Sundial Solar & Lunar Time for Positive User Reviews

PerfectThis app is beautifully designed with a perfect level of customisability.Version: 1.1

🌕🔭🪐✨An otherwise great app! I like that it notifies you about different time periods in a way that others do not! My only complaint is that I wish the developer would add a specific time set for Blue (Magic) Hour and Golden Hour. I found a way to edit for Blue Hour in the mornings, but not for Golden Hour, it would just go immediately to Sunrise instead of that time period in between. Please add Blue(Magic) hour and Golden Hour for Mornings and Evenings! Thanks!.Version: 8.13

Internet ConnectionIf an internet connection is not required to calculate info, why does the app pester you to turn location services and notifications on ?? My iPad doesn't leave the property. I think you ARE on-selling the data you are harvesting. Why not have the ability to enter a lat & long ??.Version: 3.2

This is the oneIf you are looking for sun and moon data this is your app. Using the free version a couple hours I had to buy the full version. I use it mainly on my watch where all the options are amazing even without a phone and no need to leave the battery draining gps on. As great as the options and watch faces are, using it on the phone may even be better. Give it a try, then buy the full verdion..Version: 8.12

Leaps & BoundsThis app has since it's first inception moved along and is a credit to the author in not taking what he had for granted. Please continue to grow and show us more..Version: 2.0

My new Muslim prayer appI read a while ago, that the ancient people used to observe time as “watches” of the day. Then yesterday I was watching a documentary on the Dead Sea Scrolls, ancient Jews did the same and I realized that Muslim prayer times are really done according to the same watches of the day. This app helps me understand that we pray before sunrise, a little after high noon, between that and sunset, Sunset and evening. It’s a lot more useful to pray with the natural cycle of the day..Version: 3.2

Happy catVery happy with this app. Use it to notify me when it is time to feed the cat. The cat conditioned herself to the chime and comes running. More reliable on iPhone than the iPad..Version: 9.0

Gps and saved location notificationsBrilliant app, downloaded yesterday with premium features, I have the widget, main app and Apple Watch gps set to always, GPS location street address on Apple Watch and iPhone is mainly inaccurate but a brilliant feature and usually shows I’m at my neighbours address even though I’m at my home address,I have notifications set up for GPS and saved locations but only GPS notifications come through and nothing for saved locations, this can do with fixing.Version: 6.2

Perfect for astrophotographyAs an amateur astrophotographer this app is perfect for me. The app shows me at a glance several things I need to know: 1. The time astronomical sundown occurs (I.e. when it is completely dark). 2. If the moon is up, creating too much light to photograph. 3. Or if the moon will rise during the night spoiling my photographic session. And being able to easily move the date ahead lets me know the days and times coming up when best to photograph..Version: 6.4

Watch App is back!!!My job requires me to know when civil twilight is every day, and this app handily tells me that. I first paid for it because I could stick it on my watch and know at a glance everything I needed to know. So I was really bummed when the developer dropped support for the watch. I could still use the main app of course, but the nerd in me really loved just looking at my wrist. I was graciously offered my money back if I wanted, but I chose not to, because I wanted to encourage the developer to keep working on this beautiful app and, as a software engineer, I know how these things go. And now I am SO HAPPY to see that not only is the watch app back, but back with a vengeance! The configurability of the widgets and complications is just stunning. The only downside is that now I’m going to be fiddling with this for weeks in order to find what arrangements are “just right” for me. Thanks so much for standing by your product and its continued improvement..Version: 7.2

Useful and easy to useI have been enjoying this app for awhile now. It has lots of nifty information, laid out comprehensibly. Originally I mostly just wanted to know the cycle of the moon, but have really liked being able to set alarms based on things like sunset. I have one set to remind me to walk my dog while it’s still light out! The graphic representation of the solar and lunar cycles of each day also feels really intuitive to me..Version: 6.4

The best …This has to be the best app of its type. Looks great, works great and easy to use..Version: 8.13

