Flacbox: Hi-Res Music Player for Positive User Reviews

A BEAUTIFUL workaround for listening to your own creationsIn a world of endless subscriptions/cloud services and DRM music streaming apps, somehow the simple functions of a personal MP3 player don’t seem possible anymore - until I found this app… I love to mix my own beats as a hobby. To listen to the mixes on the go after all that hard work (best part) I used to use Apple Music to upload my music to my iCloud library (don’t ask me how) but for whatever reason this little trick stopped working on me. That’s when I discovered this little gem. So simple to use. Just create a DropBox account, plop in the ridiculously massive WAV’s, FLAC’s, AIF’s or whatever you fancy, open this app and bang - instantly available on the go. LOVVE how you can download to your phone with this too. No more blitzing through my data listening to massive 500+ mB WAV files on repeat. Massive functionality for a free app. Thank you for putting this out there 🙏🙏🙏.Version: 4.2

Lack details in bit rate and sample rateSo far so good, however it's lacking in information to show the bit rate and sample rate for the songs in the interface, this would be great to hve that shown..Version: 2.5

Perfect app butThe app is awesome but it keeps backing up the music so I can’t listen to it offline unless I keep downloading my songs please fix this.Version: 2.5

ThanksGreat app, does exactly as stated!.Version: 1.8

-I generally love this app. It solved a problem I had, providing easy access to music offline and also a fairly nice appearance. But to improve I hope there would be more customisable themes for the user interface..Version: 2.0

Great app - exactly what I wanted.Great app - exactly what I wanted. I digitized all of my music collection and stored it on a NAS. Wanted a non-Apple way to play this music without having to deal with iTunes or iMusic or iWhatever. Flacbox fit the bill perfectly. Great playback quality. Intuitive interface. Easy to navigate. A+.Version: 4.2

Stay-by music playerI’m using Flacbox for about 2 years, seen crashes and improvements and can say that the latter is overtaking the first. Now with the premium account enjoying audio files downloads by whole album/audiobook. Glad to have such a pretty and mighty player that supports lossless too. Thanks very much..Version: 3.2

Love itTy for frequent updates.Version: 4.7

Also plays mp3 filesUseful way to add music to iphone without faffing around with itunes..Version: 2.4

FlacboxVery good app cloud use a music widget other then that it has everything in a music app great Job.Version: 4.4

Surprised how good this is.I've tried a lot of players that stream from Dropbox, this one is the best. I have my entire music collection on Dropbox. No other app that streams has as good interface and sound quality as Flacbox. The 10 Band equalizer is making the difference with my pair of JBL Charge 3 speakers. I like that the playlist works from Dropbox and also the ability to download the files on the playlist to my iPad to keep the files locally. All these features work in the free version but I think it's worth paying the few bucks to the developer for the ad-free version..Version: 1.8

Excellent features, crashes frequentlyI was looking for a fully featured app which can do smb. I was very happy and have been using it for some time without problems. Recent updates mean it has been crashing about every 15 mins. And it’s doesn’t pick up where it was on restart. Frustrating!.Version: 3.4

Easy and reliableWell designed. Transferred 117 flac albums via iTunes, flacbox indexed it fine on both iPhone 7 plus and iPad pro 12.9 2nd gen..Version: 2.0

New update glitchyBluetooth playback suddenly not working with latest update. Works 1 out of 10 times, other times it just shows the file playing but no audio passes..Version: 3.5

BrilliantDose everything a player should plus way way more.. thank you.Version: 2.4

5 stars music appPremium build. Soo happly with this app! Thanks the Developers!!!! Good job! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼.Version: 2.8

OK music player, missing a few basic featuresThis is an alright music player. It's fairly easy to use and I have my entire music library stored inside the app and I can navigate through it well enough. One important feature it appears to be missing is gapless playback. Would be nice if they implemented it. But anytime I email them for a suggestion, you will maybe get a response 3 months later, if at all. Better support there would be appreciated..Version: 4.6

