Financial Times: Business News for Positive User Reviews

FTQuite simply the FT sets the standard. Its journalists are serious experts in their fields, and there are enough around the globe to do their job properly - a marked contrast with other serious titles. The coverage of business and finance is superb, but so is its writing on politics, science, the arts and any other field you care to name. It’s not cheap but it’s an outstanding bargain..Version: 1.39

Very good, could be betterI pay quite a bit for this and there are too many adverts. Sometimes there would appear to be obvious news content missing - I’d expect that of the Telegraph or the Guardian, but the FT should be above that - for example not covering yesterday’s report on oil companies still funding lobby groups that try to resist climate change action - this is surely market-relevant stuff! Maybe the FT listens to companies too much.... MyFT is brilliant as a way of building up a store of articles.Version: 1.22

Social MediaWhy does the app not allow me to easily share articles on Facebook or Twitter?.Version: 1.23

My favorite newspaper!I love the Financial Times. I started reading the paper while traveling in United Kingdom and Europe. The business and economic articles are provocative and insightful, offering a global perspective. However, what I find most compelling are the coverage of life, arts, culture, and travel. The magazine is superb. I wish I could hold and cherish the weekend print edition in my hand here in the United States. Frederick.Version: 1.59

My dream job would be working for the ‘Rolls-Royce’ of newspapersThe FT used to run an advertisement with the tag line: “No FT no comment”. To this day it is a balanced top quality source of international information on current affairs and more besides. Everything from the cultural to how to spend it can be found in the paper and it’s associated publication. My dream job would be working for the FT - the ‘Rolls-Royce’ of Newspapers..Version: 1.48

Great columns, and great coverage of business and economyThe FT doesn’t attempt to cover as much as, say, the NY Times. It’s specialised and selective, but it’s not narrow. It offers reporting or core issues in the politics and economy of UK and US, to a lesser extent the individual countries of Europe and the world. It also addresses the EU as such and the state of global affairs. So it’s good for an analytic take of politics and more depth on markets. But the best is its several terrific columnists..Version: 1.21

New formatI do NOT like the new layout. I have been patient and given it time, which has helped, but it is still not optimal. Having said that the FT app is the best app in terms of quality news. I also read the WSJ daily and that app is a complete disappointment in comparison..Version: 1.30

3D Touch from home screen to downloadCan you please add 3D Touch to the iOS app with the option to refresh the FT content (i.e. download the paper) from the home screen. Useful if going offline, etc into the metro/subway/tube.Version: 1.23

Falling quality and a lot of trolls but reasonable journalismI subscribe to the FT for a number of reasons beyond just the articles and the quality if them. The fact that this organisation allows comments on its articles is a huge differentiator however there are an increasing number of trolls appearing in the comments section. If social media companies are going to held liable for false information posted on their websites and apps then news organisations cannot be far behind. There have been a number of times when factually incorrect assertions have been made which seek to influence public opinion at times and it is getting annoying. I also feel the quality of the journalism is generally good, but there is a noticeable drop in quality from prior years. The depth of the journalism often falls short of what a reader could or should reasonably expect..Version: 1.40

Navigation is screwed up.Back button brings up history instead of headlines..Version: 1.20

Excellent informationFT pioneered the digital experience in news media. They know what they’re doing, and the reporting is top notch. I feel better informed with this app..Version: 1.53

Best news appVery rarely can I not think of an imptovent but your app is perfect.Version: 1.42

Best in classThe FT has integrity which is in short supply these days and the app mostly works well. There is a problem with trolls despite the paywall. I suggest they either limit the number of comments per account per month, or charge per comment over a monthly quota to reduce the noise created by bad faith actors pushing their agenda. The markets data and markets data search in the app is a bit poorly implemented - there is no search autocomplete and often pages fail to load or the search results are strange..Version: 1.23

Great journalism. Good app. Some small improvements would make it a great app. First, thumbnails refresh every time you swipe to go back back. It’s like the whole page reloads each time instead of loading from memory. Second, the sliding animation when you swipe to go back is too slow. These are not huge issues, but because you do these action so often, the small annoyances eventually turn into big ones. I hope these are fixed!.Version: 1.32

Excellent PaperTop notch reporting; outside of the CCP bots in the comments channel a fantastic source of information, not tainted by the social justice/virtue signalling thats poisoned the NYT/Globe and Mail. Pricey but worth it..Version: 1.38