Amazing app! For our hens and for us!!I was looking for something that allowed me to put the hens to bed in the evening at sunset, get a good nights sleep, and wake up just before the hens started squawking that they wanted out into their day pen at sunrise (don’t know if the neighbors appreciate their vocals as much as I do lol). The fact that this app offers not one but all three twilights, a.m. as well as p.m., has me over the moon in love with it! I can let the hens out at morning civil twilight, put them to bed at evening civil twilight, and then set the last alarm for nautical twilight to get a wonderful night sleep, in tune with my body and the rotation of the earth :-) LOVE LOVE LOVE this app.Version: 8.3

Works extremely wellWorks extremely well. It also includes the option of having alerts of the different solar and lunar events. You can even offset these alerts by the amount of time of your choice, so you get alerted before the events happen. The other app I tried did not provide any of this information so this app is infinitely better.😁.Version: 4.5

I would give this 4.5 if I couldThis app is great. Nearly perfect. The app seems a little technical at first. There is very little visual flourish, but don’t let that turn you away. After just a little bit of time figuring out what you’re looking at the lack of flourish is clearly a benefit. Sun and moon rise and set times could hardly be presented more clearly. Clear presentation plus more fine grained control of notifications than I’ve ever seen. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is because the app does not have native Apple Shortcut integration. That would be such a cool added value that I can’t rate it perfectly, even though what it does do it does exceptionally well. It deserves 4.5 stars, but Apple doesn’t allow half star votes, so I give it 4..Version: 9.10

Amazing features, design, support, and tones!I absolutely love this app and tell everyone about it! I enjoy being more in tune with the rhythms of nature, so this app allows me to be alerted for sunrises and sunsets and new moons and full moons. The developers keep adding features and making it more valuable all the time. One of the best parts are the great tones that they have available for alerts..Version: 8.12

Great app!I love that this app is accurate, intuitive to use, and provides as much or as little information as I want. I really appreciate how customizable it is and the ability to set alerts. I also love that it’s a one time purchase; I think we are all tired of everything becoming subscription-based and it’s refreshing to find an app that doesn’t do this. I have only one suggestion: Maybe provide a pricing bundle that combines Plus with widgets, for customers without an Apple Watch? I am happy to pay, but more options would be nice too..Version: 8.12

With the power of Sun and Moon combinedNo longer do I need to jump into my weather app to look at sunrise, then my moon app to see what phase it’s in and then onto Google to find when civil twilight is. This app puts this and more all together, and does it oh so beautifully! Especially as a complication in my wrist..Version: 4.5

SundialEverything about app is excellent. It it seems to do everything you could ever want with such an app..Version: 6.5

Wont open in my new iPad 7I have been using this App for over a year on my previous iPad 4 but for some reason when installed on my new iPad 10.2 7th Gen. the App will not open. I have tried uninstalling and reloading to no avail despite selecting for iPads only. I have given this a 3 stars to avoid a misleading low mark because it still works fine on my iPhone 6. Hopefully the next update will remedy the fault..Version: 8.3

Terrific design, excellent functionalityThis app is designed so cleverly. The representation of various aspects of solar and lunar cycles is, well, stellar. My only request would be to make this available as a screensaver app so that I could leave the screen open with the clock appearing. This would be the perfect screensaver for when the phone is charging in the dock on my desk. Overall, very well done. Highly recommended..Version: 3.2

WATCH Support is Back!!!I’ve owned this app for a few years and loved every part of it. But when the developer ceased support for the Apple Watch a while back, it wasn’t nearly as useful for me and I ended up deleting it. It was very disappointing and I found a replacement which wasn’t nearly as good, but I need a sunrise/sunset complication on my watch that is more appealing than the stock complication. Not only is this app a five-star favorite of mine, the return of WATCH support and the catalog of every complication you could think of makes this app better than ever before. Many, many thanks to the developer for bringing it back to the WATCH. And please don’t remove it ever again!.Version: 7.0

Almost perfectI love the amount of information available, it’s fantastic. The custom notifications are great. There’s a plethora of widgets, however, the most obvious one seems to be absent. I would like to see the Developer make a widget that is literally the same 24 hour dial (6 & 18 vertical w/ Noon & Midnight) that I see when I open the app. Open the app, and just cut the dial portion into a widget. It may not be that simple, but that would make this the GOAT..Version: 10.8

