(OLD) Warhammer 40,000:The App for Positive User Reviews

Only thing missing is Kill TeamThis app has so much potential. I can easily reference any rule book or codex in print and keep track of my armies. I realize that this app is still a work in progress but the $5 sub fee for the Warhammer+ experience is well worth it considering the physical books average around $30-$50+ each. As the title of my review states, the only thing really missing are the Kill Team books and army builder feature. Kind of irritated that the Kill Team app that came out in 2019 is no longer available in the meantime though..Version: 2.29.0

Great StartThis app has a great foundation. The functionality is good and it has gotten better over time. There are still some bugs. The data is also not as up to date as it should be. In my opinion the app should be updated the day a codex, dataslate or chapter approved drops. This should be the main source of information as opposed to a secondary. I don’t think they would, but if I could just get each of the codexes unlock for a fee. They would end up making more. Overall it makes looking up data sheets very quick if you own the codex. Keep the good features and updates coming..Version: 2.19.0

Lots of potentialHi there, I’m giving this app 5 stars, simply because I know the developers have released a little early (a bit more user testing probably could have been done) and there’s so much potential here! Some feedback I’ve gathered reading reviews of the app for you to consider: - Bug: after paying the subscription fee I’ve now been logged out and the “restore purchases” button doesn’t work for me - UEX: the core rules links to a web page, which isn’t particularly helpful in your pals basement or when you’re offline... please try and make this available offline - UEX: hyperlinking special rules (like “blast”) to their rule description would be great! - UEX: If you can make search truly global that would be superb (search on rules, units, codices) Those are just a few, you probably know them already though!.Version: 1.0.1

Nice app, but why a subscription fee?Warhammer is a tabletop game and this app is a great tool for players - don’t see the value for money in a monthly subscription..Version: 2.0.5

This App is better than the GW Haters5$ a month for All the books in one easy to use digital application, That’s great value. Compare to buying all the books, that’s Hundreds of Dollars and lots to slog around just for a few quick references and opposition research. The App is clearly superior here. A lot of people mention BattleScribe, but BattleScribe doesn’t contain the stratagems, while the app does, along with a lot of other useful peripheral rules to the game. Lastly is all the nerd neck scrubs who have a perpetual irrational hatred for GW. Many didn’t even buy the Subscription but gave a poor review. Many said the subscription service wasn’t working, it works fine. These inane critics just didn’t update their apps, and instead of taking personal responsibility decided to blame GW. Then there’s the unwillingness to support the community, they don’t want to support the app financially to help it grow and improve. They also don’t want to support it with honest reviews and instead focus on downvoting it to validate their own insane biases. Which can detract newcomers to the hobby from getting a useful product. But the best part is when you download the app and buy the subscription these rejects Aren’t Included. 5 Stars!.Version: 1.2.0

Much improvedI think since the initial release of the app it has greatly improved and reducing the monthly cost helped a ton as well. My only ask and why I gave 4/5 stars is because my friend and I personally love to play with power not points cause it’s quick and easy. In the battle forged list builder there is no way to see the total power of the list. Which is dumb because they are basic integers that I’m sure can be assigned to each object (unit) and be reported back to the user easily. It exactly like points being calculated only way easier cause you only have 1 value per unit. Please hot patch in the option to toggle between points and power of the list!.Version: 2.2.2

Rough but functionalHave used it for about a year or so, with varying issues during that time, however after playing with it I’ve grown to use it in lieu of other options, hence the 4 stars. They are actively updating it and it does get updates for points and rules. Qualms would be around semi-frequent crashing with certain actions during list building (say you add an Inquisitor to a chapter or are trying to choose wargear on a vet), nothing terrible, restart and remove. Some things don’t seem to line up with the codices, for better and worse, whether wargear that can be taken by model or unit, the count doesn’t match for unit and the next can take more then allotted. The majority of point issues seem to have been cleared up, an example being a power sword on your Intercessor srg would jump the 105 cost up to 120, that is NO longer an issue. It does provide a fair amount of rules (some tied to your purchase of whatever codex) and has been set up for GT or EW play. Would like to see further polish as time goes by and potentially more functionality, barring the intent to create a separate app for Kill Team or even Apocalypse, maybe even HH army building, but that’s also just as fine an expected to be its own format and app. If in doubt, try it for the month, play with it and keep fiddling, if you take to it then keep it, if you don’t move along and check it out another year..Version: 2.40.0

Now works okayOn release the app had major issues with being able to get back in after closing it. It seems this has now been resolved and is working as intended. It’s nice to have so much information readily available however the subscription cost seems far too steep.Version: 1.1.0

Some optimismIf everyone could quit dumping on this app that would be great. It accomplishes a lot that we’re looking for. I am able to build a list of my army and access my information on my phone. There are certainly some points that could be fixed. For example a bug that adds 33 points to my army that doesn’t belong or not being able to use my iPad sideways. But this is a great starting point to eventually a great app that has everything we’re looking for. Now relax and let them improve it..Version: 2.0.4

It’s good I don’t know what all the fuss is aboutIf you’re already paying for Warhammer plus then this app is great. I see a lot of negative comments but I haven’t had that problem experience. AoS app is also great..Version: 2.42.0

Handy ReferenceInstead of lugging the BRB from indomitus to the shop all I need is this. Any players worth their salt either know how to look something up so the layout is a breeze or wants to get it right and will wait for the extra 30 seconds. Which I’ll say is noticeably shorter than paging through 4 real books. I see people complaining about the subscription price and it seriously makes me laugh. In a year that’s $60 USD or one box of Intercessors. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess you spend more than that on the hobby a year. It’s not a big investment. Lost star is for this rough launch..Version: 1.1.0

Great app, but only one flawThe app is amazing, the regular updates keep it a fairly smooth experience, and the new subscription price of only $3 is really worth it for all the 8th edition codexes and the battle forge. The only problem that I’ve run into, however, is that the app will sometimes struggle to properly calculate the pint values. It will register what each unit is worth, but then add additional points for no known reason. I really wish I could give this app 5 stars, but this flaw has somehow gone unnoticed for too long. If it were fixed though, 5 stars all the way..Version: 2.6.0

It’s come a long wayThe warhammer app is now the best way to build lists and quickly reference data sheets while playing a game of 40k. Relics and warlord traits are still a bit fiddly to see the rules for, but this if more than offset by having the one place that includes the latest points and errata wordings, and saves you having to lug around codexes and rule books!.Version: 2.2.1

It isn’t as bad as the ratings seemTo do most things you need to pay, but that was announced months before the app was released and it doesn’t crash as often as the ratings seem and overall it is a good app, it doesn’t quite deserve the five stars I have given it but by no means does it deserve 1.7 stars so I tried to balance it out a little bit.Version: 1.4.2

Ignorant reviewsAlmost every negative review is laden with incorrect information and judging the state of the Battleforged feature while it is in a public test (beta) phase. Like with anything there is room for improvement and improvements have been made steadily since release. The army builder is very promising and has been updated frequently since the launch of it’s beta. Based on its functionality and performance so far I absolutely can say I will be using this exclusively for army building once it is in full release..Version: 2.0.3

Doing wellGw has listened to all the people with issues on the app and they have delivered well done hope to see more improvements over the new year..Version: 2.0.1
