Bookshelf: Reading Tracker for Positive User Reviews

Five StarsOnly I wish you get further than 3 reading sessions a week without purchasing premium.Version: 2.12.6

LOVE ITIt really helps me and shoes me how long each page took to read and how long i read for, It shows what i’m reading and everything like that.Version: 2.7.6

Easy to useSuper easy to use add books and etc. I don’t use the reading time part (yet?) but it’s quite interesting. The UI is great, good size of covers and etc. highly recommend for a simple way to track books and reading..Version: 2.13.0

App is Great/Prices Are QuestionableThe app is good! And it’s the only book app I’ve found that tells me how long it’ll take for me to finish said book. The prices are a little high though, at least compared to other apps. 5 dollars for a monthly subscription, 30 for yearly and 45 for lifetime? I only logged 3 sessions and it’s already telling me to upgrade. I’ve only ever paid a max of 20 dollars for an app, and I was allowed a good month to test it out. Idk. I could be convinced to pay the 45 for lifetime, but the 7 day trial is not enough for me to see how it fits in my life. I get busy!.Version: 2.5.6

Great Way to Summarize Key TakeawaysI have long looked for a good way to summarize my learning when I read nonfiction books. Up until I discovered this app, I went about it in a haphazard, unorganized manner. This app helps me keep track of the books I read, and fully organize the information I want to retain and refer back to in the future..Version: 1.4.2

Great, love this appGreat.Version: 2.1.0

Great Book Tracking AppI was looking for the perfect book tracking app but every app I came across had parts of what I was looking for but always had something missing. This app does it all for me. It’s great for keeping track of reading stats, a list of all books I want to read, am currently reading and have finished reading. The explore sections makes it very easy to search for books I’m interested in and easily add them to my library list. Also love that I can add quotes and notes for each book. The layout of the app is simplistic which was also what I was looking for. Other apps seemed to over complicate everything and looked cluttered. Lastly, the developer of this app has been brilliant. I had a couple of questions after downloading it and was able to contact them via the app. They responded to all my emails very quickly and was very helpful..Version: 2.2.3

I love itI love how ir is a free app and you can upload as many book as you want unlike other apps.I also love how you can add your favourite quotes or summaries the chapters!.Version: 2.7.6

Such a lovely book companionThe design of this app is really crafted. It allows you to keep a record of your reading and the books you want to read. Very minimalist in its ux, it doesn’t feel like an onerous effort to record what you read. Have looked at similar apps over the years but this is way beyond..Version: 2.14.2

A Fantastic AppI’m a book blogger and new to this app. I read a mix of Advanced Reader Copies and Backlist as well as new releases a month. I loved that this app had the books I’m reading as Advanced Copies. I also love the note cards, as I’m not one that writes down quotes I want to remember, now I can just put them on a note card. I love the quizzes option, although I haven’t tried it yet. I’m also a big fan of the stats it gives you. I took a star out of the rating because in my phone the app stopped working. I press it, but it never opens. Luckily I was able to restore my purchase of Gold for the year on my IPad which seems to work great. Oh! Also, I love how this app has a timer or just let’s you read if you don’t want to set a timer, or if you want to keep reading..Version: 2.5.0

Good for tracking but lots of bugs with the appI love tracking my reading but I have been having a lot of problems with bugs in the app. I can’t see my stats, every time I go to that tab it freezes the entire app and I have to force quit. Some books it won’t allow me to update the page that I’m on. Just small issues like that. I’m afraid to delete the app and redownload because I will lose my data (already lost 3 months of data).Version: 2.14.2

Nice little app...!Edit: Syncing issue has been fixed. Great swift response, thank you. 👍 Great app for keeping track of books you’ve read and displaying them in bookshelf-type format. But since the latest update the app keeps crashing when I click Profile - hope the developer is able to see this as I’m sure it’s just a bug. Otherwise great app 👍.Version: 2.2.3

