She Reads Truth for Negative User Reviews

Challenging to NavigateI downloaded the app because I just purchased the Bible and thought it would be neat to use as a guide along with the various bible studies. I’ve use You Version Bible app for years so its a little difficult for me to adjust to this. I don’t like the idea of having to “mark as read” when completing a daily reading whereas with the Bible app once I complete that reading it automatically updates my activity. I love the Bible and the various bible studies available through this app, I would just like to see a little enhancement with navigating my activity as well as have the option to post my comments with an alias name or just my first name and not my entire name. I hope the app developers will take this into consideration to enhance the navigation..Version: 3.0.3

The new update is really disappointingI’ve had the She Reads Truth app for almost two years. I loved the old layout of having the most recent plan at the top where I could easily access it. Whatever plan you read last used to be so easy to jump right back into the next day. With the new overhaul and the big update from last month, not only is the app really slow and glitchy, but the plan I read most recently is one of the oldest (bible in a year) they wrote, and therefore at the bottom of all the reading plans I’ve purchased with and it opens with day one at the top. Right now I’m on day 5, but come day 250 of the plan, it will be frustrating to scroll past a slow and glitchy list to find the day that I’m on. The old version kept your place an made it so convenient to start right where you left off. I also wish you could personalize the front page to the plan you’re working through as opposed to whatever SRT wants you to buy in that moment, but I understand the marketing of that one. With all the Bible apps out there, it might be time to switch - which is so disappointing..Version: 3.0.2

It’s okAesthetically pleasing, sure. Nice choice of Bible reading plans, sure. But there are entire passages missing from books, verses that have grammatical errors and plans that don’t open correctly or present in a timeline. I’m not sure how this keeps having updates & yet, none of these issues are resolved..Version: 3.38

Plans don’t workI really love this app but it has become frustrating to use. My plans refuse to work. Some show up. Some don’t or even sometimes only one day of the plan shows up. It also looks like the app doesn’t update frequently. Really don’t want to stop using this app but if the issues are not fixed I’m afraid I have to..Version: 3.2.7

Not saving preferencesHaving a lot of trouble with the app consistently switching from my preferred version saved in settings to a different one. It’s really confusing. Multiple times a day I have to go to settings reclick the version (it already says it’s saved) and that resets what I’m reading in the plans to my preferred version. Not sure why it says it’s one thing but doesn’t apply it throughout the whole app without you deselecting over and over. Anyway, at this point I actually use a different Bible app to read….I know pretty bad that I don’t read the Bible in a Bible app due to glitches, but I like their plans and the way the read through the Bible in a year plan is set up. So I reference the app for what scriptures I’m supposed to read for the plan then back out and go to my other Bible app or my actual Bible to do the reading. So it still sort of works, just wish that glitch was fixed. They’ve fixed past glitches before though so here’s hoping!.Version: 3.35

Good Content, But App Needs WorkThis app is my go-to for daily devotions during my long commute hours, and the content is SO good. Not only am I able to read through multiple plans at once, but they’re also easy to read and reflect on. Love the lock screens as well! The biggest annoyance for me is that the “mark as read” buttons don’t stick, and I’m constantly going back in to mark it as read and keep my place. Because of this, I am also unable to move any of my completed plans (at least 4 of them) into the “completed” category which means that I have to scroll through all of the different plans to get to the plan I’m currently reading. I’m not sure if there’s a way to delete plans that I’ve downloaded, but even that would be helpful in this situation to reduce the large # of “pending” plans in my queue. Are there a solutions to these issues that I’m missing? That would greatly appreciated if there were!.Version: 3.1.4

CostlyI love She Reads Truth But I don't understand the purpose of this app when you have to purchase the devotion plans yet they're free on the website?.Version: 3.0.3

Love SRT but the app is disappointingI want to start by saying that this is a review for the app not the company. I used to love the She Reads Truth App. I used it everyday and would recommend it to all of my friends. However, ever since the update I have not been happy with the new app and have had nothing but problems trying to use it. While I understand the need to grow and develop as the user base grew, I unfortunately have had a hard time using the updates. My app crashes constantly, it won’t pull up the devotional for the day or if it does it takes forever for it to load. It won’t register when I mark a day as complete and on multiple occasions it has deleted all my progress. I love this company and everything it stands for and still follow along online and with my SRT bible. I just wish the app wasn’t had problematic as it is. I love some of the new features like that I can now subscribe to the plans on a monthly basis but I really do miss the feature that showed you what plan you were working on or opened last. I get that grow is necessary but I am ultimately disappointed..Version: 3.0.7

Closes on me!I love SRT studies! Quality work, esthetically pleasing and focused on reading the truth of scripture. But over the last year I have struggle to use their digital studies because of problems with the app. This has been super disappointing and frustrating. Daily, the app closes on me 2-3 times before I can read my study. And over the last week the app won’t stay open long enough to read my study at all! The app won’t even stay open long enough for me to contact SRT to report the issue! Please improve your app. I love your material and what you’re doing. I’ve spent money to buy these studies! But because of the app I have been able to use them. I need your help!.Version: 3.39

