What is Myotomes? Description of Myotomes

Where's the lesion? Myotomes is a handy quick reference guide to the neurological motor examination. It was designed by a neurologist as a ready-reference for use when examining a patient.

It lists the commonly tested movements of the upper and lower limbs, and the nerve roots, muscles and nerves that they test.

Each item can be clicked to filter the lists - so clicking C7 shows you all the movements and muscles supplied by C7. Clicking radial nerve shows you the movements and muscles supplied by the radial nerve.

A separate list covers all the commonly (and less commonly) tested reflexes and their nerve roots.

Consult a doctor if you are experiencing neurological symptoms. This app should not be relied upon to make clinical decisions, which remain the full responsibility of the user.

Myotomes is an essential reference for neurologists, emergency physicians, family doctors, medical students, paramedics, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths and other medical professionals – or anyone curious about neuroanatomy and the workings of the human body.

Myotomes Pros

Really nifty little appGreat little app that helps to localize pathology based on motor examination. Love it.NzdocVersion: 0

Excellent appThis app is great! Unless you are a practising neurologist, it is hard to remember all the nerve innvervation to the upper and lower limbs. However, such knowledge is vital for anyone who assess patient with spinal pathology. The app is very intuitive, the colour coding makes navigating within the app very enjoyable. I am so much more confident with my neuro exam because of this app. Well worth the money!.Benjamin TangVersion: 0
