✓ Actually usable nowAfter many months / years of bugfixes, it’s FINALLY at a point where I can actively use it on the regular. ‘Twas a long journey from the place where it was randomly recalculating for my whole photo library every time I opened the app. It still overheats my phone, and there’s no settings for how similarly you want the photos to be treated, but overall it’s a lifesaver for an image hoarder like me. ✓ Good But FlawedThis is a pretty nice app. Scans the library very quickly and sorts the problem images into categories, with a nice easy to use interface. However I absolutely don’t trust it enough to just hit ‘delete all’, it’s just not smart enough. Particularly with photos it thinks are ‘Blurred’. The vast majority of mine it put under blurred were photos of foggy scenes, or hazey sunrises etc. they really need to pump some more machine learning into that detection algorithm. But still, it does greatly simplify the process of photo culling, as long as you’re willing to pay attention..Version: 1.3.18
✓ Good, but stuck on portrait orientationI really enjoy this app and find it incredibly useful for cleaning up my photos. It’s been an immense help since I can fire it up when I have some down time and go through my thousands and thousands of photos that span two decades. My one complaint that keeps this from being a 5 star app is that it only supports portrait orientation. Not a problem for my iPhone, but when I’m using my iPad, it means I have to take it out of my keyboard case and hold the iPad in portrait mode. This isn’t a HUGE problem, but it is annoying, which means I tend to use it less on the bigger screen iPad. If the developer could add landscape support for iPadOS, it’d be the perfect tool on that platform..Version: 1.3.5

✓ Highly Recommend!I do a lot of iPhone photography and this app really helps to remove duplicates that aren't sharp (also video). Additionally, it declutters my phone from all those random screenshots by sorting them all in one bundle so you don’t have to search for them throughout your pictures and can pick and choose which to keep or remove. Make no mistake, you have full control in deciding what stays or goes to trash, but this app moves the process along at a faster pace by assisting and sorting everything for you. ✓ WOW!Downloaded this app awhile ago then forgot about it. Going thru all my apps today to delete ones I wasn’t using & couldn't even remember what this app was about. After reading the description decided to try it out. I have over 24K pics, videos etc on my phone! Aye yi -yi! I just haven’t taken time (ob) to delete ANY over the years although many are dupts, blurry etc. The task was too daunting! The only feature I’ve used so far on this app is the one that shows all blurry pics-what’s nice is it allows you to de-select the ones you still want to keep. It instantly allowed me to delete all the blurry pics I didn’t want-that alone would have taken a LONG time-out of 24K it’s a relatively low number-300 but still! It breaks all photos into groups of duplicates, similar, blurry, videos, screen shots. Now, I love my doggo but really, do I NEED over 10K pics of him?? ✓ The most amazing appI have told every single person I know about this app. It’s amazing - if you are wanting to purge your phone this is absolutely the app for you. I am not exaggerating when I say I have deleted thousands of pictures. The “similar” feature is by far the best part - though I would highly recommend going through each set of pictures manually so you don’t miss anything you’d want to keep. This is absolutely worth the price and I’ll up my subscription each year for sure. A must have for moms who take far too many pictures of your kiddos. Also great for purging wedding pictures or anything that you just don’t need five slightly different pictures of the same things. I ran out of iCloud storage so I started manually going through my photos (without the app) and got quickly overwhelmed. I searched the App Store and found Gemini Photos - I downloaded it and started using. I was instantly shown similar photos, duplicates, screenshots, and more. The app walks you through finding photos and showing you similar photos and recommends the best ones to keep and easily trash the other. The main area for duplication management, like many people is my photo library. This app makes identifying these really easy. The simple layout and selection method makes using it a breeze. The price, either monthly or lifetime may put some off, which I can understand, but if photo management is very important to you, the. It’s a small price for the facilities this app enables. The only reason for not giving five stars is a few of improvements I’d hope to see in future versions. 1: Some way if telling me the file name and some other metadata. Some photos appear very similar, but I want to check them before making a call on what to do with them. I know it’s not the ideal situation, but sometimes viewing the images on a Mac will show me what I can’t see on an iPhone. 2: Maybe a way to put selected into an album, rather than deleting the pictures, allowing a final review before deletion. 