CrashesThere are SO many things I love about SRT. I found She Reads Truth in 2020. This was my church when all others in our area were shut down. I couldn’t be more grateful for the place SRT has held these last few years. Most of that time I’ve used the book, app and weekly podcast in conjunction which have been a fabulous blessing. Depending on the pace of life some months I’m just in the physical book, others I’m in the app heavily supplementing with the book. Unfortunately, as others have said the app crashes constantly. The other reviews on the matter/how it behaves are accurate so I won’t wast time parroting my troubleshooting experience. I’ve just now spent my devotional time troubleshooting a crashing app. Time I circumscribed for Jesus has recently been eaten up trying to manage the app. Some days I’ll be 1/2 way through before it crashes, others it won’t work at all. The very thing designed with the intent to draw women in the word daily is the barrier from it. It’s extremely frustrating. I love you She Reads Truth, but the app is completely nonfunctional. If the app worked I’d give you 3.5 stars. Content is fantastic, but there are some areas that are cumbersome & needing a retool..Version: 3.39

App constantly crashesI absolutely love everything about SRT. Except the app. I’ve tried so hard for years to love it, but it’s gotten to the point where I can’t use it even if I wanted to. I have the SRT Bible and will occasionally purchase the physical study books, but those are way too pricey to purchase regularly. So I pay the small monthly subscription to use the app and it still doesn’t work. I’ve recommended this app to so many friends who are desperate for time in the word, but now I see why this app wasn’t feasible for them. I have tried to get in touch with them for weeks about the crashing problem, but there seems to be no other way to communicate the issues other than leaving a review. Now I know I’m not the only one with this problem! Very disappointing. Hopefully these reviews start to make a difference soon!.Version: 3.41

Pretty and a good concept, but ugh the bugs!I want to love this app, and I don’t even mind paying a bit for the plans, etc. But this app is pretty buggy, and recently it’s stopped tracking progress - so I can never remember where I am in a reading plan! Also I can’t figure out how to mark an entire reading plan as complete, which is kind of annoying. Considering the time clearly put into style, put some more work into the background please!.Version: 3.1.4

Unable to open the actual Bible 😢I love this app and the Bible reading plans and I gain a lot from them, but whenever I click on the Bible section the app closes so I can only read the plans and look at the home screen. Really frustrating as I really like using this app to read the Bible..Version: 3.2.5

Does not function wellThis app is great when it works. Sometimes the plans don’t open. Sometimes the bible crashes when you try and open it. As of late some of the verses have been duplicating multiple times. The highlighter function does not work most of the time. However, the devotionals & plans are well written and put together.Version: 3.2.8

App has problemsShe Reads Truth is a wonderful service, but the app has, for me, been going from bad to worse. It worked OK for me at first, although being an iPhone app it forces me to turn my iPad on its side. After finishing the Titus study, however, it began to prompt me to continue with the study after I had completed it. I found that several days were not marked as completed, and I marked them complete again, and it has continued to prompt to this day. Over the last week or so, however, it has failed to record any day from the current (Judges) study as complete. I tried logging off and back on, and now it will not let me even log on. The app is, as we say in the software business (I am a retired developer), “toast.” I will delete it and see if re-installing helps, but work is needed here. Perhaps it is incompatible with the iPad or iPad Pro?.Version: 3.1.3

Glitches all of the timeI’d love this app if it worked most of the time. Currently, it won’t even open. I don’t mind that the plans are paid but I have had some plans never open and crash every time I try. The plans are aesthetically pleasing however there are other Bible apps that won’t crash..Version: 3.37

Good content, bad appI love the reading plans SRT has to offer. They are great and the content is amazing. But... the app is terrible. It has problem after problem. I just recently became a subscriber to the daily plans, and did a 14 day plan with no problems. When I finished that plan, I went to download a second, but it didn’t add the reading plan to the “my plans” page. It says it’s downloaded but I can’t access it. Another problem is that it’s not highlighting the scripture when I hit the highlight feature. It will also crash mid ways into my reading and take me to my phones home page. Then have to start the process all over to try to catch up to where I was. I’m sure these are just small bugs that could be fixed, but it’s hard to enjoy the content when the app keeps crashing and won’t let you access everything it has to offer..Version: 3.2.7

But like why does this app not work?I got the SRT bible for Christmas and love it! I downloaded the app at the beginning of the year and never had any issues. I really enjoyed the devotions and community as well as the lock screen. I decided to subscribe to the study plans and now every time I go to read one it says I actually don’t have any of them and I always get the preview of day one. I’ve tried the app restore feature and get an error message. I even deleted the app, downloaded it again and now... IT WONT EVEN LET ME LOG IN. I’ve changed my password multiple times and I get an error message every time. I’m not sure what’s going on with this app but I would highly suggest working on an update. I can’t even use it. 😕.Version: 3.0.4

