✓ Limited options 😢Well this app is really good but as I am DEFFINATELY not spending any money on apps you have limited options and honestly there is better apps.Version: 2.0.7
✓ If you are paying it leaves something to be desiredAs a free app this is great. There is actually decent content and the fact there is no watermark or ads is wonderful. However I recently decided to pay for the app so I could use it to make graphics and there is a lot to be desired. The navigation is not super clean, there are sometimes glitches, etc. There’s no way to restore purchases, so since I got the paid version on my iPad i can’t seem to access any of that content on my phone. The one thing that I think i wish this app had the most is the ability to save and re-edit my designs. So for example, if I am making multiple graphics and need to change one thing on each one, I can’t go back in and re-edit a design. A lot of other similar platforms (even free ones) for graphic design have this capability so I’m wondering why this one doesn’t. Overall though I like the text fonts, and preloaded drawings/images, and since I am not artistic and can’t doodle things like that on my own this is very helpful. I hope they will update and add the feature of re-editing files (even if it is just for premium users) so that this is a more robust graphic design platform..Version: 2.0.6

✓ Glitchy & is not honoring my purchaseThis app is something that I really was excited to use because it seemed to have really cool features and was perfect for what I was trying to do, and I even decided to pay some money for some of the extra features because I planned on using it for awhile. Although upon using it, it continuously started kicking me out of the app, and when I would click back on all my progress would be gone. I tried again and again for almost two days until now to get something finished before it would kick me out and eventually tried to delete and redone load the app so that maybe I would work. This only managed to delete whatever access it had let me have to to features I had bought and apparently isn’t going to let me use what I paid for. This is sooo not okay with me clearly and if there is not a way to use these features that I paid for again then I need my money back..Version: 2.0.6
✓ On the fence...Tbh, I went back and forth when it came to downloading this app. I’m kind of a sucker for A Beautiful Mess, and I wanted to see how this app looked and worked. For someone like me (occasionally adds to photos, not a blogger or influencer, doesn’t add a ton of photos very often), this is not really necessary and I wouldn’t mind getting my money back. That being said, it’s not awful by any means. I definitely get the same vibe from Design Kit as I do from their other apps. There’s a good number of fun stickers and different types of brushes and designs. Being able to integrate the other app is cool too. I would have liked if some of the tools were more easily accessed. It just seems a bit cumbersome..Version: 1.0
✓ Love this app other than two major setbacks.I love this app SO so so much. BUT it won’t let me save my files/artwork so I can go back in to work on them or edit them later. That means if I made a typo, and I’ve already closed the app, I have to redo from start to finish. Not cool. Also it crashes if I open/close the app more than a few times. The last thing that I don’t like is there isn’t an option to add another photo to your current design, like a collage. I have to save the artwork, open a different app, add my photo, and then go back to A Design Kit. But again it’s my favorite design app, all the stickers and collage capabilities are really really fun. I hope they fix these issues!!.Version: 2.0.5
✓ It has its pros and consI bought the full package so I could access everything, and I love all of the fonts, stickers, etc that they offer (especially since I’m not great at making my own doodles), but there are some definite cons to the app that are starting to get annoying considering I paid for it. It frequently crashes in the middle of projects so then I have to completely start over, which is frustrating. I also wish I had the ability to save projects within the app. Another cool feature to have would be the ability to add my own photos to the backgrounds within the app. If you use any of their backgrounds, the only thing you can do with it is put text on it or any of their stickers..Version: 2.0.6

✓ So much promise!This is a great design app. The packs and themes are beautiful and I love what they have. I don’t want to talk about the design aspects because in my opinion, they are flawless. The technical issues are really annoying. The app crashes in the middle of complicated projects with several layers. Recently once I have finished a design it will not allow me to save the finished project that isn’t horribly blurry. I have had to screenshot and then crop my originals down. The layers feature does not always work. I have had to find ways around to layer pieces the way I would like them. Sometimes elements in the collage feature do not respond. They either zoom in too far or will not allow any movement out. Originally I thought the issue was caused by my old iPhone, which I had not updated for a long time. I just bought the brand new iPhone SE (which I love, btw) and the app has still given me the same issues on this phone as well. I’m giving the app three stars because it is really beautiful and has great potential. If it wasn’t as pretty I’d have to give it two stars..Version: 2.0.5
✓ So frustrating and zero supportThe app constantly crashes. I’ve reached out to their support page but I’ve had nothing, other than an auto-response about a month ago. There’s no way to save drafts so you have no choice but to start from scratch. DO NOT waste your money with the paid version, you’ll just end up experiencing the same frustrations. The saved images are low-res too, so when you are able to complete an image, the text looks fuzzy and poor quality. So disappointed with this, as it came so highly recommended..Version: 2.1.10