Beautiful crafted appA joy to use, best produced app I have ever used.Version: 9.10

Watch app is back! What a nice surprise to have Sundial back on my watch. Before it disappeared it was my favourite app and I was morose about it going but now it’s back and with amazing new widgets. I’m a happy man!.Version: 9.10

Fan-freakin’-tasticThe genius of some people. I like to walk at sunrise and prepare to set out about 30 minutes prior to the event. Until I stumbled across this app it’s been a minor pain in the derrière keeping up with time of sunrise from week to week but this app sounds an alarm, I get dressed, and I walk out the door. Seriously cool, boys and girls. UPDATE: this app would be a bit cooler if it had an owl’s hoot for use as an alarm for sunset and maybe a slightly different one for moonrise..Version: 3.2

The utmost thanksIf it works out from here....Version: 6.2

The moon app I've been hoping for!Once you take the time to see how this app displays the relationship between the sun, moon and the 24-hour day, it becomes at-a-glance simple. Nothing I've seen comes close. I ride my bike every night for an hour commute home, and the moon is only giving light during any given night trip for about 1 week per month. Sundial makes it clear what the position and brightness will be. So make a paid version of this app. It doesn't have to be any better than this, and I will happily buy it. Thank you, excellent work!.Version: 10.7

My favorite complication; exceptional developerThe best visualization of sun and moon data you’ll find on iOS (and watchOS), or anywhere else. The unique dial is such a clever, concise infographic, simple to read and dense with information. It’s glanceable, memorable, and legible even at the scale of a watch complication. The update to v7.0 is fantastic: it introduces a brand new watchOS app with extremely deep customization, as well as the longest list of complications and iOS 14 widgets I’ve seen from any app, period. Best of all, the developer is very committed to the project and extremely responsive to customer support, and just a friendly, pleasant individual to correspond with. Sundial may not be the most “mission-critical” app on your phone, but if you’re the kind of person who looks skyward — and at app reviews — then this is more than worth the price of a coffee. Enjoy! 🌞🌝.Version: 7.0

Always betterI’ve had this app for a while.(over a year )I use it quite a bit don’t know if that makes me odd or informed. It was perfectly fine long time ago when I got it and it has done nothing but steadily get better and they will listen to your suggestions..Version: 8.10

Finally ... the watch app is back !!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻Update April 25th 2021 : The watch App is baaaaack !!! Wooo-hooooo ! 😃😃 Old review (2020): Too bad for version 6.3 no Apple Watch support anymore I bought the apps few years ago mainly that it was supporting Apple Watch. Since 6.3 it doesn’t. I can understand the reasons of the developper . But I’m very disappointed ☹️! Sorry... but I removed it from my iPhone. But it still a very good app. Review is 4 stars (no Apple Watch support) Cheers !!.Version: 7.0

Perfect!Brilliant & novel way to represent sun & moon times. Clear & easy to understand display. Also the ‘help’ is very informative. And NO ADS 👍 Many thanks to developer for a great app..Version: 3.2

A "Must Have" for MeThis simple app provides me when the sun and moon have moved through their various cycles. One of the unfortunate circumstances of modern civilization, especially for those who live in urban settings. We are no longer able, nor particularly required, to know the moment our Sun is kissing the horizon or when the Moon will set. This easy alert-friendly provides that information - and more. When ever I acquire a new device this is one of those apps I make sure has been re-installed. As you can tell I love this Sundial. Thank you..Version: 3.1

A worthy substitute for Dark SkyWhen Apple has purchased Dark Sky and enfolded its functions into their own Weather app, one feature that disappeared was the ability to mark the coming of the solstices and equinoxes. Sundial brings that feature back — without requiring a continuous subscription. And with an attractive, easy-to-use interface. One thing I would like to see in a paid update: an interface with Shortcuts which allows the user to trigger actions based on the position of the Sun. Turning lights on at Sunset would be one obvious implementation, but I’m sure imaginative users could think of more..Version: 9.10

