✓ Since the change, the app no longer worksI loved this app but I can’t even boot it up. I spent years creating assets and developing work but I can’t even access it anymore. If the app worked, I’d give it 5 stars. But as it is now, even one star is too much..Version: 6.0.4
✓ I am extremely disappointed.Until today, I used this app a minimum of 6 times per week. It was my favorite photo editing app. I updated my phone about a week ago and the app practically stopped working. I searched for an update and couldn’t find one, so I tried to delete it and re-download it. As soon as I re-downloaded it, I tried to restore my purchase of FontCandy+ and I couldn’t. Instead, I was being asked to pay a monthly fee... despite that I’ve already paid for this app... I’m so disappointed and frustrated to know that I’ll have to find a different app for editing. ✓ Keeps crashingWas fine up until about a month ago, now the app crashes every 5 seconds and it’s unusable. Also the templates would be much more useful if they saved the ratio of the image as well. You can choose a template that you used for an Instagram story but it defaults back to default size when the click on the template which means you have to readjust all the text again..Version: 6.0.4

✓ From good to bad.When I first starting using this app, it was great, but several months later it became really slow to load/respond. ✓ A fun agile type app ruinedI downloaded the first versions of this app quite a few years ago and used it a lot. Finally, there was an app that allowed you to professionally adjust your type: letterspacing, line-spacing, and word-spacing (a very rare feature outside photoshop), and also the ability to set paragraphs of text in “justified” format. Like so many other type apps, there was no individual kerning, but there was an array of cool free fonts, and most critically, you could also load your own fonts. This made Font Candy a flexible, fun appto use when you just wanted to make a quick layout, without going into Photoshop. Sadly, that version is dead, replaced by this Instagrammy fangirl version. And on top of that a formerly free app is now on two dollars a week?! Are you kidding me? I would pay maybe, $25 a year. And if you could give me individual kerning, I’d pay maybe even $50 a year. But at the rate of two dollars a week, that’s an outrageous $104 a year. Get real. I’m all for developers getting paid so they can continue to provide and improve the app, but I’m afraid the developers of FontCandy have an unrealistic self appraisal of their app. It’s just not worth that price. I’ll just use Phonto-Pro, or fire up Photoshop..Version: 6.0.3
✓ Terrible usability since the updateThis was my all time favourite app, used it for over a year, even paid the weekly subscription rate and didn’t mind... Since the update it’s now borderline unusable, you can’t do what you used to be able to, the freedom to create has been takin away. Horrendous update. I’ve already canceled my subscription and have begun looking for another app to take its place. If you guys ever offer a downgrade to the old version I’d would gladly resubscribe once again. ✓ Really TerribleI can’t list the number of ways this app is terrible. But I’ll try. You can’t start with a blank canvas. You can’t start with a saved template. Stuck in landscape mode. Can’t adjust canvas size or resolution. Text blocks shrink when you try to edit them, makes cursor placement and editing really difficult. Uses inaccurate sliders to adjust sizes instead of numbers, point sizes, etc. limited range of picture filters and effects. No access to prenistalled system fonts. If you are doing large fonts on previously prepared photos, might be ok. But you might as well do that in Photoshop. In addition, a year later from when I paid full price for this app it is now demanding a monthly subscription payment, has removed various features and fonts, has stuck a watermark in the bottom corner that I have to crop out. ✓ What happened?!?!!!!!I bought font candy pro probably little less than 2 years ago. But for the past few months it’s been crashing acting stupid a little slow but I dealt with it. Now for the past few weeks it’s kind of become unusable! Which makes me very upset because I absolutely LOVE this app this is my favorite app to use for my photos. So I search the App Store for this app today and only the free one popped up my paid one is gone! So I paid for it’s gone and it’s unusable! The new app that is free for the pro version it wants me to pay $.99 every WEEK! I already paid for the pro version I should not have to pay for anything else again!! ✓ Oof... So this is what it's becomeAnother one bites the dust? I frequently skip versions on my apps and that makes it all the more jarring and disappointing when good UI goes down the drain. This app used to be so clear and minimal. Text is now an absolute monster to work with. I'm unsurprised to see this app jump onto the subscription model bandwagon, but VERY surprised by what a bad deal that subscription is. Most similar apps at least offer a non-sub way to remove the watermark if you just want your old, basic experience back with no bells or whistles. (Other options, like removing the watermark for $0.99, show up in the in-app purchases, yet only the subscription appears to be available within the interface? Huh?) This was one of my favorite, most used apps and there are a lot of paid options I would have gone for, but this one is just weirdly steep for how little I want from the app. I'll echo what others have said by saying that this app is "ruined" and that it's pay model is "greedy". ✓ Unethical PracticesSo I’ve used Font Candy for a few years and I’ve used the previous versions. I paid to have the font Candy logo off of my materials. The company has redesigned there format (not a problem) but now they won’t honor my previous purchase. They are suppose to restore purchases and they won’t. That’s bad business practices and I’m actually shock that Apple don’t know about this. If you pay for something it’s yours unless the app or service is no longer in existence. ✓ Crashing GaloreThis has been my go-to app since I started my blog and I even PURCHASED their other app for more fonts etc. because I loved it so much. I’m not usually one to write reviews on apps or even products but it has gotten to the point of aggravation with this app. I PAID for their app and still it crashes and stops working and I hadn’t had an update in a while. As a paying customer I expect better service, especially since I use this for my blog. ✓ Declined FunctionalityNot sure what happened with FontCandy since they started charging for it in Dec. The app often crashes & I have to delete it and reinstall. In doing so I loose all of my templates. I have to do this about twice a week!!! And the option to import a font isn't working either...! Maybe the designers thought that adding a sleeker interface would justify the new charges - but it doesn't if we loose functionality. Aug. 20: the app always crashes when I try to add artwork. I have to remove the app & reinstall to add artwork & in so doing - I loose all my templates. Functionality has declined since Font Candy started charging! Isn't the opposite supposed to happen?! ✓ Fonts are neat. Some things need tweaking.So I like being able to add text to my photos to get the poster look. Having the ability to order magnets, t-shirts, & pillows is neat too! However, when my photo is uploaded to those product templates it always cuts off the majority of my text and/or photo. The cropping isn't shrinkable but only zoomable. It would also be handy to have the sizes of 4x6, 5x6, and 8x10 available so that after utilizing the text features a person could print or order those size photos without having to use another application, like Snapfish. Also when adding the text in it lets you increase size and shrink text size but it would be better if you could set the perimeters so there are margins and the text doesn't run off the page when it is increased in size..Version: 5.2.2