3: Separate similar photos and exact duplicates. Photos from an event, which lead to multiple similar pictures are grouped despite being distinct from one and other. ✓ Best App EVER but having some issuesThis is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I have TONS of photos and this has helped significantly to clean them up. However, it has not been able to delete anything for about a month. When I press “delete photos” after having gone through the ones I don’t want, it simply doesn’t. Sometimes it does try to delete the photos, but each time an error pops up saying something to the effect of “Sorry, we couldn’t delete photos at this time.” Now my iCloud storage is full because I haven’t deleted photos in a while and thought that the issue might blow over. Photos that get selected as blurred never go away. You inspect them and they just sit there. You should be able to swipe them into an I don’t want to review them for blurred images again like you can for photos that end up in the other category. It needs to have an exact duplicate search not just a similar search. Every one takes multiple shots and the app requires you to review them all. Every time. Shows instructions on how to add Siri Shortcuts every time the app is used. Every time. Some photos are flagged as dupes when they’re wildly different - probably due to a similar file name or metadata. Overall Gemini II does a good job for what it’s meant to do . . . with a few annoying head-scratching choices from the developer. I already bought the app, stop with the pop-ups. As for others, it usually gets it right for deleting duplicates, especially photos that are taken in bursts. ✓ See valueI just came back to Canada from a trip to Colombia and I completely saw the value of this app after taking 2000 photos. Many blurs, clutter and duplicates. This is a time saver and also prevents clutter when I upload to Google Photos. I ended up buying the one-time. I’d recommend developer provide the one time upfront as you only see the monthly and discounted annual rate as monthly at beginning. Users can avoid selection at beginning by tapping the X in the top left or right. Either way it takes you in to use before it prompts you again for options where you see the one-time. It’s $20.99 in Canada which is steep only if you don’t see the value in the use. If you take a lot of photos, you will see this value instantly. Everyone should stop complaining. ✓ Pretty greatMy only complaintWith this app is this: if you tap a photo to look at it before you allow it to be deleted, and then you close it again, note the number of photos that are going to be deleted. Sometimes I only look at one photo and all of a sudden the app has selected 39 photos to delete. I learned right away to select a couple and delete them, select a couple and delete them, and go through it that way. Because if you think you’re going to go through the whole file and then partway through you want to look at a photo, opening and closing it will cause the app to add some random number of photos to your delete pile that you have not selected. When you have a toddler, you want to capture their milestones and great memories without being told by your phone that there is no space. ✓ Awesome app. Not a fan of pay structureUsing the free three days then canceling Would’ve easily paid a value equal to 2-3 months of the subscription. ✓ The tool that should be standardIt really should be standard functionality in the iPhone itself to delete ALL photos, but this tool does the job for you. Although I had to try it a few times before I finally got the message that all photos had been deleted. It took a few hours to delete 8000 photos. ✓ Take out the guesswork!This app has helped me to only keep my best photos in my albums. It compares the photos that are similar to a specific shooting sequence, chooses the one from the set that it finds the least blurry, the most attractive photo that has the subject with the best lighting, etc. The one judged to be the best is presented. The photos with flaws are shown next to it with a red tint and a check mark in a cicle. I then compare them, choose the best one I like and trash the rest. If I’d like to keep one that is suggested for the trash, I deselect it, and it’s saved! This app has certainly helped me control the volume of photos on my phone, and has saved a lot of time. ✓ Simple and Essential!Back in the early 2000’s, my first child was born. Digital cameras were becoming more prevalent, so I purchased one to capture those important firsts. After an upload my PC back then, its drive died but I was able to get the pics back after tonnes of tinkering. Ever since that day, I have taken over 700,000 pictures and videos, and unfortunately have become obsessed in backing them all up, to the point where I once had seven copies of each picture I had taken!! Trying to sort manually through all of them was absolutely not possible, so I just stuck with them. The Gallery Cleaner was an App Store suggestion after I’d purchased a few editing apps, and man, it was by far THE BEST suggestions I’ve seen to date. This app is ridiculously easy to use, sorts through media nice and swiftly, but most of all, the algorithms it uses to detect the pictures in the related category are spot on! That can be frustrating and makes me put the app down for a while. However, it’s a great idea overall and pretty easy to comprehend. I’ve defeated thousands of photos/videos using this app and have been able to postpone paying $10/month for cloud storage for about 6 months now. So, the app has paid for itself. My one “I really really really wish they had this” is like a daily sort. Like, where you can filter thru the pictures from that one day in you photo history and clean them out each day. ✓ Great app, but could use some fine tuningI use this app a lot to clean up photos on my phone. My pictures automatically back up using a cloud service so I can remove them periodically. This makes it easy to sort through duplicates. That said, I take a lot of photos I wish there was a way to pick photos to remove based on age and just remove them as a batch without having to sort through each photo. This is generally what I want to do by the time I get around to cleaning up my camera roll and I don't like having to take action on each photo or delete everything with no middle ground..Version: 1.3.45

