What is Maestro? Description of Maestro 2694 chars
An extremely customizable metronome that inspires musical expression rather than mechanical execution. When practicing with this metronome, the animated beat patterns will reinforce the peripheral vision used when following a conductor.
Resize the pattern to fit into the corner or cover the entire screen. Drag the pattern anywhere you want. Customize the colors and transparencies of the baton, pattern, and background. Make the pattern and background disappear completely! Make the baton translucent so moving over the music is less distracting and more musically guiding. Adjust the background color and decrease the transparency to isolate the pattern from other applications.
Be able to practice without the click, while keeping to a strict tempo. Always know where you are INSIDE the beat with the traditional musical beat patterns developed over ages of musical performance practice, not an arbitrary circle for all meters and styles.
This metronome is an invaluable learning tool for conductors when using the Conductor's Point of View, and performers when using the Performer's Point of View.
All the conducting patterns are based on Max Rudolf's "Grammar of Conducting" and my professional conducting experience of 20+ years.
Features:
• Adjust the tempo, 10 to 300 bpm, by dragging the slider, using the up and down arrow keys, or the up and down buttons next to the tempo display
• 48 different beat patterns (meters): 1 through 12(3+3+3+3)
• Staccato, Normal, Legato, and Reduced (see below) pattern styles
• Patterns are displayed from the Performer's or Conductor's point of view
• 1, 2, 3, or 4 subdivisions of the beat
• Show or hide the beat numbers as it conducts
• 0, 1, or 2 'pick-up' beats
• Choose from 16 presets including clicks, drums, shakers, hi-hats, etc.
A note about pattern variations and reductions:
A 5/4 bar can be divided either 3+2 or 2+3 depending on the music.
The 'Reduced' style:
At faster tempos, a legato 3 pattern turns into a one pattern while still clicking the three beats. A 6(2+2+2) changes into 3 while a 6(3+3) changes into 2 while still clicking 6 beats.
Checking the ‘Tempo Reduces Pattern’ box automatically adjusts the pattern when the tempo reaches a level that requires it. Checking the ‘Reduced Pattern’ box forces the reduced pattern at ALL tempos.
Conductor's Point of View - automatically flips the beat pattern for conductors to learn and practice the patterns. This mode shows you the path the tip of your baton should take while conducting.
Performer’s Point of View - the conductor’s beat pattern as seen from the ensemble musicians. Recommended view while practicing your instrument.

✓ Great Teaching ToolThis is an awesome Metronome App. I have used it with lterally thousands of students and help them visualize and hear different meters. Worth every penny..Version: 3.1
✓ Simple AppVery simple App and easy to use. I bought this to improve my timing skills associated with watching the conductor in the orchestra. I have it installed on my computer and its like a virtual conductor conducting away in my peripheral vision. You set the bmp to what you want ( anthing up to 300 bpm) and you can chose bar time signatures from 1 beat through to 12 beats in a bar i.e. options for 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10.11,12 beats per bar. The app opens with a semi transparent window over your desktop which means that you can open a peice of music and have the conductor pattern conducting away over the top of whatever you have on screen at the time. The semi transparent background can very easily be adjusted to completely tranparent or completely opaque. It doesn't have sequences for alternating times say for example a bar in 5/4 then a bar in 4/4 then back to 5/4 as you might find in the middle of a piece of music however if you have a straight time throughout the piece of music then the App is for you. It doesnt count x bars its just like a conducting metronome. Good value and simple - a winning combination !.Version: 1.1

✗ Great for mimicking a conductor. Not for everyone.CON: No tap tempo. No volume control. No way to make entire conductor baton interface disappear (I don’t need it). No way to make all click sounds the same (when practicing scales, etc., I don’t want a different sound on the downbeat) other than changing meter to 1/4. It was my mistake for assuming these would be included in such a feature-rich app, but I wish I could have tested this out before purchasing. PRO If you don’t need those things and just want to follow a customizable conductor’s baton, it’s great..Version: 1.1
