✓ Amazing even for beginnersWow. I LOVE this app. I love how it’s so simple, yet you can create amazing things with it. And I’m not lying. I truly believe it’s amazing. I’m an artist that’s been trying to learn different techniques, like graffiti kinda art, with all the little doodles, and this is really helping me. It’s got different little characters and cute little cartoony things in it too! I’ve only had it for a a tiny while, but I already love it. It’s a bit hard to understand at first, but you figure out what to do very quickly. I recommend it to anyone looking for an app that helps beginners in art and ppl that already have experience. It’s an amazing app, and I don’t regret downloading it at all..Version: 2.3

✓ Love this appI design printable, educational activities for toddlers and preschoolers. I use this app to create all the graphics and it’s wonderful! It’s a great app! Edit: I still love this app and am constantly improving my skills! After using it for so long I tend to do some things pretty fast and often when I go to ungroup something I will accidentally hit sticker instead. I use to be able to delete stickers but now I can’t and my stickers are just flooded with accidents. I hope a future update will resolve this issue!.Version: 2.4.4

I have produced hundreds of images using this tool for various purposes and it never disappoints. ✓ My FavoriteThis is my favorite app in the world. It has helped expand my imagination and extend my imagination beyond what I though I was capable of. I have some of my creations created on this app listed for sale on Adobe stock site. Since using this app, I started using Illustrator more and enhanced my knowledge of Illustrator. I especially love import svg feature and also the ability to edit a shape where I can skew it. I do most of my graphic design in here and then open in Illustrator for .ai saving. I get my designs done quicker in this app. I use this app in an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil That $30/yr is worth it.Version: 1.9.2
✓ TerrificI went Pro with this app when it was fairly new. The price was excellent for the content and options for creating really different stuff. It's great. It forces me to look at design with a wholly different perspective. Although the idea, I suspect, is to get the creative juices flowing by providing some premade design options and then having us build on that, it would be great if the company added some new designs once in a while. ✓ Perfect app for creating on the goThis app is seriously awesome. It allows you to create all kinds of images without needing artistic skills. They have TONS of shapes to chose from and more packs you can download. My only complaint is I still want some sort of draw feature. Even a basic one. You can export projects and images and my favorite part is saving to Dropbox. I keep Unity projects saved there and just pop the image right into my assets folder. It shows up immediately in Unity and I can start using it..Version: 1.5.7

✓ Great App, Two FlawsThe prefab shapes are great to work with. UI is by far the best of any app (I even prefer it to illustrator on my desktop!) From my experience with it for about a week so far, Pro is worth it. The only snares are 1. the lack of a true gradient tool (there is “shadow” but its not nearly as intuitive as a regular gradient tool) 2. lack of freehand drawing. If this app gets these two features so that I don’t have to swap over to Inkpad or Vectornator to finish up, then I’d never use program another again..Version: 2.4

But some things to consider adding...Would love to be able to lock some shapes so they don't move, Also with so many projects I would absolutely love it I was able to make folders to store them in. I bought the deluxe pack and it's not only a money saver but also wonderful to not have to worry about purchasing new packs! I would also like the option to be able to save things as shapes and not just as stickers so I can expand and compress (vertically and horizontally) as well as scale while keeping the original ratio. ✓ Great! But some suggestions..This app is super helpful for me, especially because I do freelance logo design here and there. This has a lot more features than one would expect from a phone application. Absolutely killer! I’ve had this app for a while and I can’t help but notice that the “save video” option has changed. Now you get four different options for how the video will get played back. While those transitions do look pretty cool, I miss the video playback style where it was just a time lapse of every change that was made from the blank canvas to the final product. It was always super satisfying to watch my projects come together and it helped me a lot to see which shapes and methods I ditched and which ones I used along the way. It was also funny to show my friends and see their reaction to my almost-creepy desire for every little thing to be perfect😂 also if you could create an option to erase parts of shapes in the shape editor, that’d be cool! With a hardness adjuster and all the other standard things that an erase/fill brush should come with! Just a thought. My main thing is that I really miss the timelapse-style playback! This is a powerhouse tool for designers and vector illustrators. I would like to see the developers embrace this in a more pro style way. We need the ability to change the canvas sizes manually with the ability to change to inches, or whatever other measurement. Could be awesome if you guys added a pen tool as a secondary option to shape building. Would be great to see even more export options like PDF & EPS. This is a powerful pro tool so I’d love to see that embraced more. I think this is the very best vector creation software for iOS/iPad. ✓ Love this appFirst I have never had a crash or loss of work on my iPad Pro or iPhone 11 Pro as some others have reported. Prior to Assembly I used Affinity Designer ( and still do ) but can now do relatively low-to- medium complexity designs much faster with Assembly. Rather than creating shapes from scratch, it’s easier to use an existing shape and simply modify it. I only have two requests for new features. First, a grid with snapping, and/or improved multi-object alignment. Second, real gradient fills, even if only a linear option. The more I use this app, the more I love it..Version: 2.3

