The app is so buggyEven with recent updates to fix bugs, the app is just one big problem. When it works, it tends to be laggy or glitchy. When it doesn’t…well you can’t even sign into your account. You can browse as a guest no problem but the moment you try to login, it’s just a white screen that doesn’t do anything. I frequent my store enough that it’s not a huge problem for me personally but it does make ir hard to check preorders and such while on the go..Version: 2.12

TerribleI have been trying for several days to create a new account in the app so that I can access my rewards. I am brand new to all of this. It is very unfortunate that the app does not work. After I fill out all my information and click on “create account”, it just does absolutely nothing and when I try to go to the sign in page to sign in, it’s says there is an error. Like a beautiful shop without a doorI find this app really frustrating. It needs constant updating and keeps logging me out and then not allowing me to sign back in again. There is also no apple pay. So I cant buy anything through it as I have a credit card that is registered in Europe. I also cant reserve any books to buy in-store. Its such a shame as the app is good when it works and it would be so nice to actually buy or reserve books. I get that GDPR thing is not the fault of a the app developers but there there are workarounds. Please let me books!!.Version: 2.9

Authentication is terribleI very much want to support BN over other options, but they make it so difficult. The primary issue is the awful authentication setup. It never stays signed in and the reset flow is clunky. Please consider adding third-party auth options like Apple and Google since this has been a problem both on web and app for years..Version: 2.12

HorrifyingThis app feels like it has not be updated for the 90’s very lagging and log me out every time am not use the app. It glitchy when try to open the app it just keep blink in and out. When I log back in it would have books never look at in my history and in my cart. Forgot this in my first review…Please add an easier list feature so I can quick add books to different (wish) lists that much easier without the need for pointless extra clicks ie let us add lists and add them straight to those rather than to the wish list then our chosen list.Version: 1.2.9

Not sure what’s going onI keep on trying to check out to purchase but another persons name and address comes up on the shipping section even though I keep trying to put my own name and address there… wonder if something is going on. Laggy and not up to dateI’m a big book worm so ultimately, i was thrilled to know there’s a barnes and noble book but it’s extremely slow. It’s also not up to date, I was looking for books by Jeffrey Eugenides and nothing appeared, assuming they just didn’t have his books I went to the website to see if they did and they most definitely have his books and the exact one i’m looking for. Can’t get list sorted by most recentHi I can’t get my lists sorted by most recent. This is a problem since I have lots of books added to my list. Can somebody please look into this? It makes looking what I recently added to my list extremely time consuming on the app. I will have to scroll for about 8 minutes just to reach the bottom and by that time I am too exhausted to use it for it’s intended purposes. DisappointedThis app is disappointing to say the least. Crashes every time I click on a book to read the description or scroll longer than couple of books down. The only time I’ve managed to even add a book to my cart was to log out of my account- but that’s useless because I can’t earn rewards if I check out that way. Can’t read books, no customer supportThe Nook app hasn’t existed in the Apple store for over a week, and customer support hasn’t gotten back to me in that time. Why get this app to buy books you can’t read? Very frustrating experience - they took my money and gave me nothing but emails that tell me to go places that don’t exist. Not even links! DisappointedI’ve just got out of a reading slump (years) and I bought books from Barnes and Noble and signed up for the rewards program. I was excited to be able to look online through the app for books because online shopping is so prominent now. Tried making an account multiple times and it wouldn’t let me. Then I tried to log in because I thought maybe it registered my attempts. It told me I had too many unsuccessful log in attempts when I had never tried to log in. Over it, Barnes and Noble please fix your app. It’s awful..Version: 2.13

The Worst!It is as every other review has stated: HORRIBLE! I constantly receive error messages, it claims login failed due to too many attempts even after trying to login twice, is so glitchy it asks me to reset my password almost every single time. The only time it works is when I enter as a guest. But that defeats the purpose as I can't add to my wishlist, see how many stamps I have or save anything. Fire whoever is in charge of UXI see why this app has a 2.2 star rating now. It’s Black Friday and I can’t even sign into my account. Plus, the layout and navigation of this app makes no sense. It’s too difficult to find things. Don’t even get me started with the weird laggy/jumping scrolling on at least half of the pages. Signs out on its own and deletes cart all the time.I have to sign back into this app about every other time I open it up, my cart is constantly being deleted on its own. ( which has led me to not get multiple books simply due to not being about to remember titles.) The app is incredibly laggy and closes out on its own often. It will also change my store location on its on after I’ve switched it each time I check availability at store and it becomes a battle to finally get it set to right location. Pretty much as bad as everyone is sayingI love Barnes and noble and I use their membership program, but their app is atrocious. They had a different app that was awful and created this new one, only for it to be just as bad. Barnes & Noble what’s going on?Using this app has been an up and down roller coaster since I downloaded it. I’ve always been a shopper at the physical stores so a few years ago I decided to download the app to make things easier for myself. Some of the things I do here are price check for lower prices on books, check which locations have some and sometimes I ship if I don’t have the time to go out. But the app has been so unpredictable since the beginning. It takes forever to load anything, the app closes out on me often, and at random points in the day it’ll log me out and refuse to let me back in. I don’t know what’s going on but to anyone considering this app, just stick with the website!.Version: 2.13

