Habit-Bull: Daily Goal Planner for Negative User Reviews

No iPad version.Really good app. no iPad version though, so the usual version is all bloated and big, like they always are when it's a phone app trying to be compatible w an iPad. The biggest problem for me though is that the data doesn't sync between iPad/phone. It's supposed to, but every time it tries to, it crashes. Also, like other people have said, it'd be nice if you didn't have the pic of hiker woman's back as the start up pic. It'd be nice if you could choose, or just if it was something more neutral..Version: 1.2.8

Sneaky subscriptionBeen using habit bull for ages for just two to three tasks. Over this last week I noticed coming on my phone app telling me to subscribe. I think a lot of the apps are cashing in right now which is a real shame. Good app, but worth the subscription, not sure..Version: 1.4.0

Good function but serious problemsI bought in-app premium upgrade of Habit Tracker (Habitbull) but I’ve encountered some problems. For one of the problems, I’ve emailed the developer’s gmail but got no reply. I have to use the app on different devices, but on my iPhone 8, it crashed twice. The problem is you can only see the starting picture but it will just quit and you have to delete and re-install the app to get it back to work. This problem didn’t happen again after two times. But I still would like the developer to check its full compatibility with new iPhones as the last update is 6mon ago. I still can bear this one. But now I have another problem. After sign out from my account, I would like to log in again to sync my data, but the app says my password is wrong. Because the password is stored in 1Password and I’m sure it was the original one. Even if I go to settings and tap “forgot password”, the system never sent email to reset the password. The funny thing is when I used the same email address and registered in the app with another password, it accepted the registration and then said I don’t have the premium function, which is not surprising because I can still use sync on my iPhone SE with the account registered with the same email. This reminds me of critical problems of the sync and server for this habit tracker app. I paid 7.99 dollars for this so I want the problem addressed ASAP, otherwise, I have to report problem to Apple App Store and refund. At least, please, THE developer, say something..Version: 1.2.8

Doesn't even allow me to registerI decided to download this app to fix some of my bad habits. I got a roadblock though as soon as I downloaded it. I wasn't able to register. I tried to register through email but it wouldn't stop loading. I waited for ten minutes but it was still loading. Since registering with email didn't work I decided to try and connect through Facebook. I connected and everything but the Facebook page would just close and bring me back to the main screen of habitbull telling m to register, login, or conenct through Facebook. Please work this out I would really like to use this app but I'm completely unable to..Version: 1.2.8

Needs more frequent updatesApp works well, but updates are infrequent. This app has so much potential, but improvements are very slow and minor. To developers: please put a little more time into improving this app! Would love to give it 5 stars, but 1-2 minor updates to fix a few bugs each year is simply not enough. Just patching up the app each year is not going to cut it. Please develop the app further, this was once the gold standard for habit tracking, now this app is middle of the pack at best..Version: 1.4.12

Very GlitchyThe app works perfectly fine when only managing a few habits. However, over the past year as I have been adding more habits the app has become extremely slow; glitching and freezing almost every time I open it. This is extremely frustrating as I am trying to use the app as a productivity tool when it just ends up wasting time every time I open it..Version: 1.4.0

I can’t get passed registrationHi there I’m on iOS11 and I can’t register either by Facebook or through email. I’ve updated and still no luck.Version: 1.2.8

Messes up the orderI input my habits but the app doesn’t keep them in order. How hard is it to put the last added habit last on the list? I dislike this because most of my habits are time-based. It should be easy to look at the daily list and see what comes next, instead I have to scroll through the whole list because the app doesn’t keep them in the order I added them. Instead it inserted the last added habit somewhere in the middle of my list. I’ve even tried numbering them or alphabetizing, it still keeps messing it up. The programming is weird and shoddy..Version: 1.2.8

The pressure to buy...I likely should have expected it. I used the free version for about a month and found it easy to use and a valuable tool - would have given it a four star at that point... Then the pop ups started. EVERY time I open the app it asks me to upgrade. And more frustrating, EVERY time I click the “X” to cancel out of the upgrade screen, it instead asks me to confirm my purchase. I have to “X” out three times at minimum before I can then enter in my habits. Not acceptable - I expect better..Version: 1.4.0

Disappointed. The app itself is great. Read the other review on here and was pleased to see the low subscription cost. However - this is now incorrect. £18 for the Premium version, not £5. Have to pay this or take 7 days Free Trial and enter card details to add more than 5 habits..Version: 1.3.5

