✓ It’s a well made appAside from a bit of lag,I really enjoy using medibang pro. the UI is easy to get accustomed to, the brushes are excellent too, somewhat standard but overalls I still find it quite nice. Maybe if it had some other features like Timelapse could consider it premium but other than that I’ll give it a solid 4..Version: 1.0.21
✓ Drawing experience is amazing but main menu/ gallery issues get on my nerves1. You HAVE to go to the settings inside the art piece to download or share it 2. You can’t edit brushes (aside from one or two things) and you can’t make your own brushes 3. When you put a piece of art in a folder, there is no way to take it out of the folder (I tried everything i could, please fix it) 4. Custom canvases dont save so you need to retype the canvas size and canvas color EVERY TIME, nor can you edit the pre-existing canvases 5. You can’t leave your piece of art without saving these are literally the only problems I have with the app, everything else is perfect/ near perfect.Version: 1.0.20
✓ Good, but needs some FixesMedibang Pro has the potential to be a great drawing app, but as it stands it’s really just worse, but ad free version of the original medibang. It’s been about a month since my free trial ran out so my review is from my first impressions: Some Pros compared to the original: The effects options are great and there’s lots of new textures. The interface is a lot like procreate but it has features for fill and selection that procreate desperately needs. The new brushes are also nice. Otherwise, pretty much all of the features from the old medibang. However, there are some that are missing. The cons: 1. Tools often close themselves when selecting other tools. For example, the selection tool will stop selecting if trying to switch to the layers to turn on another layer. You cannot have both open at the same time. Very annoying for complex selections that need layers turned on and off. You can do this in medibang no problem. Same thing with the other tools, (ruler/guides, shapes, etc) meaning you have to constantly turn them back on when switching layers. If I also remember correctly from using it, you can’t undo individual selections without releasing the entire canvas, though you may have been able to get around this with undo gestures turned on. 2. The comic panel tool. Given medibang is very much a manga creation app, you’d expect this to be a big selling point if they want their users to move. However, I can’t seem to figure out how to customize the shape of any panels beyond what’s drawn in. Maybe the tool exists but because of limited documentation, I can’t find it. 3. Custom brushes. Don’t know if this exists, couldn’t find any way to do it. 4. Moving text is very annoying and requires you to select the text on the panel instead of the layer. Because editing the text also requires you to select the text on the page, sometimes you’ll try to move it and it will open the options. The original text interface in medibang is far easier to use. There may be some problems I’m forgetting but those are the big ones that stood out to me. As it stands, I cannot recommend this app over the original medibang despite how annoying the subscription service ads are. Until Medibang pro is at the very least up to the standard of the original, it’s really not worth the switch however I find it, overall, better than other drawing apps I’ve used. I’d give it 3.5/5 stars..Version: 1.0.23

✓ It's great, but theres a few bugs.Okay I like this app, but theres a few issues with it. I'm guessing it's because the app came out like a few months ago or whatever. First, my drawings randomly dissapear and i have to undo to fix it, which is pretty annoying. Next, whenever i change the brush size, the square showing it gets stuck and I have to change the size again. Thats pretty much it. I hope the devs see this or something and try to fix it..Version: 1.0.8

✓ Love It!This is by far one of the best apps compatible for IPad, it has a huge interface so it makes sense it wouldn’t be available to IPhone. It has many many tools, user friendly, and overall a great app for artist like me! It has a variety of tools to select from, from brushes, pens, paint, etc. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a more than professional app that meets your expectations!.Version: 1.0.21

✓ Easy to exploreI’ve never heard of Mediabang but for some reason it popped up when I searched for the excellent camera app Hydra. I’m not sure I want to learn another drawing app but this has a big thing going for it- a recognizable user interface (UI). I’ve been re-trying photo editing apps lately so I can clean out the garbage and, I gotta say, some of the UIs I reencountered were absurd. I’ve used all of them before so I shouldn’t have been struggling but sometimes doing what everyone else is doing is a good thing. Why labor over reinventing something just because you can, especially when the point is to just look diffferent? Don’t think lousy UIs is just a drawing and editing problem- I’ve been struggling for over a year to find a workable notes app. I love the native Apple notes with a very simple, straightforward, and clean look but it’s been crashing whenever I try to retrieve anything from my notes. There are dozens, if not hundreds of notes apps available and so many have their own charming look that then fails utterly in practice..Version: 1.0.6
✓ Prefer old MediBang interface lookSo far I like using the app but one thing that bothers me that I heavily prefer the old MediBang interface (kinda looks like Photoshop on iPad) one thing I like is how easy it is to tap on shortcuts menu. ✓ I like it but it’s missing MediBang featuresUpdate: can we have thumbnail previews for MediBang files in the Files app? That would be great! Thanks — I *love* that they’re using the Procreate interface. I couldn’t use the old MediBang much because of the interface, but I prefer their brush engine, so I’m glad they’re taking from Procreate. Also, why does it overwrite the creation date every time we save? This was a problem in the first MediBang. Sad to see it happen here. I have to duplicate my files every time. Also, it lacks recording your drawing process, which the original MediBang has. Please implement this. Also, can the app icon be cuter? Thank you! ✓ Loving it so far!I bought Medibang pro after trying out the trial version and I’m very happy with my purchase! One thing I wish was better though is the transform tool and selection tool. ✓ Edited review Medibang pro is really nice!I like how there’s no limit on how many layers we’re using. But I feel like the blur brush needs to be more wet? idk like a watercolor blur brush feeling. ✓ Procreate competitionApp is crazy good and unlike procreate you can clip mask folders which is huge for ppl like me who are accustomed to clip studio paint. I hope in future updates it has some type of dynamic brush scaling like procreate and some brush Imports too. Also another note is 72 dpi being insanely crisp which is suspicious and I gotta figure out why.Version: 1.1.0
✓ Feature it should add, or expand on.The transform tool makes things a little grainy. Pin light, and glow add would be nice blending modes to add. The blending modes are a little desaturated and don't work as well as they do on other apps. Colour history would be nice, maybe a complementary colour system like procreate could expand it, but some people might just call that copying. Adding a material to the canvas should create a new layer. Adding a better brush editor would make you app more accessible to more people, also add a new side to the community that uses the app. I love the way the brushes feel, I also like the UI. This program is pretty good right now, but doesn't have a lot of things to put it against other apps, this has so much potential, and the recommendations above are somethings you could add to make it better..Version: 1.1.0
