RaiseMe - College scholarships for Positive User Reviews

AMAZING FOR COLLEGE !I never knew apps like this existed until I saw an ad one day and tried it. This app helps to raise college funds for different colleges by using micro-scholarships. The micro-scholarships vary from grades to clubs to community service, it can all be used to raise money for college! I think this is amazing because I’m only a sophomore, but I know college is expensive and I want to prepare. You not only need to be a sophomore and up, you can also be a freshman. I only wish that more colleges would set up RaiseMe accounts. But many colleges do have accounts! I 100% recommend!!.Version: 1.25.0

LOVE!I absolutely love this app! I think its an amazing way to earn scholarships. I love that you have many opportunities to get money from different schools. The only thing is i wish they had more schools to earn scholarships from. Im looking for an art school to go to, my top choices do not have any scholarship on here. I don't know how they can make that happen but getting more schools on here would be amazing!.Version: 1.17.1

Like the concept, but....I love that I have access to so many scholarships and I can get a better visual of all the options available for me, as well as how extracurriculars, course load, etc. have an impact on the scholarships I can get. However, I’ve noticed that there’s not that many selective colleges, and out of all the colleges that offer scholarships through Raise Me, only one appealed to me. It’d be great if more colleges could be on here, in general, not necessarily the most selective ones..Version: 1.27.4

So much potentialll!!I came across this app today and it’s absolutely great the interface is simple and it is great to keep track of what courses you are taking and how that reflects to college admissions. I came across an issue on my end, I have can’t add non core classes to my gpa. Is this because non core classes are not part of the unweighted GPA? However this is the best college resource I’ve come across! It rivals college board however doesn’t have the amount of specific filters like college board has. However, over time I see this app to improve and hopefully by the time I get to college there will be much much more colleges available. Add Hawai’i schools! Great App! 5 stars because I see much potential!!.Version: 1.26.0

It actually works !!I had used the app during the beginning of my college application process and didn’t think much of it. I ended up getting into my dream school NYU and in my financial aid package there was a scholarship called raiseme. I had completely forgot about it but it was 18K over the course of four years just from this app and it would have been more if I didn’t think it was a fluke. Super easy to use but not as many schools use it as you might think (from my experience anyway) but still great resource for college kiddos!.Version: 1.29.1

Very helpful app with great featuresI just downloaded this app today, and I can confirm it is deserving of the publicity. Not only does it help you find colleges that will help achieve your goals, it also filters them based on chances to get in. I really like all the sorting and customization in the app. The fact it is free is so amazing! I do have a few suggestions though for the app that I will talk about below. 1. Show which colleges require test scores- I know this may be hard due to the constant nature of change with these policies but I think it would be a cool feature. 2. Share the cost of the college with in state tuition compared to out of state tuition- This would be a very helpful feature for people looking and close and far colleges. 3.Show famous graduates from the schools- I think this would be a really cool feature but it is not a very significant one. Very thankful and impressed with this app!.Version: 1.29.1

Great App! One problemOne problem I am facing right now is that the app isn’t allowing me to add a college to my college readiness area. I was putting down that I went on a college visit but it doesn’t allow any college name which is a required field. This seems to just be some strange bug that needs fixing. Other then that, it’s an easy app to use and really great! It is making me feel more confident financially for college as an upcoming senior in high school!.Version: 1.30.7

Good appThis app is very good and straight to the point, but the lack of colleges that are offered in my state makes it almost worthless. They don’t even have the any of the state schools in my area let alone the big universities. Whenever they start partnering with more preferred and popular colleges in my area is when this app will go from good to great. Other than that, an overall good app, and a great way to get started for scholarships if you don’t know where to start..Version: 1.18.1

It’s great when it worksI love the app, I’ve gained over $15k in scholarships since I downloaded it mere days ago, however I have been having an issue lately with attempting to add college readiness events, specifically when typing in which college it applies to. It keeps showing “no results found”, even when I type out the full name of the University that I know is on the app. It may just be an issue with my phone, but if others are having the same issue, it needs to be resolved..Version: 1.30.6

Thoughts + SuggestionsPersonally I love this app, it’s great for a GPA calculator, shows what schools are safety/target/reach, puts together all of your activities/service, overall I really like this app and the financial opportunities it offers. However, I’ve seen some colleges offer money for virtual visits yet there is no place to add that specifically (as it’s not a campus visit) in the College Preparedness category - hopefully that option will be added soon, especially as many colleges are closed for touring and events..Version: 1.23.0

Amazing app! This is an amazing app for looking at colleges that are a perfect fit for you. It also helps you earn scholarship money towards going to a university which is so important. Raise Me helped me discover schools that I would have never considered before but am now wanting to apply to. I recommended this app for anyone in high school. Even if you’re a freshman this app is incredibly helpful..Version: 1.27.4

