Driving Theory by James May for Positive User Reviews

Fun and interesting! Not nearly as dreary as reading the book! It is an entertaining way to study for driving tests! It works too! The test was much easier thanks to time spent on the app. Thanks!!!.Version: 1.4.17

Revised for 10 hours the day before my test and passed with this appNow I wouldn’t recommend only revising the day before your test, but I had got the dates mixed up and only realised the day before. I could have paid a fee to change it, but thought I may as well give it a go. I downloaded this app and revised all day. I felt like my head was going to explode and my hand was going to fall off from holding my phone but it worked and I aced the test. It’s very user friendly, and most of the questions I practiced were also in the test. The hazard perception practice was incredibly helpful and also very similar to the test itself. I would definitely recommend using this app..Version: 1.4.41

£4.99 Totally Worth It!I have been struggling with the Theory Test for some time now but since I purchased this app has totally changed my knowledge with the theory test and it does help 100%. Due to having Dyslexia I found it very difficult to use other apps and the books to revise quite difficult but after also finding this app been very helpful. This app by James May has giving me confidence to get back at my theory after having a long break due to multiple fails. All the information along with the hazards perception test in here too is very helpful. I’m using this app a lot during the day and also night when I can’t sleep just to keep my brain active..Version: 1.2.4

Amazing!!!This app is honestly the best money you’ll spend! It’s set up is so helpful, easy to follow and clever because every time you get a wrong answer, it tells you straight away with the correct answer and that question will come up more often in the tests, making you more likely to get it right next time! The games were also really beneficial and makes it easier to remember information you need. Do yourself a favour and download this app-I passed first time because of this app when I really didn’t think I would :).Version: 1.3.9

Felt ready, confident and passed!!!I wish I knew about this app a couple of years ago when I was starting my driving journey. Every app I’ve used to revised my theory test were not helpful at all and was always failing. But this app is great, when you put your test date it will advise when you should start training either once or twice everyday. The material change all the time so you learn different things everyday. I am happy to say I passed first time after using this app and it is worth every penny. Thank you James May and his team to creating such an amazing app🙌🏾.Version: 1.4.42

The best app to getThis app helped me to pass first time! It’s better than any book or other app I tried (sorry, DVLA). It holds you accountable and helps you keep track of your progress. The hazard perception videos were similar to what was in the actual test. In the multiple choice section of my actual test, I recognised most of the questions and only messed up on a couple of them! If there were any improvements to be made to this app, I would suggest two things: 1) More information on stopping/braking distances. Even though there was an explanation video, I think there could be a chart/diagram to show all of the stopping distances in dry conditions and with the different speeds so that it’s easier to remember/see. 2) A lot of the signpost questions in particular focus on signs specific to England and Wales. I live in Scotland so I think it would be good if there was more variety so that I know what to expect!.Version: 1.4.18

I passedI passed, which was a shock as although I did revise, I didn’t do more than an hour and a half the odd day, but I started off and on last year, I didn’t rush. I found doing too much wiped my brain of all of my knowledge and progress. James made the app fun, not too serious, loads of tips, hints and games, plus I found it easy to follow even with my autism and learning difficulties. Now I’m 51, so if I can do it, so can you the reader. Just to let you know, I had about 2/3 questions from the app in my multiple choice and about 4 videos with my hazard test, the rest I’d never seen before, so revise, revise and revise, and common sense is a big thing on your real theory. Good luck my James May app friends, you can do it.m, smash it. And a big big thank you again to James May OXOXOXO.Version: 1.4.46

Amazing! hazard perception confusion thoughI love this app, I’ve been procrastinating for a couple years now about driving and every time I go to do theory I have a frustration nap but this app is weirdly addictive? James May’s inputs of dad humour keep it fresh and fun. My only issue is hazard perception, I keep scoring 0 because I click the developing hazard too early! It gives you 5 seconds from when it appears to when it makes you take action so for the life of me, I can’t figure out how I’m not getting the points if I’m clicking as soon as I’m aware it’s a potential hazard. Still my favourite theory source I’ve found though!.Version: 1.4.1

Childhood can create futures!James may, mr slow. Or as Clarkson would simply say “MAYYYYYY” He’s always been one of my favourite presenters and I’m so thankful he was placed in to create a DVLA driving theory (including addon of practical: I haven’t done that yet) I’m so glad James was asked to make this. Not Hammond for many reasons. But since I first started to watch the “setting off” video clip I was hooked. It may have been from those witty mediocre dark humoured joke which wouldn’t offend anyone unless your unsophisticated. On the 22nd of January 2023 I took the first step the first quiz. Mind you it’s mostly common sense but James explained it simply and interestingly. I didn’t have too listen to an AI voice sounding like they want to absolutely annihilate themselves while listening to a podcast by Katy Hopkins. James shows interest, like he showed in toy stories or his adventures with Oz Clarke. If you want to learn theory and enjoy the prcoess this is he app. Since 22nd January and now on the 7th of February I can now officially say prior to 9am. I have passsed my theory. I hope you take this advice, you certainly will love this app..Version: 1.4.24