Great app, I just have one little thingI personally love the app, and have been using for a while now. If what I say bugs me doesn’t bother you, than you should definitely get this app. The one thing that bugs me is that you can’t sort the books in a custom order like other apps let you. I would give this app 5 stars if I was able to custom sort my library..Version: 2.12.0

Really good app! Disappointing widget..I found this app awhile back and immediately loved the UI & functionality. After getting the hang of the app, I decided to really start adding my different collections of books. As someone with ADHD, organization is a biggie for me (I’m really meticulous about my Home Screen layout). I’ve come to find out that the widget is totally inactive for me. None of my ‘currently reading’ books display in the widget but I would still give the app a strong 4 stars! If you get a chance to read this, I’d appreciate suggestions on how to maybe get the widget to work. Thanks!.Version: 2.5.5

The best books app I ownIt reminds me of the app that I use to read books, and the reminders are so nice and not often so it’s not overwhelming. The reminders actually make me want to read rather than turn my reminders off..Version: 2.12.6

Fantastic, but I think I might’ve found a bug.I discovered this application, believe it, or not through an ad on Facebook. I decided to give it a whirl, considering I like to sort of keep track of my reading library. The problem is whenever I go to start a reading session, the application will crash right when I get onto the next screen. I’m on the latest beta version of iOS 17..Version: 2.14.2

Great app, a few minor bugsI love this app! It’s great for tracking the books I’ve read, keeping up with my yearly goal, and having my TBR in one place. The database of books is very complete, and I like that you can upload your own cover photo. It is also VERY accurate with estimating the time left in a book based on previous reading sessions. The most recent update gives it a beautiful new interface and some new stats to look into, however there are some bugs. - One: when you finish a reading session, it does not automatically update the time left in the book. You have to exit out to the home page and reopen the book for the reading session to even show up. - Two: The daily page count chart does not seem accurate. I’ve read 194 pages in my current book, yet the chart shows I read 300+ pages yesterday alone. Not sure where it’s getting that data from. Overall, even despite these bugs, it’s a really nice app and a really great way to keep track of reading..Version: 2.7.6

The App I’ve been waiting forThis is exactly what I needed. A simple and elegant way to track my wish list reading, and progress through books. I love how the interface looks just like the Apple products, sometimes I forget I’m not in an iPhone book app made by Apple developers. The feeling of checking off a book as finished is great! Building up a virtual library of knowledge:) thank you!.Version: 2.0.0

Love this App so much!!Not only can you track the books you have read and are set on reading in the future, BUT, you can now have reading sessions where you can track the time you read (through the app you don’t have to watch a clock and record it) and how many pages!! This is AMAZING for me. You can also of course rate the books and record notes about them as before. The new update has thoroughly wowed me! My favorite new feature is probably the data you get through the reading sessions!.Version: 2.1.0

The app I use every hour of the dayJust signed up today for the 7 day trial but I already know I’ll be a yearly subscriber. The interface is so clean and attractive, easy to work, and I LOVE the reading timer and the stats that go along with it. Also, I love how you can edit the total page count to match the version of the book you have. Other library management apps don’t have that feature!.Version: 2.14.0

Great: Widgets on the HomescreenThe app is great! I love it! What would make it better is Widgets on the home screen..Version: 2.13.3

Perfect book collecting and reading appThis app has a great UI and as a collector helps me keep on top of what I have. I’m also surprised by how much more it makes me read by using the “reading now” feature..Version: 2.12.6

Respectful designThank you for allowing users to jump right into using the app without needing to make an account or otherwise give personal information. I was trying out a few book-tracking apps but when I saw that, it immediately made me want to stick with this app..Version: 2.10.3

StatsI am disappointed with the new update to the stats. I much preferred the old way of displaying them. I found it easier and much more pleasant to compare the number of books between months and even years and which we would have more flexibility as to what stats we want showing..Version: 2.9

Amazing but priceyThe app is absolutely amazing but the subscription is quite expensive..Version: 2.12.6