✓ AnnoyingAdmittedly, I didn't persist for longer than 2 days but the level of annoyance this app caused me just didn't allow for longer. First of all the image and added text shrinks to unusable mini size in some editing steps, then I saw that despite downloading the free version I had a deduction on my credit card without being made aware that I made an inapp puchase (I assume that is what happened) and then I have to put up with the annoyance of an add for one of those mind-degenerating games being pushed on me repeatedly. Moving fonts around is impossible, font shadows are horrible and render font unreadable. ✓ New app makes everything difficult.I’ve been a paying customer for over 4 years, using the app to add quick text to my Instagram posts. The new re-design makes simple things like re-sizing, re-positioning, and re-coloring text way more difficult than it should be. All I try to do is access a previous template and move the text somewhere near bottom of the image. This is nearly impossible because the “confirm” button is lower than the actual text, and disappears when you get to the bottom edge. ✓ Great but...I love what I can do with this app when in the midst of using it, but I have two main gripes 1) you can’t save progress so you essentially can either only work on one thing at a time or redo something from the beginning if you want to go back and make a small change, but the bigger issue is 2) for whatever reason, it almost always remains frozen for several minutes when I first open it; if I leave the app for long enough then come back, it does the same before I can start using it. Maybe something’s going on with my iPad Pro 10.5 (since I got it a year ago but it seems to have gotten worse) but it did the same thing on my iPad Mini 4 that I had before. I can’t reliably open app and get straight to work right where I left off. It’d be AMAZING if it wasn’t for these two things..Version: 5.4.3

Constantly crashing, tried to upload my artwork and it closes the entire app. Scrolled down a bit and I saw a review with the exact same dilemma and I’m sure there’s more… they need to fix this specific problem it’s jarring and ruins the app completely. ✓ GuttedYears ago, I had bought the premium version of Font Candy+ (it had a blue icon then) on my Dad’s iPhone and shared it to my iPad using Family Sharing and I used it very frequently. Today, I tried to use it and I’ve been notified that I no longer have access to it because I’m no longer shared. When I looked into the reasons why, it was because Font Candy+ is no longer available in my region (I am from the UK) and in its place is the standard Font Candy app, with all its in-app purchases. I am greatly disappointed, in fact disappointment is an understatement. I am incredibly annoyed at the fact that I paid for an app and it’s been taken away without any real reason. I will NOT be paying for the in app purchases or using the standard app of Font Candy again when I had already paid for all the features with the premium app. Easy Tiger have done a terrible job with this. ✓ Poor communication, too expensiveI had the Pro version of this app before it turned into a WEEKLY subscription. Charging .99 per WEEK means you as a casual user, including teenagers and children, are paying over $50 EVERY YEAR to edit your own Instagram photos. Some users are reporting the charge is $1.99 per week... $100 yearly? Really? I have sent 4 messages so far about the paid subscription I had, which I am now unable to use after upgrading my iOS, and have so far only been told to “renew my subscription.” NO THANK YOU. The app then kept crashing and freezing so I recently went ahead and deleted and reinstalled this program. The good news was that it seemed to fix the glitching BUT now its wanting me to pay weekly for what I have already paid for when I originally purchased the app. I get subscription services when there is a lot of new content constantly but there is only a few new things that I can live without and now so many of the same options I was previously enjoying through my paid app is now available only in the “pro” subscription for $1.99 a week. ✓ Best App Out There But Tiger Apps is GREEDY.I paid for Font Candy + 2+ years ago. I have loved it dearly and have struggled to find another app that comes close when it comes to editing things the way I need them to be edited. However, Font Candy+ is being phased out (it no longer appears in the App Store, you cannot share it with others, and members of your Apple Family cannot download it either). Instead, they’ve introduced an outrageous WEEKLY subscription which is absolute ludicrous. But that’s also the only way to get rid of their logo in the app. Unless you’re willing to pay $50-$100 a year for an app (you can pay just a little more and get a higher quality editing app for your computer or phone), this app has become useless. It’s free section was more than enough for me. I made a lot of cool stuff with this app and have loved it. But they’ve since overhauled their text rendering which is now not good. Getting to the text boxes was easier and moving the text was easier. Some of the effects don’t work properly any more. I was doing an annual project replicating an image to watch my growth. I can no longer accomplish the same result. While I understand apps moving forward and changing over years… this is not that.