Sharing functionality not workingThis might be due to a recent update, but when I create a link to share with non-subscribers, I expect more than just the headline to appear in the app I am sharing it to or copying and pasting into. Rich of the FT to then ‘charge’ me a sharing credit when I do it again. Please create more detailed regional sub-sections under ‘World’, if not other sections. It is difficult to access the wealth of information that is so much more easily available in the web version. There is more to read than just the front page of the app - make it easier..Version: 1.61

Nothing like the paperUnfortunately you discontinued the distribution of the FT In Florida Since then I barely read the Paper. Articles are too long to be in the screen on an iPhone for a long time.Version: 1.41

America obsessedI subscribe to the FT for more thoughtful, comprehensive and cosmopolitan journalism than is found in drama-addicted N America. I think Europe is far more interesting. But the FT increasingly delivers the same sensationalized American exceptionalism, repeating the same culture war stories and assuming we are all Americans. At least, when reporting on US figures, add US to titles like the President or the Fed..Version: 1.30

My got toI am quite selective with what media platforms I have on my phone. FT is one of three. It’s not perfect but I find it a good way to keep abreast of international news..Version: 1.38

A big part of my dayThe Financial Times consistently brings me information and analysis not readily available elsewhere. Plus, it has a commendable level of social engagement that we sorely need in the business and political worlds. I’m a grateful subscriber..Version: 1.53

FtPreviously you had an option where one could see the actual paper and zoom in on an article. It’s a shame this option is no longer available.Version: 1.40

Great News, But Not Very Accessible AppWidget font is tiny and completely ignores system font size settings. Makes it absolutely impossible to read the news there. Can you please fix your widget and incorporate accessibility system settings to reflect user's size display preferences?.Version: 1.42

This is a marked improvement over previous appsGreat app.Version: 1.33

Calm, informed newsIn a world of click bait headlines and news as entertainment, the FT is a shining beacon of what a news organisation should be. Well worth the price..Version: 1.33

Best sub I pay - by farI’ve had a digital sub for the FT for the past 8 years. It is pricey but worth every penny. The quality of articles and their insights are second to none. In addition, and for me a real value, are the comments which cover a huge breadth and are really insightful. Overall, superb..Version: 1.51

Good news! The app is just fine with the best journalism from any UK newspaper. Quality articles, educational pieces and deep expertise on current affairs. The international coverage is the best you’ll get and the local stuff isn’t bad. It has a global capitalism bias of course but that works in its favour. They say Mussolini made the trains run on time well corporate globalism produced some fine quality media and the ft is one of the best examples..Version: 1.34

I miss the old versionWhat happened to the date and the ability to look at different the paper for dates? WSJ app has it still..Version: 1.22

Good journalismWorth the subscription, diverse and engaged content.Version: 1.30

Great designDark mode available, ..Version: 1.32

Why release something that doesn't workJust a web app. Can't even post comments through this app..Version: 1.2

Thank you and well done.I take both the physical paper version as well as the digital version. Mainly because when I am reading the paper version I find things that I don’t always notice in the digital version. And the other way round at other times. In whatever format I am reading I am always rewarded by the quality of the journalism. Fantastic opinion columns, backed up by exceptional prose. In addition to the impressively balanced approach to most of the general information articles as well. Another observation that leaps out at me, is the incredibly wide international coverage that I am offered every morning. I am not sure that any other U.K. publication covers so many places in such depth. Your “opinion” journalists should also be fully aware that I so enjoy their articles, that as soon as they publish a book on their specific subject I am an early buyer of the said book. Please do your best to keep it up, and well done on all that has gone before. Kindest regards Keith.Version: 1.38

RestrictionsSir, I think it is very ridiculous when your digital subscribers cannot efficiently forward news article while your print subscribers can easily cut and copy to send to their friends. Ed.Version: 1.24

Sack The SubbiesThe FT has always been of better quality than the rest, however in recent times the quality of headlines and financial education of writers has declined. This is comparative there isn’t much “quality” left out there other than the Economist, WSJ and NYT. It is almost impossible to find impartial, logical analysis, which doesn’t pander to political correct “wokism”..Version: 1.30

App issueThe app seems to have developed some issue post the last few iOS updates. It does not run properly after opening the first time or after a while from the app menu (stays on a blank screen). However, it runs once I close and open it again..Version: 1.41

Balanced ReportingThe Financial Times is a pleasure to bead because it presents the facts of the story then frequently looks at how the developments will impact various effected constituencies without emotional language. It is balanced and clear. Opinions are clearly called out and stand apart from the news reporting..Version: 1.53