App ProblemsFor some reason my She Reads Truth app won’t open any reading plans. Every time I try to open a plan, a message appears stating “network error” and “there was an error proceeding, please check your connection and try again”. I have a full connection and have paid all the monthly subscriptions but can never get it to work..Version: 3.2.1

Dark Mode PleaseI love SRT and the app is pretty good, though it has some quirks. Most noticeable, I often am reading at night and I very much dislike that the screen is so white and bright! Sometimes it seems so bad, I’d just rather not use the app at all. I need a dark mode! It would make using the app much more pleasant and less harsh on my eyes. Thank you! I would love if on the homepage, the app kept up with where I am in the study instead of the current day. If I’m behind, I have to do more swiping and clicking and futzing around than I think is necessary. It knows what I’ve read and where I’m at, why wouldn’t it suggest to me to start where I left off? I also would appreciate an audio option for the scriptures..Version: 3.37

Fire your app developer!I absolutely love She Reads Truth, I have been reading their devotionals since shortly after they started. This review is not a reflection on them as a company but on their app developer. There has been a bug that erases your progress and does not keep track of anything for several months now; and the last update (which was 1 month ago) did not address that bug. Myself and others have complained about this bug multiple times and yet no updates have addressed it. It seems like it should be a relatively easy thing to fix, and it seems like they should be addressing it much faster than what they are. It’s especially frustrating as a paid subscriber to your app. Maybe it’s time to find a new app developer..Version: 3.1.4

GlitchyThe plans on she reads truth are so wonderful. I bought a plan to go through on the app but it crashes every time I try to use it, so I have to use the web browser instead which offers a free version. It ended up being a waste of money to use the plans on the app..Version: 3.39

New updateGlitches way more, lost all my progress in devotionals, lost all my highlights (just now regained after I filed a complaint), new plan organization is a hassle especially for bible in a year (months is better), app constantly closing or very slow with new update. Loved the old version and SheReadsTruth but the new version should not have been released yet in my opinion with so many issues..Version: 3.0.2

This app is so terrible ):I want to love this app so much and want to use it but it’s so terrible and buggy! I do not recommend this app at all because it’ll make your devotional time so frustrating, and that is absolutely not what you want for your time with the Lord. here are some of my main issues: 1) the plans section won’t work occasionally. I will try to click down towards the plans and it won’t work so I have to use the manual Bible instead of everything being easily set in the plans. 2) the actual Bible section doesn’t work. I will click on a book of the Bible and the chapter and it will not lead me to that actual chapter! it will go to the chapter before or after. this is the most simple part of a Bible app, yet it doesn’t work?! 3) no dark mode options in plans. SheReadsTruth, PLEASE spend time fixing this app. it’s awful. ):.Version: 3.32

Lock screen troublesThe download button isn't giving me an option to save image to my phone (which make it difficult to get the lock screen). Haven't run into any other troubles though!.Version: 2.2.1

I signed upI signed up but can’t get pass the introduction pages. Really want to check it out. Kind of disappointed I can’t experience the knowledge you have about the Word of God. I hope you work out your technical issues soon..Version: 3.46

The new update needs updatingI originally got SRT so I could have a Bible on my phone and I was curious about the women of the word study. I have definitely been challenged and encouraged by the studies and it’s convenient to have the Bible there to switch back and forth too. However with the new update it is more discouraging and frustrating rather than uplifting. You can no longer just read the Bible on the app. If you want to go to the next chapter you have to go back, click the book, then the next chapter. It’s not helpful and makes it easy to be distracted. I think great things can happen and have happened through SRT but right now it not being user friendly defeats the purpose of what it was originally intended..Version: 3.0.2

Don’t botherWhy pay for something that you can get for free? I downloaded the app to begin my first study with She Reads Truth only to find out that after purchasing the book, the app to read the daily readings is an additional fee. From the SRT team “they are a separate purchase... because the app is costly to update and maintain”. After spending 20 minutes trying to figure out what is different between the app and website, I found the online reading is exactly the same and it’s free. After already purchasing a book, which is not cheap, you’d think they’d give you free access to the app. Why would anyone pay for access here when the exact same info is available for free on their website? I won’t be purchasing another study with a company who nickel and dimes their customers in the name of a Christian Bible Study..Version: 3.0.7

CrashThe app crashes every time I try to open my 365 bible devotion.Version: 3.0.5

New version is not user friendlyI have been using She Reads Truth for a few years and I love the Bible plans, lock screens, and community. I even own the She Reads Truth book by Amanda and Raechel as well as the SRT Bible. But the new app is so completely not user friendly that I’m tempted to stop using SRT completely! I feel like the developers went for aesthetic instead of functionality. I’d like to see an app that combines both. I hate how to get to your current plan (if it’s not the one everyone is currently doing together) you have to click through a couple screens and scroll. I also think the homepage is very scattered and doesn’t make any sense logically. Finally, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to change my profile picture! I even Googled it and looked at the SRT FAQ and found nothing. The picture that’s up is from six years ago and I would love to change it! I also hate that there is no way to update your email address (the one attached to my account is not current) and I hate that you have to put in a last name (For privacy, I don’t want all my comments to show my first and last name). All in all I love what the brand is doing and I believe in the ministry and message of SRT, but this app itself is terrible..Version: 3.0.3

