✓ Just went from 5 to 1I’ve been using this app for a while. So far it does everything a word processing app should without a bunch of filler and junk to wade through. Every time I’ve found an app even marginally good for saving written materials, it either goes away or they change it and my stuff is lost. Please leave this one alone Apple! It works , it’s simple and there is no where else to save this stuff. Why downgrade to 1? I just found out it lost a book I was writing! I accidentally found some other files but can’t get back to them. It says 25 files but most are their junk, I can’t find except the one I just put on and now I’m glad I printed it cause my book is gone The improvements rated an increase in stars. I still don’t trust it, so I back up to a real computer if it’s important, or print. I can’t do that with a book, and Apple still makes if hard to use this as a real word processing program . If they did, it’d be great. The problem is Apple seems to think these are game machines and no one would use it for serious work. But if you are disabled, and weight matters, you need this thing to function as a computer. The other reason the stars are only 3 is because Apple has known for years the I pad and I pad pro have touch screen problems and have never seen fit to fix them . Instead of cute and often pain in the rear updates, why not actually fix the device ?.Version: 9.1.1
✓ Absolutely NO supportI’ve been using the paid app for a couple of years without too much drama. Now, with the last couple of updates, I cannot import pictures, photos etc in-line when I copy a document into the app. I’ve tried multiple times to get some assistance using all the advertised contacts but still no answer, no support and no response. This feedback is a last resort. As it stands, I’m in the process of deleting the paid app and will be happy to pay for an app that has an interested developer on the other end..Version: 8.0.0

✓ Numerous continuing problemsI actually loved this in the free version. It's only after paying for it that I have numerous problems. Currently it is as if the program is corrupted or reached data capacity. Im afraid to delete and reinstall Incase I lose all my files which I am legally required to keep ( in my profession). After loading and starting a doc, the response to typing is s----l-----o-------w. Everything freezes up for about 20 seconds. This happens multiple times. This makes the application for which I bought this app (clinical note taking) impossible and results in inaccuracies which just are not acceptable in an app that was not inexpensive. As with the other problems I've had, customer service will respond to my first contact and then leaves me high and dry with no further response..Version: 7.7.1
✓ Not for Scrivener UsersI read all the assorted literature and how users should update to the Pro ~ so I did, but this app does not allow its users to open Scrivener documents-in-progress on the iPad, so it is effectively useless. Hoping it wouldn’t be a complete waste, I opened a PDF form to see what it could do. It opened the document but did not allow for any parts of the form to be filled in. In order to create a working iPad Pro, I had to download two different apps: Storyist and Adobe Fill & Sign. Very misleading about what it can actually do..Version: 7.6.0
✓ Extremely disappointingI was a faithful user of Textilus 5 which had PDF annotation and full formatting for notes... I was forced to upgrade to Pro and now have lost PDF annotation functionality! Shouldn't the paid, Pro version be better? I can't understand it. I'm hoping this issue is resolved soon. Otherwise I recommend finding a different app..Version: 6.2