👁👄👁Nice 👌.Version: 3.2

Very impressive appJust wanted to say thank you for the recent Flacbox app update. I have successfully done a full backup on my iPhone X using the new updated app. Then this afternoon I successfully did a restore onto my new iPhone Xs Max. The restore worked perfectly and I have all my settings, album art, music files and playlists all there exactly as I had on my old phone. It took only about 15 minutes for the restore to work. Your Flacbox was an excellent app, but this update has made an excellent app EVEN BETTER..Version: 2.1

IanA simple and stable app which is ideal for playing flac music from an NAS server or internet service. User friendly interface makes it easy to find and play chosen music. NB Make sure that flac files are tagged and numbered when ripped so that albums play in the right order. Put the number tag at the top of the tag list. I find Windows Media Player 11 does this very well..Version: 1.8

PERFECT! AMAZING!Thank You! I love FLACBOX! It’s everything I’ve been looking for in a music player.Version: 3.8

Great appI have used EverMusic app for a day or two and had problems. Flacbox is the better than any other music app out there. If have any problems with it then I'll write a review, supporting your improvements on this app by give you supportive advice. Thanks great app, totally cool and quick when download is ready to play. There is one thing that needs to be fixed. When i listen to an hour long play list it seems that the buffering slows down and if there is any way you can make loud faster like it did before especially for the one hour long play list. When playing, it stalls out and pauses the play list and would like to see improvement on that. Other than that, i think this is still the best music player app out there:) Thank you.Version: 2.1

My go-to playerPleasantly surprised with this app. I had tried a couple of higher res players and this is the best in terms of sound quality. But the cherry on top is the cloud integration: works seamlessly with my OneDrive. Also - when there were difficulties with this recently, I contacted them to highlight this. Not only did they come back to me promptly to explain they were working on an upgrade, but they also contacted me by email the following week to let me know the update and fix were ready. Kudos!.Version: 2.4

Very Very nice app, I’m impressed!I had major issues with the way Apple iPhone handles the metadata in music imported from a PC. I decided to use this app and give it a try. I used the WiFi Drive to transfer my music from my PC by just dragging over the entire folder. Took some time for my 20+ gigs of music to move over, but in the end, this app read the metadata correctly and even supplied album art. Sweet. I went ahead and bought the Pro version because this is the app I was looking for to do the job right!.Version: 2.8

Play music offline on iPhoneAmazing application. It does exactly what you need..Version: 3.2

Awesome AppI was streaming flacs from my dropbox account within seconds of install. Can I buy an ad free version?.Version: 1.8

WOWFinally the player I searched everywhere for has arrived. I’m blown away and decided to buy the first time I used it. I honestly couldn’t find one that I could justify paying for. Even plays wma files.Version: 2.5

Very good but new update glitchyHello i a long time user and supporter of your app. the newest update on feb 23rd caused me to not be able to copy songs directly from safari into flacbox. they disappear and go nowhere instead of normally like in the files tab. i also cannot play music while recording snapchats anymore... please fix this. thank you.Version: 2.9

For those missing control of their musicI’m in the UK and to buy the full app (one time purchase not subscription !!!!) is less than a tenner. If you spend that the app does most you can think of and more. I haven’t used it much but today someone sent me an mp3 and I was glad to have a place to save the mp3 (in files>>Flacbox). I hope to sort out my library soon :).Version: 4.0

Good but....Works well though there is an annoying bug where if you set Repeat to “One Song” and close the player when you’re finished, it will lose the behaviour even though the repeat icon says it is set to one song..Version: 3.7

Worth checking outI’ve walked back my first review due to a lot of issues with SMB playback (freezing during track, freezing between tracks, etc). I don’t yet know enough about the issue to say that it’s really the app’s fault vs a configuration issue with my SMB server, but it’s impacting my ability to use this as my “go-to” player. Still, there are a ton of useful features and thoughtful design aspects here and it’s well worth checking out. Other connection types besides SMB may be less problematic..Version: 3.2

