Hurricane Tracker for Negative User Reviews

Better last yearIt was far more simple and easy to use last year, now over complicated and clunky, possibly just too technical for me....Version: 3.4

Wish hurricane pro would come backIf you have experience tracking storms, this app is actually pretty poor. Graphs are slow to update and are basically just downloads from the national hurricane center and readily available satellite imagery and storm tracks. Even found outdated information on storms still posted (Beryl still showing as tropical storm in wrong location when it has turned into a low). I guess it can work for some basic needs but was hoping it would offer some added value. Are there even forecasters associated with the app? Missing the hurricane pro app - it was significantly better..Version: 5.0.4

This app is garbageThis app is garbage. There are no back controls and info is the same from another source. Don't waste your money!.Version: 3.6

Could be great... butI don’t think anyone actively monitors this app and it’s source data any longer. All of the functionality is there for it to be a great app. And it does work great as my go to but only after the hurricane is bearing down on us in Baja. I have sent messages into the designer about why it always says “No Active East Pacific Tropical Systems” when there is clearly a tropical storm forming (listed as TS Elsewhere, not my laymen opinion). I have gotten no responses to this question from the designer and this is a consistent pattern. TSs are not noted or researchable through the app until it’s is a Hurricane less then 500nm from landfall. Would love to see the improvements!!.Version: 5.0.4

Very inconsistentAlerts are very inconsistent, have to open app in order to review storms..Version: 5.0.4

Needs better designI like the function of the app, but it really needs to be better designed. Right now it’s just a patchwork of existing content collected in a clunky presentation. Hire a graphic designer!.Version: 5.0.4

No goodI'm trying to track the current OHO on the west coast so I bought this app. According to this app there is not even a storm on the west coast. I want my money back..Version: 4.2

Don’t use if you live in the pacificThis app used to be my go to for tracking storms in the east pacific for a couple years Getting warning of approaching storms is important for those of us living in Hawaii. Unfortunately this app seems to have stopped working for us here. I have not been able to get accurate info about the eastern pacific for a very long time. The app is currently saying there are no storms to track in the eastern pacific. This is despite the fact that there are literally 2 storms in the eastern pacific, one of which is a category 4 hurricane, clearly visible in all the maps provided by the app. I am not able to get any info or see the forecast track for either of these storms. What good is this app if it doesn’t provide an early warning or display accurate, up to date information?.Version: 5.0.4

Save ImageLoved this app & it was so very helpful last year during hurricane season (I live in Florida). TS Arthur is now out there so checked the app for the first time this season. They have taken away the ability to save images/gifs which I do all the time & used to be able to do. The saddest part about the whole thing is the images are not even theirs to protect as they belong to the National Hurricane Center (NHC). I can go right now to the NHC website & save the exact same images from there as they permit saving. I just liked using the app. I upgraded my iPhone from an 8 to an iPhone 11 Pro shortly after it came out & it seems maybe that’s when things changed & the ability to save images was removed. I wanted to send an email to the App owner/developer to let them know as maybe this was inadvertent (& maybe it has something to do with the new iPhone) but there’s no way to contact them (other than twitter which I don’t know how to do) so my only option is to leave this review. PLEASE FIX THE ABILITY TO SAVE IMAGES If that is done, I will immediately come back & update this review. Until then I will no longer be using this app and will be getting my TS/hurricane information from the NHC which of course is FREE!!.Version: 5.0.4

Hidden subscriptionThere is no indication of any subscription in the App Store, yet after purchasing this app it prompts you to subscribe for “premium graphics” at $25 a year via a PayPal link. Also, the app itself looks incredibly dated, is painfully slow and appears to load all content remotely - it’s basically just a wrapper for a private website. All reviews prior to this are at least 4yrs old, so I can only assume it was better years ago. Now it’s clearly out-of-date with a backdoor cash grab. There are other good hurricane tracking apps on the App Store with legitimate subscriptions or one-off payments. Would recommend trying one of those and staying clear of this one..Version: 5.1

Irregularities to make you worryToday the eastern pacific status line show all quiet, while the info below it shows 3 active storms, and the 5-day outlook map has the “no active eastern pacific storms” overlaid on the 3 currently active storms on the diagram. This sort of irregularity of inconsistent data or timeliness of updates makes this app interesting, but perhaps not a reliable source. I attempted to bring this quality issue to the attention of the developers before I added a review, but it doesn’t recognize that I purchased the app..Version: 5.0.5

Access Problems/No RemediesThis application displays good graphics with useful information, but (for some unimaginable reason) they lock you out from accessing premium features you have already purchased; and they will not accept the password copied from their own email in response to their ‘Forgot Password’ function. However, they will accept your money for the service they deny you to access. No telephone number is provided to obtain assistance and this is absolutely inexcusable!.Version: 5.1

Poor designA poorly designed app and very sluggish. A waste of money..Version: 5.0.4

Buyer Beware of Premium GraphicsA year ago I signed up and paid to access premium graphics due to some tropical weather in my area. When I did that I did not realize that I was signing a service agreement with PayPal and would be charged $25 every year for the service. I contacted the app owner and they said there was nothing they could do because I had unknowingly entered into the agreement with PayPal thru their app. The premium graphics don’t really provide that much more insight into a storm, so I would avoid them, and the charges associated with them, and just use the free part..Version: 5.0.4

Fraud and Scam! You are warnedAfter reading the reviews and rating, I fell into the trap that this was a great app. It is a scam, the app is not worth 4 dollars. I will call Apple for a full refund! Scammers.Version: 4.2