Great design, responsive developerEDIT: the issue has been fixed! Thank you! Love this app 🙂🙂🙂 ~~~ I primarily bought this app for the watch widget which is very nice when it works. For $15 i got the watch and homescreen widgets. Unfortunately, the watch widget is very buggy. It frequently doesn’t show the correct sun position for my location (but does once I click through to the watch app). Furthermore the widget completely goes blank/black once my series 7 switches to the always on (dimmer) display. It’s really too bad because I like the design and info of this app a lot. I tried emailing the app developer weeks ago but they never replied..Version: 9.9

Awesome!Have been using it for almost a year and love it! I rarely buy apps or leave reviews but I feel like the fish from Spongebob who had Jellyfish Jelly for the first time lol🤣 it does everything I want it to. Side note: I had the free version for almost a year and finally decided to go Pro. The best part is the free version had no annoying adds (thank you), I was able to set up my alerts( you can only do one at a time on the free) and it tells you the percentages/stages of the sun and moon. Now I’m fancy and can do all the alerts I want🤪. I was not affected by the update pertaining to the Apple Watch. To all the people complaining about it: make your own app and add it your App, there problem solved😇. Overall, this is a pretty cool app with great features free or premium..Version: 6.5

Informative AppDry well thought out and put together app. Many useful features , premium is very low price, to unlock all features. Visually appealing too :).Version: 5.3

Why is moon always shown at same position as sun? It’s a useful app, but I cannot for the life of me understand all the 5-star reviews in the face of a huge bug: in the graphic display, the moon is always shown at the same position as the sun. That should occur only during a new moon. With a full moon, for instance, the moon should be 180 degrees away from the sun. Quarter moons should be 90 degrees away. Surely other users have noticed this! Am I missing something?.Version: 3.2

A Pleasure To UseA beautifully designed app! Really raises your awareness of the solar and lunar cycles in nature and your daily life. There are so many possible alert settings and really original alert sounds. A great app for the photographer who wants to take long exposure shots of a lake on a moonlit night; for the sunlover who wants to sunbathe exactly, say, 45 minutes before the mid-morning sun; for the gardener who wants to shelter precious exotic pot plants from sunlight during the hottest time of the day. Even alerts me to my bedtime, since I want to get up at sunrise. At the risk of sounding corny, the app seems designed with love and real enthusiasm. I use it daily. I just updated it to the latest version for a few dollars..Version: 8.12

At last what I was looking for!All I wanted was an app that would enable me to use twilight and sunrise/sunset times as an alarm clock! I don’t care about “golden hour” or photography considerations or sunset forecasts. You’d think something so basic would be easy to find. This app does exactly what I want and thankfully it includes nautical and civil dawn/twilight as well. My only suggestions would be to be able to custom calculate angles of the sun beyond the set points, but the set points are quite convenient as they are. Buy the premium version - it’s worth it!.Version: 6.3

Simple and beautifulThis app is gorgeous! I would love the ability to be notified about new moons as well as full ones, but other than that, no complaints..Version: 3.2

A bright ideaMuch of my natural joy in life comes from plenty of sunshine in the day and moonbeams at night. Though it is winter now and has been overcast for over a week this app is like being given the promise that, “The sun will come out tomorrow!” Intelligently designed and useable. Love the visual graphic of sun and moon arcs around the 24 hour period. Creates an anticipation for sunrise, and awareness of sunsets that I will always take the chance to watch when I can. This app brings the sun around! Thank you for developing it and making it readily available!.Version: 3.2

Little pleasures!I’m no expert, but I love being able to see for myself the days drawing out during the long winter months. I also love being able to see the phases of the moon. Easy to use, and clear to understand..Version: 3.10

BrilliantAbsolutely brilliant app.Version: 9.10

Sundial appFantastic app, unique concise informative and targeted display. My only criticism is the moon phase icon is Northern Hemisphere centric, not the illuminated way (side) we see the waxing and waning phases here in Southern Hemisphere Australia..Version: 3.2

