✓ Just buy it, great bluetooth keyboard supportThe most annoying thing about all of the terminal apps is they do a really poor job of mapping shift-arrow, alt-arrow, etc to the equivalents on the console, most just don’t support it at all so you end up trying to remember arcane CTRL meta combinations to, for example, switch panes in a tmux session. This one “just works” and it makes the bluetooth keyboard operate very much like you’re on a local USB 102 key keyboard. I often keep large tmux sessions running on my development machine and this is the most “transparent” feeling app. The others clutter the screen real estate with “helpers” you have to press. I wish I’d found Blink earlier, I’d wasted a fair amount of money on the other terminal programs, all with annoying issues. Blink is pretty seamless, I only need to take my hands off the keyboard to close the app..Version: 12.5
✓ Developer grade remote shellFor context, I write software for a living. I spend a lot of time in a shell. My workflow involves Tmux, Vim, Bash, etc. To may my experience a little nicer, I use some nice fonts that support things like powerline, git info in my bash prompts, etc. Blink alone allows me to use my iPad as my daily get-stuff-done computer. I don't carry a laptop anymore. Blink handles my entire config style. It was the first iOS shell that handled my CLI config and displayed it without issues. But it goes so much further. When using Mosh, your connections are virtually indestructible. I can connect, do some coding, disconnect for the weekend, come back, fire up the app, and it's like I never left. Absolutely amazing for an iOS shell. It also handles port forwarding! If I want to connect to a remote debugger from my browser, for example, I can. No problem. There's really nothing I need to do that I can't with Blink. Amazing work everyone involved!.Version: 12.3

✓ You Get What You Pay ForI use Blink Shell on my 12.9" iPad Pro, usually with an external keyboard, and it's amazing. As a non-professional, my main use case is messing around on a headless Raspberry Pi, and I previously used Termius for this. I initially hesitated on this app because of the price tag, but now that I bought it I couldn't be happier. Mosh performs so much better than normal SSH. I've opened Blink after almost a week without touching it to find that Mosh has maintained my session, and it has never dropped a connection on me after a month of use. I love that Blink drops you straight into the terminal. Even though I'm not a professional I can tell that this app was designed by people who use it every day, and who put a lot of thought into how the app should work. It feels like a professional-grade tool, and as such the price is fantastic (especially because you're only paying once). Plus, since my Smart Keyboard doesn't have an escape key, I just remapped CapsLock to escape in Blink's settings. Amazing. Overall, I can't recommend Blink enough. Whether you're a pro using it for your job or just a shmuck like me messing around on home servers, it's the best tool for the job and you'll be glad you didn't cheap out..Version: 13.0

✓ The app that makes the iPad Relevant for some.Blink is kind of incredible. It did everything I wanted an ssh client to do, but it also did a few things I didn’t even ask for, but ended up being really useful. This is as close as we’ll get to having emacs on an iPad, for one. I don’t know what to say. I’ve used other ssh clients for the iPad, but now that Blink has arrived, I’m not interested in the others. If you haven’t set up Mosh, do yourself a favour and set it up. ✓ Excellent AppI have been using Blink for nearly a year now on my iPad Pro. and must say it has work flawlessly for me both ssh and particularly mosh. I use Blink to manage my EC2 instance and all of my Raspberry PIs which runs in headless mode. I noticed today (12/02/2022) a 14 sash across the app’s icon and that it’s marked as Legacy pointing users to the new Blink shell. ✓ Almost perfect!This truly is the missing app if you’re a software developer wanting to have an iPad as a backup device. There are 2 small things missing for me: * cmd+k to clear the history. I didn’t realize how much I use this command until I couldn’t use it. * option+delete and option+arrows. Super handy for quickly jumping between words or quickly deleting words. I’ve also been having trouble setting up my caps lock on my magic keyboard to trigger escape. Might just be a me problem though..Version: 13.3

