GoodEar Pro - Ear Training for Positive User Reviews

Great appLoving the app so far, I just wish there was an option to remove the 5th of the chord when playing chords with an 11th and/or 13th extensions (specially when it's b13). A real piano player would remove the 5th (specially to avoid the b9 interval between 5th and b13th). Also it would be nice if you could add susb9 chords and dominant chord with both the 9th and 13th. Also if you could fix the range of the upper extensions so they aren't super high (like above C6 high). I think non root chord tones should be in the range of D3 to maybe E5 (max). I'm really loving the app though and these changes would make it great for me to use to train my upper structure ear, which is why I got the app..Version: 1.3

Great!!!This is exactly what I was searching for. It knows many many chords and scales. This is great for pop, or jazz musicians. I also like the "melody function". I really recommend it!!.Version: 1.2

ExcellentI wish this technology and an app like this existed when I was is college.I might have passed ear training. Best ear training app I’ve tried.love how you can customize it to work on your weaknesses. Thanks and I recommend it to my students and fellow musicians.Version: 1.6.4

Phenomenal.Very powerful ear training app..Version: 1.5

PerfectMost complete ear training app ever until now !! I couldn't believe no one rated this app yet! Amazing app!.Version: 1.5

Fantastic, amazing value!Needed something to help develop my Aural skills for my Music A Level. This is a simple to use app that's really good value for all it contains. You can choose which intervals/chords it tests you on, meaning you can keep hearing the ones you find hard until you get the hang of it. It also shows the answers on the keyboard, which helps you get a visual idea of what the interval 'looks' . I like the ability to be able to play a chord in the background for context also. It's more realistic in terms of identifying an interval within a piece of music. All in all, this app has been invaluable and is well worth the small cost for any music student :).Version: 1.3

Excellent productI've only had it for a day but it is very easy to use, quite well designed and covers all the major areas of ear training including melodies..Version: 1.6.4

Great purchaseVery easy to use, very effective. It's helped me a lot..Version: 1.6.2

Great app!Having Chord Progressions in all keys would be awesome..Version: 1.3

Simple and effectiveThis app is nice and simple, no learning curve, straight and too the point. Some suggestions: 1) I would love to see chord progressions. 2) To be able hear intervals/scales/melodies in different timbres would be valuable. Like trumpet. 3) be nice if the tempo slider had a value shown so i could keep track of progress/speed. 4) I would like to shorten the time it takes between questions, maybe this could be a setting? 5) identification of tone against a chord. You play a random chord, then play a random note and you answer that the note is the 3rd, 4th #9 etc..Version: 1.3

Ear trainingBon petit outils pour se former l'oreille. Les exercices proposes sont intéressants, l'interface est simple. Petit bémol : le paramétrage est assez réduit..Version: 1.5

Best ear training app.I usually don't write reviews but this app is so good that I had to make an exception. I am a professional musician and I believe that ear training is a muscle that you need to keep stretching just like practicing your instrument. I have been looking for an ear training app for a while and couldn't find one that I like until I found this one. You can figure out your weaknesses and customize the excise to your needs. I really feel an improvement after doing it for 10 minutes a day for two weeks. Highly recommended!.Version: 1.5

Great app for learning to hear chords and intervalsHighly recommended. I started using this in button mode and gradually shifted to keyboard mode as my ears improved. I love being able to specify what intervals or chords I’m working on. Some minor items for my wish list: 1. Improve statistics by showing me percentages for specific chords /intervals so I get a sense of where I’m doing well and where I’m doing poorly. 2. Add a progressive difficulty option that tracks where I’m struggling and shifts the focus to those chords/intervals. 3z. Add an option to play the chord after playing the arpeggio..Version: 1.6.4

Excellent tool for any musicianThis is a great way to keep your ear in shape..Version: 1.6.4

Great for developing your earThis is an excellent app well constructed and easy to use. Regular use will certainly develop your aural skills.Version: 1.6.4

Merveilleux !Excellent outil pour développer son oreille qu’importe l’endroit où l’on est !.Version: 1.6.4

Easy-to Use Aural appEasy-to-use app for sharpening aural skills..Version: 1.6.4

Increidible!I'm a beginner jazz musician and these three apps are ridiculously amazing to train your ears..Version: 1.6.4

Excellent appGreat app! I'm studying Jazz piano and I'm using goodEar now everyday. What I like most is the ability, to give the answer by piano AND multiple choice. This makes a big difference, because both methods train different musical skills. Another great thing is that it knows many scales and chords, that other ear training apps don't know…..Version: 1.2

Great trainerVery interactive with keyboard. The chords are hard to play though. Please make the keys a little bigger. Thanks for a great addition to ear training..Version: 1.1

Seriously a Must Have!If you are a musician..... get this app! I've been searching for an app that: engaged me enough to keep my attention, is user friendly and has a smooth interface, has all the scales and chords and intervals this brain can handle... I think😏.... This app has everything except..... backing tracks.... maybe one day.....Version: 1.6.4

One major annoyanceA great app - but would like to have the option to switch off auto-continue and listen again to where mistakes have been made..Version: 1.5

Great ear training appBest ear training app I've found - great interface for melody and interval play back and excellent selection of chords. Please add 13b9, 13#9 and 7#11#9 chords in the next update (maybe 13#11, 13#11#9 and 13#11b9 as well) - then this app would be perfect!.Version: 1.3

Fun and educationalGreat for all musicians for ear training. I highly recommend it..Version: 1.6.4

Great, but.Fantastic tool, but it misnames a major fourteenth a major thirteenth which is an annoying fault..Version: 1.2

NiceEasy to use, you can practice your ear anytime you want in a very good way.Version: 1.6.4

EXCELLENTI am a music teacher and I must say this is an excellent app for students in ear training cases. Even for teachers to keep up with their skills. Can you please add chord progressions and longer melodic examples?!?!?! Excellent app.Version: 1.3

Thumbs up!The great thing about this app is, that I really can create my own exercises. It's very customizable. Right now I'm learning to hear the difference between several dominant chords. I can do that with this app..Version: 1.2

Best of classBest of a crowded field I use his calypso pro. It's an improvement on iGigBook.Version: 1.5

Awesome appWould love more elaborate statistical breakdowns especially scores measured over time..Version: 1.6.4

Good appGood stuff! anyway to get a guitar fret board to input notes also?.Version: 1.6.4

Love itThe best ear training app I've seen. Well done guys!.Version: 1.2

Good practice toolThis app is fantastic, I use it as part of daily practice and highly recommend it. Two things I would add would be to hear the chord underneath a melody separate to the melody (a button for "chord" on the screen would be perfect) and the ability to stay on a melody beyond completion - when I struggle with a melody I often want to replay the various notes to try and figure out why. An option to move on to a new melody manually rather than automatically would be all that was needed. Add those two things and this app would be a complete aural practice tool..Version: 1.3

AmazingI've been struggling to train my ears in & this app has developed my skills massively. Can't recommend enough.Version: 1.6.2

As good as I’ve foundI haven’t found a better ear training app ever.Version: 1.6.4

Great app with incredible potentialI'm giving this app 5 stars because all I really need is help with advanced jazz chord recognition, in this does this perfectly. Plus the app has great potential and deserves support. However, I do have some suggestions as to how to make this app even more powerful. Developers need to: - in "intervals" add the option of compound intervals, larger than an octave - in "scales" add modes from the melodic minor scale - in "scales" add the option to make fully customizable scales, probably by specifying a sequence of intervals eg the altered scale would be "b2,2,b2,2,2,2,2".Version: 1.5

Invaluable toolGreat tool for anyone trying to improve their ear..Version: 1.6.4