Subscription now?! 😶All of a sudden gone from useful free app to almost $30 annual subscription? Seriously? Poor form..Version: 1.4.0

Best app ever - once you get it open without crashing! This is the best habit tracker out there - hands down... if it didn’t crash. It perfectly suits my needs for developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and reaching my learning goals. My only issue is opening it is such a pain. It sometimes crashes up to 5 or 6 times- or more to get the app started. I still paid for premium despite this flaw, but if I find a competitor that has a similar setup I’ll switch over in a heartbeat because it is annoying. Once the app successfully opens - it never crashes but I’m concerned for data loss..Version: 1.3.5

Not freeCosts money for more than five habits..Version: 1.3.5

Premium doesn't work.Charged me for a Premium. Tried to sync between accounts and it doesn't work at all. App keeps crashing and now I can't ask for a refund because the website of the developer is broken and they don't support the app anymore. I hope apple remove them from the store..Version: 1.3.5

Good, until it crashedWas enjoying the app then one morning it crashed upon login. Been trying for days to reinstate but crashes with Facebook login. I’d try to login by any other means it was me to repurchase my subscription and emt let me link my Facebook login as “already in use”. Customer support not offered any solutions or refund..Version: 1.4.6

Black screenSomehow it constantly shows a black screen..Version: 1.4.0

App has many problems and poor customer serviceAt some point the app stopped counting the number of days that I had been counting a habit and I had to write to customer service many times before they finally answered. They suggested that I delete all the data on my iPhone and then they tried to help me re-install all of it, but the app was not allowing me to re-install it, so again after writing to customer service many times, they asked me to send a screen shot of my phone to them. After viewing my screen shot, they told that there was a problem with their app and I would not be able to retrieve any of my data. This whole process was very time consuming. I would recommend finding a habit app that is not HabitBull..Version: 1.3.5

Crashed.. againThis app crashed on me a few months ago and I lost all my data. Despite this I decided I would give the app another go as it’s a great app and I’ve found it very useful. However, today the app has crashed and yet again I’ve lost all the data. I’ve tried deleting and re-downloading the app, but with no luck. Every time I open the app it crashes after a couple of seconds. I would suggest AVOIDING this app as it will only disappoint, when everything you have been building and working on for months disappears..Version: 1.4.8

Useless appI have been asking the devs for weeks to fix this app since it won’t move past the loading screen. It crashes every single time and I haven’t been able to use it for ages. Please fix it before everyone starts to migrate to another app. Stil fails to open it has been a month.Version: 1.4.8

Keeps Changing End DateI have no idea why I don’t see anyone else talking about this but the app repeatedly shifts my habit’s set end date, which makes it very difficult to track progress. Instead of counting down the days, the “days to completion” number stays the same, which results in the end date repeatedly getting pushed out with each passing day. And this is with me meeting my habit goals every week. Super annoying. Notifications also seem to be a weird greeting generator so you’ll have it saying things like “Bonjour general!” and “Aloha cheeky monkey!” unless you turn them off..Version: 1.4.6

Can’t get past a section 😣Trying to add my target 🎯 number of days and not matter what amount I add it keeps saying “oops wrong number” annoying! Made me give up on this app as I simply don’t have time to figure some so Mundane out!.Version: 1.3.5

Usually love it but this app can’t take travelWhen I travel through time zones the apps keeps bugging out and won’t get back on track. Every completed task I click on shows up on days ahead or turns red. Just wishing it can work again. Tried resetting but even that didn’t help....Version: 1.4.6

Functional but ugly.Great app. One of the best functionally for habit tracking, one of the worst aesthetically, unfortunately..Version: 1.4.12

Goal tracking numbers flawedI like the simplicity, but there is an error tracking goals with number requirements. When setting goals, you choose yes/no (you did it or did not do it) or number goals (you track a specific number of something). When you set a number goal, the default is “not more than” so you can put something like consume “not more than” 1500 calories. When the app actually creates the goal, it switches “not more than” to “at least”. So now the goal is only accomplished if you eat 1500 calories OR MORE. I have written to them at least 3 times and have only gotten an automated response. The problem may be corrected in the paid version, but I won’t risk spending money on the paid one if the free one works this poorly and I can’t get support for the problem..Version: 1.3.5