✓ Straight to the point SSH/MoshI was hesitant to buy this app, then I found out that it was open source. I went to the GitHub repo, building instructions were very clear and straightforward and it took less than 10 minutes to build and install on my iPad Pro. ✓ Great app but where’s the docs?Love the app but, hate the fact that there’s absolutely no documentation. Figuring some things out feels like Easter egg hunting. Once you figure it all out and you get mosh running, it’s great. Once in a while I accidentally open a second tab and have no idea how I did it, nor can I type anywhere. ✓ Great connection stability, nice designThe most important thing is that this app doesn’t drop your connections or nag you about keeping them open when you background it. I don’t know how, but it keeps them open. Secondly, it has really nice design. Extremely minimal and streamlined, you can find features when you need them, but it does what it should and gets out of your way so you can work. The key mappings are also a great feature when using the Apple iPad keyboard. I am retracting my earlier criticisms because I think it might have been a pebcak issue. It is possible to set up hosts so that when you think you’re asking to connect to an IP it can get mapped to one of the hosts you’ve set up. So great app, sorry for the earlier criticism. It’s still a bit flakey after your session crashes (that tab breaks) but I can live with that. This app is worth five stars because it means I can actually use my iPad..Version: 12.8

✓ Excellent product, support, and communityI’m a SSH newbie, learning how to create instances within the cloud, so I was both very interested in the Blink application for many reasons: being able to SSH into my instances using only my iPad (giving some definite freedom there!), and because of all the rave reviews that are out there. I had to learn quite a lot about public and private keys and moving them around for access, but I was able to successfully thanks to both Carlos Cabanero, who was exceedingly helpful and friendly, as well as a few community members who answered my question right away. Frankly, I was surprised to get such helpful answers, I felt embarrassed about asking things that I felt sure marked me as Newbie from a mile away :) But, anyways, now I’m able to SSH into my AWS EC2 instances and I couldn’t be happier...Version: 11.26

✓ Does not support IOS internal keyboard.Using the on screen keyboard tying a / requires three keystrokes. Guys do you really use ~ or the back tick (lower case same key) more than the slash. I rather doubt it. B o o. On youse. 3rd party keyboards are NOT the answer. An option to add a key or replace the ~ or its buddy makes much more sense. Rather than get carried away with toys, colors etc why not make this thing useful for those of us who who it as professional admins/programmers. And there does not seem to be a way to ask questions. ✓ Hands down one of the best terminal emulators for the iPadFirst, of all, mosh. If you don’t have mosh get mosh. Fully, whole heartedly, changed my whole development experience. This terminal has great support for it. Some commands compiled have issues with their standard flags but whatever I guess. I can work around it a little bit. But overall, this app is the most iOS compliant terminal emulator I have seen around. Good freaking job devs. Honestly. However, please respond for the non-standard command flags. ✓ Excellent terminal but frequent behavior changesBlink is awesome and pretty much part of my daily routine. That said, the behavior changes pretty frequently and it’s not always better. The latest release (13.4) for example changes the way scrolling works. Is it cool that people can use a trackpad? Yes. Do I have one? No. So when the changes to support that feature change how terminal scrollback functions (something I use *all the time*), it’s troubling. Where I used to be able to go back in the buffer by pulling down the screen, now I just get the equivalent of an up-arrow at the command prompt or a mouse scroll in vim. I even commented on this in the TestFlight builds. The release comment suggests we move to tmux/screen to get scrolling. While that’s a great suggestion, it really shouldn’t be necessary to maintain the behavior from before the change. And really, even when I do use tmux, I don’t have mouse mode enabled so I get to change my flow (again) to manage scrollback and copy/paste. So, at the end of the day, Blink is very cool. It’s pretty much the best terminal app available for the iPad. Having mosh is also very cool. On the other hand, if I’m using Blink and mosh, I should not be forced to use tmux. I guess it’s back to plain old ssh for now; scrolling seems to work there. Well, at least until that changes..Version: 13.4

✓ Fantastically functionalBlink is the terminal for people who Know What They're Doing. It possesses many useful features around the keyboard/screen/multiple terminals, but lacks other features. These include the limited methods of transferring a private key to your device (no way to use iTunes to copy a file into the app), and the lack of secure iCloud (keychain?) sync of private keys. It really must become easier to transfer SSH keys than copy and paste! Additionally on the iPad w/ keyboard I noticed a little bug with a few lines of black bars where the keyboard extension bar would go and the ability to scroll the terminal a little up and down..Version: 5.028