Everything you would want in a playerI use this app to listen to podcasts and sermons that I want to have locally but not in my iTunes library. Great for managing files as it has robust cloud service interface. Since I study the material bookmark feature is awesome and works well with apple watch so you can bookmark while walking and listening. My only gripe is that I wish the developer would fix the lock screen controls to rewind and bookmark. As opposed to bookmark and fast forward. Would be five star if this change was made. It is a little annoying that is change or improvement has not been implemented especially because I have been asking for it for over half a year, and the developer takes pride in consistently updating the app. Please implement this change..Version: 3.8

Would be 5 stars but inconsistent recognition of tags for offline mediaFor whatever reason doesn’t list all ‘albums’ by an artist even when the songs from these albums appear in the list when you toggle between songs/albums view after having located an artist. All tags are identical, I have even deleted the entire media library and rebuilt but the behaviour persists. Makes no sense at all..Version: 4.2

Great appCan't fault it, does everything I need and want it to do..Version: 1.8

Great app, but on issueI love this app, I purchased the pro version so I can download whole albums and not just songs. The issue is when I close all my apps at night before bed to shut my phone down and give it a break, I have to redownload my albums when I wake up. Once downloaded for offline play shouldn’t they be staying downloaded? It’s no big deal but I love my albums and love to listen to them around the house somewhere but I want to be able to know I’m gonna be able to listen to them if I close out of the app and I’m out somewhere. If I’m out somewhere I don’t have WiFi and I don’t have unlimited data so I can’t just redownload my music every time I close the app. If you can fix the issue so the albums stay downloaded even upon closing the app, I will do another review and give 5 stars! 😃.Version: 2.5

No Problems!I saw previous posts, but this (80 this August) lady found no problems! Once I figured out how to download my music, it played flawlessly in car, stopping for calls and restarting afterwards. No stalling while playing a song ever. Thank you for a player that won’t twist my arm for a monthly payment 😊❤️! And an equalizer! Nice work techie!!! Ok, just one small problem, playing speed. All by itself it starts playing the song faster. Does this in the middle of the song so I have to open the app to settings, speed and tap normal speed..Version: 3.2

Great App!!Love it. You can tag your files in the app, and everything. Lossless and all! Only thing is I wish that you could drag songs quicker when rearranging your playlists into a certain order other than alphabetical etc. because when you have so many songs it takes DAYS to make it right. Also one last thing is I wish you could change the text size to make it smaller and even change change the shape of your covers to be just a normal square with the edges. Most cover arts have the parental advisory in the bottom corners, and it gets cut off in this app. Other than that, 0 complaints. The app started randomly crashing a couple days ago, but I just uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Reset everything sadly, but no crashing. Maybe add an account feature where it saves playlists and stuff? Thank you for this amazing app! <3.Version: 4.2

Good updateGood update, responsive developer. Thank you!.Version: 5.2

Brilliant music playerWay better than VOX with Loop and similar services. Pay Dropbox instead and have your own choosing of apps. This app has 24-bit audio support (disabled by default) and very neat library building with online tagging and album covers. And you can reach your NAS in local network via Samba as well and add files from there to your library and for offline use. No problem with displaying UTF-8 and UTF-16 chars. So no gibberish and funny looking characters in song names. Navigating thru your library could have been better organized (say you go under an artist but cannot list albums, just songs) but still the best app among what I have tried (pretty much everything in the App Store) so far..Version: 1.8

Best Ever Flac and HiRes playerThis is by far the best flac player of all times, but I am missing APE support. It loads the .ape file, but wont play. Otherwise transfer of files from another apps to it is super easy, takes three seconds and voila, any album plays. Sound is outstanding and otherwise no issueas at all. 100% recommendation!.Version: 2.5

Great app needs updateI love it and now I can manage my music files I download to my iPad Pro. Only thing is in slide-view the buttons get all mashed over each other and the buttons on the right side of the app don’t work. This is the problem in split view as well. Still a great app and the iPad is even more powerful with it. The creators will get my support when I see another update that fixes this..Version: 3.2

