✓ I don’t mind a subscriptionCompletely willing to pay the $15 asking price for a subscription, completely understand that without a viable revenue approach it’s not sustainable. ✓ Potential is ThereThis is such a frustrating app. The fact that it’s one of the only apps on iPad that offers box-modeling makes it even moreso. This could be a useful app for real 3D modeling, but it’s missing some really basic and essential features that prevent it from getting there. -No snapping of any kind -No way to enter values for translations (which makes it impossible to re-center something on the grid if you’ve moved it) -No flat perspectives or isometric viewports Without these absolutely basic features, the app is little more than a novelty. Mirroring - I can’t make a model symmetrical, only reflect it in a particular plane. Undo - only able to undo last action Bevel - inconsistent response to adjusting segments. Can’t find orthographic view. Will persist for a bit to see if I can resolve… Updated 13/12/22 Changing to a 3* just to encourage devs moving in right direction. View frame freezes often after a few operations. Bake transform often doesn’t update until the gizmo is used to move object. Hit and miss! Use bridge between edges, adjusting segment count makes no apparent difference and tension/surface adjustments don’t change the shape of the geom. ✓ Terrible.Don't even download this piece of crap. It's a complete waste of money, and way to complicated. When I designed a model, which I was very proud of, it took me TWO HOURS. When I click out of the model, (said it auto saved.) it didn't save at all. When I checked my files,I saw nothing. This app just steals your money and doesn't even save you're stuff. ✓ Headed to nomadI just bought this app recently and found out the original version is now not receiving bug fixes which makes it useless as time progresses. I’m not mad at the subscription based pay method but cutting off the support for the app we already paid for ? ✓ Frustrating to useThe modeling itself is straight forward enough, however, the undo button swaps between the last two versions and when it does work how it should, it stops working after a while. I am using this to attempt to 3D model a mask, but there’s no way that I’ve found to hollow it out. Even with symmetry enabled, it has turned out uneven while using certain tools. I wish I could give this a higher rating as the modeling I was able to get done (before it was irreversibly mangled and the undo button not working) actually looked very good and I was able to do a lot, though I’ll be swapping to other software until the developers fix this. one last thing that isn’t a *huge* deal but it’s still worth noting, the tutorials are out of date and confusing to follow.Version: 2023.1.0

Seeking support from Maxon, I sent two emails providing details about my charge and purchase, but unfortunately, I received a generic response stating they couldn’t find any license on my account and requested more information without specifying what they needed. As a customer, I feel let down by the absence of effective customer care, making it challenging to resolve my concerns. ✓ Not usefulAs an avid user of Zbrushcore, I thought that I’d get Forger so that I can create concepts and sculpts whenever I’m away from my desk. However, I can’t see the point of being able to use reference images if the option to lock them to side, front and top views etc isn’t available..! I Can see the benefit if you want a quick reference as you sculpt, but if you want to work on a character from a T-pose, you’re out of luck because as soon as you rotate or zoom in, the image stays in place. ✓ Needs better walkthroughs.At first I didn’t know what to do or how to sculpt then I followed all the walkthroughs and I still don’t know what to do or how to sculpt. I did make a square wider then put some lines on the square in the first lesson. I do not know what those lines are or why they would be useful. I did make a lumpy sphere by touching it without a walkthrough guiding me. I do not know how to add a second shape or how to move my lumpy sphere. Again I followed every single walkthrough available to me. Probably a good program if you already know how to use it or can have YouTube open at all times. ✓ Meh- Maxon is worse than AdobeI’m a long time Zbrush user. Just like Adobe struggles to make Photoshop more than a half baked crippled app on the ipad. ✓ Classic GreedThere are really only two apps in the Apple eco system that can do sculpting and 3D painting and rendering. One is forger the other is nomad. Both were apps that you had to pay a one-time price. Forger has recently been bought by Maxon (makers of Cinema 4D). The first feature they announced to the community. Relegate the current build of forger to Classic, and reintroduce a new Forger app with a subscription based model. Maxon has also bought Pixologic. The makers of Zbrush. Which is the industry standard when it comes to sculpting on a desktop machine. Pixologic, just like Nomad had a one-time price, they increased the cost of the application as it grew in features but gave all users free upgrades. Again, the first feature Maxon announced after the purchase is there will be no more free upgrades and they will now switch to a subscription based model. See the trend? If you are reading Maxon, you have alienated users. Without hesitation the first thing you have raced to do it put a subscription model in place. You the offer the people nothing and you want them to continuously pay for it. Zbrush is in a great state that i will never need to purchase the subscription model and to be honest, Forger is as good as Nomad. Good luck with your decisions! ✓ Good start but needs a bit moreI paid for a year as it's not much for trying to use it as part of a polygonal modelling workflow (so my comments don't really cover sculpting which seems fairly usable). It's actually a pretty good start and would be very good if they added some simple things like boolean operations, poking a vertex into a face, easy numerical values input for things like translations, that kind of basic stuff. Without that you're pretty limited in terms of what you can achieve in a sensible amount of time, and in terms of dimensional accuracy. ✓ Why is the hemisphere removed?When i wanna create something new i realized theres not even a hemisphere on the add scenes, idk if thats the way the update is or not but is helpful for me to make characters that have a hemisphere body if a person wanna make a person or whatever using a hemisphere. ✓ A Total SCAMThey artificially limit funtionality to resctrict model export behind a subscription paywall. That is some of the most incredibly scummy behavior I’ve ever seen on the App Store. Maxon, if I create a model using your app, I have every legal right to use that model in whatever program I want. Screw you for locking model export behind a paywall. It does not, in any capacity, hurt your bottom line to let me use my creations in the program of my choice. And it definitely does make me entirely disinclined to use any of your other products, ever. I will wait to see if this subscription version introduces new features faster and more regularly than the classic. ✓ Could be goodI was messing around with the app trying to sculpt a head and ultimately had to put it down because the symmetry just doesn’t work right. It seems the further from the center you get, the less accurate the symmetry is. It’s a shame, if it weren’t for that this app would be pretty good. ✓ Please fix this appI enjoy the sculpture features and think they are good for a free app. However some tools are very difficult to use especially the transform tool. When using this tool the arrows needed to move and object appear very far below it, making the user have to zoom out to transform their object. This makes it nearly impossible to get precise placement. As well as this the color tool is very pixelated and the brush size is limited to a medium size, so small details can not be added. ✓ Get Nomad Sculpt insteadI paid money for this, didn’t like it much switched to Nomad. Nomad has a much nicer interface. However I was having trouble exporting UV’s so I wanted to see if Forger had any UV functions. I look for the app and see it’s a subscription now. If we paid for the app we should own it. So yeah get Nomad, looks nicer, is more powerful, and it’s a 1 time payment. No greedy subscription. ✓ Tried this new oneI have “classic” which just means i bought it before it went to sub base.. git a pop up on it offering free year to this new one. The old one wont receive updates now.