✓ Great open source terminal with Mosh supportUnlike other SSH clients on the AppStore, this one is much more suitable for on the Go usage, since it has support for Mosh and therefore able to resume interrupted sessions, even if you're connected on a different network than the one you started the session on. Mosh also helps a lot with smooth typing on unreliable networks. The app itself offers multi session support as well as pinch to zoom, an extended keyboard, themes etc. The app is also open source on GitHub, so you can technically compile it yourself, however if you'd like to show your support for open source software, buy it, it's worth the price. The only thing I wish the devs would change is display the 'help' automatically upon first launch, but that's a minor annoyance for what is otherwise a great app..Version: 2.0

✓ Very good terminal emulationVery good, very fast terminal emulation. Intuitive setup for folk familiar with cli. Very easy to import keys and configure hosts. Support for multiple color themes similar to those found in common desktop terminal emulators. mosh support is really nice. It is a little pricey but I definitely prefer this to some free or cheaper alternatives. I had been using Cathode for a while and look forward to this replacing that as my daily driver for terminal needs. My one very minor gripe is that when using the apple magic keyboard and swapping caps lock for control they caps lock led still lights up. If any of the devs see this and can fix that that would be pretty neat. It isn’t a real big deal and the swap functions as intended but looking down occasionally and seeing the green light turn on and off is a little annoying..Version: 12.8