I like it but...It still crashes pretty frequently. But the absolutely, bone-crushingly, life-sappingly worst thing about this app is when you want to add songs from your NAS to be stored on your phone. If you have a large library and want to add a song by, say, Yazoo or ZZ Top, you have to scroll through the hundreds of artistes who come before in the alphabetical list. There’s no quick way to jump to a particular letter as there is in iTunes. And then - this makes me want to cry with frustration - the app jumps back to the music list. You can’t stay within the Yazoo folder and choose songs from a second album - no - you have to go through the whole scrolling rigmarole again. Aaarghhhh! Sort it out, guys..Version: 2.0

Great cloud set upConnects to my box account well. My box account is the old 50gb free account. Links all folders and artwork without problems..Version: 1.8

Best Music App for downloaded musicEvery other garbage music app offers their “full” services only by subscription. In today’s day and age, that’s a scam. No one should be forced to buy a subscription to access full features on an app. Only exception are apps that offer streaming services like music or movies. So yes, use this app instead. You get an equalizer as well. You can drag and drop music files via your PC..Version: 4.0

Very stable and simpleProbs with other flac apps led me to this one. V stable which is the main thing !.Version: 1.8

Awesome AppDoes everything I need in a flac music player.Version: 2.7

Plucky independentFlacbox delivers with being both a streamer and playing with your (lossless these days!) pay-to-“own” files. The full version isn’t cheap, but there is quality in the finer details. I don’t have a problem with Apple Music / iTunes, and I certainly don’t resent my iDevice, but as an old-timer I really appreciate this “old-school” substitute..Version: 4.2

Very good appCan you make it work with Siri.Version: 4.0

One of my favourite appsAbsolutely worth the purchase!.Version: 4.2

Tried again and love it!A little less than a year ago I started trying to stream my own (mostly high rez) music collection. I tried several of the obvious choices in the App Store, including Flacbox. It was all pretty frustrating and I gave up on it. Too much effort for buggy software, poor synchronization, missing songs, etc. Next I tried Roon and Roon Arc. That showed promise at first - but had much of the same problems only at a very high price point. I gave up on that too (I use an Aurender in my main (old fashioned 2 big speaker) system. A week or two ago I decided to try a few App Store solutions again to see if they might have become more viable. Flacbox was the clear winner and I’ve been working with it on both my iPhone and my iPad. I am thrilled with Flacbox v4.2! Look, nothing in this space is perfect yet. You need some patience and some time to re-download, re-sync, change song orders (with a great sort feature), etc. But now I have 125gb of uncompressed music on both my Apple devices and can use the online files (synced to my Google Drive) to replace downloads whenever I want (I haven’t streamed my online files much yet). Lastly, the Flacbox album display is beautiful. I highly recommend Flacbox and now just hope the app developer has a sustainable business model and keeps this app and future versions running like v4.2 does now..Version: 4.2

Just one fix then it’ll be perfect(please read)Hello flacbox devs I’ve been using this app for about 6months now and I’m really enjoying it. The bug issues if reported are fixed really soon and I very much appreciate that. But I’ll get to my main point, I and many others would be very delighted to see if the lyrics option is added since there don’t seem to be any as of now. I know it can be a hard task and easier said than done so I don’t mind waiting long for it to get done I’ve just thought that it would be a nice addition to the already amazing app. Thanks for reading.Version: 3.7

The only app with a one-time payment for premiumI absolutely hate subscription-based services that gatekeep the best features behind a monthly subscription. premium for this app is basically a one-time payment to get rid of ads and have more playlists. i respect it..Version: 4.4

Almost perfect! This is a necessity for anyone who gets their music from other places other than streaming services. A lot of great artists don't have everything up on streaming services -- deep cuts, rarities, etc. So having a solid Audio Player is a must. Flacbox is the best Ive come across, and its at a reasonable price point, unlike the other very excellent (but deeply overpriced subscription based Audio Player). One thing I would like to see, is a bit of polish in the UI. Its good, but its not great. I find that the navigation makes for a less than smooth UX. Being able to have Music, Artist, Album, Song on the bottom level would be nice, or maybe being able to customize the bottom level would be nice. Also, I think a bit more elegance in the interface is in order, something akin to the Sony Walkman (Or maybe even implementing skins)! Otherwise, fantastic app -- a permanent app of my iPhone! Keep it up!.Version: 4.4