✓ Poor customer supportFirst of all I bought the original version of this app and then got confused about where all the formatting options had gone, turns out they stripped them from original version so they could add them to the pro version and charge me again for this. Being one of the few word processors for the iPad I bought it again. Then when I had a problem with the manner in which it save documents I emailed the company for some help and received absolutely no help what so ever. Not only have I been charged twice for what is essentially the same product but they then go silent when I ask for help. Can't recommend this product at all due to poor support and devious marketing techniques..Version: 7.5.0
✓ This is rather buggy, but okay if..You don't mind constantly fixing the font, or the specific document formatting that you've set 10 times already. Even if you save a formatting style to open for new documents it doesn't stick, and you're stuck with using Helvetica font even after you've changed it to Times New Roman. The formatting features are just very buggy, so avoid if that's what you need. I just got fed up trying to write a novel and having it format all wrong. Hope they fix it, I like the notebook folder function!.Version: 7.8.1
✓ Lost documentsI app has been very frustrating. I bought it several years ago, then bought the newer version because I thought the "Pro" release could help. No. I can write things with it but it simply gets rid of my documents. There are a few that have survived being sent to Dropbox but they will only open in Dropbox, not in Textilus. Very disappointing - I had hoped to have a word processor in iOS, but this isn't going to be it. There has been no support - emails written to knowtilus have been completely ignored..Version: 7.8.2
✓ Avoid at all costsThey promise all kinds of things in the product description. I had no trouble at all with the free version, which I quite like, so I purchased the 'pro' version, based on the product description. Once I paid and downloaded it, I discovered that you can't even annotate pdf documents at all, which you can in the free version! I sent 2 messages through the 'feedback' option, and they replied to neither one of them. ✓ Really great, until I purchased ⚠️⚠️I had used the free version for sometime. Really great app found no other app that compares. So on March 25, 2020 I purchased the Pro version and now I open the app to a blank white screen, keyboard showing. I’m unable to exit the keyboard and have no ability to use it either. I uninstalled the app, shut down my device (iPad) started my device again after 10 minutes only to have the same problems. Should have kept the free version at least I was able to use it. Paid $4.99 plus tax for a product I can’t use. ✓ Major problem has started showing up.Editing an existing text document a (.) all of a sudden started showing up at the beginning of each last line in a paragraph. When I touch the return key to move to next paragraph it places the cursor in the last line of the same paragraph right after the (.) which was never typed into the document. Very weird. ✓ I used to love this app!I found this when I received my first iPad2 and needed a word processor. It did what I needed. It needed expansion and and I offered suggestions, which they responded to with a thank you, and mostly they incorporated them. Each update added capability and made the experience better while I went through 4 more iPad versions to the 10.5 Pro I use now. The latest version of OSx from apple and update from Textilus has “Devolved” the app to an unusable state. There are so many problems now that I can not use it. I write short stories, a lot of short stories for contests and magazines. I’ve sent several emails describing the problems and have not received a single acknowledgement for them. A MAJOR problem that’s forcing me to look at other options is when I’m editing and click on the suggested word listed it shuts down Textilus, dumps me to OSx and I lose my work. The App Store told me to “Get” Textilus Pro, but it was just a new install and NONE OF MY DOCUMENTS WERE THERE. I often go really long periods of time not opening Textilus until I need it. I had quite a few documents stored there, and ONLY there, and they are all gone. GONE, IRREPLACEABLE! ✓ Asked to Pay AGAINI have paid for this app a couple of times and believed that it was well worth it. Including an upgrade to PRO. I recently bought a new IPad and opened the app only to learn that I need to buy it again. This is an unacceptable reason to require paying money for something I ALREADY purchased. If there are new features at least give me a choice of using my current paid for version or upgrading to a different iteration. Nope. I deleted the samples folder and hit a ridiculous limit. ✓ Easy 2 Use-Serious BugThe program is fairly fast to learn and easy to use. It has adequate functions and features for an iPhone or an iPad. The limitation appears to be a recently developed bug which will not allow me to paste text. A word processor that cannot paste information has very limited use. ✓ Save is inconsistentLove to use the app but have found that I can’t rely on it to save my work properly. I have auto save set but found that unreliable so also use ‘save and close’. A few times I found my work wasn’t saved but I’d assume that was just user error and have become much more disciplined saving work. After returning from a holiday I’ve opened my document and found several thousand words have vanished. It’s not user error, I had, before my trip away, saved closed and reopened my document several times and I now find I’m missing work from several saves ago. Frankly, it’s a bit demoralising to write thousands of words only to then redo them further down the line through no fault of one’s own..Version: 12.0.2

✓ WARNING! Doesn't work. Unsafe re data. Features cut. AVOID!*** update: I've just discovered the claimed "Dropbox syncing" doesn't work. Data gets lost between iPhone and iPad version making this app unusable and unsafe. Safe yourself headaches. Avoid this. I don't like leaving bad reviews. But this developer has made me angry with the way he treats his customers. His "updates" often remove more features than they add. I've been caught out before (offline syncing, text expander support to name just two features puled in the past). I thought this latest update might be different. Now I feel like a fool for parting with my money. This so called "pro" version is little more than a cut down version of the previous app - with several important features removed! the interface is simpler, which is good (it is mess in version 5.0), but there is no longer a way to favourite Dropbox sub folder folders, for example. Nowhere in the update info is there a mention of this. Note to developer: If you remove features, let your customers know in the "What's changed" section, so they can make an informed decision before purchase. Other developers do this routinely. ✓ Gone in an instantI used Textilus regularly, it was fabulous on my iPad when travelling. Until the moment when I undated my iOS and the application disappeared - with all my wp files. All of them. I'd backed many to Dropbox - but not all. I lost one piece of writing that can never be replaced. It's outrageous that a new OS makes an app and ALL documents disappear. Notice comes up saying I'm a Free User. It tries to collect a third fee. I am a twice-paid user and want a working App! Unfortunately, now that there is a new paid upgrade available I get a nag screen in this legacy version giving me the opportunity to pay to upgrade. ✓ Used this app for 7 yearsI have been using Textilus for so many years now. It has been great, it does all I need. I even paid for the new $5.99 charge. But I have been locked out of my ipad and bought a new one. When changing over. It lost all my data. I backed up to the “icloud” that textilus offers and it doesn’t work! It is only a localized backup. I.e. if the ipad that has the info us no longer functioning. It is gone! I almost lost all of my 14 years of writing twice now. If I wasn’t a compulsive saver I would have! They used to offer on itunes a way to directly take the documents off of Textilus but that is gone. Now you have to send 1 folder at a time as a zip via email. And it only saved as a .RTF which can not be transferred to any other app on the iPhone or iPad. The work I put into figuring out how to back up my writing was costly. Now I feel I have to pay the $5.99 a month with Office 365 just to know my work is saved and able to be accessed from any device. Sad really, I loved this app..Version: 11.1.2