LOVE ☀️🌙✨I imagine this app is appreciated by those who are total astronomy nerds (much respect ✌🏼). While I’ve never been a strong student of astronomy, I’ve learned so much on the app. The amount of information available is phenomenal, and very cool content. The personalised notification settings (so many to choose from!) has tuned me into the changing of the seasons reflected in the timing of the sun’s rising and setting… it has unexpectedly helped me feel more connected to the natural world. By far the coolest app that I found by chance, and will never delete. 💫.Version: 10.8

I Use This App Every Day!!Love this app! It’s just what I’ve been looking for! The visual graphics are prefect, and all the different specifications of sunlight and moonlight are comprehensive. I like to know sunrise and sunset, also knowing dawn and dusk now has been a pleasant enlightening for knowing how much longer you will be able to see at night, and when you will start seeing daylight in the morning. And it’s come in handy countless times for knowing how much daylight is left if I’m working in the yard or want to take the trash out before it’s totally dark. Or when will the wildlife start stirring outside at the first light of dawn- know I know the time! Get this app- if you like watching the sky, connecting with Mother Earth- you will love it!!.Version: 8.3

I love your app!Hi there, I love your app, it is so simple and clean but with a lot of options to customize. I liked it so much that I had to get premium!!! I love the alerts and I use them every day as I get to work before sunrise and leave after sunset!! I really wish there were options for notifications on the equinoxes and solstices, and other large-scale events like that! I don’t know if that would be feasible but I think it would add some fun and utility to the app. Thank you for your hard work on this app :).Version: 7.1

Great Solar Lunar App ✨Have always trusted this app for timely notifications & solar/lunar transits. I find my widgets and lock screen widgets are not updating instantly or even sometimes daily. (Despite location settings being properly set). Notifications are still working fine. Please issue a fix for updating speed on the widgets. I currently have IOS 16.3. Thanks!.Version: 9.10

I love this appI just love knowing certain astronomical times. Like solstices/equinoxes, full moons, and how much light is left in the day. I especially love the offset notification feature, so that I can know when it’s an hour before sunset if I want to make use of what’s left of the daylight. The widgets are also super informative too..Version: 10.8

Best Solar and Lunar Data AppMy work is often done at night so having a quick reference for sunset/sunrise and moon set/rise as well as illumination % is huge. Even more so is the easy visual representation to determine the moon position for my shift time. I haven’t seen a better or easy app out there! Also, I emailed the developer about an extra feature and it was added! So helpful to be able to scroll several days ahead for planning or behind for previous conditions. I love this app and highly recommend it..Version: 5.4

SunshineNice app for those interested in the cycle of the sun and moon..Version: 5.7

Previous review removed temporarily…My previous review of this fantastic app has been temporarily removed. I’ll be back after work today to leave another review (100% positive)..Version: 9.10

Update reviewI didn't realize this was an independently made app. I'm used to companies putting every little detail behind a pay wall nowadays. Anyways, I've used this app for as long as I can remember, I have other sun and moon apps but this is the most accurate and comprehensive. If I had an apple watch I would most certainly use the widget that shows the dial itself because of how much info it packs without being complicated. (Alas I don't have one) Great app..Version: 7.5

Great app and better complicationUseful and attractive app to keep track of the sun and moon. It is free and the complication is amazing! Thanks.Version: 3.8

AwesomeLove it. For me, wanting to figure exactly how the moon orbits the earth, this is the best app for it. Simple, clean display. Easy to see what is happening, what has happened and what will happen. Not to mention the pattern of the rise and set, with the expanding and contracting of daylight hours over the year..Version: 5.6

Perfect! This is def worth the AUD$15 price. Thorough and clear interface and functionality. Excellent directions, explanations, and how to videos. No junk. Nice design. Tick tick tick!.Version: 9.10

Has it allI am old school and don't use any accessory apps on my phone. I don't have games etc. This is the only app I pay for. And I love it. Using the alarms I know when it is going to get dark and I can plan to get done what I am working on. I need to hurry up because it will be dark in xyz hours. Great App if your day depends on sunlight. - Also for my fishing I use the moon feature. Very important for my fishing..Version: 9.10