Glitches all the timeI love SRT but this app is a different story. It keeps glitching and erasing my progress. And if it isn’t dependable to track my progress than I’m not sure what I’m paying for since I can get the material for free on the website?.Version: 3.35

❤️❤️❤️Love.Version: 2.2.4

SloooooowwwwwI honestly love this app, it really has made reading the Bible easy for me. BUT PLEASE FIX THE LAGGING ISSUE, it’s sooooo slowwwww. And sometimes I believe it’s unresponsive. No this isn’t not an issue with my phone, it’s the app. Fix it please.Version: 3.3

Looks pretty, but crashesI had downloaded this app and in the first 60 seconds, it crashed twice. I haven’t even picked out my study yet, but I’m hesitant to plan on the app if this is the norm. The other reviews talking about the app crashing were from years ago, so I thought they would have worked it out. The app looks lovely and seems to have a lot of nice features, but clearly there are behind the scenes tech. issues that need to be resolved to make this a functional app. Too bad because it seems promising and I don’t want to buy the physical books which take up space. Hoping this app improves, but it seems like this is a long-time concern from buyers..Version: 3.43

Getting better. Still buggy.UPDATE: So glad the ‘mark as read’ feature is working after the last update. The issue I’m now having is with the ‘daily study reminder.’ I have it set for 8am because that’s when I sit down for my quiet time. The problem is that I get the reminder multiple times a day. 8am. 9am. 10am. 3pm. Etc...& they aren’t the 1st reminder popping back up. I’ll clear the 1st reminder & new ones pop up at odd hours. The badge reminder icon also shows a ‘1’ each time this happens. I’ve tried disabling and setting a new time, but it didn’t help. I finally just had to turn off notifications for SRT. Also, I am unable to leave comments. Or more correctly, they don’t actually post. I can type a comment or reply, but when I hit submit they just disappear. I thought there was a slight delay at first, but my comments just end up getting lost & never actually post..Version: 3.1.9

Great content, but too many glitchesI the content is amazing, but the app has so many glitches. The app doesn’t recognize when you’ve completed a devotional. It also doesn’t archive any of the completed plans. I have a bunch just still downloaded that I’ve completed and it doesn’t recognize that it’s been completed..Version: 3.1.4

IPad app should be formatted as suchApp is overall good. Giving it four stars, because it’s not so great on the iPad format wise. It’s perfect on the phone app, but reading it on the phone isn’t terribly comfortable, considering the size. I’ve ended up just opening safari and reading it there on my iPad..Version: 1.0.6

Unable to read without WiFi connect! This makes the app honestly pointless. I spend the money, purchase the plans yet cannot read off line. I live in the city and my daily commute is the train and that’s my quiet time but ever since this new update I cannot read my plans anymore without WiFi connection, even if I want to use my data the plans will not work without an actual WiFi connection!!! Purchasing these plans should be like E-books and it’s frustrating. I can’t get my daily morning commute read to work or on the go and it makes me so sad. I no longer want to purchase additional plans because I cannot use whenever I want. The odd app allowed all of this, please bring the option back. In all honesty, the old app was much better, simple, to the point and easy to maneuver. There’s just way to much unnecessary steps to get to certain books of the Bible and etc..Version: 3.1.4

Please add audio option!I love my subscription box and all of the books! The content of SRT is amazing and I love having a plan to know what to read every day and the accountability of staying on track. I don’t use the app that much though, but I would use it every day if there were an audio Bible option! I would love to listen to the day’s readings, which I could do in another Bible app for plans that are on one book of the Bible, but it is impossible to do with topical plans since the readings jump around so much. As a mom of 2 young children, being able to listen to the Bible allows me to engage more with Scripture, and I wish I could pair that with my SRT studies!.Version: 3.37

Better, but still needs workEdit 2: please fix the Bible app crashing 😔 Edit: with the most recent update I’m unable to open the Bible portion of the app. It crashes. 😔 Thank you for hearing the suggestions of bringing back the swipe to read different chapters and multi-select tool to mark readings as read! The problem now with the most recent update is that “read” readings don’t transfer between devices. Sometimes I read on my phone, sometimes I read on my iPad, and now when I go to one or the other it’s hard to keep up with what’s been read and what hasn’t... Also along with swiping to change chapters, it would be nice to be able to switch from chapters through the quick search. So if I’m in Psalm 23 and I want to go to Psalm 72 I don’t have to click Psalms again then click the chapter I want.. I could just click the chapter if that makes sense. I’d also love to one day be able to have my notes in my margins/be able to write in the margins with my Apple Pencil instead of having a separate place for my notes... I know that’s a lot of requests, and probably not easily doable, just some thoughts. Thank you for all you do!.Version: 3.2.4