Beautiful & simpleA great app which delivers it’s simple functionality in a minimal yet delightful way. I am particularly fond of apps that do one thing and execute it well. The recent addition of iCloud syncing has ensured this will be an app I will continue to use in the future. Thanks to the dev for making their great work on this project available free of charge. I would happily pay for it..Version: 1.4

This is itI have been looking for YEARS for an app, website, platform, anything like this. I read a lot of manga, well over 2000 mangas, manhwas, webtoons, comics, ect. Since they're across different platforms and apps, it’s really hard to keep track of ones i’ve read in one place. Especially ones that are pretty obscure, they don’t show up on normal manga trackers and often, they don’t let you add your own. being able to add the manga i’ve read with the cover, description, author, rating, ect. is so perfect. i’ve tried everything under the sun to try and record my mangas but there’s always something wrong with what i was using. this app has literally everything. ratings, unlimited characters for description, page number, categories, and such good organizational structure. so worth it..Version: 2.10.2

Well developed, functional, and polishedFeature request: Please add a feature where I can import screenshots and use OCR to get the text from a screenshot (when adding a “Note”). Right now, I can use the camera to add text from a book, but what if I’m reading an e-book on my phone? I can’t take a picture of my phone.. unless I get another phone 😂 I spent weeks looking for an app that would help me track my reading, and this has been by far the best one. It has all the features I want, without the burden of being tied down with a subscription. If this app ever adds a subscription model, I’m out!.Version: 2.5.1

Amazing appI’ve been searching for a book tracking app that has everything I want and this was the one I landed on. I immediately bought the lifetime use solely because this was the only app I could find with everything I’ve been looking for. That being said there are a couple things I wish were included such as: an option to batch scan books into the app, being able to look at stats for specific years (current options are weekly stats and all time), and being able to add pictures into the notes (I read a lot of manga and wish I could insert pictures of my favorite panels). There was also one problem I encountered with tracking audiobooks. You have to manually put in the time in minutes your audiobooks are but when you do that the app doesn’t correctly translate that into hours. Example: I had a 12 hour audiobook and put it that it is 720 minutes and then the app translated that into 24 hours. Normally this wouldn’t be a big issue because I’d just alter the minutes until it’s correct but then when you’re timing reading sessions it makes the stats wrong. Although I think there are some things that could be added, this app is amazing and I will continue to use it for tracking my reading😊.Version: 2.5.4

Love this appIt’s exactly what I needed to up my game in reading as well building the habit in general. One of the first books I read was atomic habits and the stats this app offers along with the way I designed my Home Screen with the widget this app offers is what I need to keep these small habits in mind and building a chain. I usually don’t write reviews but love this app a lot already. Thanks.Version: 2.14.2

So much potential!I’ve been searching for an app like this for ages! There are a few UI bugs on the book screen (I’m using an iPhone X) which stops is from getting a five stars but it’s not far off. And the potential is huge. Excited about recommendations and a public reading list (shared on the web). Good work!.Version: 1.3.1

Everything I wanted! This checked all my boxes. The unlimited books capability blew me away. Even just using the free version was awesome. I was able to track start & finish dates. Which is all I wanted initially. But after further inspection, I found you can log an entire reading section. The only criticism I have is the limited amount of collections you can have on the free version (which is 3). But I understand why it’s limited, however other competitors don’t have this particular restriction. So this is something to take into consideration. NOW I am going to discuss the gold benefits. The shake to choose is my FAVORITE thing about this app. I have enjoyed that the most since purchasing. Unlocking the additional collections was beneficial as well for me. All in all this is a solid app & I chose this one compared to any other apps on the market..Version: 2.13.3

This app is great!I love the set up and ease this app has! My only issue is that I wish there was a “Did not finish” option. There are books that I didn’t finish for one reason or another that I want to keep track of, but don’t want them counted as a book I’ve read. Currently I have a DNF collection, but I cannot remove it from the read collection with out removing it from my library completely. If this feature could be added that would be amazing!.Version: 2.5.0

