✗ I’d Like My Money Back! This is my idea of a nightmare. This guy zips through everything, visual aid explanations sometimes come AFTER the deed he’s done and it’s really really confusing to me. Plus, it seems to me like he’s assuming you know a lot of technical terms and leaves out a lot of introductory stuff beginners like myself need before we can just leap in. This is probably better as a review for people who already understand Logic and want to zip through a cursory reminder of its features. This is NOT real helpful for beginners like me. As he whips through features and picks settings he just loses me. It’s really hard to follow - visually and verbally. Please understand - I’m not a recording beginner and I’m not a dope; I’m just new to Logic. But this kind of zip zip zip video that makes me wonder if I want to ditch Logic and find an easier software package to use. But I don’t think it’s Logic’s fault. I just don’t think he’s a very good teacher. And this video is not well done from an educator’s standpoint. Slow down. Take us step-by-step. Don’t assume we know any terms and don’t throw terms at us. Don’t talk so fast!!! And don’t whip around with the cursor so fast or click on this and that in lightning speed without explaining each feature. For example in bouncing down tracks no explanation is given as to why he’s adjusting each of the three visual pots shown. One gets moved up to 4db, one gets moved to -2, another, -1. WHY???? What are you doing? What should we be doing in using this “Ad-Lim” limiter to properly adjust our recordings??? This is too frustrating for words! (What’s worse - there are verbal mistakes that should have been edited out. And what does the word “instanciated” mean? There is NO such word! That word was in one of the pop-up “helpful” balloons with instructions.) Here’s another example of poor teaching. At one point he says, “I’m going to use my mute tool” but he never explains how to get that. He then whips into something else. There’s no way to rewind back a few seconds apparently to hear what you missed so I had to go back to the very beginning of that section (and then had to listen again to two minutes of material I’d heard) until I could figure out how he got the “mute tool” (a balloon popped up very quickly, telling you to click on “T” to get a menu of options including that tool, but it’s almost impossible to read balloons like that and follow the zip zip zip stuff he does on the screen at the same time!). He should verbally have explained how he got the “mute tool” - and not whipped through this in a nanosecond, impossible to follow! In Section 5, mixing, he talks about having to reduce levels and then you see him fussing with a lot of stuff - with absolutely NO explanation. He adds a “Bus” for track one, for instance, for no apparent reason, varies levels on Bus 2 without explaining HOW to do that and WHY he’s doing it (I don’t even know if he raised or lowered the volume on that). In Section 7, for instance, in demonstrating bouncing, he clicks on a file name and says something like, “I auto saved this with a “logicx” extension. “Real cool.” Then he - for no apparent reason - highlights that extension and DELETES it!!! WHY??? Then he says, “it’s just a trick I like to do.” Trick? WHY? What have you accomplished??? And HOW did you set it to autosave with that extension? NOT very helpful or complete information!!! Really - I wish I could get my money back..Version: 1.0
✗ Awful!Do not buy this. I am new to logic from ableton so i purchased this to help. The videos are terrible, each section is only about 5 minutes long and no where near in depth enough. You can also not pause and then re-start the videos. Do not waste your money. I found an excellent tutorial series on youtube. Search ‘musichelptechguy’ on youtube and watch his tutorials, they are amazing! I am gutted i did not find them before purchasing this app!.Version: 1.0
