I’ve made sure my phone had the latest update and I deleted the app and redownload it several times but it still won’t let me log back in. ✓ What?The take a name app doesn't work well for me. When I search up male baptisms and confirmations I get females and many males that their work has already been done. Also, it comes up with a random number of names, sometimes more and sometimes less names. ✓ I guess it’s deadBeen using the app for a few years and today it decided that my session expired and no longer connect. My wife had the same issue. I figured an update happened. But it looks like there hasn’t been an update in 5 years. It’s too bad really, it was a very useful tool and helped find available names with ease. Now it’s time to go back to a limited search. ✓ Great tool but not real family historyGenealogy is NOT Family History. This just picks the low hanging fruit from your family tree. That’s great! Use it when you got to the Temple and haven’t found any names from your own research. ✓ App is great until it wants you to payI loved this app at first. It let me print off numerous names. All of a sudden it asked me to pay and when I didn’t, it all of a sudden won’t work. Keeps telling me something went wrong and to try again later. I have been trying to use the app for over two weeks and it says the same thing. ✓ Constantly crashesEvery time we try to print a name on any of our 4 up to date iOS devices, the app crashes. Also, the form fields don’t work when we try to submit a help request. ✓ A nightmare for genealogistsTake-a-Name allows users to print names for the temple that aren’t researched, aren’t sourced and haven’t been properly prepared for temple work. It has resulted in duplicate work being done. The better choice (if you’re not able to do the genealogy work yourself) is to use “Ordinances Ready” through FamilySearch. Ordinances Ready uses names that have been researched, sourced, prepared and shared with the temple system. Duplicates are still possible but far less likely than using the Take-a-Name app..SDfranzVersion: 1.0.12

✓ AccuracyI have used this app to find and take family names to the temple, but I have been a bit concerned as I have dug deeper into family history that some of the names being generated for ordinances have no record of a death date, meaning there is no way to know if they died in infancy, which would mean temple ordinances are not necessarily needed, for some of the names this app is coming up with. I am just wondering how the names are found generated. It seems that reliance on this app is making people think they are doing needed temple work for ancestors that really don’t need it. How sure are you that these ordinances are really needed? Is this app generating unnecessary ordinances?.BsclittVersion: 1.0.12

✓ Love But...I truly love the concept of this app. I used it for the first time and was super excited that I could reserve a name, make the card a pdf, and get it printed at the temple in a couple of minutes. It made temple work feel so easy. BUT, it only works if you are sure all information is correct on your family search tree. I realized this when I told my friend about this app; she got her name printed only to realize that there was a possibility of a duplicate on her family search. Fearfully, I looked back at my family tree and noticed that the name I was provided by the app was actually one that had an unresolved issue. She had 3 different sets of parents written on her bio. So I don’t even know if I did the correct ordinance for her. I HIGHLY advice anyone using this app to verify on their family search before reserving and printing the name..SeasalticecreamVersion: 1.0.11