Incredible AppAs an avid reader I used to have all my lists and notes in Notion but wanted a dedicated app with some nice features. I tried a few others and they just didn’t hit the spot but bookmark is beautiful and it’s nice to support Solo Indie developers (i hope this is still the case) Highly recommend and not a big yearly fee either.Version: 2.10.3

Fresh Interface with some flawsI really like this app. Aesthetically, it’s very pleasing and simple, with a modern streamlined approach to capturing your reading habits through stats and building a virtual library with all the books you want to read/have read in one place. It’s the most user friendly I’ve tested, though I did find the free version limiting so this is one worth investing in the lifetime cost, even if it’s a little steep up front. I also appreciate that the “about” section of a book is fully customisable. Reading mode will give you an eta on how long you have to finish the book, which can be toggled between pages/percent/time. Here’s where I find the app has a few flaws: - I wasn’t able to find the audiobook I was listening to in the online search, so entered manually. Selecting “time” in the progress type would for some reason revert to the page count until it just updated itself. - When in reading mode, there’s an “add note” section however it converts to a flash card, not a note, which then is saved in a completely different section of the app and not really with the corresponding book. I had to finish my session first then go add the note I wanted to make, which kind of defeats the purpose. - Which leads me to my next gripe - I hate the “cards” and the “quizzes” part of this app. I wish this was a feature you could toggle off, as aside from wanting to just jot down real time notes of what I’m reading, it serves no purpose for me and it takes away the attention from the more important aspects of the app. - When in collections, my books don’t stay in date order for when I started reading them, despite having toggled by reading status. Kind of frustrating when I want them all in month by month order. Overall, for anyone wanting to record what they’re reading in an app, have a handy way to add books to a tbr (there’s an isbn scanner which is fab!), and track trends of how you read, this is a great app for you to use..Version: 2.5.3

Brilliant!Incredible app! Best one out there by a long way! The only thing that I would like to be able to do is share my bookshelf with others and vice versa :).Version: 2.12.5

Love This AppI’ve been through a whole heap of book apps trying to find an app that lets me takes notes and group my books into collections and series. It has every single book I have read, definitely love the creator for it..Version: 2.14.2

Great app if you are willing to spend the moneyThis app is perfect for all of my fellow book nerds who needs to organize their personal library and placeing them in deferent categories to help better you library. Also you can set a yearly goal and reminders to read X amount of time/pages per day and can show you how long your read number of badges per hour and many other cool statistics. But there is a down side you have to pay to time your reading if you use the timed reading more than three times a week which at first was crazy to think about why should I pay to do something I can do for free? Well when push comes to shove I will pay the fee so I can know more about what I’m reading and how I can improve it..Version: 2.13.3

Big fanI really like this app. It’s easy to use, there’s a good amount of extra features like stats but not too much that the app feels overwhelming. One thing I would love to see added is the ability to keep track of re-reads on a book. For example, if I read a book in 2023 then it’ll be part of my stats for 2023 but if I reread in 2024, it’ll move it from 2023 to 2024. It’d be good if there was a way to keep the 2023 and 2024 entries. Otherwise, a really great app!.Version: 2.13.2

Bookshelf is better that GoodReads!Bookshelf is by far better than GoodReads! The app itself is so much easier to use than GR. It has the same technology GR has with things like your yearly goal and tracking and time tracking! It is amazing! It also estimates how long it would take you to read the book if you read it strait down! I love the app and will never have another one!.Version: 2.13.3

My favourite appI love to do lists and checking things off. This app is a way to do that with my reading in a beautifully aesthetic way. I’ve recommended it to so many people!.Version: 2.4.3

Just what I needed! This app provided everything I was looking for. Frankly, I mainly use it to log my finished books, but I have gotten into using reading mode recently. While “Gold” does seem to have a few nice features, the free version works just fine for what I need. Thanks for an amazing app! 😊.Version: 2.5.3

Great app and brilliant customer serviceI have had this app for years. Personally I use it to keep track of all my textbooks, add reading notes etc. when I needed to contact the creator of the app, they were very prompt to reply, and very friendly. The only thing I would like is the ability to add where a book is located, eg is it on kindle app, Apple Books, have I loaned it to someone, that sort of thing, but this isn’t enough to knock off a star..Version: 2.8.2