Amazing app!! Get it nowThis app is extremely intuitive, you have flexibility while using, very simple to use amazing amazing amazing.Version: 4.2

Mega AND ogg support! If you have music you paid for in a mega account, and it happens to be in ogg format because most everything can play oggs while being open-source, and their not copy protected like mp3s, this app can do it. In fact I'm having a hard time finding many apps that support mega at all, and strangely, even security conscious open source mega does not play ogg files for some lame reason, even though you can stream other formats of music. So imagine my surprise when I'm just playing around in the app, no music on this new phone to even play yet, and low and behold I see the mega icon under cloud support. Vlc has cloud support, but no mega. Mega has an audio/video player, but no oggs. This can't be that rare of a situation can it? In fact I see you guys just started supporting oggs recently. So thanks devs. Open-source (ogg) and security (mega) imo, go hand in hand, maybe I'm just crazy. This is the one perfect app for both. When I finally pay for some apps in a few weeks, this will absolutely be one of them..Version: 2.0

Good sound quality!!!The sound quality is very good compared to some other apps I’ve used in the past. The only thing really was it was a little confusing to get going and use at first. Additionally being able to access the apple iTunes music already installed by your computer instead of copying the entire library again and eating storage. Apple phones don’t use an SD card, remember.? Just sayin’ lol. Thanks good app!.Version: 4.2

It crashes beyond beliefBecause it crashes so often on my iPhone 7 Plus, I decided to remove the app, install it again and pay the fee. This way I get the latest with all bug fixes. I added all my play list from OneDrive opus file library. When I play the files, this app crashes after 20 seconds. It does it over and over and over again. Once in a while, it plays for a few minutes. But then it crashes. I give 5 stars on features and design. Zero on software quality. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!!.Version: 2.0

Great for offline music, bookmarks and variable speed pitch good for learning and practicingUse it offline music, bookmarks and variable speed pitch make it great for learning and practice. Much improvement over Musicbox which it resembles. Works well on an iPad in split screen mode, except for the “missing buttons” mentioned below. The pitch/speed correction works well on an iPad, at least the high end one I use it on. ==Developer- really would be useful to have a pause/play button in bookmark mode, and a rewind 10 secs button. :).Version: 4.2

A wonderful bargain!Very nice and a real bargain at the price. Essential app to needed to play flac files. Apple should have included the format as standard in IOS..Version: 1.8

So much potential but far too many bugsI’ve been using this for almost 12 months now. I really wanted to buy the Pro version but can’t bring myself as It has too many bugs when connecting to network music sources. Also various other bugs that pop up. So much potential, but in the end just frustration..Version: 2.9

Missing critical feature !!!!!!GREAT APP! A few bugs though. Should add "Upload Album art" sometimes when I put my album title in the audio tags, it doesn't always pick up the right art cover. Please fix this!!!!!!.Version: 2.0

Good so farImpressive that it synchronized my library of 2500+ albums. However, PLEASE add album sort by ARTIST!!!! Browsing a large album collection is much more difficult by title only..Version: 3.8

Simple nas music playerEasy to use and set up music player that can see smb share on my freenas server. Only small grumble is the display when the music is playing' it could be improved by the addition of a visualisation when the music is actually playing. Otherwise really good and for free.Version: 1.8

Stop auto playThis is an amazing application that plays most audio files, provides album data, and organizes your media. However, they need to add an option that allows the user to play one song and then STOP! I hate the fact that this automatically loads the next song. I DJ with this app and have to fight to stop the next track from automatically playing. PLEASE add this feature and it would be perfect!.Version: 4.1