The Return.. Uh ohI used HabitBull several years ago and finally decided to come back and try building my routines again. I remember loving the app and interface and was excited to get started. However, shortly after opening the app I saw that the color scheme was off. I’m not sure if this is just an instance for my phone, but I tried updating and nothing worked. Here’s the issue I’m seeing (since I can’t seem to share a screen shot): When I add a new habit or even go to the setting screen, the background for each line is dark gray, and the words are black. Thus, I can’t read what the words say for each line and it’s extremely hard to see any words without my phone brightness on 100%. Is this is a known issue or is there a way to fix this? If I can get back to it being normal, I will gladly update my review to the 4-5 stars I was expecting from this great app. Carl.Version: 1.4.0

Lost all my habits and no support!Basically, the app couldn’t sync my habits and a few days ago I had to change my personal data from one iPhone to another iPhone, it was then that I found out that the app was not syncing and every time I tried to do that the app would simply crash. I paid premium for a full year only to use less than two months. I tried to ask for refund, contacted the developers but no one replies. My advice is to avoid this app and to not buy premium as the features don’t work properly and there is no support whatsoever!.Version: 1.3.5

No Notifications, No Icon Badge?I am testing the free version; so far, I have not been able to get notifications, and the app does not show up in the "Notifications" section on the iPhone Settings page. Also, no icon badge to show how many items are undone. I see from other commenters that I am not alone in having these problems. Those are very critical features, but otherwise, the app looks promising. Needless to say, I won’t be purchasing the premium version without these features being fully functional. I have written to the developer and will update my review based upon their response..Version: 1.2.8

ADHD under controlHaving ADHD has made my life a nightmare for years has been progressively getting worse over the years. This app was suggested in a book for ADHD organizing help so I thought I’d give it a try as I was getting desperate and I am absolutely glad that I did. This app has been such a help at keeping me on track and so far has been one of the few things that has seemed to work in helping me cope with my problems as a result of my disorder. I can’t thank the creators of this app enough, this truly has been a godsend for me. Even after I build up habits I will more than likely keep using the app so I don’t relapse back into my old habits and forgetfulness..Version: 1.3.5

Devastatingly terrible updateLatest update makes it so that a paid subscription model pop-up comes up every time you open the app - I specifically paid for the app because it was a one-off rather than subscription, so I actually feel I should now get my money back, as the app appears to have been purposefully broken if you don’t pay for this subscription. Now, you can’t seem to click on days to tick or cross them (at most it ticks or crosses the next day along, so the wrong one, and then after that pressing again doesn’t change anything anyway). Even if I get my money back, this will be incredibly frustrating, as I’ve been tracking percentage-based progress on my habits for yours and this will basically mean throwing away all that past progress. Incredibly poor from the developers, I am very, very disappointed..Version: 1.4.0

DisappointingBought the free version which was fine; then bought premium to sync on IPhone and IPad and wont do it; tried several different things. Contacted the app people with 3 emails and no response whatsoever, despite them saying they read every email. Want a refund and a bit of courtesy with a response; not how you should do business.Version: 1.2.8

Looks great; seems buggyGreat idea. Looks slick and should work smoothly. But I’ve run into a number of bugs. Occasionally the app will crash inexplicably when on just one habit page. Sometimes the forum won’t even load. A shame there are such issues. (iPhone 6).Version: 1.2.8

Update means app no longer worksI've just updated the app, which I'd paid for, and now opens with a splash screen picture of person looking looking forward across a scene. It then promptly closes. I've tried repeatedly tried opening it but always with the same results. Can't use the app..Version: 1.4.8

It keeps crashingApp crashes on startup more often than not. I do really like it though. Shame..Version: 1.3

Changed paymentI like the app and based on other reviews was going to pay a one off payment to upgrade. However when I went to do this it turns out that the app is an annual subscription. This has turned me off the idea as I have tried other apps that are similar with annual subscriptions that again I would not pay for every year as they do not appear to have major upgrades etc. I don’t mind paying once for something, but not to pay each year for something that does not have scope for much development from the original premise..Version: 1.3.5

Doesn’t workThis app was working great until a recent update. It’s now slow and laggy. Whenever I tap to complete a day, it either marks another day, marks it as incomplete or just doesn’t work at all. Deleting this app and I’m glad I didn’t pay for the premium..Version: 1.4.0

Do not recommendApp completely breaks after a while and the UI becomes unusable. If you stick to the free version you will be spammed with a huge prompt to purchase the app with a very bad x button that leads you to the App Store half the time to purchase (sleazy tactic). Even if you upgrade to premium, when you have issues such as the UI completely breaking and the app becoming unusable, the support staff ignore all communication. In short - garbage app made by a garbage company..Version: 1.4.0

