✓ Easy to use for this beginnerClean design makes navigating the app very easy. I was nervous- not knowing where to begin, but after purchasing a book made with Cake (BTS Recipe Book) I decided this app could be a great starting point. Speaking as someone who isn’t the best with languages and is still recovering from the embarrassment trauma from high school French and college Spanish, this app is making it fun, without pressure. Oh! And I love seeing k-pop and other pop culture references. Most importantly, I feel I am learning the building blocks to a new language, not just being thrown in with greetings and “where’s the bathroom”. ✓ Great, just a few suggestionsSo I downloaded Cake because I want to learn Korean, for my dream vacation is to Korea, and as you know, if you go to Korea, you need to learn some Korean to be able to communicate with the locals. So far, it’s pretty good, although, I do think it would help me improve more quickly if they had more speaking lessons. When the lesson requires you to watch videos, I find it hard to understand what they are saying since it’s so fast-paced. However, I just started using this app so I’m sure I’m just overreacting. ✓ Very fun! Never understood better.I am a big fan of K-dramas and K-pop. So much so that it is a part of my everyday life. ✓ I am enjoying this appI have been learning the Korean language for about 5 years now and I have used all sorts of apps, websites, books and videos to improve my language learning skills. They all have their up side and downside. Cake is one of the fewer apps that I find to actually be fun. I love BTS and learning with them as my teachers makes me want to set aside time every day. This app turns a HAVE TO into a WANT TO. Plus there is so much content available. I am never at a loss for new videos to learn from. The units are presented in an organized manner so you can follow their map or create your own based on their content. Cake covers listening, reading, writing and speaking which are all the components needed to master a language. I am an ESL teacher and I always encourage my students to use all four of those things to improve on their language building. I would recommend Cake to others especially fellow ARMY. ✓ Easy to learn!I’ve been trying to learn Korean for a while since I have been wanting to go to Korea for my next travel destination but I was afraid I was not going to understand anything at all so I decided to learn the basics but it was difficult learning by yourself.