✓ Would’ve given 5 but you can’t zoomI love this app. It is my go to now when it comes to editing pictures. I love all the fun brushes and all the different things you can do with the stickers. It’s fun and trendy and it keeps my feed exciting. THE ONLY REASON I AM NOT GIVING THIS APP 5 STARS IS FOR ONE MAIN REASON. I can’t zoom on my picture so if I’m trying to use the brush tool to do some outlines or any fun trendy things with the brushes it never looks good because I can’t zoom. ✓ Not what it used to beI loved this app and everything that came with it but since not using it for a couple of months things have changed massively. Features that used to be accessible are now only reachable for £1.99 or £2.99, stickers and shapes that I used to use often are now behind a payment wall. The app itself also keeps closing when I’m half way through making something which is infuriating! Also cropping my own photos as a background is impossible as it always crops wrong and gives me a zoomed in version of the top corner of whatever I’m cropping. ✓ Will crash in the middle of your work.MAJOR CRASHING. This is was amazing app I loved it so much and it really sparked my creativity. I pay for the yearly subscription and use is often. This app crashes in the middle of a work and it is SO IRRITATING that it hasn’t been fixed. One glitch still happening is that the solid colors show up as the metallic colors next to them and I have to swipe back and forth to get them to show up. But the CRASHES... This app on iPad AND mobile crashes in the middle of my work every time I use it. I have to be careful to keep saving as I go and just wish it would work right the first time. Update I wrote this review several months ago and came back here bc these issues have still not been fixed. It’s is September 2020. Fix these issues and PLEASE FIX THE CRASHES. It crashes every single time halfway through my work on my phone now!! No one cares about new features if the app is unusable in the first place. ✓ Was excitedThe anticipation for this app by ColorStory was hyped up just for it to be lack luster ..and in usual fashion it’s yet another app that they have created and abandoned .. no real updates in over a year while they focus on a color story, templates and even introduced yet another app called pink papaya… Save your money and just use the unpaid version it’s not worth a monthly or yearly subscription they don’t pay enough attention to it . It had potential but they have really slacked off nothing new in over a year of development while the other apps get regular ones .. ✓ Awesome features but keeps shutting down on meHi! I want to preface this by saying that I love all your apps and use A Color Story all the time with no issues! I also love this app- amazing fonts, stickers, backgrounds, etc! I just did the three day trial for all the extra features, however, and decided to cancel my subscription before I got charged. ✓ A Good App, Too Many CrashesI've been using this app since it came out, across several generations of phones. I love the functionality and the options (there are AO many options), and it's easy to use but the one thing that has never been corrected is that it crashes unpredictably. Sometimes it's after one or two edits, sometimes it's after a ton of edits. It has fully shut down my phone (several generations, not just one) before and this happens 8/10 of the time. The last time I used this app (yesterday) it crashed my phone entirely and when I got my phone to restart I had to uninstall and reinstall this app and the music app I had open at the time in order to get either of them to work again. Again, love this app, love the overall functionality, and there's a reason I've kept it on my phone for so long, but the crashes are very frustrating..Version: 2.1.14
✓ Removed free features and now chargeThis was my favourite app. I have spend so much money purchasing filter packs and would then continue editing in the app using the individual editing elements. I used the colour + element to adjust specific colours of my photos, but I have just gone in today and it is now a paid feature! This is a feature that has been free since it was introduced a year or two ago. I’m really annoyed. I’ve swapped most of my filters over to the Light and Airy ones for light room, but would do further edits using this. I’m going to look at other options now because the fact that they took something away that used to be free has really annoyed me even though I’ve been a loyal paying customer for a few years..Version: 2.1.3

✓ Asking for a refundThis app has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. I really love it. I run social media accounts for a few business and this app has all kinds of tools for making really great story posts but it crashes ALL. THE. TIME. And there's no save. There's no opening the app and picking up where you left off. I'll spend 15-20 minutes putting together an infographic and right before I save it will crash. I used to use this app more and finally unsubscribed. It wasn't worth $5 a month if I couldn't get through a single project without a crash. ✓ App Crashing + No Option to SaveI feel like Im being punished for liking this app too much at the beginning. I LOVED the app at first so quickly after I started using it I went ahead and purchased the year subscription. Since then, the app has crashed on me over and over and over again. This made me quickly realize there is NO way to save what you are working on. So if the app crashes, or you accidentally close it or even if you want to work on something else and come back to what youre working on later, you cant. ✓ I’m not sure about this.Tbh I don’t think this should be a separate app from A Color Story. The toggling back and forth is bad. I like this app but never use it because I mostly use text on photos for Instagram stories and this is too cumbersome to open just for stories. Especially since IG stories has several different fonts and backgrounds now. The fonts and backgrounds in A Design Kit are better but i honestly don’t feel like switching over apps from IG to A Design Kit so I mostly skip it. Also, the cropping for IG stories is wrong. It doesn’t work. It looks right on the front page of the app and then when you click through to actually add text, it is the wrong size for a story. If I put text too close to the edges it doesn’t show up on IG stories unless I resize the photo to only take up a small portion of the page. Basically it crops too short and wide for IG stories, at least on an iPhone 7+. I also think there should be way more background and font options..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Over ratedLook it’s aesthetics are cute. But what you pay for the annual subscription there are basically NO updates. I think it’s updated a couple times in 12 months. It also crashes almost every single time I’m using it so if you don’t take screenshots / save your progress every 2 mins then everything you’ve created is gone. It’s happened a hundred times in the past year. My subscription is ending next month and I 10000% will not be renewing. Don’t waste your time or money with this app..Version: 2.0.7
