Cubasis 3 - DAW & Music Studio Pros

Some added functionality in certain areas but...It might be a little early to “rain in the parade” but only after a few days with Cubasis 3, I have found some puzzling aspects to Cubasis 3. 1) while there is complete apple pencil functionality with Version 2, V3 doesn’t respond AT ALL. I’m hoping (and praying) that someone just forgot to tell V3 to read the pencil. Otherwise, why in the world would you take functionality away from an upgrade situation. if I missed a button to push somewhere to activate blue tooth devices, please pass this info on because I could find no reference to this. 2) the logic in taking away scrubbing capability? 3) with V2, when you would press on a track to enter edit window, the midi information would be presented so you could immediately start working with it. With V3, the midi info is “smashed” together in a global view and requires a number of tedious moves to get it to any form of a working view. this HAS to be a glitch or bug. 4) upon initial work with V3, it appears your haven’t really added any new functionality in working with midi. Is there some reason why the capability to use either outboard or inboard midi controller in step time input has not been included. All for now, thanks.ThomuzVersion: 1.0

Still the go-to DAWI’ve had Version 2 for ages and, since it went on Summer Sale, I thought ‘why not?’ So far, so good. I’ve only just started with it so I don’t think I’ve discovered all the new bells and whistles. One thing (and this was the same with V.2): I generally create my music using combinations of my IOS music apps (I have loads). What I still can’t figure out all this time is how to create a tempo-correct drum track using something like Ruismaker, or Pure Acid, or Borsta. When I press ‘record’ I can hear the app making the appropriate tempo-corrected beats. But when I stop the recording there’s nothing there. I don’t want to go the route of using AUM to lay down all my tracks because that’s way too ‘faffy.’ It’s a really simple ask and perhaps I’m totally overlooking something but that’s my one gripe. That being said, Cubasis retires Auria Pro forever, just in terms of the intuitive nature of assembling tracks..AnsonortVersion: 3.4.3

Cubasis 3 - DAW & Music Studio Cons

Constant crashing and freezingMan, this would get 5 stars if it worked properly for more than a few minutes at a time, and btw I am running version 3.2.1 with a brand new iPad Air 4th gen (256 GB). It even just crashed on me while I was scrolling through the freakin ‘Help’ literature, and it was the only app I had open, ridiculous. Another issue I’m experiencing is when going through my projects eventually I’ll open one and things will just freeze, won’t be able to play back that project or get out of it and choose another. Things have seemed to get worse over time. Bought it a couple months ago and was putting some good hours into and I did notice these issues happening eventually, but not like when it was super new, maybe that’s why I haven’t even played with it until tonight and wow it’s bad, Guess I’ll go learn garage band. This app would be awesome if it worked, regret the purchase..Jim $toneVersion: 3.2.1

Too many issues.I’ve had Cubasis 2 for years, used on various iPads, with hardly any issues. I recently purchased Cubasis 3 while the sale was on, and so glad I didn’t pay full price. I have also updated it to latest Cubasis 3.4. Cubasis 3 has so many issues. I use iPad 11 pro and iPhone 13 pro max. Haven’t used it on the iPhone yet, but on iPad it constantly crashes during recordings. And now it has started playing back recordings at really slow distorted speeds! Really frustrating. Tried so many obvious solutions, restarts, iPad restart etc etc. Sometimes it plays back normal speed then other times it switches back to slow distorted speeds. I’ve never played around with speed settings, tempo etc, just left everything as default. I use Audiobus 3 to set up Cubabsis with recordings. Always starts of great, then once you get going adding more instruments or sounds, it either stops dead or crashes off screen. Think I’ll go back to using Cubasis 2 until Steinberg can sort these bugs out. I’ve read through various forums that there are a lot of issues with Cubasis 3. Seems a lot more work needed to go into this before it’s released. There are constant complaints of Cubasis 3 crashing in different scenarios. Steinberg should not be releasing it without fully testing. Tried everything you suggested and checked on forums. These crashes are constant. I’m giving up on Cubasis 3 and applying for a refund. Wasting too much time trying to resolve different types of crashes..JamestyrosVersion: 3.4
