✓ Ads are too much!So frustrating to have so many ads, that are so hard to bypass..Version: 10.1
✓ Extremely poorThis app tries to force you to pay to remove ads even if you don’t mind ads by removing features as well. The app maker should simply not offer a free version if what they actually intend is a paid version. I resent the strong arm tactics to pretend that they offer a free version when in fact all they want to do is threaten you with removal of features if you don’t pay “to remove ads.” What they mean is that it is a trial version of a paid app and not a free app. They should say what they mean instead of pretending otherwise. Being straightforward is more impressive to me than lying. So I am going to delete this app. It doesn’t do anything I can’t get from another app anyway..Version: 10.1
✓ App no longer compatible with anything other than iOS 6 (aka newer iPhone/iPad)Since the latest update - optimized for iPhone 5/iOS 6, the app hasn't worked on my iPod Touch. If you can't write an app that is backwards compatible, at least indicate to us that we can no longer use this app on our older platforms! ✓ Nope! Now.Nope. Uh-uh. Won’t recommend. We currently have a potential Cat 4 hurricane bearing and I can’t navigate past ads for Final Fantasy and some tiki monkey junk. App is phenomenal if you wanna know if it’ll snow on Christmas Day, but if you life depends on it. Heck, I’ll stick with the local meteorologists. ✓ Usless due to adsWhat happened to the app? I know we are in times that many people and companies desperately need money, but now every time I click any item, an ad pops up. The annoying thing is that it doesn’t go away AND there is no “x” or “skip” to exit the ad. I think that’s ilegal, btw. ✓ Needs Lots of Work.First time I opened app it didn't update info. When you finally get it, you have to look up info. Not hard to do but time consuming. There should be a shortcut menu like Hurricane Tracker, which uses all of NOAA info, maps and satellite images..Version: 1.1

✓ Almost killed meI now HATE this app. At first it gave me the options to “never use your location” “only use your location while using this app” “ always use your location” well I chose the second one, but then it said saving your location, then it said this app will always use my location. The app actually works fine, it is 💯 garenteed to be right! 😁 However a week later someone hacked my account then found my location while I was reading a book. ✓ Very disappointedI was looking for NOAA hurricane information.. projected track, wind speed probabilities, etc that you find on the NOAA Hurricane Center web page.. so, all the pretty pictures they have in their ad just are not available in this app... only gives satellite images (which are pretty, but not very informative), and the text updates that are releases 4x per day (they are informative, but a lot of info to sift through).. there is other information , but hurricane info is very limited.. so disappointed...Version: 6.3
✓ Misleading name for app suggests this is an ‘official’ app….it is notNot an official app. Just basic and generic app full if waiting on ads to end to get up to date hurricane info. Don’t waste your time or battery life using this app in an actual storm zone. At least be a better app if you are going to force people to pay and/or sit through ads. I don’t need an app that does nothing but show me a Lending Tree ad over and over again! 7/31 - problem was corrected but has not stayed corrected. ✓ Drained phone 20% while not in use, won’t let me turn it offThis app has decided it wants to run 24/7 in the background. Tried to turn off location services, and it won’t let me. ✓ Unstable and questionably accurate if thatAfter using this one for years I have found that the categorizing of images which are FREE from NOAA are not consistent with what images cover what regions. It is not uncommon for the app to crash then you have to restart the app yet again which is more than an annoyance. ✓ ChangedOriginally this app had local radar, then after a short time, it was stopped, there are many pop up ads to deal with that cover the whole screen and you have to wait the time period with each one. Now it pops up with an ad for their new weather app which has weather radar. I won't get anything else from them, it's a bait and switch..Version: 6.3
✓ Great but horribleThe app itself is exactly what you’re looking for. Great information with no fluff. Well laid out, data driven, easily digestible. That being said, if you don’t pay for the ad free use, it’s completely useless. The adds start as soon as you click on anything and continue for several minutes. ✓ Ads ruin the AppAlthough the information in Global Storms is very helpful, the video ads make it nearly impossible to use. Ads pop up all the time and they are often impossible to close or skip, meaning I must shut down the App and try again. You guys should consider testing your app on a iPad so you encounter this frustrating problem. Update …. It’s gotten worse. The ads for games are out of control and the Skip Video button doesn’t work. I assume they added that button just to be extra annoying to users..Version: 12.20

Today when I used the app for the first time this year to check on Cristobal’s storm track, an app popped up. Fine. However, there was no way to close the app. Not fine. So now I have no advance warning on what could very well be the next Katrina because some predatory lender wants me to apply for a loan? Every single time you go to a new screen, an ad pops up and there’s no way to close it....EVERY. TIME. So you wait 10-15 seconds for it to close on it’s own and/or give you the option to close the ad...nothing happens so you have to minimize the app and open it back up for it to move on to the next screen...nobody has time for that in a weather emergency. ✓ Disengenuous - bewareI was astonished to find that the app does NOT follow its own settings...when you first set it up, you are given three choices as a setting: (1) Never use your location (2) Use your location only while using app (3) Always use your location Well, I chose (2), because I thought it only fair that an application might need your location info while you are using it, so that it runs more efficiently or better, etc. However, after I left the application - stopping it, I noticed that I still have a banner running at the top of my screen which says,”NOAA Now is Actively Using Your Location. I went to the website to the privacy information located at the bottom of the page, and was informed that the company that runs and oh AAA now does not knowingly pass your personal information on to anyone. That being said, if that is the case then why does it need to run in the background, even when you have left the application and closed it? Because what it is telling you is not actually what it does. For that reason I am uninstalling this application and sending a notice to the Better Business Bureau about the company’s misrepresentation of its product. Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware (even though this application version it’s free).Version: 5.6
✓ Useful app, horrible advertisingI used to really like this app. It contained the latest, most useful information. That being said I’ve stopped using it because with the last update brought a new advertising feature. Now, just about everything you try to do in the app brings up an advertisement for something. Some ads are only a few seconds long, others a half a minute. Mostly harmless but extremely annoying, every time you tap to view something different, an ad pops up. I’m done with it! ✓ **AVOID ITS A SCAM****Update** CS refuses to respond to emails. Stay away from any of this companies apps. They just want your money. Do not subscribe to anything or turn on location services or notifications. This new company has now started scamming people for information that’s available on NOAA website. The previous owner of NOAA Now used to have a $9.99 fully functional app called NOAA now pro. They discontinued the paid version so that they can make more money by charging a reoccurring monthly fee to remove the bloat ware that they added to the free app. Don’t support these companies that offer a paid full version then take it away and only offer a subscription to get rid of the rubbish. Don’t download it even though it’s free because you’re only going to encourage other app developers with paid apps to do the same.
