✓ You’ve got some guts, guys....So. Here we have an app which scans text from a picture or photo on your device and then converts it to text which you can then email to yourself, saving you from re-typing it manually. Or whatever. Great! Simple, eh? The thing is, this app wants you to upgrade for a price and openly tells you that if you don’t, each conversion will take at least an hour and you can only convert one pic at a time. Of COURSE this makes some sense; it’s business, they want to make money and there should be some added benefit to those who purchase over those who use the free version. However, why should you trust an app which makes it clear that if you use the free version, they will deliberately make things painfully slow and awkward for you? The answer is, you shouldn’t. There are other apps out there which do the same thing more quickly and do it for free and then don’t ask a ransom from you, and they instead offer perks for upgrading. That’s something these guys should be doing but aren’t. I have tried other apps and will be eventually paying for one which offers advantages without taking me hostage in the hope that I’ll pay for a half-decent, basic service. Image To Text: it should not be a case of “pay us or you’ll barely get a basic use out of us”. It should be “here’s something we can offer well, and upgrade for some perks to make it better still”.