It has been on my phone for many years and I've done some good work with it-- starting on the phone, passing through pro tools thanks to Assembly exports, and ending in my bank account. ✓ Having so much fun with this little app!I started using this yesterday and already I have turned 10 designs from concepts in my heads into something I can send to the printer. It needs a few tweaks to be even more amazing though. Some features I’d like: 1. Layers of sorts for making versions of images - like same background different text elements, for example. 2. Better ability to map a diagonal line off one polygon and draw shapes (or sides of shapes) parallel to it, right now it just has to be eyeballed. 3. An option to LOCK items in place on the palate because it’s easy to move them by accident. 4. Better cut and pasting between projects (example, I want the same text from one project on another. I can copy the elements all I want in the first project, but taking it out doesn’t seem to exist yet). 5. Better color picker and save color experience. I find my favorite colors are not saved correctly and there is no easy way to dial back to recent previous colors. Overall, it works and is great. Just needs to be better. I quickly realised how much it was going to be very frustrating to do anything intricate as there is no way of locking a layer, I struggle to move a shape without it resizing itself and there is no real special filters or effects apart from the shadow tool. The real big plus side is the array of shapes it has. This is definitely a tool that needs another tool to help design something different..Version: 2.4.4

The reason I write, besides from telling you how much I love your app, is to make a humble user request for a way to organize files. For people that use the app every once in a while just for fun, a minimalistic workspace is perfect, but letting users make collections of drawings of the same project would change my life even more because that way I can put everything I want in one folder and that way I don’t have to go looking for it on my entire list of projects. If you don’t want to make a folder system or anything like that, just giving the ability to order the arrangement of the projects would be enough. I’d Much prefer it if it accepted numerical input for shape dimensions so it can be used to hand make accurate graphs and charts. I don’t want a permanent standing order for something I might use occasionally or not at all, but I’m happy to have a paid for copy for casual use. ✓ AssemblyIf you take the time to discover its almost limitless possibilities, you will have trouble putting your iPad down. Not only are there hundreds of shapes to start with, the shapes are almost infinitely changeable. The learning curve is a little steep: you have to tap everything before moving it. You have to figure out how to move, as opposed to change, a shape. The rules of play are initially a little strict: you can’t really draw your own objects from scratch, you can’t paint or draw per se, you have to think outside the shape. A little more specific explanation about the functions in the help menu would save some time. But after playing with it a while, you will find yourself moving and altering shapes in your sleep. I am deliciously obsessed with its possibilities. One important tip: if you find it lagging, restart your iPad. Love love love it. Thank you..Version: 2.3

✓ Some improvements.I’ve downloaded many drawing and vector apps in the past but none of them compare to Assembly. The GUI is very easy to use for editing vectors or creating vector, and the color too. I just wanted to give a few suggestions for the app and if they can get added. Note I don’t think they will be added because of the chances of them going through with it. Anyways her are my ideas. 1) Adding a more dynamic color panel for a larger span of colors. Although we can just input color, but this would be nice. 2) Ability to add fonts from google, this would be great to have a larger variety of fonts. 3) Making a better alignment tool, I don’t really like the current alignment tool, to many lines appear and its always shifted .1 to the left or right of the actual shape. 4) Adding brushes, Im not sure how they will feel about this since the add is known for its creativity with only shapes, and shadows. But there is a limit and trying to create more detailed artwork it difficult. Not many tools, maybe a pen, brush, fill. I have more but little at a time. Also I create must of my artwork via iPhone and I have to say its great. Time passes by and learning is the best part about it..Version: 2.3

✓ Used it from the very beginningThis app is becoming far too much for storage for long term use and with all the updates I can hardly move a square without it jumping a mile. It would be a good idea to have an easy back up system for your old projects onto a PC or just have an off button for pre-made unwanted ‘stickers’. This would cut down the loading time as you can remove half of the content. The update with the layout options makes no sense when it was much more aesthetically pleasing to have it tucked away instead of splattered across the top, not only do they all look similar with different numbers but even when tapping to flip it to landscape it did nothing. This is mainly because it was struggling to keep up with the app in the first place. I have no issues with slowness on any other apps but this one since recent updates. I have helped with Assembly’s Glitches in the past and I am happy to do so again if needed..Version: 1.9.1

✓ No new shapes/stickersSubscription issues- yes $3.99/wk is A LOT for an app but of course there are monthly and weekly options which is nice. My only complaint- if everyone using it is paying a subscription fee, why isn’t some of that money used to pay designers to create new content? Why after so many years aren’t there any new shapes or stickers to choose from? It’s a little disappointing. Overall, the app is great. There are TONS of shapes and stickers. My only issue is that even with subscription, it’s the same content I had available to me three years ago which seems like it should be plenty of time to come up with and design some new content… like adding mom stickers. Why are there dad stickers but still no mom stickers? And the character stickers have so few options it just seems like there could be at least a few more available, for an app that charges subscription fees. I do love this app though!.Version: 2.4.4

