✓ I really wanted to continue to purchase a plan.. butI purchased the subscription for a month, and while I absolutely loved the selection of indie romance books available I had to cancel for one very big important reason. It will only allow me to go up to 1.75x speed, which is a dealbreaker. I typically listen at 3x the speed, so even at the fastest speed available I feel as though I’m listening in slow motion. I truly believe this could be the best audiobook app out there. Ever since Audible got rid of Audible Escape I’ve been looking for the alternative, and this could be a huge success, but your losing customers with the lack of basic functions that readers use. ✓ Great but …The first month was great! Then, I renewed this app and all the bugs came out from their hiding places. I couldn’t download books. If the books would download, each time I press play and the book would start all over again. Also, books would stop for no apparent reason. Please fix these bugs. ✓ Used to love, but having chronic issuesI have been using this app for a few years now and it was exactly what I wanted. A subscription service for audiobooks. I don’t want to buy the book, I just want to rent it and then move on! AnyPlay was great for that and it has a pretty good selection of books. But for the past 6 months or so, I have had CONTINUAL issues with my audiobook glitching. My books will start over just from the beginning after closing out the app and I can’t skip ahead from the table of contents bc it just starts back at chapter one over and over again. I’ve tried deleting the app and re-downloading it. I’ve tried contacting customer service and while they will get back to me, the issues just continue to occur EVERY TIME. Now it’s been freezing on me. I’ve unfortunately had to unsubscribed because I’m not going to pay for a service that I can’t use. I recommended it to so many people but had to stop because it appears that they are no longer updating the app and there are so many issues when listening to books. It also seems the devs are not interested in customers feedback or improving the app. Even their social media pages are not being updated. ✓ Unlimited Books TOTALLY FALSE! Bait & Switch Advertising…The Premium plan advertises unlimited books which IS TOTALLY FALSE. I listen to a lot of books and am cut off after getting to a certain point (not sure what that point is). This is an unethical and illegal bait and switch advertising ploy and will be reported as such. I have cancelled my premium plan due to these false promises. After a certain number of books have been listened to I get these messages: You’re offline (which I’m not) or the book is unavailable (when it actually is). The fact that it’s taken A MONTH for someone to respond to my issue says volumes (pun intended) of how poorly this company is run. The last app version update was in fact a month ago so nothing has changed. I have the premium plan and the books I try to play have been unavailable. I’ve tried several titles and they all come up unavailable. The app is also crashing saying to ‘try again later’. ✓ Done with this app…I used Anyplay for a very long time as a more affordable alternative the more well known services. But the problem of it just reseting books to the start was a major issue for me, from the middle of a book, close the app…open it up and you are back at the start… So I left to come back to Anyplay again…but the same issue is still persistent so good bue for good….JuanVDHVersion: 1.12.30

✓ Gone Downhill fastI’ve had this app for more than a year and at the beginning I loved it so much. Great selection and an occasional glitch that I could overlook. Now I literally can’t use the app anymore. It never holds my spot and will always start the book at a random place (or the beginning) and if I try to go directly to a certain spot (knowing I should keep track since I will lose it when I close) it won’t go there via table of contents and I have to manually skip chapter after chapter to find my spot. It occasionally loses the books on my saved list and sometimes just completely won’t play certain parts of a book, no matter what workarounds I may use to try to get there. Id love to keep using them and unfortunately i’m locked in for another 6 months, so I guess we can wait and see if the issues resolve, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend at this point. The App was working great for me for the longest time, but now it will not “bookmark” my progress and forces me to work through each chapter to determine where I left off last. I can’t even use the track selection to jump between tracks to advance faster. Then every time the app is closed and you reopen it the book you were listening to goes back to the beginning and then you have to find the spot where you left off. ✓ Country setting is wrongMy brother from the uk gave me his old phone. I live in South Africa. The app has me registered in the UK and wants to bill me uk price which I cannot afford. There is no where on the app to change this setting. If I put in my South African postal code it just says not valid which it isn’t for the uk. ✓ App Does Not WorkI enjoyed my free week. Loved the app and decided to purchase the quarterly plan for $24.99. Since then I have had nothing but trouble. Keep getting a message that I’m not wi-fi connected (not true). Everything else works great on my phone. Contacted the app support twice and have had no response. ✓ So many options to readI love Anyplay. I love how many books available to listen to without limits. I can go through ten or more audiobooks a month, so being able to listen unlimited amount of books is very important to me. My only complaint and the reason why I docked a star is that I have found the sound quality has been awful as of late. All the books sound very echoey. ✓ Great app, minor issues6/7/2021 Update: I still love this service, and will continue to pay for and enjoy it. I am quite happy with it, and agree with everyone who has said this service is much better than Audible and Scribd. However, the playback issues are still there, and I think may be worse. Now, every time a phone alarm goes off, or I receive a message or notification, the playback stops, and it’s anyone’s guess whether it will start where it left off or at the start of some previous chapter. I sincerely hope the developers can get the bugs worked out. This app/service has incredible potential. 4/27/2021 Such a great app, and an excellent selection of books. There are a couple of playback bugs - sometimes, when a book is paused, it won’t start back where it left off, and sometimes the playback just stops, and you have to close and reopen the app. I also can’t control the app using my car controls when connected via Bluetooth. ✓ Not sureFor the most part it’s okay. But when I’m using this app I tend to have a lot of small issues come up a lot. The front page does not get updated regularly, unless I press play I can’t see what chapter I’m on, for some reason I can’t download anything or it just takes way to long, sometimes the book I’m listening to just randomly finishes or disappears without warning and for some reason when search certain books they don’t come up unless I search for the author. But, audiobooks rarely pickup from where I left off and start all over from the beginning. I also don’t like the interface to look for audiobooks. Would be great if someone could take a look, please. *UPDATE*: a lot of books are coming up unavailable. Is this a glitch or are you guys getting ready to close down?? UPDATE/ Aug 1 2022: I noticed that you guys only respond to the positive reviews, but here goes anyway: I’ve been on the app for the last half hour & book after book is coming up unavailable. This has been a problem over the last year, but it’s been getting worse & worse. Please, please do something. I was searching for another audio service since Audible altered their membership by doing away with Audible Escape, which had a robust catalog of included titles, and replacing it with Audible Plus, which is a total ripoff. Audible Plus is full of self- published crap and public domain work you could get anywhere. I saw an ad for AnyPlay and I’m so glad I decided to try it. The selection is extensive and full of legitimately wonderful books. It’s odd that their pricing scheme is the same as I suggested to Audible in terms of bringing back Audible Escape. So gratified that I’ve found an alternative. The only reason I won’t get rid of Audible is because of its exclusive content, otherwise dumping them would be a done deal. Hashtag freeyourheadphones, hashtag AnyPlayAnyDay. Update/ Mar 3: the app is seriously buggy. It will not remember your place and books go back to the beginning, which is kind of annoying. I also think the user interface & keywording could do with a serious overhaul. That said, the wide range of books is still unbeatable. Update/ Dec 31, 2021: Of late, I am finding that when I click on a book, an alarming number of times a message comes up that it’s not available. Sometimes I’ll click again & it will suddenly load. Recently, I kept getting the error message, so I went & bought the book on Audible, only to find that it was available on AnyPlay a few days later. I’m now wondering how AnyPlay gets the rights to the books… surely if the rights were correctly secured, this wouldn’t happen. Also, the recommendations on the Browse tab aren’t regularly updated.