Disappointed??? No reminder option???Bought full version thinking I would be able to set reminders or alarms for certain times. But can’t, and without that not sure how it’s any different from just writing a checklist. The whole reason I bought an app like this was for reminders, otherwise I’ll just have to keep logging in every hour of every day to see what I’m meant to do and that’s going to get tired quick... please ADD ALARM/ REMINDER OPTION???.Version: 1.2.8

Great app overallBut please update your app for iphone X. And what’s the nonsense with the money grabbing subscription model?.Version: 1.3.5

Essential statistic missing - Daily averageExcellent App. However basic and essential statistic missing - Daily average. Please consider..Version: 1.4.16

Was v good but stopped working. Expensive subscription for simple appI really liked this app. The only habit app that enabled habit tracking in the exact formats I need. And the sounds it makes when you succeed in following your habit are particularly pleasing. I also like the reminders. However , several times it suddenly stopped working and I needed to update to fix the bug . It then completely stopped working and wouldn’t update. Had to delete the app and reinstall. Luckily I had exported my data (handy feature built in). Not sure if I can get it working again and still have several months on the 12 month sub I had to buy. £17 pa is a lot for an app where there are other similar free products. Though I was willing to pay when it worked. Now feel let down..Version: 1.4.7

Crashes trying buy premiumUpdate: later in the day I removed reinstalled the app and was able to buy premium. Working now. maybe it was a server issue. Only issue I see now that if you have a task that is only needed twice (example Tuesday & Thursday) you still see it Every Day of the week. Other habit apps screen those out on the non relevant days. Maybe a good update developers? App crashes to desktop anytime you try to buy premium. I hope the account sign up and then the no premium issue was not just a email phishing scam?.Version: 1.2.8

Totally unusableIv had this app over a year, started out great so I bought the premium version, ever since then it has went downhill, adding more habits caused the app to crash more often, and now it is totally unusable. I deleted and reinstalled losing all my data and now it won’t even work with one Habit. Emailed support with no response, shame because it was a good app.Version: 1.4.6

Needs some fixes - can’t track “not more than” habitsI’ve been testing out a few habit apps at the moment. This one is nicely designed and I’d been using it for about a week. However, today I tried to add two goals which use the number tracking and should be successful if you do X not more than Y - for example, “Smoke not more than 10 cigarettes”. But when you go into track progress of these goals, they actually show as requiring you to do the task “at least” that many times to be successful - for example, smoke at least 10 cigarettes. This is definitely NOT what I want to track lol. I was going to provide feedback straight to the developer about this, but I couldn’t seem to find a “Contact us” option in the app. If you just need “yes/no” habits, or habits which require you to do “at least X” of something, then this app still may be useful for you..Version: 1.4.12

App crashesI’ve used this app for a long time and I am a premium member but after the last update I can’t go back more than 3 months without it crashing! This needs fixing as what is the point of me tracking for years only to not be able to access any of my older months or see my notes?.Version: 1.4.0

Go awayGet lost with your rating nag.Version: 1.2.8

Heap of trash. Stay clear. How is this app still running? Aren’t the e developers embarrassed with the whole thing. Anyone still using this app, doesn’t know that there are tens of apps that do what this one does but with infinite more style, with zero bugs, that are so much more fun, innovative and professional, as opposed to this heap of trash. I stayed using this app for way too long. I was afraid to change from what I was used to. What on earth was I waiting for?! Goodness knows, but now I am using an app simply named ‘habit tracker’. Paid a small Amount for a years subscription. £4 I think. I never write reviews but I had to do this one. Be responsible, Take the app down and recommend the better apps to your users..Version: 1.4.8

App crashes regularlyI downloaded app onto new phone, started new habit-bull account, and it would crash each time I tried to save first goal. I rebooted phone, deleted and restarted app, same thing x3. I found it would let me save if I opened a different area of the app before beginning to save first goal. Then when I opened up app next day, habit-bull crashed again. Too bad, part of habit building is keeping the measuring smooth so it doesn’t get in the way. Hopefully it gets fixed because there’s definitely room in the world for this irreverent, playful app..Version: 1.4.5