The problems with the app distract from the studiesI think it’s a little silly to ask people to pay for the app, but make the exact same devotionals available online/in your email for free. However, I like being able to go through all the different plans I have downloaded on the app and read more than one at a time. I also like that I can go back to plans I’ve finished and reread specific devotionals. However, (and I know lots of people have said this!) I wish that they would make an option to favorite a specific day’s reading and devotional...that way if I’m looking for one I loved, but don’t remember which day it was from, I can go to my favorites and see them all. Also, this app drives me insane sometimes with its weird glitches...I was almost through a study and it suddenly no longer showed that I’d read the first 15 days of the study. It didn’t have them marked as completed anymore. And the “tap to share” doesn’t work. Ever. So as much as I love the devotionals, I think I’m either going to have to switch to using the website, or find a different app..Version: 3.1.3

Great product- Horrible updateI love SRT. There was a time when I would use it daily. But sadly, that just isn’t the case anymore. First: let me say that I completely understand the need for changes and updates to an app. That’s totally fine. I think it is perfectly okay to change the look and feel of an app if it works better for functionality or for the ease of the user. Sure, it takes a bit to get used to a new layout, but that’s kosher. This update does not seem to the case of change for functionality. Instead, it seemed to have tried to make it look prettier and more streamlined without making it any easier to use. If anything, it’s more complicated. I can’t seem to find anything or change my information. I keep hearing rumblings of a part of the app that plays music but I can’t find it (it was mentioned in the Hymn devos a few times). If that part of the app is no longer available, that’s fine but why keep it in the devos? Nothing seems to work properly and I kind of stopped using the app because of it. Which is honestly a shame. Listen: if you can get past the issues with the app itself, the product is pretty awesome...but honestly, how sad is it to have to say that? I think the app needs a rehaul or, at the very least, to be tweaked to be more user friendly. I love SRT and would love to start using the app again!.Version: 3.0.4

Great, but there is no way to sync notesThis app is amazing, with beautiful design and interface. Unfortunately, I can't sync my notes between devices which is rather frustrating. Sorry to have to delete this app because I can't sync my notes. Otherwise, it's most possibly the best Bible app for women..Version: 2.2.1

DisappointedI've been using this app for about a year and started the Bible in a year plan about 3 months ago when a few days ago my phone updated to the newest version of SRT. Although I restored all my downloaded plans the new version didn't keep the place where I left off, luckily I write it down each day but that didn't help either. Next to the number of day it just says "Bible in a Year: #day" it doesn't state the reading for that day which seems pointless. The other thing is that it crashes within about 90 seconds of opening so I can't even find the place I left off. When I open the days of the area I left off at, the daily readings are totally different than what I read the first time. So I'm guessing the app changed the readings which were previously assigned to those days :/ Hope these issues get resolved quickly..Version: 3.0.2

Bug issueHave used and love this app for years. But lately every time I go to open up the bible and move to a new passage it crashes! The latest update still hasn’t solved this issue!.Version: 3.2.5

Good app, but has bugsI love the sleek design of the app, and how we can highlight parts of scripture, however, the notes function can be improved. When I delete a note, it would be helpful if whenever I clicked on a verse to create a new note, that the verses I had selected before are not automatically added again. It is frustrating, and seemingly un-fixable. For example, I created a note by accident using Romans 5:1 and 5:3, but now when I select Romans 5:1 to create a new note, Romans 5:3 is automatically added on, without my selecting it, and I can’t remove it. Please make it so that verses aren’t automatically added on from my previous notes. Also, this issue would not have arisen if it were possible to remove verses while creating a note. Thank you..Version: 3.1.3

Lovely and beautiful butI love SRT! App is beautiful and points me to truth that changes my life. That being said, the latest app is no longer my go-to app. The app goes to genesis 1 every time I open it - the old version would open wherever I had been the day before in whatever version I was using. I’m disappointed. They kept the beauty but have not made it more functional..Version: 3.0.2

RNThe new update deleted my progress in the bible in a year plan. The new bible in a year is hard to navigate, I liked the old way it was layed out with the months instead of 365 days and having to scroll all the way to the bottom for December readings. The app also quits unexpectedly every time I try to use it..Version: 3.0.2

App Crashes EverytimeLet me start out by saying I love love SRT! So I subscribed to the subscription box and have enjoyed it. However, part of what I love about SRT is the community..the devotions, comments and praying for one another even when we don’t know one another. This isn’t available through the subscription box so I have tried repeatedly to use the app to no avail. I’ve tried everything I can think of but still it crashes right after opening it, crashes while I’m reading or commenting…please please help! Can’t someone find a way to make this work smoothly on iPad? Let me end this with saying thank you Raechel and Amanda for allowing God to use you in making His name known to all the world!!! I love the podcasts too!.Version: 3.39

Update :/Really loved the simplicity, the brightness and ease of the app before the update, felt like I’d found a bible app that wasn’t clunky or over complicated! Was really disheartened by the new update which just seems a little unnecessary, I feel like the bible itself is a smaller part of the app and find the extra functions largely detract from the goodness in the app’s Bible-centred and simple vision.xo.Version: 3.0.7

