Iris: Dating App Powered by AI for Negative User Reviews

Unsure I likeThis app is very difficult to put in much information about yourself and most others have no info at all. There is no way of telling how far away people are when you see their profile what their interests are or profession. I also think it’s important to know if someone is a smoker. I have asthma and really can’t be around smoke. It so far is good at matching me with people I find attractive but to me there is so much more than just physical. I want to find someone with a good sense of humor who is good with kids. I will give the app a few more days but so far I’m not impressed. I might just stick with Match.Version: 3.5.0

Good idea, bad executionI accidentally selected the wrong “interested in” gender when I was setting up my account and the app wouldn’t let me go back to fix it. It wouldn’t let me fix that in my profile either...this is crazy! Every dating app I’ve ever used has this functionality. Also it wouldn’t let me use a facebook or Instagram photo as my profile picture. Again, this seems to be something every other app allows. And when I tried to submit this feedback, the app just froze and crashed. Seems like a great idea but very bad user experience..Version: 1.4.0

Desperately needs a location filterThis is one of my preferred dating apps and have the most luck it, but it desperately needs a way to set a maximum range. I’ve been getting matched with people across the country and seeing profiles from across the world, particularly Russia for some reason. Additionally, an explanation on what the maybe button does would be helpful; does it still count as a match, or does it count as a dislike but they would normally fit your type?.Version: 3.3.0

The idea is niceThe idea of this app is nice but I am not sure it actually works. I have been on this app a few weeks, but I just deleted it. I found that the profiles available to me are not what I am interested in. There might be one or two profiles that are what I am looking for and the rest are far from what I want. I keep getting requests from people I am not interested in, in any way shape or form. I am not sure if this app truly works or if I gave it enough time but I decided to delete it because I was not happy with what I was getting..Version: 2.4.0

Has a lot of potentialI love the idea of iris for sure. There is a “maybe” button on the discover section which I like. There are a few problems with this app though, one being there is no location of users shown. A few people in my AI picks section had Russian characters in their names, I’m in utah so obviously I can’t travel that far. The other main problem is there is not enough users yet since it’s a fairly new app, so 1. Your top picks are across the globe sometimes and 2. You never get matches. But this would change if there were more people on iris..Version: 4.7.0

Does it worth itI got the premium straightaway to see what potentials this app has turns out there’s a limit to how many profiles AI gives you in a day even when you pay then it’s pretty much like tinder (or worse). When you first get the test by the AI it seems really interesting and accurate. Though, later you figure you’re being matched with people thousands of miles away where you can never meet. For some reason 90% of profiles in discover are Russian girls in Russia. Most profiles has one photo and the name only which makes me wonder if they’re being created by AI too and are fake. Been using it for few days and to be honest I’m very disappointed. I’ll give it another week and see what happens.Version: 5.3.0

Could use some work on locationSooo...I travel for my job. According to the app, the AI is supposed to learn my location and who is close to me. How can I do that when I can sometimes jump around multiple states in a day? And then there was the one prompt asking me if it was ok to suggest people who aren’t exactly close. I have yet to figure out how to undo this. Otherwise, I do like this app. It’s nice to think that there’s less of a chance of being catfished. I also like that I can see who likes me (not sure if it’s the same for the guys). You usually pay for that on other apps.Version: 4.0.0

Promising App!Super interesting concept ! I havent been able to fully indulge into it since it seem a lot of people in NJ aren’t using it right now but I think this app will become big in the future. Really liked how I was able to pick from a variety of pictures in order for the app to decide who I am attracted to potentially..Version: 1.4.0

Does it even work?I’ve used this for about a week now and I was under the impression that you’d actually be able to talk to people, however I have gotten 0 matches and not spoken to a single person. Statistically the amount of people I clicked pass on would have yielded at least one response however it is more dead silent than my pet hamster. I have come up with a hypothesis that the app doesn’t even work and the developers are just training an AI to learn and grow easier so that it can destroy the planet..Version: 3.8.0

OmgI was SO IMPRESSED by the idea behind this app- showing me stock photos to ID what I find attractive was so great, and as the entry process continued it got more accurate with the stock photos- exciting! When I got my first “iris suggested” match, it could not have been further from my “type” lol- like not even in a “it’s a computer, I could see why I got this” type way... in a “I feel like they took my type and found the opposite person” type. I know that it probably takes time but I waited a little while to write the review. I honestly haven’t seen someone on this app that I’m attracted to yet..Version: 3.5.0