Amazing!Easy to use app that tracks what I’ve read - I love the use of dates and star ratings for easy access to all my books. One little grumble though, the books can now only be ordered by rating, or by author etc.. and I much preferred when it was by date read so I could easily see what I’d read and in what order!.Version: 2.5.4

My Favorite Book Tracking AppI bought the lifetime membership and haven’t looked back! I’m always engaged when I read now with the tracker. I love keeping notes in the app to help me remember books as I’m a slow reader. Also the AI book recommendation tool is so much better than other recommendation apps I’ve used..Version: 2.8.4

Really great appHas pretty much everything I could every think of that the app could need. Great for sharing, keeping track and reminding yourself of the books you’ve read. Few things to mention that I’ve found that when I add a book published by Penguin into the library there is always a fault with the image. Also, would be cool to have the ability to input page numbers to keep track, the option for reading reminders and the ability to sort the main library in other ways. All in all a superb app; very clean interface and incredibly easy to use..Version: 1.3.1

Has got me more motivated to read!!I love this app. The layout is lovely and has helped me stay reach the daily reading goal I’ve set myself 🤍 I do wish there was a widget for it as it can be a little fussy getting comfy then opening the app to start or pause the book timer when I’m reading to try stay away from my phone. Just one tap or command for Siri would be easier. Can’t wait to see this app grow ⭐️.Version: 2.7.3

Would recommendExpensive for what it is, but worth it..Version: 2.12.6

Best I’ve foundJust spent the last few hours trying out a number of reading tracking/book cataloguing apps - this one I liked the best for a number of reasons. It has everything I need, a great user experience, nice look and feel, and not as clunky as some of the others. Easy to navigate my books. Add in a wish list catalogue. Time how often I’m reading. Especially love the flash card feature. ISBN book look up is quick. Speech recognition on notes. And loads more features. This will really support my goal to read and remember more books this year. I also like to see they are updating with new features regularly too. Thanks for the hard work put into the app! Much appreciated l..Version: 2.9

Good, but issues with saving must be fixedThis app is great for me to record the books I’ve read and remember the key content for later. I’ve had some issues with filling out Key Takeaways, which often doesn’t save what I’ve written when I come back to it later. This app has great potential but I need the security that what I’ve written isn’t going to disappear..Version: 1.5.1

Love the widgetHello, first thing I would like to say is that I downloaded the app and wanted to review and couldn't find it in search. The app on the phone says “Booka” but the app in the store says “Bookshelf: reading tracker” so I was a bit confused. I love the user interface and simplicity of this app - one of the better reading apps I’ve found for this. I love the widget and I’m so happy it’s in black. I hate the blue color the Kindle widget has. That’s why I downloaded this. Feedback: Is it possible for the app to sync with Kindle so that it auto-updates with my pages? Not sure how compatible Kindle is with syncing to other apps, just something I would enjoy..Version: 2.5.2

Wish I Made More MoneyI would prefer if there was less restricted by the paywall. I get why and I’m not gonna hold that against the app thus the four stars, but you can only use the features that are actually handy about twice a week and when I read 7 days a week but it is not reflected it’s a bit disappointing but that’s my only complaint..Version: 2.12.4

Incredible!I love this app. It has helped me stay on track with my reading and has helped me track everything over the past few months. I’ve been reading more and have been able to see what my reading speed is and how far I’ve gone through each book. The only problems that I have run into is that I’ll occasionally still get a prompt to pay for the lifetime version even though I already have it and the full perks, and sometimes my streak will mess up and restart even if I’ve tracked my reading for the day, which can be a little disappointing. However, I know that sometimes it happens. I recommend this app to other people and I genuinely enjoy using it. I’m so glad that I found it!.Version: 2.14.1