Pioneering…One of my genius friend turned me on to this app to share his meditative music!! He has four decades of work and now as his audience the nuisance listen and feedback I can offer has really been a blessing for us both. We both have classical piano background in our past and he has stimulated my desire to return to playing and recording and sharing with my fellow artists and musician this player!! Maillo.Version: 4.2

Valuable appEasy to use, clear interface, works with FLAC files on a NAS and Chromecast Audio.Version: 2.5

Good, but has some rough edgesOne such rough edge is that when you return to the player after not using it for a while, it loses your position in the audio file. Hence podcasts become a pain..Version: 2.6

Useful playerI use this to stream FLAC at 44 or 24/96 from a server on my Wi-fi network. Works like a charm, happy. I use a limited range of facilities, no play lists or streaming but it certainly sounds great and is easy to use. Thumbs up!.Version: 3.2

AbiChange the app icon then i will rate 5 star.Version: 3.0

THANK YOU <3I’ve been struggling for years to find an app to fit my music playing needs. This is gold. Thank you so much for creating it. Please don’t ever change it. THANK YOU!!!.Version: 3.4

Really a great app.I have been looking for a good, no nonsense mp3 player/app for my large collection of mp3 music and flacs, and now, at last, I have found it. This app connects seamlessly to Dropbox and many other sources, allows you to selectively download your music for offline listening. Includes standard features such as playlists, etc. and works great and so far, with no technical issues at all. There is also a streaming device which I have not tried yet. Great app!.Version: 2.0

Hard to beat music playerI have all my MP3’s stored in google drive and downloaded them to Flacbox with no issues, edited all the audio tags and gained album covers. Sound quality is Amazing for a third party app, really impressed as I tried quite a few but none had the same loudness or sound quality, I upgraded to pro and it was definitely a good choice :).Version: 3.0

Great overall appHas all of the nice features I would expect from a music player, and even a unique ability to slow down/speed up the playback. The only thing this application lacks however is a ‘cross fade’ function. I searched everywhere but there doesn’t seem to be a feature that lets the tracks fade into one another, which is a disappointment..Version: 2.8

Great player.Cloud access is flawless, but as already stated, why are songs not in running order, but alphabetical?.Version: 1.7

It's greatThis app is probably the best one the I've used so far.Version: 1.5

:)Absolutely the best music app ever , it’s straight up saved me a lot of money.Version: 2.7

PerfectSuper flexible!.Version: 4.0

Flacbox and Flac playerVery good music player with equalizer..Version: 3.8

Great app but lack of ape supportNeed ape support!!!.Version: 1.8

FlacBoxThis app is great for iPhone users if they have a laptop/PC and lots of music to transfer using the WI-FI transfer option as so far it’s been flawless. The equaliser can accommodate many custom settings that are quick to access for different headphones and/or genre’s of music. There is plenty of settings and options in general that make this app shine brighter than anything else I have tried over the years for iPhone and I couldn’t be happier finding it. One thing that I would like though to make it perfect for me is to be able to have a loudness level setting to level out all songs to a similar ( preferably same ) volume to save having to raise and lover the volume. This is an issue because of the loudness wars plus different sources of master volume settings across all music and not the fault of FlacBox, it would just be great to have a way of getting around this issue that drives many people crazy. I purchased this app because I want to support the developers and would be happy to purchase more extra features that would take this app to the far and beyond. Thank you FLacBox Creators ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.Version: 4.0

Great option for a NAS.I use this to stream over WebDAV to a Synology NAS and it is a better experience than the official Synology music app. Generally speaking, I find that it works very well. It also has Car Play support, which is a huge bonus; I don’t know of a better way to get good Car Play support while streaming music over your own systems. I do have a hard time getting things to sync properly, sometimes, though, and I sometimes run into issues that are stubborn and hard to fix. Updates are a mixed bag, but generally do improve the app. Unfortunately, the 3.9 update entirely wiped out my library and all metadata, which means I will probably be fidgeting with sync metadata a lot today. I can’t complain too much, but perfect this app is not..Version: 3.9