Great newspaper, app can be improvedBeen a long time subscriber and love the newspaper. I usually read on the website on desktop or phone, after trying the app I decided to stay with the website. The app basically delivers the website version in compact, however it feels inflexible. I wish I can change the sequence of sections by my preference. Also the interface lacks natural effect, which feels a bit inconvenient for the thumbs..Version: 1.23

The best source for news.Well laid out app. Only critique would be an improved podcast player..Version: 1.29

My FT experience so farRecently, I have become a subscribe of Financial Times and reading unbiased news on FT. The user interface of the application is catchy and straightforward. I would highly recommend the FT app to everyone who is interesting news headlines and details. Besides, it has a search option which helps to track down the keyboards that you are looking for in topics..Version: 1.33

President & CEO of ultra high net worth consulting firmFantastic. Authoritative and credible on business news and interviews. Fascinating personal articles. Thank you!.Version: 1.22

The truly reliable sourceSolid and reliable! Distinguishes between news and opinion! Strategic and economic analysis sound and well researched. I'd like to especially commend Valerie Hopkins in Central Europe. Have been a reader for the last 40 years!.Version: 1.28

FT Insightful, atypical more introspective.Analysis. I read both FT and NYTs, I always go to FT to follow-up on political events, before the NYTs..Version: 1.38

Quality paperThe quality of information you get here is premium. Gives detailed information on the news and underlying causes of why certain things happen in a certain way. It also has variety of different topics to read from and doesn’t solely focus on one thing. I’d rather wait an extra day and let FT write an good article than read mainstream new papers immediately after an incident has occurred..Version: 1.30

Daily ReaderEasy calm on the eye format. Excellent reporting-higher quality than many other news agencies. App is quite easy to use and find informative important to the reader..Version: 1.31

Average performance appMain issue is that it doesn’t download enough for offline reading..,you get on a flight to discover an article hasn’t in fact downloaded even though it appears to be there. The overall menu structure is a huge disappointment too. Grab a hard copy when you can. Oh and the subscription pricing is outrageously expensive..Version: 1.22

Beautifully written. Well researched. My go to read. I just love the FT..Version: 1.25

Wise, intelligent, well written. The FT does do finance but it does a whole lot more as well. It’s journalistic standards are of the highest providing accurate evidence based reporting on a wide range of issues. It focuses on matters of local, regional and global significance. It’s analysis and commentary is second to none with a range of viewpoints argued closely and intelligently. If I had to choose one source of news and commentary the FT would be it..Version: 1.61

Excellent content, but app is no longer compatible with older devicesI enjoy reading the FT and regard it as one of the best sources of news and balanced opinion, but can no longer load the app on my older iPod and now find that some articles won't load on an older iPad. Fortunately the website still works. Where is the commitment to sustainability, though, if readers are forced to buy new hardware and perfectly serviceable devices are turned into industrial waste? Of course, the FT app is not the only one that requires new hardware and responsibility for rendering devices obsolete ultimately rests mainly with Apple..Version: 1.32

Almost prefectI love almost everything about this app. The type and colour used in the design. How easy it is to find things. The only issue is the constant crashes when opening the app. The please reload the app button shows up too often seems to be a relatively recent issue. This has been a five star app before the last few I...Version: 1.42

Great source of reflections and learningsI have grown to appreciate FT in its entirety. It is thorough, non fictional and engaging. A rare commodity in today’s journalisms which has to be cherished. Thank you for keeping your readers so well informed..Version: 1.30

Quality journalismMy absolute go-to for financial and economic news on a daily basis. High quality, balanced journalism that’s worth paying for plus a growing number of excellent podcasts..Version: 1.52

FT = Fresh ThinkingI went off reading newspapers for a long time because I got tired of the relentless ideological bias, whether that came from the right (e.g. The Economist) or the left (e.g. The Guardian). So it was a breath of fresh air to (re)discover the FT. Because it has a commitment to intellectual rigour rather than ideological bias it is freer to explore genuinely novel, innovative and even radical ideas. So instead of feeling angry or lectured at (as I do with other newspapers) I always get some new perspective..Version: 1.21

Same great experience as the paperThe app is very well designed, down to the pinkish hue of the paper..Version: 1.23

Please add the e paperThe lack of integration of the e-paper and instead having to use a separate, kludgy bookmark, is odd. The scrolling style of news reading is better suited to quickly updating oneself on the headlines or for open ended reading, but there is still a time and place to sit down and consume the entire paper, especially the wonderful FT Weekend..Version: 1.41