Useful and FreeI didn’t think much of this god given app until my sophomore year of high school. With the search for colleges in full force, I was very much concerned about scholarships. While this app doesn’t exactly cover a full tuition by any means, it was a great help when thinking of finances and tuition costs when picking my college of choice. I’ve now set my sights on Drake University, and with this app, I can make that dream into a reality..Version: 1.18.1

Why to pick Raise MeRaise Me is not only an amazing app for scholarships that allows you to make college more affordable but it also helps young students to filter all there academic achievements to make further college searches run smoothly. This would be the first and number one scholarship I would recommend to people just starting there college search journey!.Version: 1.24.1

Scholarships!! 😀❤️This app is amazing! I am the kind of person who has been searching for scholarships since I was in 5th grade (which are very hard to find btw), and now as a Freshman most of the scholarships are targeted towards juniors and seniors. This app allows you to look for colleges that are connected with RaiseMe, and get information about applications and deadlines. All you have to do is type in your grades, awards, volunteer service, and work experience and you can receive scholarships from it. The day I signed up I raised about $2,000 for a college I'd like to go to. The other thing to remember with this app however, is that the scholarship money you raise will only be saved until you apply, are admitted, and enroll in the college. I 110% support this app and recommend it!!!.Version: 1.10.2

Great AppI love this app but I took a star off for one reason - unweighted GPA and restricted scholarships. My GPA is weighted so it’s frustrating that, for some colleges, I can’t see what type of scholarships they’d offer me because my “GPA isn’t high enough” when it is high enough. RaiseMe should show the scholarships for certain colleges even if your GPA “isn’t high enough” according to the app. Maybe put a clear note on the side that one’s GPA needs to be higher for all scholarships shown to apply - but at least still show the money students could be saving if they meet the minimum GPA. This, or maybe incorporate weighted GPA into the app/allow students to add their own GPA rather than it being determined by the app (that way they can also see scholarships that would/wouldn’t be offered if they have a certain GPA?) Other than that, I still think this app is pretty great. Just some constructive criticism above!.Version: 1.17.0

This app is a life saverI literally recommend this app to everyone. It’s an amazing way to learn about colleges and get your information to them. Even if it didn’t offer scholarships, I would still use it. An awesome way to keep track of all your classes and how well you did in them, and all your accomplishments, extracurriculars, community service, etc. The school I’m going to wasn’t in their database yet, so I just submitted the name of the school and it was up within 24 hours. They offer so many resources..Version: 1.30.1

Great for a basic idea of the schoolI started using Raise Me about half a year ago. I am a high school freshmen with a 4.0 GPA. I like many of the features Raise Me offers. It is easy to use and an excellent tool to discover and research colleges. However, I would like to see and “dorm and residential” section added. I’d like to know if the dorms were co-ed, air-conditioned, etc. In addition, I’d like to be able to filter schools by major. I’d also love if there was an outside scholarship list. Thank you for taking the time to read this!.Version: 1.21.3

So helpful!!This app is one of the greatest things I have ever downloaded on my phone. I’m a sophomore in high school and this app allows me to be able to have everything in one place and it shows me where I stand with the colleges I want. I pushed me to work harder to get scholarships to the schools I want to go to and it motivates me to do better. I recommend this to EVERY high schooler because this app is going to be your best friend. I love it so so so so much and hopefully I’ll be able to get where I want to with these scholarships..Version: 1.17.3

Work-based Learning ExperiencesI just started using the app and so far I like what I see although I think there should be more colleges on here. My main concern is that there isn’t a section for Work-Based Learning experiences. I’ve been on many special field trips to places such as Spacex for an engineering summit and the research laboratories at the San Diego Safari Zoo which was related to an industry pathway. I’d like to add these experiences however it seems like I don’t have the option to..Version: 1.16.1

Very legit and usefulThis is an amazing app to get, especially if you’re a freshman, sophomore, or junior in high school. I was skeptical about it but had nothing to lose. The only college that it had a partnership with that I had been accepted to was Northeastern University. I had around $8,000 in micro-scholarships I think and got a $10,000/year scholarship. In my acceptance/scholarship letter they mentioned that the RaiseMe funds were a part of the deal so it definitely is legit. Good luck to all in your college process. Enjoy it!!.Version: 1.30.7

SO COOLOk so I’m a rising sophomore who was and still kind of is very confused about the college... everything, but this app is really great and helps you out with discovering colleges SO MUCH. I highly recommend it to everyone seeking college. I do have one question for the creators though. At my school, we get a certain amount of credits for every semester, not every year. So for example, I get one cred after a semester of Literature. That means 2 by the time the year is done. However I can’t seem to change that in the settings. Is there something I’m missing or is it just not there?.Version: 1.27.0