Minimalist with everything controllable from the keyboard. iPad mannerisms that infest other shells aren’t found here. This feels like exactly a terminal from the moment you launch. Colour themes are well chosen including the excellent coding friendly Solarized. VIM has never looked so good. ✓ THIS IS THE SSH APP YOU KEEP LOOKING FORStraight up. Without getting into minor nitpicks, this is hands down the best and only SSH app you need. I’ve spent a lot of money and time on various free and paid ash terminals, but at the end of the day, NONE OF THEM WOULD USE THE FULL SCREEN REAL ESTATE. Blink uses your full screen, no menus taking up space, no status bars proving pointless info. It pretty much gets rid of the GUI (as it should be when using a Terminal) I feel like these developers are the only ones to understand the elegance and minimalism of terminals and brought the essence to mobile devices. All the other SSH apps are a waste of your time. This is the one you keep looking for at the end of another brutal mobile SSH experience. Yes I know you think it seems expensive as its not free. But it’s well worth the price. I will now actually use SSH on my phone but before this app I wrote it off as a gimmick and would just pull out my laptop and tether cellular data. This is the only SSH app I can actually use in lieu of my Linux or Mac machines. I don’t just use Terminals as a worst resort either. I truly live in them using things like byobu, Vim, MC, and a never ending list of terminal based apps. I hate GUIs with a passion. And I hate other wasted screen real estate even more. ✓ Overall satisfiedI was a bit hesitant to buy this at first with the $20 price tag, but I’ll say now I don’t regret it one bit. I’m a Software Engineer by day, however I use a work computer and didn’t have any dire need for a setup like this. I merely wanted to experiment with programming on an iPad for some side projects. After a couple days with Blink I am blown away by how fun Coding is on the iPad. The multitasking nature of the device coupled with Blink/Mosh makes for a great environment to get work done in. Anyone that’s on the fence about this I would say go for it! For the record, I only briefly tried one free alternative out there but I really preferred the interface and customizability of Blink which was ultimately why I made the purchase. ✓ Finally!I’ve been looking for an App purely for remote development over ssh. This requires good support with Magic Keyboard. After trying almost all of them, this one is IT! ✓ Great appI am really happy with the money I paid. My job requires me to work on centos terminal and rn with this app and the smart keyboard that I got, Working on a bus feels no different than working behind my desk in my office. Great response time and full screen terminal feels and works great. However, the key alternatives (which allows you reconfigure some of the keys) are not working for me. CapsLock is still doing its annoying job, changing the language. But over all I am happy with this app and I can’t wait for future updates..Version: 13.0
✓ Great but lacking some critical featuresThis is an amazing client that unfortunately lacks some important features for my use case, namely port forwarding and agent forwarding. ✓ Amazing terminal emulatorFlat down the best terminal emulator on iOS, and one of the best ever anywhere else. Mosh, key mapping, console commands, full mouse support. Once you are in the app, your hands don’t need to leave the keyboard. Don’t waste time and money with any others, Blink is full of features and a joy to use. The team is very quick to act, and keep updating the app. For example, with the addition of mouse support in iPadOS 13.4, text selection stopped working. A few days later, they published an update that fixed it. This sounds like a sales pitch, but I am in no way related to the developers, I just think this app is fenomenal. I would gladly pay more for extra features, if that helps the team keeping it up to date..Version: 13.4
✓ Fantastic app for mosh/sshThis is one of the best apps I've used for ssh in iOS. With mosh built-in, plus tmux on the remote side, I have never lost a session. There are a few irregularities with colors, but other than that it's flawless, and the other built-in commands are very helpful. Key remapping couldn't be easier, so turning caps lock into escape is a simple configuration option. Thanks for making such a great app. It's an indispensable part of my workflow and has allowed me to move to an ipad pro as my primary workstation..Version: 12.1
✓ Impressive and Fully FeaturedIm been in IT for 35 years and used all sorts off SSH clients. Many clients, you can get for free but in today’s world, IT staff require cross-platform usability and the ability to sync settings among all devices. Mosh is also great. Theres one SSH client thats able to do all this but its subscription is thru the roof. Blink is getting close to achieving this, syncing across iPhone, iPad, and M1 Macs. Thats all that i actually require. The only issue i have is with the M1 (Apple Silicon) Mac, if you right click on the app, it crashes it, every single time. I know it wasnt originally built for that device, so its still a five star app. But it’s on my wishlist of future updates and would complete all my SSH requirements..Version: 14.0.3
✓ Perfect SSH Panel but...I really love the integration that is offered here...the only part i missed is a capability to scroll up when using mosh, is either I have no clue how to scroll or it is not the functions, but doesnt seems listed anywhere. ✓ Great except when buggyI love the idea and I want to love this app but paste sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t, and ssh for hosts set up with keys via config apparently doesn’t work at all. The repo suggests this is a known issue, so I’m disappointed it wasn’t mentioned in the description for a paid app. I will spend more time trying to get it working, because I think it has potential, but for now I would warn you this is an experts-only app, if you’re not comfortable running ssh with -vvv then wait for it to mature..Version: 12.8

✓ Best yet!!I’ve tried a lot of ssh terminals for the iPad. This one is by far the best. Runs tmux perfectly thus far. This is obviously written by folks who spend much of their lives in a terminal like myself. Also, it can handle data fast. For example, had a python program spitting out fast serial data from an arduino... handles it like a champ. Not so much for the other popular iOS terminal program I was using. Another great thing- I can now use solarized theme. This app is pricey, but if you do a lot of terminal work, could be well worth it for you..Version: 8.026

✓ Completely replaces my existing SSH clientThis app is awesome for anyone working on remote servers using their iPad. It’s responsive, easy to use, and very reliable. My ONLY issue is that with iOS 11 on my iPad, whenever I go into split screen mode, something goes funky and I get a bunch of ‘up arrow’ requests in my tmux sessions..Version: 8.026

✓ Persistent connections- worth every centWorth the price just for the fact it persists ssh sessions while you switch between apps, such as to research something in Safari. Developer was responsive with an issue I had with nonstandard ports. ————- While it works fine if you have ssh set up on port 22 it does t work at all with a nonstandard port. I get a “ Socket error: Unknown error: -1” I wish I’d known that before I brought it. Update: thanks for the response. I did use the -p option and that is what led to the error. Ok, I tried using -p before specifying the address and it worked fine. This is different from the way ssh usually works on a standard shell where -p can be after the address. Please fix this so others don’t write this nice package off..Version: 13.3