Great app for runners, hikers or walkers.I like to time the start of my runs so I am on the trail when the sun rises. Gives me a boost of energy when the sun come up. Sundial makes this very easy to do. Plus the app is internet free; there is no backend server keeping track of your personal data. Also Sundial is easy on your battery. Alerts are very useful. Sundial is better than any of the other sun rise/sun set apps I looked at. Respect to the developer. Best app on my phone..Version: 6.5

Simple but effectiveAlways know rising and setting times of Sun and Moon for any location. It's also interesting to see the difference between clock midday and true (sundial) midday..Version: 10.8

Just what I was looking forBelieve it or not, I’ve been looking forever for an app that allows me to set custom notifications based on solar and lunar events. I’m so glad I finally found an app that lets me do just that. One feature this app doesn’t have that I would like, because I might be a bit obsessive, would be the ability to create notifications based around nautical and astronomical dawn and dusk in addition to what is already available. But overall, great app and definitely worth space on your phone..Version: 3.2

Subtle tweaks greatly improve an already brilliant appI have favoured this app from the start, my only grievances of the early versions being the absence of twilight alerts and displays (I’m an amateur astronomer). Earlier updates added the alerts. This latest update has perfected the exquisite visuals by adding in the twilight zones to the dial. Thanks so much 😁..Version: 4.0

Absolutely love this app!!!I use this app on a daily basis, especially now there's widget support. I'm totally blind, which makes the app even more useful since I can't tell when it's light or dark. The developer has been excellent in responding to any questions I've had. In addition, I'm so glad this app has returned to watch os. I'm also an astronomy nerd, so there's that haha. Keep up the great work!.Version: 7.0

Love this app!I use an IPhone 11 Pro. This app is useful all over the world. I use it frequently. From Europe to the USA to Asia to the South Pacific this app keeps me posted on sunrise, noon and sunset. The designers have really improved this app over the years and I am now using it much more frequently. I would recommend it for photography, boating, mountaineering or any other sport that is performed outdoors where the time of day or the angle of the sun is important This app will keep you on track for sun and moon transitions. Keep the updates coming it's working nicely..Version: 8.2

SundialLove this app. Obsession with daylight lengths and moon rises and REAL TIME not clock time. Perfect fit for me. Thanks..Version: 3.2

Wonderful app! This app packs a lot of information into an aesthetically pleasing format. I also greatly appreciate the iPad and Apple Watch apps that allow me to access and view this information from multiple platforms. I’ve looked at many similar apps, but I’ve found this one to be superior to its competitors. Can you tell that I like this 😉? The only suggestion I would make is including times for the Golden hour. Otherwise, I have no complaints whatsoever!.Version: 5.4

Best App Ever!I have installed several hundred apps over the years, and I have to say this is the most well thought out and coolest app I’ve ever seen. After an initial glitch which the developer personally reached out to me on, and was very helpful in resolving, it has worked flawlessly. The fact that it works on my phone, iPad and watch is absolutely awesome. There is so much information available in the app that I can’t think of another thing that should be added. It is well worth the $3 upgrade..Version: 5.7

Super useful app for astronomersI love how intuitive the sundial is to understand. Use it all the time. Highly recommend the premium version for some useful features..Version: 9.10

Does all I need. There are more complex apps out there but this is easy to read and can be set to your specific location. Looks pretty too..Version: 5.4

Good, clear, usefulNot exactly what I was looking for when I searched sundials, but it’s excellent nonetheless. You can see everything instantly and clearly. I turned the twilight feature off to make it even plainer, but you can have it on if you prefer. Great little tool..Version: 6.2

Love it! Developer very passionate!I honestly just downloaded it and immediately purchased the full version. Why? You can feel the love and dedication from the developer to provide the best info and explanations about solar and lunar cycles! I meditate a few times a day and wanted to implement more awareness of the times of day when it would be part of a certain cycle or in between them. Thank you for all your passionate work! Looking forward to your new stuff and will recommend to my students ❤️🙏🏼.Version: 4.5

Well designed & functionalLooks really good - especially on Apple Watch and gives the information clearly and simply. The way all apps should be designed..Version: 3.2

