✓ LOG IN FIXED MUST READI’ve never wrote a review for an app yet but I just needed to share this for my fellow Macmillan users, from my experience on this site everyone including myself had troubles logging in. I’ve tried my tablet, iPhone, and iPad. It all seem not to work. I even tried contacting my school. It turns out that you need to verify your account sent to your email. It’s misleading that the Macmillan keeps saying that stating that the log in is incorrect and that they ask for a link. So now I advise you all to go to your email for a link, it will say you need to make a new password and ask you to make a security question along with an answer to fully let you have access to your ebook. Overall this whole journey was hectic and misleading. It would’ve never happened if they said we needed to verify our account instead of stating our logins are wrong and we needed a link. The app overall is pretty good. It lets has highlight, bookmark, voice memo, search bar and even has book number pages. Unlike the Cengage that was a quick login with no problems, the only pro about it over the Cengage is that Macmillan has page numbers in which I have so much struggling dealing with over at Cengage..Version: 4.7.1
✓ Can’t sign inI got the app to avoid having to open a browser every time I wanted to read my textbook. I can’t login, I tried going through the support section and it literally offered no solution. I even tried downloading their other app to see if it was just this one that caused problems but neither will let me sign in. If you’re a college student, just stick to using a browser!.Version: 4.5

✓ Tech support is worse than useless...... they’re blissfully ignorant. I contacted them via chat, clearly explaining that I was using this app on an iPad. ✓ Audio readerIt’s nice that there’s an audio version of the book that I’m reading, however, the audio is horrible. It reads decently, but halfway through the paragraphs it will read the side margins or diagrams or maps, and can make listening very difficult. Sometimes it will jump around the page because of this. It’s a good idea to have audio, but it was done very poorly.Version: 4.8

✓ I just lost my textbookWith my mid-term coming up, I open the app to start studying, as I do every week, except this time, my textbook is gone. What the hell? Now I need to go thru their support process to get help. This is ridiculous and unacceptable..Version: 4.8

When i attempted to login, i was told to attempt to do so through the link provided to me by my teacher, but there is no option to sign in with a link on the app. When that option wasn’t available, I tried their “Contact Support” feature. I try logging in I have to activate 4 times before it works, especially on my computer I buy a book k wanna read it on my computer but I can’t because it force’s me to read it on my phone like are you serious. It’s such a joke I had an issue and I called the help hotline when I asked for help they sounded so clueless leaving me on a call for 2 hours for me to resolve absolutely nothing, not only is the company a joke but the workers, I ask for help and it seems that I know just was much on how their website works, and as for the app I can’t login with out it kicking me out for my phone turning off. ✓ WorthlessWorks as terribly as all of Macmillan’s online tools. I downloaded this app because suddenly the ebook I paid for wouldn’t load on their website. They advertise this app there, saying you can read your ebook on it, but when I download it, my login doesn’t work and they say I don’t have an account. ✓ Clunky and unapproachableCall me naive, but when I bought an ebook textbook from Macmillan, I imagined that I would be able to read it on iBook or Kindle. Oops. The required Macmillan reader is slow, has a horrible font choice and page layout, cannot be zoomed on an iPad Pro, and stalled twice while searching through pages and thus had to be restarted. I resent paying this much for an ebook and then having to view it with this very frustrating interface. It’s free, and it’s not really worth that. ✓ HORRIBLE SOFTWAREHave been using for about a month now on my iPad. The idea is awesome, download the ebook and read or have it audibly read to you while you drive or are tired of reading. I love the concept, but the app performs horribly. When you touch the screen to interact with the book, the page jumps back about 10 paragraphs or so and it never starts the audio where you want it to. It’s so annoying. You’ll waste about 5-10min with getting the page right when you just want to be proficient. Now I open the app today to study and the book has disappeared. This app is a joke. They need to hire better programmers. I paid for the book and can’t get my money’s worth. Sad.Version: 10.1

✓ Horrible - do not buy their ebooksThe set up for the books is by chapter not pages. It makes it difficult to study or take notes on it. Here is what I found using the app ( it is also the same for the website)... 1) you must scroll down in each chapter, not page number 2) you are unable to take notes in margins, like a normal text book 3) Formate is similar to how blogs were formatted in the mid 90s or early 2000s 4) Unable to bookmark the page you stopped reading on 5) bookmarks are only of the chapter front page 6) Unstructured formate of the end of the chapter, basically a long list of words with not indication where in the chapter (pg #) they are located I strongly advice against using their e book. Not user friendly at all and horrible design overall of their interface!!!.Version: 9.2.2

✓ Poorly designedAs one reviewer mentioned, actually logging in and accessing your books is a pain. There is no logical reason why you can just log in with all of the user info you’ve already created. The helpful reviewer says there’s a way to “approve” it through an email link but Macmillan does not make this easy whatsoever. Why have an app that hardly works? I still don’t know how to get this email link for approval or where to find it. In its current state this app is completely useless which is a real shame since the services it promises to offer sound fantastic..Version: 9.2.3
