BBC Earth colouring is released to coincide with the global launch of PLANET EARTH II - the latest Attenborough-narrated wildlife documentary epic from the BBC's Natural History Unit.

Free to download, the app features packs of 12 intricate line drawings based on iconic shots from the new inspirational series - the first picture in each pack is free, with the remainder available as an in-app purchase.

Each illustration is accompanied by a Fact File and can be meticulously coloured using free-form and block-fill colouring tools - all of your artistic creations can then be uploaded and shared across your favourite social media.

Launched with 3 initial packs, there are 36 illustrations based on iconic shots from PLANET EARTH II. Future pack releases will draw on BBC Earth's archives to bring you new sets of illustrations inspired by the natural world.

✓ Get the controls rightMarvellous app with high potential; its approach is a great first step. Navigation however (e.g. Zooming, moving around picture) can be quite a pain. Also, areas not meant to be coloured may be coloured unnoticed, hence requiring a lot of undos and therefore much hard work is deleted along with the error. ✗ Needs landscape modeI wouldn't mind paying for the packs, but it seems kind of ridiculous in this day and age not to have landscape orientation support. Useless right now to us, as my young daughter uses her iPad only in landscape mode (that's the only way the stand in her case works). ✗ Needs workThis app shows promise but needs work before it's even worth making costly purchases and it's only got 3 free pictures to color. On first opening the app the first glaring thing that needs to be addressed is making the app to be usable in landscape, not just portrait. Think about it devs how many iPad cases do u see being usable in portrait? It's not working seamlessly with apple pencil either. Fix these things then it might be worth paying for but as it stands now it's way overpriced for what it is..OzwaveVersion: 1.0