Awesome, but does not account for AICE or HS courses taken in MSGreat way to track your college resume and view potential scholarships! However, the app does not account for high school credits taken in middle school or for AICE courses (Cambridge University’s international college course program, as rigorous as AP). This hinders access to potential scholarships as well as to showing your true GPA since not all of your courses will be counted for if you did either of the above types of courses. Still, the app functions well and is amazing for viewing information about almost any college and university in the United States. Highly recommend!.Version: 1.18.0

I love this app but currently…As of right now I’ve been trying to log into my account for a few hours; repeatedly. I have all my login info saved and everything so I should be able to log in quickly but I can’t get passed the login screen currently. Is there something going on with the server or something? 😭 I love your app though! It’s efficient to keep track of what you’ve done and gain scholarships in the process..Version: 1.30.7

I basically have a full ride to a college and I'm only a sophomoreWow this is really amazing and takes a lot of stress from my shoulders. I have always had good grades and it really motivates me to see actual results from them on this app. I basically followed every college that was giving out micro scholarships and there is one that is willing to give me $80,000 to go to their school, which would cover almost all of my years at their college leaving me only around 6k to pay per year. However since I’m going to be a junior next year and have two more years of high school left I’m very sure I can get enough money to get a full ride. This app is a dream come true! I hope you can get more partners though as I would love to have as many choices as possible but understand that it would be difficult..Version: 1.24.1

Ehhh... Has potentialIn the beginning, I was extremely excited to use this app. The interface is smooth and instructions are very clear. But my excitement started to wear off after running into the GPA issue and after reading other reviews i can see people are having similar issues. My unweighted GPA on the app is way lower than what it says on my official transcript. And though I know the GPAs are calculated off of “core courses”, that factor is creating a useless purpose of the app for a lot of users. Because the GPAs are so low, people can’t use the app correctly or be provided with accurate scholarships. I also had an issue with the credits. My school provides 5 credits for A-G requirements and 2.5 credits for electives and I also felt like the lack of credit representation had an effect on my GPA. I really do like the app but I just find no purpose of using it if I’m not receiving accurate opportunities that could help my future..Version: 1.16.1

Could Be Improved...I think it would be highly beneficial for those who are wavering on their majors/colleges to create a way to favorite certain colleges, bringing them to the top of your list. Also more micro scholarships in bigger schools (I know you can’t control this, but is is a downfall.) Lasty some way to find colleges based on majors you’re interested in. Like let us pick up to five majors (since we all don’t have it narrowed down to three yet,) and then when searching for colleges have the best rated in each major you chose. Maybe even a filter for distance or cost or possible savings would be extremely helpful. Overall great app though :).Version: 1.14.0

Occasional freezing while scrolling through a page on the appOnce in a while, while I’m scrolling maybe through list of colleges or looking through a list of scholarships, the app just freezes and I can’t move anything on the page. I don’t know if this is a bug for anyone else, maybe just me. Maybe an app update could help..Version: 1.10.1

Missing many collegesThe app is useful for getting an idea of the money you could earn from base scholarships, but is missing a lot of schools. They don’t have a bunch of state universities or even the well-known ivy leagues. Private colleges are understandable to be missing, as they are quite niche, but the lack of schools is a bit concerning, and makes the app lose a lot of its uses. On the issue of weighted vs unweighted gpa, I’m not having the problems other people were mentioning (I have 4.444 weighted, 3.95 unweighted), so it’s possible they’ve either fixed the issue, or people’s gpa is legitimately too low. Overall, it’s a good app, they just need to add more universities.Version: 1.27.4

Good app but...I love this app, it’s very informative and helps you to really understand your options before applying for colleges; however, I referred a friend to the app through the link and I never received my $100 micro-scholarship and neither did she. Hoping I can get some help because it’s a real downer. It would also be great if there were more college options, but I know colleges must have to agree to be a part of it, so it would be difficult. Awesome app other than that..Version: 1.8.2

It has potentialRight now, it’s ok. I think it’s a great app for getting an estimate on how much money you could receive. I also like how you can get money just for your grades and required community service. Although, it does need a lot of work. I followed about 20 colleges that I have an interest in and none of them appeared on the app. They really need to get a lot more colleges on here. I can understand not having Stanford or Harvard, but come on, it’s missing state schools. Also I wish there was an option to add a class in and not have it count towards your gpa. At my school there are college prep classes, honors classes, AP classes, and then ones that are unleveled(don’t count towards gpa). The options on the app are regular, honors, and AP. They really need to add an unleveled option. And finally, the app only shows your unweighted gpa, and not your weighted gpa. I would really like to see both on there, because it kept saying my gpa was too low to get a scholarship from northeastern, when my gpa was much higher than required. Overall I love the app but it needs some more work. :).Version: 1.14.0