Key stories highlighted; search for detailsThe app brings the readers attention a well-curated set of urgent and/or important stories on the home page. The menu bar for favourited topics also allows for easy identification of thematic stories. Some of the more complex and detailed articles are a bit more difficult to find.Version: 1.48

Financial Times: Reliable News, but falls short on moderation of in-house commentary foraThe Financial Times is one of the English-speaking world’s top five news providers. While it is not as comprehensive (or focused on investigative journalism) as the New York Times and other journals, it does try to ensure that it hires too-flight journalists who actually corroborate what they report, to the extent that is possible (in some places, like China, Iran and, of course, Purim’s Russia, that isn’t easy). It has fallen down of late in terms of the effort and rigour of its approach to the moderation of comments offered by subscribers. This is a failure when it is clear that many corporate entities (political parties and big businesses in democratic states, propagandists and espionage agencies serving authoritarian states and, of course, extremist groups) dispatch paid trolls daily to skew and disrupt online discussions..Version: 1.51

FT hurt by biasFT covers US political and economic news in an obviously partisan way, letting it’s staff’s opinions distort supposedly hard news coverage. This clear bias undercuts the FT’s credibility generally. However, features on books and other softer topics continue to be excellent and the FT provides important European coverage for US readers..Version: 1.38

Been a reader for several decades; the app is great. At one time I had to receive the Financial Times via the mail which meant I was always getting yesterday’s news. Thankfully the app is available and it’s filled with the great content I started reading many decades ago..Version: 1.39

Good but not greatThe app is good while online but it’s offline feature it unreliable. Despite having the new iPhone and plenty of storage, for most articles pictures won’t show while offline. Links to articles within FT also doesn’t work offline. I fly and take the tube often, and wish the app would do a full content download..Version: 1.24

App keeps freezingI have been a subscriber for many years and love the newspaper. Unfortunately, the app keeps freezing since the last update..Version: 1.61

This is the best newspaper known to humankindThe financial times is the only newspaper worth subscribing to for the internationally focused business person. I find most of its notifications useful. It answers all the questions I have about the markets. I love this paper..Version: 1.25

Actual, proper news. A visibly ever improving app.Having subscribed to the FT for about a year, I’m only ever refreshed by the concise, informative journalism; clear and well argued opinion; and somehow (sadly) relative freedom from infantile, faddy, and reductive opinions and headlines. Other uk broadsheets just don’t cut it mores the pity. The app itself has improved loads since I signed up but was already strong to begin with. As an engineer myself, I enjoy seeing the improvements and features the FT team are adding. I can’t recommend subscribing highly enough..Version: 1.21

Could be betterFeels like the website has more recent and relevant articles than the app. App’s refresh rate is bad..Version: 1.40

FT - a mandatory daily readThe world is cluttered with excellent blogs, newspapers and magazines. The two I try to read almost every issue are the FT and the Economist - both stand above their peers in terms of factfulness, objectivity and relevance..Version: 1.46

#1 Reputable & Distinguished ContentThe best in class most trustworthy news delivered to users in a brilliant and easy to use format. Always has been - always will be..Version: 1.48

Best In Class for N. Am., UK and International NewsThe best app for reading news, along with excellent content compared to the WSJ. Easy navigation and minimally intrusive addverts..Version: 1.22

Good app, bad contentThe app is probably by far one of the best out there if you are willing to pay for the subscription. However, it is simply sad to see that one of the biggest financial newspapers in the country is biased and has an agenda in most of the topics it covers. I wish this wasn’t the case as most business related reader only need the facts in order to take a decision instead of an opinion or certain phrasings found in this news house..Version: 1.53

Synchronising issue between devicesI very much enjoy the Financial Times app, it is now the only newspaper I read. There is one feature I would like added however, I read on both my iPad and iPhone and it is quite irritating that my phone tablet don’t synchronise. This therefore means that if I switch between my phone and tablet, the articles I have read on one device to not fade out on the other device. A very small nuisance, but one that should be easy to resolve..Version: 1.21

One of my favorite news appsWhile I’ve only used a few other newspaper apps, FT is my favorite. The signature color of the background makes reading the news easy on the eyes. I also greatly appreciate the limited number of alerts the app produces by default..Version: 1.24

FT is a good WSJ alternativeAre you a Wall Street Journal subscriber who is disgusted by their terrible new (version 14) iPad app? Are you looking for something better? The Financial Times has a really nice iPad app that works well. FT has excellent unbiased news stories. I like “The Big Read.” Overall, FT is a great choice..Version: 1.61