Don’t botherWas looking forward to using this app but constantly crashes out.Version: 3.39

Love the content miss the old appAs other reviewers have commented, the content that SRT puts out is great. I originally downloaded it ~5 years ago as an alternative to youversion and was really pleased. It ran quickly, the design was beautiful and the devotions were edifying. I was excited when they announced they were launching a redesign but when they rolled it out I was pretty disappointed. It was glitchy and way less intuitive than the old version. When I read the Bible it doesn’t automatically take me back to where I left off. It takes much more navigating to get back to my place in the plan that I’m reading. And the biggest disappointment of all is the organization of my bookmarks and highlighted verses. They’re all lumped together and instead of organized by passages that I’ve highlighted each verse is separated by its own highlight so it takes forever to scroll through and find what I’m looking for. While the update is aesthetically pleasing it feels a little bit like a form over function update and I truly miss the old version even after all this time..Version: 3.2.1

New update blowsI loves she reads truth and used it daily but since the latest update it is always to use and doesn't keep my spot. It's such a shame.Version: 3.0.2

Bad updateI have put off publishing this review trying to get used to the new update, and I have really tried to love it for many months but it is not good. It makes the app a lot harder to use. It is harder to find my devotional so am in the middle of. Many times it crashes in the middle of using it. The old app used to load in a split second, often times this takes half a minute to what the old one would load in a second. The new update doesn’t seem to keep track of what I have already read in the devotional. I will tap mark to read and it will show as marked and then most times when I enter back into the app at a different time that marking will be gone. It is just really a bummer that an app I used to love now I don’t use as much because the functionality is very frustrating. I just wish the app returned to functionality and usability over now what seems to be an over emphasis on design.Version: 3.1.3

It WAS a good appI’m hoping the bugs that are cause bible verses to be duplicated and buttons to be slow responding, will be fixed soon. I loved this app but trying to do my study now feels like hard works as nothing works properly. 😕.Version: 3.0.2

Getting worse?😔I’ve overlooked the glitches for several years but now having to swipe through explanatory information every time you open the app isn’t going to work. Between this, the messaging system, other glitches in lacking readings for the day, or not getting a reading until the following day, I t’s getting to the point where it’s not worth the time to use. It’s such a great idea and service, I think people use it and love it and “deal” with the issues, but it’s less and less worth dealing with. Everyone is better off using the website and moving app staff time and money to some other portion of the organization..Version: 3.38

Love The Study Books The Not So MuchI would love to love the app as much as I enjoy the physical study books but it’s been 3 years and we’re still complaining about app crashes. I like to use the app to access the devotions to pair with the study book and I use it as my bible at church (when it doesn’t crash). I’ve heard it crash 4 times in the span of 30 minutes and not allow me to even get past the opening screen of the plan I’m in. Kind of makes me disappointed as I LOVE SRT and have been recommending it to my family and friends but the app has great things but is lacking user functionality..Version: 3.39

Still needs some workI just opened the new app (had been reading in my paper book for Advent), and was a bit disappointed with the upgrade. I can no longer read in landscape mode on my iPad which is the way I normally read with my keyboard stand on a morning. I did find my old plans, and restored my purchases, but navigation seems more challenging. Perhaps I am not yet used to it yet. I also want to change the words of Christ to not be red, and don’t see how to do that. The pics are beautiful, however, and it has potential! Just a few more tweaks..Version: 3.0.2

Constantly shutting downI love the content but can never get through it. I’ve reached out and it was suggested I delete and reload the app. This doesn’t work. I have not been able to read the scripture or complete any study because an unexpected error occurs every time I use it. Please fix it! And make it more intuitive for using and scrolling through studies. The content and concept is fabulous, but I can’t enjoy it..Version: 3.40

It's okay butIt still needs work. I had written a review saying how I was having trouble with the daily reminder setting staying on and that it would work for that day but then I would have to keep on turning it back on the next day or so. Now I'm noticing that with the Bible I have to keep on changing the translation from ESV to CSB everytime I switch to the Bible tab. I don't mind ESV version, in fact it's the translation I was using before I discovered the CSB translation when I bought the She Reads Bible back in January. That's also when I discovered She Reads Truth. I like She Reads Truth but the app needs to be fixed. Right now I'm just using it for the study plans..Version: 3.35

A little hard to navigate and failure to store progress.First, I love SRT, so even the few bugs currently in the app would not turn me away from joining and being a part of any of the plans. They are enlightening, enriching, and help me to consider so much about who God is vs who I say God is based on my personalized filters. I still have the daily email devotionals sent straight to my email inbox, so I have a back up plan in store. The app I would say is not as intuitive as it could be. I often find myself just pressing icons/tabs hoping that what I want is found there. So maybe a way to make the icons communicate more effectively what content is coupled to them would be helpful. Also for several plans now, my progress continues to be undone, so even though I have completed plans the undoing of all that I have read keeps the plan under the currently reading section. So if the bug around keeping track of progress without undoing can be reconciled that would be great. You ladies are awesome and I love how you pour out so much and take great lengths to edify such a vast community of women!! You are a mighty throng!.Version: 3.1.4