InsultingThe men on this app have no substance, game or depth to them. The profiles are useless and they know the game they’re playing. They put looking for a relationship but all they’re looking for is to get laid. Pathetic. And I say insulting because I’m typically not a shallow person but the type of men that are liking me is insulting! Come on now. I’m a fairly or what society would consider to be an attractive person - why are ogres liking me. And not even from my state. I’m good off of this. The app itself has potential and sounds like a good idea but not for me..Version: 4.0.0

It doesn’t even let me sign into FacebookIve just bought a phone so I have no number yet but it asked me to sign into Facebook but it says it’s blocked It looks good but not worth 5 stars If the developers fix it then yeah it be a great app to use..Version: 1.4.0

App stopped working. It's been a few days in a row and I only get a blank white screen (no error message, no interface, no ability to report technical issues, no nothing). I totally get that this app is new. Until more people find out about it, options in your area will be limited. But I live in LA, and it ran out of people in less than a week. I was considering deleting even before the white screen of not working. Cool idea in theory..Version: 4.0.0

Cool concept but slightly unnervingThe app is meant to make online dating as efficient as possible and it does this in two ways: it relies on artificial intelligence to pair consumers with potential matches that align with their “attractionDNA” and it takes away personal information in the form of a bio. While it seems like a cool concept, this app furthers the notion that online dating is based purely on the initial attraction one feels when presented with a singular picture. It makes the process seem impersonal and clinical. Cool user interface tho..Version: 1.6.0

Wow! what a waste of time! 0 starsI have never come across a more useless dating app. it supposedly uses AI to pick matches for you and there was not a single attractive person on the entire app. i wish i didn’t waste an hour making a profile and “teaching” it what i was looking for. 0 stars..Version: 4.0.0

Shallow and a little unclearSo it's all based on photos. Every single dating app is like this. I want more information and less focus on photos. You don't even have to fill out a profile. You get an option to yes, no, or maybe someone... But if you say maybe, it still sends them a like and may match you? I just honestly find it a bit confusing when it comes to that. Obviously dating apps rely on having a critical mass of users and I think it's probably just safer to stick to bumble 🤷🏼‍♀️.Version: 3.0.0

Like the concept but it’s not working for meI downloaded this app because I can never find anyone I’m attracted to on the normal dating apps. This sounded like it would find me a better match. I loved the concept of it but in practice it’s still not finding me matches and it seems just the same as any other app. On top of that, I’m being contacted by guys that I’m not attracted to and I have to “reject” them, which is irritating (for them as well as me I’m sure). I prefer to only be contacted when there’s a match and we both have indicated that we like each other otherwise it gets too much. At the beginning the app asks you to rate your attraction to a lot of different photos. There are 3 rounds, two very long ones and one very short one. Not sure why the final round was so short. I am very attracted to a certain type of look which wasn’t really represented in those photos, so I was glad when I saw that you could upload pictures of people that you ARE attracted to. This is a good idea. I think this app could be improved slightly by: 1. At least giving you a chance to say what you are attracted to. 2. Having the opportunity to filter down the results by what each other are looking for in another person. 3. By allowing contact between two people only after they both have indicated they like each other. UPDATE: after just over a week I ended up deleting the app. It’s just not what I was expecting. I was hoping to get MORE matches, not LESS..Version: 2.5.0

Works great except...This app works great and I’ve already got some good connections BUT the “Iris picks” won’t ungrey profiles that have been there since I got on this. It just brings up new people and the same greyed out ones still show. Fix this cuz there’s a super cutie I want to swipe on! Since all features are free (best part about the app!!) then being able to swipe on those greyed out iris picks should be a possibility. Last thing is when you open messages the entire mailbox glitches and it moves up and down and the messages get flip flopped and show the new message is from someone who hasn’t responded yet. It also freezes if you hit “pass” too fast. No other dating app has these problems. If all these get fixed you’ll have a satisfied FEMALE user ❤️.Version: 4.0.0

Worst dating appIt’s supposed to use AI to identify people that you would be attracted to you get three matches a day exactly 24 hours and so far I think I might’ve been attracted to one guy but he lives in France while I live in America😑 am I supposed to be relocate to another country to find someone attractive 😂😂 you can’t make it so it only shows you locals even though it asked me if I would date someone far and I said no some of their picks for me is a profile with one photo no bio nothing but a name how would I know if it’s even a potential match the others are soooo far from my type I don’t even get it.Version: 4.0.0