Great Work by Developer but Some Missing FeaturesAlex is incredibly responsive; after a recent update I started to have issues with the app crashing. After less than 24 hours, Alexander had released a new update with fixes, as well as replied to my email to let me know!!! Thanks again, Alexander. I use this app daily and do quite enjoy it, however I need to see the ability to add multiple dates read as I often re-read titles, would like to track that to have it count towards my reading goals. There are a few other minor issues; copy & pasting quotes/notes makes the text appear in a white block, but if you go to share it you can see the text again. But I still find the app worth it :).Version: 2.12.1

Fantastic app for book collectorsReally great app for book collectors. Easy to use and navigate. I’d love a calendar feature added where users can add dates of upcoming book releases!.Version: 2.14.2

Love this appMy favorite things about this app is that I can easily scan the details through the barcode and add it to my library instantly. Not even Goodreads can do that. I believe it can, but if not it would be cool for it to randomly pick out a book from your ‘want to read list’.Version: 2.12.6

Looks pretty nice to meCongrats on your first app launch. Sorry accidentally rated 2/5..Version: 1.4

Best app I ever usedI just wanted to say how much I love this app! I downloaded bunch of different apps to try out which one was the best and this one was my most favourite! It’s easy to use, very clean design and I can track my reading and see how many books I have read. 10/10 recommended it :).Version: 2.3.1

Handy app but saving feature needs fixingThis has been a lifesaver, I don’t always have the best memory when it comes to all the books I’ve read so it’s perfect to keep all my notes and favourite quotes. However, sometimes I’d write a lengthy note or summary and it doesn’t save! Please fix this as it’s time consuming to re-write the notes. Also I hate how I click to add words to the bottom of a note and it automatically scrolls to the top. It would be great if I click at the end of the paragraph and the cursor stays there so I can just type uninterrupted..Version: 2.4.2

Incredible app, but…Honestly the best app for reading tracking, but it would be amazing to be able to write book reviews, and read others’ reviews too. Maybe it’s already available as a feature but I cannot find it? Will give 5 stars after that feature is implemented :-) keep the good work!.Version: 2.11.0

How to rate books..?I love the app it's great. The app has a feature where you can ask AI questions about the book, as I get confused a bit when I read a book that has a complicated storyline. Nevertheless, I do wish I knew how to rate the books. I know it is a feature in the app I think…? but I do not know for the life of me, how to rate the books so I wish there was a help page or button on the app that could help. However, I love the app it is incredible, it organizes the book into categories as I just never know which one to put them in myself. As well as the authors being automatically placed or sorted made me realise I read a lot of books by the same author. The widgets are soo cute too. Overall it is a lovely app just wish I knew how to rate the books..Version: 2.13.0

The app is good.I just got it would 100% recommend ❤️.Version: 2.10.7

WowAmazing app.Version: 2.11.2

Amazing!I love reading but, I often get the plots of different books mixed up because I read so many of them. I’m so glad to have a place to store information about the books I’m reading/ have read..Version: 1.5.1

Best app I’ve found, 8.5/10Okay so I have tried SO MANY apps and this is the only one I’ve stuck with. I am in love with the unlimited books feature, most apps make you pay for that so this makes this app stick out at the top of the list! My *only* critique is with the quotes system. The only thing I would like to see, is the ability to add a page number section to the card, that way I could sort my quotes by page numbers. Other then that I love this app! It is so easy to add books to a collection and change their status. Also it’s really easy to log read time and add notes about the book. I only wish that I could add more quotes and log more sessions without having to buy something. I’m not asking for unlimited, just a higher amount, but as someone who prefers digital to paper notes, it’s frustrating only getting 20 free notes and 3 reading sessions a week. Still, this is a lovely app and I love how involved the developer is..Version: 2.10.0

A Good App But Has Room For ImprovementThe app is good but after importing my goodreads library I’ve had to spend hours fixing and reorganizing things. The main problem is it not importing covers for books and I’m having a hard time organizing authors since they aren’t in alphabetical order. Eventually I’d like to organize my books into series but this would be much easier if this app was able to show me all the books in a series in order..Version: 2.12.3