Needs auto-dark modeContent is great. But though the app supports a fairly decent Dark Mode, it doesn't support turning it on and off automatically according to the device setting. This is frustrating, to say the least..Version: 1.41

The BestThe best business news source, streamlined and well presented. The app and webpage are a pleasure to use..Version: 1.24

Content is brilliantPlease make the ability to swipe from start to finish in your MyFT section. Also the ability to just let audio in the MyFT section play from first to last article assuming audio is available..Version: 1.52

Great content but tech could be betterAccess to content is good and it is easy to navigate the app. However, it would be good if the app updated itself all the time so that when you loaded it without wifi you automatically had an offline version (rather than having to remember to pre-load before getting on the tube)..Version: 1.23

The best Newspaper!I read a lot of news, and have done so for decades. The one source I look forward to, invariably, is the Financial Times. I don’t always agree with their Opinion pieces, but they are well thought through. I also view their info as top notch..Version: 1.24

Restore Sharing of ArticlesThe app recently disabled sharing of articles on the app; I now have a small number of ‘share credits’ I can use or buy more at cost. This prevents me from tweeting content to others. I don’t see the sense in that, and FT didn’t inform me in advance. I will reconsider my FT subscription when up for renewal because of it. But otherwise the app is good..Version: 1.21

Ugly icon5 stars for content quality and user experience. 1 star off for the ugly APP icon and no landscape version for iPad..Version: 1.21

Always ahead of the story.Been reading FT for at least the last five years and I can say that they are the most trusted source of analytical news coverage that I use. They are often ahead of the story. I find very few grammatical problems in FT articles. Love the adoption from web app to full mobile app. Thanks everyone. Keep it up..Version: 1.33

The FTUs ghetto spa must come to grips with the world of politics economics and finance. It is my opinion that this rag is a good plaice to start ones journey into the headzone of the movers and shakers who may at some point fall out of their glass towers. It is with no retreat the paper expensive but having dis app at a right proper low price. Educated me and me bredwin in the ways of how it works and how some will by a watch for a million pound and pay big bucks for things we ain’t heard off. Good app....some good content....and when we got used to reading the paper, you see a load of suites on the make in market manipulation. So we sat good journalism if you fink there is such thing. Chomsky does not...but that’s his opinion..Version: 1.24

Great App & ServiceI really enjoy the FT in general and like being able to use both app and website. The ability to listen to articles via the app is great option. But it’s really great on the eyes, ability to customize fonts, and all those little nuances that can make or break one’s experience. Hope they keep following best practices and keep improving..Version: 1.51

Best newspaper for “World View”I’m a news junkie. Read NY Times, Economist, New Yorker, Fox news, WSJ & FT. I like to see what stories are covered by each & want to make up my own mind. No news is with out perspective but the FT gives me a global perspective of news and economic trends- PLUS their magazine & arts coverage is one of (if not) the best in the world. It’s a fair (reasonable, clear, even handed) picture of an often confusing story..Version: 1.49

Steadfast on relevant topicsIn a media landscape increasingly consumed by superficial trends and celebrity gossip, the Financial Times remains resolute in its commitment to its core subject matter. While recognizing the importance of diverse perspectives and acknowledging the interplay between finance and the broader world, it skillfully avoids losing sight of its primary objective: delivering essential financial news. This unwavering focus is a breath of fresh air in an era where so many news outlets tend to blur the lines between entertainment and substantive reporting..Version: 1.56

Great App but Not PerfectWonderful app with up to date FT articles. I find no delay between the FT app and the FT website itself and using the app makes reading FT articles on my phone so much easier. My only complaint is that some links (like comment links) will try to take you to the FT website instead of just taking you to the article on the app itself. That is a minor concern and it is otherwise a great app..Version: 1.33

Ads and double subscription takes off the shineFT journalism is unparalleled especially for business. I routinely recommend young people serious about their careers to read it. But the business model that populates the text with ads even despite a high end subscription is annoying. But what is really inappropriate is that someone picks out especially interesting articles and puts them behind a second pay wall. Having the cake, eating it and pocketing the plate..Version: 1.41

ThanksIts the standard.Version: 1.30

Support new magic keyboard for iPad ProPlease add two-finger trackpad support for Apple’s new magic keyboard for iPad so that we may swipe horizontally in the app for horizontal scrolling of articles instead of having to swipe horizontally on screen. Enjoying the app..Version: 1.29

Financial TimesDespite the ups and the downs, there are still only two financial centers/centres. Thanks London because there wouldn’t be the Financial Times without your greatness..Version: 1.46