New does not mean better... sadlyThis new and updated app is, sadly, hard to navigate and no longer my go-to app for bible readings and screen savers. Such a pain, every time I open the bible part of the app it starts back at Genesis 1, instead of where I left off. When I get the the end of a chapter I can’t just swipe to the next chapter, I have to back out, click on the book and then the chapter... every single time. This is no longer the place where I read the bible, I now have moved along to another app. Love their beautiful screen savers, but now I have to scroll though every single one, before I can get to the newest. I have a feeling an update to this new and improved app will be necessary otherwise users will find something more user friendly to work with..Version: 3.0.2

Would be a great app if it workedI cannot rely on this app for my quiet times. I have payed to get the john study and it has worked first time once in the last 4 days. Not ideal, I just go to the website and will continue to do so until the end of the study. Hopefully the issues will be sorted out by then. It's not just the bible plans that don't work, there are a variety of issues that need to be sorted for a smooth running of the app..Version: 1.0.9

LaggingI downloaded the app and when i log in it won’t lead me to the bible.Version: 3.2.5

The app hangs and all the plans are payableThis app hangs too much. Interface is weak. You can’t really study the word properly and all the plans are priced minimum £1.99 or over. Try Proverbs31 Ministry, they are generous in educating women. Their plans are free..Version: 3.1.3

Deteriorating user experienceI have used this app for years and never had an issue (hence my higher star rating) but the latest updates have made for a poor user experience. It is annoying to swipe 4 or 5 times through the intro on how to use the app each time I open it. Can you please put an X in the top corner so we at least have the option to close the tutorial immediately? Also, after swiping through the tedious instructions the Bible doesn’t actually work. Also, while I’m here - I didn’t love the pop up banners advertising Bible plan sales either. I understand you need to sell things to keep sustaining the development and maintenance of this app but it felt very cheap - like those pop up ads on free mobile games, which was quite unpleasant to experience during my daily quiet times..Version: 3.38

Lacking versatilityI love the minimalism and aesthetic of this app and it works well on iPhone as a regular Bible reading app. However, as an iPad user, it doesn’t allow for landscape viewing/split screen viewing, which makes typing notes more inefficient and tedious. Would recommend as an iPhone app but not so much as an iPad app. Hope to see some improvements on the app this year!.Version: 3.1.9

Great App idea, But.....It run’s Horrible!!!I’m giving this app 1 stars. A few month’s ago I got my “She Read’s Truth” bible & I love it. I think it was something amazingly made. And I remember thinking I wonder if there is an App I can download for this bible or sort of like if I’m out & i don’t have my bible i’ll at least have the app. While I do like the App I think it’s neat & a great idea, It just runs horribly bad. I wish it would get fixed. If it got fixed I would definitely use it. Like I said I love the Bible I got by them. I was having trouble understanding my original bible “King James version” the “She Reads Truth” bible helps you to understand what your reading easier. P.s. And it has Art all through out it. The She Reads Truth bible makes it So you can actually apply it to your life. It helps me to understand what I’m reading unlike my other bible. When I try to log In it kicks me off the app. I have it downloaded but it’s useless because I can’t even use the app. And when you eventually get it to work it just constantly kicks you off. I’m not to sure what else was wrong with it. I couldn’t remember because it has been a few months since I used it. I really hope it get’s fixed because I would use this app. Because of it not working I would give it at the moment 0 Stars. Please fix it this app is amazing & I would love to be able to use it. Thanks!.Version: 3.34.2

DisappointedI discovered SRT a couple of a years ago, and it was was an answer to prayer — a visually pleasing, spiritually challenging resource to encourage my quiet time — and I used it regularly for a year, highlighting often and taking notes/journaling in the app. Unfortunately the update made it frustrating to use; highlighting and notes no longer work, and the screen view doesn’t work in horizontal mode so that I can use the keyboard on my iPad. This morning when I saw a NEW update available, I was so excited, hoping SRT would work the way it used to. It doesn’t. Still not horizontal. Still unable to highlight or take notes. I waited hopefully over the last year for a functional and user-friendly update. Sadly, it hasn’t come. Scripture reading should be a time of joyful anticipation, but this app only causes frustration. Although I could go to the SRT website and read from there every day, I really prefer a “connected” place to take notes. Sadly, I guess it’s time to find another Bible study app. I wish it had never been updated. Don’t try to fix what isn’t broken..Version: 3.1.3

Could be so much better after all this timeI really want to love this app more. I’ve been using it since university days and have been a monthly subscriber for the past couple years. But really the app has not visibly improved at all in all the years I’ve been using it. I love that they put so much effort in the studies and graphics but if you’re going to make an app you need to invest in the tech too. As many others stated, it glitches a lot. Common ones for me are: making you run through intro slides every time you open the app, erasing your progress in plans, highlighter not working, crashing. And then there are simple UX improvements that could have been considered sometime in the last five years at least. For example, when you finish one reading of a plan, instead of it taking you back to the plan page, you have to scroll back like 5 times. It would be so simple to put a final complete button that actions you back to home or plan. And there are so many opportunities for more robust tools, like highlights and notes. If you want one single bible app, this is not the one. You still need to balance it with something like YouVersion. The saving grace of the app is the content itself, but it would greatly improve with better functionality..Version: 3.38