AwesomeThis app is truly amazing and very beneficial to earn money from colleges, as well as learn about different colleges in general. I just started yesterday and have already earned thousands from multiple colleges. I highly recommend using it. With that said, there are a few things that I think could be worked on. First, it would be amazing if more prestigious colleges were added and offered micro scholarships( and just more in general). But i know that is difficult. Also i think it would be nice if the grade scale went above a 100 because my school gives extra points to final semester grades for honors and AP classes. Because of this i have over a hundred on my report card for several classes. Also, the app does not let you add jobs that you still work at currently. But otherwise this app is amazing and helps you learn about colleges, while earning money from them..Version: 1.9.2

Helped MeAmazing app. Wasn’t sure if I’d even earn scholarship money through this app/program but I was (happily) proven wrong. Today I received a scholarship from one of the colleges I was accepted to, saying I had raised a lot of money from RaiseMe and I was incredibly amazed! Other than the scholarship part, RaiseMe has a lot of information on colleges that I haven’t seen from other websites and it’s really informing. The only improvement is I wish there were more colleges participating in these micro-scholarships! Overall, I’m incredibly happy that I found this app! Thank you so much!.Version: 1.13.1

RaiseMe ❤️❤️❤️I wish I could have utilized an app like this as a teenager. Because I researched last night, and this app came out in August of 2014, when I was JUST starting my last year of high school. I'm 27 now. And I downloaded this app a couple of nights ago. But quickly deleted the app because I thought I could not use it because 1) I had already done my high school career but did not stick with college very long. I dropped out after two years. 2) I have a disability. Which mainly discouraged me from ever thinking about college in the first place. And lastly, I want to work on my GED. And I've been thinking about all of this A LOT lately. Do you think I should email you guys later in the day and see what you can do for me? Maybe the staff at RaiseMe could come up with a new opinion! :).Version: 1.30.7

Amazing!RaiseMe is very easy to understand and use for first and long time users. Whenever you enter and submit your: courses, extracurricular activities, clubs, sports, work experience, test scores, etc., real colleges that you follow can see all the cool stuff the you have done and send you actual scholarships! I have been using in for nearly two years and it still is very efficient, effective, and easy as ever..Version: 1.11.3

Wish more colleges were involved2 things: I’ve seen a lot of reviews and developer responses about this already, so I’ll just note that most of the more prestigious or elite colleges haven’t started participating as a warning to future people who start using RaiseMe who might be more ambitious like I am. Other than that, this is a pretty user friendly app; I very recently started using it and have had only minor problems thus far. One problem I have encountered that is also minor but more annoying than the rest is the lack of customizable filters. I don’t want to comb through over a thousand colleges when my search could’ve been narrowed down by something like a button in a settings page that says “Set minimum average salary:_____” I understand it may be more difficult than I realize, but I still wish we could customize the filters by salary, debt, or popular majors even just a little. Other than that, it is great and you should use it..Version: 1.10.2

Courses in middle school boost my GPAIt’s great to have a way to record what I’ve done throughout highschool, as well as being able to see what money I can make for scholarships, but the app doesn’t offer a weighted GPA, nor does it allow for highschool courses taken in middle school. Those classes brought my GPA up by several points, so as it stands, I’m unable to view an accurate representation of available microscholarships..Version: 1.30.7

Great! There’s always room for improvementI never write reviews, however, I have found this app to be unbelievably helpful in my pursuit of high education. Being able to a value on my high school achievements has helped to give me an idea of what colleges are looking for and what else I should be doing. This app is incredible. I say that but not with out room for improvement. I noticed that this app does lack a place to put midterm test scores in. My high school puts a high value on these tests as they average into our semester grades. The app does have a place for finals but midterms affect my GPA just as much. Keep up the great work!.Version: 1.13.2

Love this!!Great app!! Thank you for making this a reality because paying for college will be a real struggle for me and my family financially but this program has really lifted some weight off of our shoulders! So far I have received almost $33,000 (around $8,000 per year) for the school that I will be attending. The app not only provides scholarship opportunities but includes extensive information on many schools, whether they participate or not. However I did have a few questions. Am I guaranteed to receive the money I have racked up? Is it just an estimate of how much money I will receive in financial aid or grants? Will this money be included on top of already existing financial aid and grants?.Version: 1.14.2

Awesome AppI’m a Freshman in high school and definitely need to start thinking about college and this is the perfect app to get started. Theres just one little thing they don’t have a large amount of schools on there but definitely have a good amount of schools maybe just try and start adding more and more school. And last thing as a fellow athlete maybe you guys should add the Ncaa division the school is in for what sports..Version: 1.15.0

Just a small suggestion...This is a really good app for tracking your accomplishments on what college values and to see the quick profiles of colleges. However, it would be really nice if we could put semester classes as they are available in schools. For example, if I have band for a semester. I want to be able to do quarter 3, 4, and final. But in the app, you have to do quarter 1 & 2 as well. Just a small suggestion..Version: 1.14.2