I had over 32k photos from the past several years and I deleted a total of 6.5k in the end. The app did an amazing job of combining similar photos and suggesting which is the best photo to keep. A lot of the time I took it’s suggestion. The app even grouped the photos by month so I could easily skip around. Very easy to actually delete the photos and they end up in your phone delete folder so you have 30 days to change your mind and recover the photo if you want. This app is a dream. ✓ Really Well DoneI’m really impressed with how well the similar photo detection works. The app’s UI is well designed, so it makes it simple to quickly clean up lots of photos. You can also watch live photos within the app to compare on that aspect as well. I got this app to clear up space in iCloud, and it has definitely helped with that. Unfortunately, what the app helped show me was that most of my space is being taken up by videos! It does help you clean up videos, but it is limited to sorting them by file size. ✓ Not perfect, but pretty closeI’ve tried several photo library clean up tools, and this is far and away the best and easiest I’ve tried between its easy interface, intuitive categories, and detection of similar pictures. On this last point, the similar detection is good but with lots of room for improvement. It often flags pictures of different people in the same setting as similar, which is not really what most people mean by potential duplicate photos. The automatic selection of a best option in a group is handy and works well with 2-3 truly similar pictures. But you really do have to review any larger sets manually. Fortunately, the app makes this easy and fast to do. I am a little baffled why some of the cleanup categories don’t allow you to explicitly keep pictures, but keeps photos you want to hang onto in those buckets seemingly forever. ✓ A hard chore made simple and quickI had over 8,000 photographs in my Photos library. I had been trying to manually clean out duplicates, but didn’t get very far. I now have closer to 6,000 after Gemini identified duplicates, blurred photos, and other potential “why’d I ever keep this” images. Not quite perfect, Gemini too often identified a time series of photos as duplicates, especially the sunsets and tropical animals I shot while on vacation. But by showing the shots and a suggested keep/delete it still sped up the process greatly. Gemini does mark keep if I decide to keep more than one of the duplicates. It does not, however, do the same for screenshots or blurred which, increasingly, includes iPhone photos using portrait mode. I still use Gemini after that initial cleaning. You can then view each category and either let it delete everything straight away or go through and review each one, swiping up to keep or down to discard and then you can tap Trash at the end to confirm it. This app helps me manage my iCloud space and stay on a lower tier plan but still doesn’t make me fully comfortable to use for the following reasons: • every time I open the app it has to process everything all over again. Can’t you use a bg processing task to do this when my phone is charging or something? • the little check marks endlessly confuse me. Am I keeping or deleting this photo?! Why not use a X or trash icon to give me more confidence with what this action does? • Even delete duplicates is confusing. I have doubles of almost everything but I tried to select only one of each double because the design doesn’t make clear to me that the original will remain. Consider showing the “original” in the stack and greying it out to signify that it’ll stay there but I can’t delete it? • sometimes duplicates shows what look like photos but are actually videos with TINY playback bars!! I almost deleted what looked like a ton of bad photos but were actual videos with bad thumbnails. This is a pretty big visual bug imo! Bad subscription.Once or twice a year, I try to clear out my unnecessary photos from the photos app. Every time, I make it no more 10 minutes before I quit out of frustration and accept the fact that I’ll have junk photos, videos, and screenshots stored with the rest of my photos for life. Gemini solves this issue. I think I spent probably a solid 30-45 minutes yesterday decluttering my photo collection. I know that sounds rough, but I cleared thousands of unnecessary files - something that would have previously taken numerous hours. Not only that, they almost make this process fun with swiping your photos to the keep pile or the trash pile. The way the app organized groups of photos was phenomenal - sometimes I’ll take 20 photos to get that 1 good one. With this app, I’m able to delete the other 19 in one tap. What I absolutely loathe about this app is the subscription model. I’m beating a dead horse here, but this is a product that we should be able to pay for once. With how great it is, I’d easily pay $20 for this app and keep it for life. Unfortunately, that’s not an option.