Okay tracking app BUTI bought the full version of this app before they switched to a monthly subscription service. I chose not to register an account at the time. Since I switched phones, apparently this means I lose my premium status. I disagree with the idea that not registering an account means forfeiting access to something I paid for. The app is fine for tracking habits, but now premium is almost offensively overpriced. I will not be returning and do not recommend this app when there is a multitude of other choices..Version: 1.4.1

ScamThis app used to be good. Now there is a pop up message to subscribe to the overpriced premium service whenever you open the app. The pop up has a fake ‘X’ in the top corner to close the message, which if you press, causes your account to agree to the premium subscription. If you are not careful you may accidentally authorise the excessive payment with your thumbprint. Disappointing tactics..Version: 1.4.0

Very DisappointingYour application keeps crashing . It’s been over a few week now. It’s fails to Authentic existing users once they are registered both on IOS AND ANDRIOD. If you logout, you can’t get back in. Doesn’t recognise the password. If you are logged in already it’s lets you in with cached credentials but try doing something like a sync and it’s becomes unresponsive. Resulting in crashing. Sounds like it keeps losing the token hence the connection break. Great when it works, so far this has frequent occurrence :( I have actually bought this app twice. Once on iPhone and then on my fire. If you can’t resolve issues and leave us hanging then I want a full refund for both purchases. It’s no good if it’s unreliable..Version: 1.2.8

Irritations, and........ they don’t bother to reply when you contact them about them. Oh, and if you’re considering the ‘premium’ version - which is merely the ability to add more than five habits - they insist on having your email address or you’ll lose the premium functionality, and presumably all your data, if you need to reinstall. Well dodgy..Version: 1.2.8

Not workingI’ve had this for years and the recent upgrade has introduced a bug or an attempt to force a user to buy a new subscription as I can no longer open the app. The app starts to open then gets redirected to a subscription page. When I click the X to close I get an error message and taken back to subscription options again..Version: 1.4.4

Lost my account. Developer is not replying to my emailI purchased this app long time ago and when installed it back my premium account was gone. I then emailed them about this and they are not responding. It seems that I am not the only one as others are also experiencing the same. Take Caution when buying this app..Version: 1.2.8

App does not openI’ve been using the free version for over a year and found it useful. For the last week or so, the app fails to open on my iPhone 6s Plus on iOS 13.7..Version: 1.4.6

Used to be ok, now shows ad every timeEvery time I start the app it insists on showing the full screen “free 7 day trial” ad, and you have to click it away to use the app. Sick and tired of apps forcing ads into your face, especially trying to herd users into subscription models for features many of them don’t want. For folks like me this practice is like lemon juice on a paper cut. Starting to look for alternatives..Version: 1.4.8

Streaks Lost Due to Year ChangeI have looked and looked and looked and cannot find a way to contact anyone about this app. I truly love the simplicity and design of this app, and it has helped me build some great habits. My qualm is that it could not / did not keep track of the streaks during the week of the new year. I believe there is an issue with the programming of the app that does not account for the year change properly. I would love to carry over my habits from 2017 into 2018, but the streak count started over on January 7th, the first day of the first full week of the year. I hope that someone from the app reads this as it was the only way I could think to get your attention..Version: 1.2.8

BrokenThis app seems to be just what I’ve been looking for. Unfortunately it’s broken on the iPad. You can’t add habits. (It doesn’t give you any more options after the ‘Habit Name’ section.). Also, it’s not optimized for the iPad, just a port of the iPhone version that you have to increase in size that can only be used in portrait mode. For something that they’re charging an incredibly high price for the premium version ($20 a year? Yikes!) you’d expect more. As I said, this seems like it would be an incredible app and I’d consider purchasing it, but not for a broken implementation on iPad. For what they’re charging for the Premium version you should be able to use it on all of your devices..Version: 1.3.5

There is an error in the appI really like habitbull but unfortunately it’s stopped working. I can no longer tap the days to make them go green or red for one particular habit. Please can someone get back to me about this if possible. Thanks!.Version: 1.4.0

Shame it does not lastThis is a great app for habit tracking; really nice clean and simple layout. The issues really become apparent after a few months of use ie when you are become dependant on it. I couldn’t look at my tracking past 6 months without it crashing and now it won’t launch at all. I wonder if it is because I haven’t subscribed as I only need the capability offered with the basic app. The developers offer an email for queries but I’ve had no response. Its a shame because its a good app but the customer service and longevity lets it down..Version: 1.4.6

You’re going to make me spend money? Seriously? You’re really going to make us pay money to track more than 5 habits? Really?.Version: 1.4.16