New update not workingThe app keeps crashing for me, as well as the new study, Bible in a year, doesn't seem to work. When I do get it open, it opens at day 266..Version: 1.0.8

Pay to read the bible????Cmon , a women’s bible app that costs money ?? Isn’t it more important that women come together as a community then it is to make money ? This is really disappointing, I’ll be deleting the app..Version: 3.0.7

Latest update has changed the words in the KJVI used to absolutely love this app and used it every day. I agree with other reviewiers that when the developers upgraded the app a few years ago to make it prettier, the app lost a lot of it great functionality. Still, I stuck with it because years of my notes were in the app and at least I could get several versions of the Bible while off-line and in church. However, today, while on my iPad, I noticed that the KJV of several scriptures is missing words and combining words together. (I.e., Psalm 144). The verse numbers also now appear at the end of each sentence, which is incredibly odd. It is one thing for all of the extras in the app to be a disappointment. It’s another thing when I can’t trust the Word I am reading. Sadly, I have used this app for the last time..Version: 3.2.6

Won’t let me login...I absolutely loved this app when I first started using it, but after this new update it won’t let me login and says the password/email is incorrect when it actually is correct. What is going on? Please fix this as I have several plans on the go. Thank you..Version: 3.0.1

UpdatesUsed to be my go-to but unfortunately the updates are very infrequent and so glitches stay around for a while. Every time I tick of a reading day, it wipes out and I lose track as to which I’ve done because the next day all are unticked again.. takes me ages to find where I left off :( but content is good and thought-provoking.Version: 3.1.4

Umm...I loved this app but I’m struggling to love the update. At the moment I am stuck on one day of my reading plan with no way to close it to go back the the menu of the plan and move onto the next day. It feels a bit over complicated, I liked the simplicity of the bible and the overall format before. Hopefully the glitches will smooth out and I will get used to it because i really like the content..Version: 3.0.2

Still cumbersomeThe daily readings STILL take FOREVER to load and they don’t track my progress. The app is helpful for reading and devotions but it’s just too cumbersome. It is slow, not intuitive, and there are a lot of glitches. Needs a SERIOUS update. Too bad because I used to thoroughly enjoy this app. Not enough time is spent on the app itself..Version: 3.1.3

Keeps crashingI love this app but for the past two months it has continuously crashed making it impossible to use.Version: 3.39

Not as good anymoreI got this app in January last year just for the Bible in a year feature. I would guess that many women start using this app for the same reason. One of the beautiful things about the way the reading was set up was the discussion that happened on each day’s reading. As I read the Bible during the year, I saw many women join in, even if they were reading their first day on March 14 or July 21. With the new setup (numbered readings instead of dates), that kind of community is lost. I started with the daily reading and have since purchased several of the plans. Honestly, with the changes, I’m not sure I would still have chosen SRT for my daily reading app. I’m sure a lot of time and energy went into making the new version of the app. But slicker and prettier is not always better. I think it is less user-friendly now, and that’s not a good thing. I don’t need a fancy experience, just a solid source for Bible readings. I think you’ve definitely lost something with the new version..Version: 3.0.2

Too many in app purchasesDisappointed with all the purchases that need to be made. I'll stick to my free bible app. Devotions shouldn't cost money..Version: 2.2.6

Keeps crashingI love love love this app and have been using it for years but in the last few weeks every time I try to open it, it crashes within 10 seconds. So disappointed. Can you please fix?.Version: 3.40

Great app - currently v glitchyI’ve used the app for years and love it, but am currently really struggling as it keeps crashing. I open the day’s reading and it crashes. I try again, it crashes. Sometimes I manage to get it to work by opening a reading from a few days ago. I do also receive emails, but because of the time difference (I’m in the UK) these don’t seem to arrive in time for me to use in the morning. SRT is a great ministry and resource, I so appreciate the thoughtful way Scriptures are put together, and the devotional commentary, but the app really needs updated..Version: 3.39

Still frustrated with new appI finally updated to the new app and now wish I didn’t. Yes, the graphics are gorgeous and the content continues to be beautiful, but the usability has suffered. I can no longer read in landscape (horizontal) on the iPad. The app will not allow it. There’s no easy way to get to the next day’s reading and/or it doesn’t sync and keep track of what is read. This means constantly scrolling down every day when the old version would take me directly to the new reading. If I click on today’s date to get the corresponding reading, it takes me to one I’ve already read. I’ve tried restarting both my devices, but the app still doesn’t properly track what I’ve read. Very disappointed..Version: 3.37

Bugs in appUnable to download the lock screens. It’s only giving me the option to airdrop them :(.Version: 3.38