No matchesFilled everything out and swiped as often as possible for a week. No matches at all. Stay off if your an average-below average guy. Edit: Developers offered to help after I left a review. Contacted them through the app and got 2 matches the following Monday. Stayed on the app for another 2 weeks and got 2 more matches, one of which I knew IRL and that’s why we matched. So after 3 weeks of use: 4 matches, 0 dates. I maintain the review above..Version: 2.6.0

Great idea but noLove the idea of this app but it’s very lackluster. I hate that when you sort by distance it doesn’t actually show distance. I’m in Georgia I don’t want a long distance relationship and I’m not moving. I don’t want to match with someone in Pennsylvania or Africa doesn’t make sense. It really can’t and shouldn’t be this hard. I see the devs responses but I don’t see anything being done just the same complaints from users and same excuses from developers.Version: 4.3.0

Not a lot of substance.Perhaps I’m the ridiculous one for not thinking more about the ap’s name—iris. This is definitely a “looks only” based dating ap. There is virtually zero information about the people you’re matching/not matching with. If you’re into that, perfect! Even if I was so shallow; the algorithm is cloudy at best. I was never sent matches that I was interested in. For those of us that find it, valuable to connect on more than the physical; this is not the best option in dating ap..Version: 2.4.0

Great idea, but no substanceOk, so you go through three stages of stock photos to ‘analyse’ what you find physically attractive. I swiped no 100% on a particular physical attribute and 10 of the first 15 profiles all had the attribute I stated was not for me. No location info on profiles? Or am I missing something? Once you’ve swiped several random matches - there’s no personalisation going on here, trust me; then you have to wait 15 minutes for more matches to unlock. Tinder has a better hit rate ffs.Version: 5.1.0

DisappointedI had really high hopes when I first started with this app. The learning interface had real promise to it, but it really fell short on what it actually delivered. My suggested profiles we’re nothing like any of the photos I had liked in the learning process. Additionally all the connections I’m getting, are of people in foreign countries and nowhere close to me. I don’t understand what the point of a “dating app” is if you’re connecting people 3000 miles away?!? I’m not looking for a mail order bride, I’m looking for someone to actually date… LOL. I would have just preferred receiving a message saying “there are no matches with in your area at this time, please be patient as he build our base and be sure to keep checking back in”..Version: 4.0.0

Location seems randomI'm just curious to why dosnt it go by General location. I suppose if it's the "perfect" person that shouldn't matter but that's kinda unrealistic. Maybe the general location of someone could at least be more obvious. Or do you have reason you decided to not involve this part? Is it more about finding someone your like extremely attracted to and going by location narrows the chances of that down or something?.Version: 4.5.0

New app needs more membersWhile this idea is good in theory due to the limited members if you are guy expect to still vote down a lot of members which seems like it is contrary to the whole point. You can add Shakira as your type but they are still going to show you everyone...I have had only 2 conversations on here and both people did not know what they were looking for. Members barely check this either so if it gets more members it can be viable but until then it is just another way of killing time that may pay off with 1 or 2 matches a month for guys..Version: 2.4.0

Lazy developersI think it’s incredibly stupid this app doesn’t display each persons city or even country, because I live in Canada and guys are “liking” me from the US. Huge oversight, definitely should have been included in the rollout of the app. I thought this app would be much more efficient in matching people up, based on the preview, however it’s way too basic. There’s many features that would be fairly simple to code in, that aren’t present and make for a really poor experience using the app. The way this app is marketed suggests it goes into more depth to match you up, but the only thing, literally one thing, it’s based on is appearances. It’s way more basic than every dating app I’ve seen, so to market it as an innovative way to match people is laughable..Version: 4.5.0

Ok so far, but…I’ve only used this app for a few days, so it seems ok so far. However, one thing that already bugs me is that there’s no location filter - like, unless you put your location in your About Me section, you’re matching with people anywhere in the country. Maybe some people are ok with that, but I would really prefer to a location filter..Version: 5.0.0

First time install and already error on appI saw an add on insta installed the app and tried to register via mobile number already error. Lol why did you even created this app.Version: 7.6.0