SundialThis app freeze while trying to open in iOS 9.3, will you solve this problem soon, as this app was functioning well before. Thanks Thank you, now this great App is working well, I appreciate if you will add in Lunar alerts NEW MOON RISE DATE & TIME ALERT. Best regards According my previous review, no action was taken to add NEW MOON DATE AND TIME. Hoping to do it in your next update. Thanks Thank you. It works well now. Appreciate if you can make all features Free. Best regards.Version: 10.9

Really neat informational apps. Few desired features.I find it fascinating to track and watch the change in astronomical events and patterns as the seasons change. I personally love the patterns created by the earth’s cycles. Would love to have more flexible alerts, like setting annual and monthly alerts for solar and lunar events for my own personal uses. Awesome all all around!.Version: 10.12

Great way to make moon and sunset plansThis is the best app I have come across to figure out both moon and sunrise/sunset plans. When biking in New England knowing the sunrise is important - you can plan on your headlight batteries making it through daybreak on the early morning rides. And the UX is superior. Thanks for the app. Would give it 10 stars if it could also do tides at a selected location. Tides are a moon thing ….Version: 8.7

Clear, bold graphic displays of sun &moon daysInitially my reaction was, “I guess this’ll do,” but now I’m enthusiastic about this app. New moon is tomorrow, and Equinox is in four or five days. NOW, it’s absolutely cool to see how the markers line up. The dots for sunrise & moonrise are next to each other. The dots for noon and moon peak will be adjacent tomorrow, and it’s plain as day that next week the chord of the sun will be half a circle. If the developers add the times for for astronomical & civil dawn and dusk, this app will be a definite 5!!.Version: 3.2

Amazing, blown away! This app is perfect if you’re looking for something to help you plan photography, or videography, around the sun and/ moon! Along with everything about it being awesome, the customer service is great! They responded to my emails within 12-24 hours every time, if not way faster than that. And they were really nice! Hope this review is helpful..Version: 9.3

How fantastic! As a long time sundial enthusiast I am delighted to have happened upon this Apo. I have made sundials of various types both in the Northern Hemisphere and now that I live in the South. I have also written software to calculate solar noon at various locations and times. This App. Does the lot! And more. Thank you..Version: 6.5

The platonic ideal of an iOS appDoes the job. Thanks 🌑🌒🌓🌕 😁.Version: 5.2

Wonderful App! Nothing else like it 🌞🌝👍Thank you so much for this app! I've been searching for something like this for years. A simple, visual representation of of the setting and rising of the sun and moon. Rather than just listing times or showing the common "sine wave" type graph, it shows the information on an intuitive 24 clock face. It's like a fancy complication on an expensive watch. Almost makes me want to get an Apple watch so I can have it on my wrist. I would gladly pay $5 for this, but it's free! Suggestion: the widget should have the same clock face as the app, just smaller..Version: 3.1

SundialOverall I really like the app. I love the level of detail it provides. I have installed in on my Apple Watch, iPhone, and iPad. One suggestion I would make for your next upgrade is to be able to sort the locations in the Favorites list, i.e., to be able to move the items in the list up or down. A great app and well worth the small investment to have all the features..Version: 8.13

Nice visualisationI enjoy the concise clock presentation of the data. For this amateur astronomer, it gives a good and comprehensive view of sun and moon interactions at a glance in case I’ve been cooped up in the office for too long, or under weeks of cloud cover..Version: 8.2

Detailed but simple to understandVery impressed with the app, and it’s well worth buying the full version to support the developers considering the quality. None of my weather apps had notifications for some of the things included here which was what I was looking for, and the layout is both detailed but presented in a way that’s aesthetically pleasing and easy to understand at a glance.Version: 7.5

It’s okI don’t like that they killed the classic widget, but hey, progress. Otherwise it’s a decent assortment of solar and lunar info, and a good selection of widgets (must pay in-app purchase for plus+ or whatever the f they call it). I use in combination with an app called “Moon,” which fills in the gaps of functionality and widgets (eg. Solar/lunar elevation chart widget). Should also mention that the shiny new widgets have been a rocky road in terms of development in the first months of their release—some days the widgets don’t load properly, or just show a black square. Will update of the situation gets better, but just saying, the dev charges premium prices fo amateur execution of the app. I’d probably look elsewhere if I hadn’t sunk money into it already for plus. So, eh..Version: 7.5

