I have found one or two typographical errors, but other than that I have nothing to regret in buying this App. If you are unfamiliar with Matthew Henry and are seeking a commentary that runs circles around the modern fluff, this is the one you want. I have only experienced one technical issue with it so far; in the commentary on Luke chapter 5, the page will not go past verse 37 and there are 39 verses in the chapter..Version: 13.0

Henry's commentary is usually one of my go to's for personal study and also sermon prep but to have it accessible on a mobile device just makes it all the more convenient. Not to mention it's very easy to use. You can jump from one book to another one chapter to another or one verse to another immediately. The App is, however, somewhat basic in design, with 3 main functions, which includes a passage selection tool, a search option and a forward and back chapter navigator. There is also a handy option to open, view and then close passage references throughout the commentary by clicking on them in the main body of the commentary text without navigating away from the page you are on. One disappointment is the fact that you cannot alter the background colour [which is why I have only rated it 4 star]. The white background is quite tiring on the eye, especially as such text involves intense study. On suggestion to TimBecca that this could be an area for improvement, they are satisfied that users can adjust their individual settings on their devises to invert colours or reduce brightness to accommodate eye strain reduction..Version: 7.0

To some that might be off-putting, but to me it brings a richness that fills my canvas of understanding more fully. The layout is hard to read as the lines are long and close together, but you just deal with it because it will deliver depth! The selection of book, chapter, and so on is very easy to manipulate. ✓ MHCAwesome app. God gave this man so much wisdom. I love his language and that KJV was the main translation of his day. So many modern commentaries use the modern perverted versions. He is very clear and challenges readers to look up word definitions. Would not not to be without it. I bought 6 volume hard copy and always to have non digital materials. ✓ ExcellentThe commentary itself is familiar to many as a defining work from a man endued of God with great wisdom and insight. Apparently Spurgeon used to tell his students: "if you don't have a copy of Matthew Henry, sell your coat and buy one and then preach in your shirt-sleeves". I guess in which case that makes this app great value. Spurgeon also considered him one of the wisest commentators, certainly the best for family reading. I concur. ✓ Lots of typosI use this app often, but nearly every time I do, I find typos. I’m an editor so maybe I look more carefully at it than most. I can usually figure out from context what the words should be, but newbies could be confused, to say the least, with things like this on 1 John 5:18-21: “It is a great happiness to know the true God, to know him in Christ; it is eternal lie.” The reference is John 17:3 —“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. Obviously, the word “lie” should be “life”, but if you don’t know the Bible and don’t click on the reference,…. Does anyone know how to send corrections to the developer? ✓ Fantastic referenceI use MHC frequently and it has been such a blessing for me. I have the 6 volume MHC set but using my Apple device is so much quicker and accessible. I really like that the associated verses are one click away! I do have two recommendations for this app. The first is that the place on the page not change when shifting between portrait and landscape view and vice-versa. The second is for bookmarks to be available for us to use. There have been many times when I would like to stop where I'm reading and go to another section of the commentary. There is a LOT of content in this app and having a history of which chapter you are reading is nice but it doesn't allow you to easily get back to where you actually stopped reading, if you decide to go somewhere else.