Horrible AppI've been a member of Barnes & Noble for years, and even though the last app was pretty difficult to navigate, This one is 1 million times worse. I've had to reset my password every single time I've tried to login and then it just spins around and around and never lets me actually login. Nook app not available in CanadaI was ripped off by these people only to find out I need another app to read my bought book. It said that their nook app isn’t available in Canada. Why have it so that Canadians can buy books on this app in the first place?.Version: 2.4

Frequently crashesI’ll keep this short and to the point. This app regularly logs you out and will not allow you to log back in without completely deleting and redownloading the app…and sometimes even that doesn’t resolve the problem. Also, when you drop a title from your “save for later” section of the cart, the remaining titles get all mixed up (book image/book titles get jumbled up). There is no excuse for this to still be an issue, especially for an app directly linked to revenue and ease of shipping for the customer. I hope this is resolved so the shipping experience is improved..Version: 2.13

How bad can one app be?As a longtime loyal customer of Barnes & Noble, I am increasingly irritated by how awful their mobile app is. It is almost as if they don’t want you to use their app and force you to use their website instead. Today, I wanted to look up the availability of a new book I want to read and the app is useless. It just keeps flashing. In the past, when it has worked, it is slow and difficult to use. I am used to other brick & mortar stores with new, upgraded apps that will show you the exact location of the product you are looking for. Seriously?Between the lag and the errors of loading.. the worst is adding items to my cart only to to into my cart and all the item I added aren’t there and it’s full of stuff I didn’t actually put on my cart. Search Didn’t Show Results & FreezesSearched for a children’s book and found the one I wanted but when I searched for the same author knowing she had written several similar books, some of her books showed up but not the ones I wanted, which was strange. NEVER worksThis app literally never works, I try to buy books literally all the time and it just loads forever and does nothing or crashes. I’m sure they have lost SO much money from this app working this badly especially from premium members who want to buy books but never use desktop. Great when it worksIt signs me out constantly and when I enter my information it says error, but the same information works online. It crashes a lot. That said on the rarity it does work the app is really good. You can see your stamps and balance. Find books, browse, checkout and checkout pick up at store. App Does Not Work On iPad?What happened? Just downloaded the “new and improved” version and the only thing that works is the ability to log in. GUIs don’t work and the display is not optimized for my tablet. I deleted the app (new and old) and then redownloaded the current version from the App Store with the same non-working results. Great company. Terrible App.The app crashes consistently, for myself, and my friends. The app has sign in issues EVERY-TIME for us. It is cool you can order Starbucks on the app at your selected store when the app does decide to work, and the concept of the app is great as it will tell you if a book is available before you come and you can use it to put a book on hold. However the issues with it are far and plenty. The worst one recently was when the app was offline for 2 days or so last month. Around Black Friday time of all times. But the company is great and have good prices as well as a great membership value. I think the app should be scrapped and a new one should be made from scratch at this point. Surely they have people (if it takes more than one person) who regularly check on the heavily-trafficked user routes like this one, right? Only problems and frustrationsThis is maybe the worst app I’ve used. It seems like it doesn’t have to be this bad. Every time I open it, the app just flashes and never gets to the page. Even when it does get to the page, the pictures and menus are all wonky and unsearchable. Then, if I am able to make it to a page, I have to sign in each time I use the app and most of the time it won’t accept my sign in information. So, when I try to apply and use my member points, especially in store, it’s a hassle and frustrating to the employees of the store and to those in line behind me. I really think that BN can make this easier and simpler. I would buy from BN far more often if the app was functional, but it’s simply not worth the hassle..Version: 2.13

Never worksI’m a premium member at B&N and love shopping there and using my points. However, the app never works. It won’t even let into the app without saying “something went wrong, please try again later”. Every single time. I’ve deleted and redownloaded the app ten times. Needs New updateI love shopping at Barnes and noble but the one closest to me is about 45 minutes away.
