✓ Pops and clicks on iPad ProBut okay on iPad Air 2. Basically unplayable on Pro..Version: 1.3.2

✓ Very cool but not quite GarageBand readyI love the sound. The presets get me excited about playing. If it worked smoothly with GarageBand on my iPad, or if it was free, I’d give it five stars. Unfortunately from time to time LayR fails in GarageBand. Usually it recovers. Once in a while it leaves my song damaged afterwards..Version: 1.43
✓ Good concept but...My biggest frustration is that the MIDI assignment dialogue will pop up when I’m trying to fine tune a parameter. It make this app hard to work with..Version: 1.2.1

✓ Amazing but flawedThis sounds amazing with so much potential for shaping and creating sounds......but much like the Factory synth, it is hobbled by audio stutters and bugs when using as an audio extension; out of nowhere the app (whilst used in a DAW) will crash, or stutter, or even cause the whole track to malfunction in a non pleasing way. Used as inter-app audio the app won’t even load up and crashes immediately. I’m by no means a pro, but I need things to work consistently better than this and I don’t believe it’s much to ask for when paying the best part of £25 for an app. Has to be a refund I’m afraid which is a real shame, maybe I’ll revisit this at a later date. Please sort out the software issues. Please!!.Version: 1.43

✓ CracklingIt started to have a crackling noise after while and I just bought it.and it makes my other synth apps crackle.hope they fix this issue.Version: 1.3.2
✓ Needs a lot of workIt took me several minutes to end the arp that looped endlessly while eating more than half of my iPhone XS Max resources with all the crackling in the background from 1 midi out and one channel! After trying to fix the crackle by reducing resources, I could not simply stop the playback! The user interface has no flow or gravity... So far I've noticed there is no global toolbar... If there is one... There is nothing that suggests there is one... I love opening apps like this that are "powerful" with "features" and "5 star reviews" to find myself doing anything I can at whatever cost to stop the playback and get out of the app! In short, terrible app because you failed to keep the user engaged and more importantly, lost the possibility of fixing the issue because this is beyond issue... Someone spent too much time on eye-candy and much less time on UX flow. One other thing. Whoever is handling the code should revisit "for loop" and "loop" statements. They also should learn how to think like an engineer and study how to write good strong code and paradigms because this app has so much potential yet so poorly written. Sorry, honest reviews help make us all better..Version: 1.3.1

✓ Rich, mesmerizing sounds butI have 75% of the paid synths on the App Store and I can say without doubt that Layr has the richest, most beautiful sounds. The pads are lush, the keys and leads are sharp yet warm. There’s something cinematic and magnetic about the experience, however... The experience is stunted by how power hungry this instrument can be. I am using an iPad Pro (2018 version), which is second most powerful iPad available today from a specs aspect. I can only host one instance of this app in Cubasis, and even the one instance takes up a whopping 50% power, with no effects or other tracks. In short, it’s not a playable instrument. It’s a feat of technology and beauty, but what’s the point of it all if it can’t be used to create? I want to support the developers and future updates and sound patches, but first thing first: the app needs to be playable..Version: 1.43

✓ Major problems on 2018 12.9” iPad ProThis app works great on my old iPad Air 2, but on my new iPad Pro it is unusable. There are random pops, and I am unable to exit the app by swiping up from the bottom to get to the Home screen (no Home button). The only way I can exit is by swiping down from the top, then swiping right on the lock screen and tapping on another app, then exiting out of that one. This is an AMAZING synth that is desperately in need of an update to fix these issues..Version: 1.3