Watch complications are back!Thank you for the hard work to bring it back to the watch. It’s now back as a complication in all my faces..Version: 7.4

Great AppI downloaded this and almost immediately bought the full Sundial Plus, Widgets and Watch. Great app, which meets my needs perfectly. Great to have all the lunar and solar data that I need bundled into a single app and the customisation configurability is outstanding. The widgets are an equally outstanding feature and worth the extra investment. Also, I emailed the developer to ask a few questions before making the decision to buy the full package. Got a very quick answer that was clear and helpful. Thanks..Version: 9.10

FantasticSimple and easy to use. Quick glance and all the info is there. Highly recommended..Version: 4.2

ConnectedI bought this app so that I could be more in touch with natural cycles. I’m thinking of relating solar & lunar events to my periods of reflection and meditation (but not a religious way or anything). I’d love to have a direction indicator that showed where the sun or moon is in relation to me. Could this be added?.Version: 5.4

GreatI like the app and I’ve been using it for quite a while now..Version: 7.6

Best appLove this app.Version: 6.5

Excellent!Being blind, I think it’s good for me to know what the sun and moon are doing. Until I had this app, it was hard for me to know when it was getting dark and how dark it would be at night based upon the moon’s illumination. For safety reasons, I try not to be out alone for too long in certain places after dark. Besides all that, I think it’s kind of cool and interesting to know what the sun and moon are doing. also, it’s nice to know when the equinoxes and solstices are. Now I think it would be cool to receive notifications about things such as solar and lunar eclipses. Maybe advanced notifications about what time they would be in our area based on current location..Version: 10.12

Great appOn both iPhone and I watch, exactly what I was looking for, like the notifications too, thank you.Version: 3.2

This app is amazing!Set an alarm for an hour before sunset to footed your fur babies and they won’t be off schedule and bother you for a week when the stoopid time change thing happens. Also, set an alarm for a certain amount before sunset so you have enough time to drive to your favorite place to see it. Or, be sure to be home before sunset everyday if your worried about vampires and/or werewolves. LOL! Anyway, you get the point. The alarms can happen before and/or after whichever solar / lunar event you want ... and then some..Version: 9.10

Added everything back and more! There isn’t any app available that meets the needs of sun and moon tracking so well. So thankful for the dedication of the developer!.Version: 7.0

Very good ApplicationIt helps a lot to us It would have been better if for the app alerts it had a custom period of time before and after and not only fixed 15 /30 min Also it would be better if it will have an option in alerts to choose if the minutes before or after the events will be equal minutes (60 min for an hour in 12hours days) or real minutes depending on the length of the day. Regards.Version: 3.8

It’s A WinnerThis is a seriously good app if you’re at all interested in what the sun and moon are up to. The iPhone and iPad versions share variants of a well thought out and cleanly executed design, and each has a host of useful alerts. To exemplify one: an alert that sunset or dusk is only an hour away reminds you to make the most of the remaining daylight...and walk the dog. Good as these versions are, though, the Apple Watch version is where the app truly excels. Newly rewritten in Swift and bursting with features, the Watch app offers a startling number of different, and differently configurable, complications for suitable faces (Infograph is a great one), and has a good selection of customisable widgets only a tap away. Add to all that a responsive developer who diligently hunts out and squishes the odd bug, and it’s a winner..Version: 7.3

AvisCool.Version: 3.1

User-Friendly Instant FavoriteThis app delivers everything I expected it to and then some. The app is highly customizable and settings are delightfully easy to understand. The app functions well for tracking solar and lunar cycles on its own, and I found the in app purchase price to be quite modest given the obvious amount of work that's gone in to making this app. My only request would be a more customizable Today widget, but I feel that's a nitpick at this point..Version: 6.2

FeisalI find this app extremely useful on a daily basis several times per day. It very accurately notifies me of all of our Islamic daily prayer times which are all calculated according to the movement of the sun from sunrise to sunset. Such an amazing app to have on my phone wherever I go. Thank you very much..Version: 6.5
