In particular, the fertilizer reminders are great. Specific directions for watering, and easy to use for tracking when to do what. Whatever else you might read further down, understand that these are comments for the app to improve, having already given the app an A+. I expect a lot of it because it has become so pragmatic to have it be part of how I keep my plants healthy, that I want it to be even better. It’s the best app I’ve seen for what it does best. Tracking indoor plant watering, compiling, organizing, fertilizing and cutting. Info info info. Things that can be better - Their premium access disease analysis needs to get better. I have full premium and their advice when I provide details and good pictures, lacks solid advice. I would like the access to what to do when something goes wrong with a plant to be more precise and to get more love support. Second- Sometimes their accuracy on plant identification is not yet 100%. I believe that with more users and time the app and it’s algorithms will improve drastically, but this is often not perfect. That said, it’s 85% accurate, in general, so far. Third - there is no access for cannabis plants. I am Canadian and I am legally allowed to grow them, so why does the app fail to help me on growing these also? A potential gold mine if it were introduced into the app. There is no plant app elsewhere that does this. Finally, fourth - it is useful for indoor plants only, and does not provide any details for expectations for how to tend to outdoor gardens or plantations. If it were able to synchronize with the local data of a users area, it could potentially offer advice re: watering, placement of plants, fertilization and propagation options, etc, easily into its interface in a way that could also potentially sense the users interior and exterior environments. Also a huge idea if anyone wants to follow that up. If the app listens, they might try to manage incorporating a number of ways a user could provide both more information to its system and more uses for it in a more explorative and exciting way. I believe this app has a huge heads start. 95% of my flowers and plants inside have survived and flourished since I starting using this app. And those that didn’t survive, I would blame on myself having overwatered or been oblivious of their care. ✓ My plants don’t die any moreI don’t know what more to say. I was overwatering, underwatering, providing too light or too much light, failing to prune… and I swear I was following the guides online. This app tells me based on the pot size, soil type, hemisphere, season, room temperature and sun exposure the best light levels, pruning times, fertiliser methods and water quantities - to the millilitre. My plants are thriving. My only concern is that it’s very expensive on a weekly subscription - prohibitively so. ✓ Family friendly AppFirst of all let me say I do not like having my kids on the phone or tablet and the TV is minimal in our house. But as soon as kids see a phone that want in on the action and the only way I could let them use it is for something educational. Both my kids love the outdoors and have recently started to look after our house plants, they are very young… My daughter (5 years old) likes to do things built herself and she started getting frustrated when I would tell her how to look after the plants because she believes they need good and love everyday like we do…. Now comes in the PlantIn app. That helped her scan our plants while I read to her all the information she really enjoyed the images with the temperature, season and moon phases and she’s been learning so much just because she cares about all the plants we come across. I found out the seller all the details about his departure and did everything right, but the ficus also began to fade. I was already completely desperate, but then I found out about this application. ✓ Add a better social system!I love this app and I mean LOVE this app. I want to be a botanist when I grow up and this app makes it easy to identify my plants and see what others are doing to make their plants better. The only thing I would suggest for this app would be adding a better social system. For example, making it so you could follow others, so you could see their posts daily (maybe in a different tab?). This would fix the issue of people posting progress pics and not being able to find their previous pictures or not being able to find them again at all. ✓ Super cool & intuitive appI have a bunch of plants and love creating succulent gardens from clippings and reviving dried up/ half dead plants from the side of the road or a friend who can’t handle the care of them. I’ve been able to take pretty good care of most and have a lovely garden of likely 40+ potted plants… Sometimes my adoptees have issues tho- recently had an aphid or spider mite problem, that started spreading to my other plants! I decided to finally give this app a try to see what the problem may be with a couple as well regarding their watering needs. Now I realize each plant is different in its care and I’m having fun learning what they need so I can make sure to water and feed appropriately. The weekly charge is super high at $7 so $28 per month is more than I spend on my pots, fertilizer and tools! It kinda makes the lifetime option the only one that makes sense. Idk, hopefully as time goes on they will make a longer trial period or a cheaper monthly subscription option. But either way, the app is easy/fun to use and super informative! It let’s you know when you water and feed and the identification while not perfect it did get 3 out of 4 right. (Still have a few more to try but happy with the results. The one it got wrong is a palm which to be fair is hard to get.) The part that identifies the issue with it seemed to work okay as well. My palm is either under or over watered (will check the roots when I get a chance) and the other plants are all okay and the app passed them as well. And everything was in order, but then healthy buds began to fall off. I was very upset because I wanted the flower to bloom. I asked my friends for advice, but no one could help me. Nobody faced the same problem as me. Then I downloaded this application and I was told that it might be that the water I was using was too cold. Water for irrigation should be soft and at room temperature. It is true, I took water directly from the tap and did not monitor its temperature at all. ✓ Helpful!Certainly helpful in identifying plants, it has only been wrong once in the handful of times I’ve used it; other times it gives me multiple options (& in those instances one of them has always been correct)—another instance it wasn’t sure so it had me put in a request for further assistance to identify…we shall see how that pans out. It hasn’t been the most accurate with identifying problems, sometimes it’s just too broad of an answer to be of much use, but I honestly haven’t had to utilize that feature enough yet to have an opinion one way or the other. Overall, I don’t think you can beat being able to take a picture & be met with the plant’s overview/general care info so quickly. So simple yet so profound for someone like myself, & the app just feels like it was (& is) a labor of love created for plant-people, by plant-people. ✓ HiI have a colleague at work, she is fond of growing house plants. She talked so fascinatingly about her hobby that I also got fired up with this idea. But when I bought myself a plant, it got sick almost immediately. I didn't know what to do. I turned to my colleague for advice at first, but it turned out that she herself is not very versed in ratios. She just used this application and on her advice I also downloaded it. ✓ I didn’t know I wanted to know so much about plantsMy friend had recently gifted me plant that I had no idea what it was or what I was going to do with it. So as any very very naive plant owner does is care for this plant how I think it needs to be done. After a few days of just doing the top of the soil check to see if I should water it or not and with how much water I thought was enough, was not cutting it. Some of the leaves were starting to change into a light yellow color which even can’t be mistaken as my new friend was sick. And unlike the last countless amount of plants that were unfortunate enough to be placed under my care, I actually want this sucker to live! So not knowing what even type of plant I was working with I went to the App Store and downloaded the first plant identifying app I saw. ✓ CoolI have an indoor potted citrus tree (grown from seed) that has a great sentimental value for me but that I have cared for improperly and it has been in very bad shape. I have somewhat improved in my care regiment and it has recovered but growing very tall and spindly, and now it has reached some 180cm in height and bumping in the ceiling of the windowsill. I had so many questions. Should I prune the plant? Or transplant somewhere outside? How much light and warmth is necessary for the cutting at this stage? I keep it at the windowsill but the light is muted and the weather cold. Would adding artificial lights help at this stage? I tried to find answers on the forms but to no avail. Then I downloaded this app and found all the answers I needed there. The experts explained to me in great detail everything that interested me and made a plan for leaving for the future.