✓ Great App with a Great Development TeamThis app can do amazing things for a mobile app. My workflow always starts out using Assembly to create my vector and ends using Adobe Illustrator to refine and add file specifications or add a new piece made with Assembly to a larger long-term project in Illustrator. Assembly saves me a lot of time, and the added optional social aspect and the accessibility of the development team make it my favorite mobile design app. If I didn't have Assembly, I would spend hours everyday lost in Adobe Illustrator creating something that would take 45 minutes with Assembly. ✓ Best app of its kindI don’t usually do reviews very often, but was compelled to after using this app. I love it! It’s by far the best one I’ve used and I’ve already recommended it to a few people. As some one that isn’t that great at using illustrator. I was looking for something simpler to use to make vector art to put on t-shirts etc and this app ticks all the boxes for me. It’s so quick and easy to use and I love how many different shapes are available which means you can make pretty much anything if you put your mind to it. I also love the fact you can export it as a PNG file with a transparent background, which for me is ultra handy. If I could add one thing to this already amazing app, would be to be able to add gradient colour to shapes and text. That is it really. ✓ Amazing BUT...subscription model is notI think this is a great app for designing more efficiently and I would definitely invest in it if I knew I’d use it constantly but it’s hard to predict whether I’d get full use of it or not. I know there’s an option to subscribe weekly or monthly but as someone who likes to create projects here and there it’s not something I’d want to buy each time I feel like using it. I would prefer to buy the full version of the app knowing I have the freedom to create at my own discretion and without having to feel guilty about not using it as much as I should be. It’d be nice if the app had a payment model like sketch where you get a year full of updates and you get to keep the old version once it expires. ✓ So good! but requesting a slight adjustment.This app is awesome. Great set up and can create something as simple or as complex as you desire. The slight adjustment Id like to see would be the ability to lock the object as a certain size. Unfortunately the “rotate object” and “resize object” is under one button. ✓ Incredible.If you are a graphic designer or artist that needs to get simple or moderate work done in a pinch, Assembly won't let you down. The team is constantly adding new feature's, I hope soon it will be able to rival the likes of Adobe Illustrator. As of now though, if you are planning on doing complex graphic designs with multiple layers and gradients, it may not be suitable. Though, it is by far the greatest graphic design tool in the App Store by lightyears. ✓ Fantastic.I’ve tried many different iOS apps for making logos and graphics with simple shapes, including everything Adobe has to offer. This is by far the best and seems to work almost exactly how I want it to. Turn text into vector graphics and separate the letters in a second. Not frustrating at all when trying to select multiple objects and arrange them. Lots of different premade shapes to choose from. One thing that would be cool (don’t think it’s possible now at least) is if you could transform/distort shapes in more ways than just with the vertical and horizontal sliders and making them larger/smaller..Version: 1.5.7

✓ Amazing!!! But NEEDS Improvement!First off let me say that the app is so amazing. However there are many crucial things I think it needs. -First of all a proper layering system like in Procreate or Pixelmator. -We need tons of more snapping features within the editing of individual shapes. Currently when you go to edit an individual shale it removes almost all snapping points. This make it incredibly hard to transform shapes into exactly how you want them. -Ability to import regular JPG files for reference. This would be really helpful and just for reference to overall shapes on actual pictures. -Ability to Erase parts of the shapes in the app. -Ability to have transparent background (checkerboard pattern) within the editing canvas. -Also one last thing that would be so amazing is adding some type of animation/gif creator. I make video games and there is huge potential for this app to be super useful for game designers. If there was simply a sort of story board on the bottom that had multiple images within an animation and then you could rotate and image slightly and move to the next image to rotate it again or adjust it to create simple animations. Then have the ability to export as .gif and as a file with all .png in it to then move over to the game engine. ✓ Great App, but Missing a Few FeaturesI downloaded this app under the impression that it was a vector art app, and although it can export as vector files, it is missing a few features that vector art depends on. It only gives you the ability to add pre-made shapes and then stretch and move those, it also doesn’t allow for making lines like those in a program such as illustrator. ✓ LOVE this app!I am not one to write reviews, but this app has convinced me that it’s worth writing one. First off, this design system is great for beginners in the vector world who want to broaden their creativity. It helps you to be comfortable using basic shapes to create something so much more. I am normally a traditional artist using goache and other mediums. I’ve always been nervous with the vector world because I never thought I could continue my creativity the way I’ve wanted. Well, I was wrong. In fact, this has helped me be able to view shapes differently that I’ll be able to use in my traditional work still. I highly recommend this app and embrace it. There are a few quirks just like ANY app can have. I hope some day they will add where you can set up animation shorts with the characters you create. Also I would love if additional fonts and additional holiday icons could be added. This has REALLY helped me a lot and I can’t thank you enough. The bundled shapes give you a lot of inspiration for ways to use basic shapes to build up to complex images. This is absolutely my favourite app for quick and effective graphic creation. I would like to see a way to lock shapes, so that you don’t accidentally resize them while moving them. Saving new palettes is also clunky; I’d like to be able to add my own colours using RGB codes for projects that have a set colour scheme.
