✓ Horse Trail RidesThat’s what I use it for mostly. It is simple to use once you work it out and the Developer was quick to respond when I had a query. That it works when there’s no ph service is important to me; once back in service, all the Maps show but importantly when not in service, you will always be taken to your Target even tho no map shows - the ‘rubber band’ guide draws you towards your Target. You can download maps if u rarely have service and want to see terrain but I haven’t really had the need. Good info of distance, speed, ave speed, times, coordinates and alt. Excellent excellent App. Excellent storage for previous trips. All in all, very nice App for any traveling and only a one off cost of few dollars..Version: 1.9.5
✓ Love the App!!I use this app when ride off the beaten trail on my KLR 650 and it make tracking my trail and ride a breeze. I can review rides and take new paths. I also plan to use the app while driving truck to track route, time and speed. All helping make me a more efficient driver and a more adventures rider. ✓ Used by Country Fire Service volunteersOur CFS brigade volunteers use this app on their iPhones since it lets us work in UTM for both display of our location as well as the entry of coordinates for waypoints to navigate to. ✓ Overall Great AppEverything works well and as advertised (I purchased the pro pack). The only frustrating thing is there is no way to have the app not default to your location. If you go to another app and return to this one, rather than be in the location you were looking at before, it takes you to where you are currently located. ✓ Find that spot in wide open spacesI needed to mark a spot in the Coastal marsh so I could return to it on an ongoing basis. There’s hardly any reference points around that I could truly rely on for dead reckoning. This app seems to be what I’ve been looking for. Not a bad learning curve. The only complaint I have is that when trying to view routes to waypoint the map is locked to your location; this prevents you from searching for the best route. ✓ Working GreatI have used it a few times driving some bike routes and in my Xmr out in the middle of no where (central Florida). ✓ MARINE NAVIGATIONI don’t often write reviews but I have been so impressed with the quality of this app and the level of support that I felt compelled to do so. I have been using Compass 55 for a few months and it is one of four apps I downloaded to try out. It was immediately far better than the other three, being more versatile and user friendly so I upgraded to the Pro version. I operate a small marine business with boats that ply poorly charted waters with a lot of shallow ground and other marine hazards. Our smaller boats do not have chart plotters so by using Compass 55 we have been able to plot routes and leave tracks which can be shared with other crew for use on their smart phones, greatly increasing their confidence in navigation, particularly after dark. The app also allows easy analysis of speed over sections of the track using different colours for speed ranges in certain maps and the ability to use the detail of Google Maps is a bonus. This past week, I had an issue where some tracks were not visible and I was hugely impressed with the speed and attention given by support to address the problem, the bug was resolved within hours. I cannot recommend Compass 55 highly enough for the quality, versatility and level of support..Version: 2.1.3

✓ A great, simple inexpensive GPS!This is a wonderful GPS for those of us who fly aircraft without electrical systems. I put my iPhone on the dashboard and Compass 55 points the direction to my destination, gives my ground speed, altitude, vertical speed and other important information. Was even more impressed by the unobtrusive star in the upper right window corner that will connect to the developer. Stan WANTS to help by directly responding to each inquiry. He makes it clear what the $4 upgrade offers: Pro pack enables following functions: Google map for the main screen. Blank map to avoid data/internet usage. GPS track recording, sharing, pinning to a map and retracing. Adding own/custom map servers. Downloading maps for offline usage. Multiple waypoint folders/collections and moving waypoints between them. Showing ETA for the target navigation. I have not yet upgraded and to date have not seen one advertisement after launching three times. I sorted and read through the MOST critical reviews before downloading this app and saw where Stan responded to each. It's not often that the most critical reviews give a developer 4-5 stars.