NiceBeen using this for a while now connected into the cars Bluetooth system. Sound Quality is very good & I can easily upload my own tracks from my drive which it allows you to connect also, 10/10 great work 😁 tried loads off apps but stuck with this one. In future maybe I’d like more sound options like a surround and 3D sound feature or things like reverb then this will be the top app.Version: 4.0

I just hope it stays this wayForever looking, searching, wishing for an app to let me use an adjustable equalizer while I listen to my music and now I FINALLY FOUND ONE. Also a lot of my music are just mp3 files from my computer so I also appreciate being able to import them to the app cause idk what Dropbox and all that is. But with all of that being said and what my title says, I hope the app stays exactly the way it is right now with no big changes (which I’m unfortunately assuming will happen because finally finding the very app I’ve been endlessly searching for might just be way too good to be true)..Version: 4.0

Best music playerAs a Linux user this is really the only way to use my music collection with my iPhone. I set up SMB and pull songs down and build the playlists in Flacbox. Been doing that for years but it was recently broke. In a world of monthly fees just to listen to music with a ton of overly feature packed garbage players, also asking for monthly fees and your email address, so you can listen offline without draining your cell plans usage or simply grabbing music from the Apple player that works the same way this was awesome. The only issue? Lately when I add songs via SMB, even after waiting for them to download, some are missing and no amount of attempts to get them downloaded works. Fix that and I’ll give it five stars. The http process works fine but it’s tedious. I really hope this player sticks around or I’ll have write my own and use TestFlight, because I hate customers and don’t want to pay dev fees and own other Apple garbage products to produce one piece of software..Version: 4.2

Works so farI wanted to play FLAC files from cloud storage and chrome cast them. Now I can. Thanks!.Version: 3.5

Everythings perfect exceptThere is one feature I really want. It would make the phone more like an old mp3 player I miss those….. a home screen widget that allows full control and full ui of app(basically the app open on your homescreen) you could have apps on one screen and a “mp3 player” on the other. That would make it the perfect go to player for me. The interface is the best of the one’s I’ve tried, the option of splitting what to pay for(this, that, or all) was great, and it doesn’t have issues. I just miss the old mp3 players though and that would be nice to have. Thank you.Version: 4.2

Never okWhen I'm driving and after talking on the phone I have to play manually to re start any playlist, it was OK in the beginning but after few updates things went worse. Not recommended..Version: 3.4

ExcellentIt does what it says it does , and is excellent at being a music player , thanks for the app!.Version: 3.2

Lifesaver, so to speak.Poweramp unfortunately doesn’t exist in App Store, but only on the Play Store. Bunch of a work-in-progress like annoying apps were everywhere on App Store until I found this app. If someone can please tell me, is there a better app or even similar app that can play a flac file on Airplay without serious delay, irregularly changed pitch like VLC and even unorganized file system?.Version: 4.4

Great app for music buyers, least data collectionI like this app because I can load my purchased, non-DRM music to my iPhone. They collect minimal data from the app, seems to be data associated with crash reports/how the app is working. I also like the one-time purchase for IAP. My only gripe that I believe is valid is the UI/UX. Took me about 20 minutes to figure it out (as a tech intermediate user), my wife still doesn’t get it. Hopefully they will find a way to redo it for tech novices to understand..Version: 4.0

Excellent MP3 player appAs a new user to iOS I was becoming very frustrated with Apple’s weak Music app and it’s need to be tethered to iTunes on your desktop if you hope to play your MP3s. I turned to the App Store for another app capable of playing mp3 files and became even more frustrated with the slew of apps that prioritize spamming ads more than anything else. Just as I about gave up I found Flacbox and it’s literally everything I ever wanted the native Music app to be. I can easily download an mp3 from a site and play it in Flacbox or access my library from my Dropbox. If I could give the Flacbox devs a tip and a big smooch I would. 5/5 bless you Flacbox..Version: 2.0

Versatile FlacboxHave been using Flacbox for about 2 months and it seems stable for my requirements that includes Hi Res. Sound quality is good on ALAC and FLAC files. I also use the Onkyo Hi Fi player and Qobuz for streaming and purchasing music. Flacbox has very useful features including easily importing files from cloud storage and a graphic equaliser that works on the digital source to my Chord Mojo; Flacbox is the only App that can do this. I like to slightly adjust the sound frequencies to suit my tastes and hearing. Ive compared sound quality with the Onkyo and I think there is slight clipping of high frequency clarity with Flacbox (equaliser off) but the ability to adjust the bass on Flacbox is brilliant..Version: 2.7

Flacbox: My Nominee For Killer App 2020Easily adding all my FLAC, pulling cover art, creating a playlist and downloading to my iPhone. Diverse connection options - fast SMB to my NAS music library plus all clouds. Been so long... many years. I’m finally just enjoying listening while making a mix. I can go back and forth without losing my file path and the music just keeps playing. Perfection. Thank you for making a music app that has a logical visual interface which manages to get out of the way of the music. “For Those About To Rock, I Salute You”.Version: 3.2

(Update) Fixed! No airplaying flag files to Apple TVAt last airplay issue is fixed! Now I can give you 5 stars. Thanks for solving the issue. I have 800 GB music in Google drive in flac format. I airplay music from my iPhone to my home theater through Apple TV. I've been enjoying this app like this for a week and I liked its sound quality with equalizer. But after this update, airplay doesn't work anymore. It shows the airplay icon and when I choose Apple TV, it keeps trying to load the music forever (circular arrow keeps turning). When I turn off airplay, I can hear the music from my iPhone. Now I'm back to my other favorite app, "Cloudbeats", which is much more stable and UI is better. Flacbox is better in sound quality with equalizer and the automatic artwork download is great. But if it cannot airplay, it's useless to me..Version: 1.8

Great app but...Everything works great The equalizer, playlists and connecting to a pc is well ingegrated and implemented into this. The only problem with the app is the LACK of crossfade. This combined with the constant begging for a subscription is what turns me off from this, also why do I need an email adress to send feedback? Why is is not optional. Great features and feel but compared to other options there just a huge lack of a feature I use heavily and the subscription model for an offline music player is downright stupid, but if you want a music player and can deal with the free plan your gonna have a good time with the awesome network sharing and audio..Version: 4.0

New userI couldn’t seem to find a free app that also played FLAC file formats for iPhone or iOS, luckily I found Flacbox! This app is awesome it plays nearly every music file format I’ve seen that is commonly used including lossless which was my main concern. You can load the music right onto the app through iTunes and it even found several of the music files associated album art and it shows up when playing the file, Great App!!!.Version: 3.2

UI Could be BetterThe app will randomly jump to a seemingly random spot in a song when ending one song and starting the next. I put my entire library of songs on random, which should have given me tens of hours of continuous music, and only got two to three hours of music before it stopped. These are small things but it’s the small things you have to get right in order to be number one. Note: I wrote this review just after the app stopped playing my entire library after only a few hours. I was not impressed..Version: 4.4

Playlist m3uGreat App however the app does not recognize already created playlist, not even in the same folder with the audio files. I have created playlist for all my files and wish the App could recognize them instead of having to create over hundreds of playlists over again.Version: 4.2

Almost niceLove this app when first trying it but now I realize it will not sync with my OneDrive music.Version: 3.7

Perfect for Linux UsersSimply spin up a samba server, and you can browse/download/stream your music. All of this directly from your phone, without needing to tinker with ifuse libmobiledevice etc. The interface is very polished - browse by genre, artist, song etc. And supporting flac to boot?! Thank you so much for writing this fantastic software, it is a staple on every iOS device I own..Version: 2.0

Great but something is missingThis app is the best offline music player. I really love it. Great design, a good experience, even the free version it’s enough for anybody. It’s a 5/5, the developers are doing a good job, but I miss the option of see lyrics in the app, idk, some songs have incrusted lyrics or lrc files that I would like to see while I’m listening my music, it’s a great way of learning new languages, etc. Whatever, if you’re looking for an offline music player, stop, you’re in the right place..Version: 5.0