Passed First Time! This app is truly amazing, and helped me pass first time with absolute confidence. The tests prepare you well for the actual day. There’s only one aspect of the app I wish could be improved. I wish there was a way of downloading some, if not all of the hazard perception test videos to your phone. It is currently very limiting as to where you can practise and it requires a strong internet connection throughout. I would practise on the train, but would have it to wait until I completed the hazard perception part. That being, said it helped me pass first time, which is the most important..Version: 1.4.45

Superb AppGiven the climate I had limited choice in test dates and took the first available. This happened to be only 2 weeks away. Whilst I don’t recommend sitting your test on short notice the James May app was superb and simply a common sense approach to learning. The reminders to practice are handy if like me you’d forget your head if it wasn’t attached. The videos explaining the tests and what you may have done wrong and James talking you through the tips is very handy. Working toward the different badges also keeps you motivated. Pleased to say I past first time, even if I did find myself taking to myself in James Mays voice throughout the hazard perception part! I would highly recommend using this App. Well done all involved..Version: 1.2.8

Hazard perception tests are not fit for purposeIt’s impossible to know when to click the screen upon spotting a hazard. When you get your feedback, it talks you through the route, but doesn’t specifically tell you what qualifies as a hazard and what doesn’t, nor does it tell you which hazards you have and haven’t identified. There isn’t even a counter on screen to show you the hazards accruing as you go. Often, I have spotted all of the hazards identified and the speaker has the same thought process as I do, which I’ve clicked, though clearly it was too soon or too late. No indication given about when you should click upon seeing the hazard. My outcomes in this portion of the test is all over the show, but I have no guidelines for improvement. Absolutely no idea how to get better at this part, though my performance on the other sections are improving steadily..Version: 1.2.4

Very well designed appBy far the best app for prepping for your theory test. It’s very well designed, easy to use, and has all the information you need. Passed my theory test on the first try..Version: 1.4.45

Brilliant app - Passed first timeThis app is absolutely brilliant. I was recommended it by a police officer just a few days before my test. I wasn’t hopeful on passing because I only revised for around 3 hours in total before my actual test. Took my test today and passed, with 47/50 on the multiple choice. Without this app, I can guarantee you I wouldn’t have done so well. It is designed very well. The interface itself is visually appealing and not some boring two tone screen. It is very well sectioned out such as ‘Train’, ‘The James May Way’ and Road signs etc. All of which entail a different way of learning. The training is a layered way of learning and it tests a whole range of different questions, need-to-knows and hazard perception. The James May Way allows you to really focus on your weak points to ensure you aren’t left with a poor understanding of them. You can also access tens of videos of hazard perception in each category for example ‘Bigger Roads’ or ‘Dangerous conditions’. You can revisit the ones you aren’t sure on whenever you like. All in all, this app was extremely helpful and it is definitely worth the money. If it helped me pass first time with around 3 hours of using it, I’m sure it’ll help you too..Version: 1.2.5

Best app!!Brought this app a couple months ago after reading all the reviews. Possibly the best app to learn! Although I didn’t pass first time due to no fault of my own as I wasn’t using the app as much as it was suggesting me to. As soon as booked another theory test I started to use it everyday until I had my 2nd test and because this app helped me to gain knowledge I passed! This app lets you take in everything you need to know very quickly in the most easiest way possible! Would 100% recommend. I also brought the £2.99 add on for the practical and hopefully I can past first time!.Version: 1.4.39

The only app you need!I downloaded several other theory test apps but after I discovered this one, I didn’t bother with those anymore. The James May app is well worth your money. It’s an easy to use and enjoyable method, offering the satisfaction of playing a game. I loved listening to James commenting on the hazard perception videos afterwards, and the way that your answer lights up green if you get it correct. One improvement that could be made: the option to turn off the delay in seeing the multiple choice answers for all questions, not just for each individual one, which gets tiresome..Version: 1.4.14

Quality app hosted by a legendThis app is excellent, I only downloaded it a week before my test and it prepared me very well (I passed 1st time). The quizzes are well organised and use spaced repetition to make sure you remember the information. The perception videos are accompanied by commentary by May and an indication of when to click (not too early and not too late). My only point here is that there should be more of these videos, but this is only a minor issue. Overall, this is an excellent app and May makes a big difference- he is clear, concise and funny. If you’re doing your theory, get this app..Version: 1.4.5

Really good appReally good app, helped me pass my theory. Really liked the sections, easy app and nice UI, never encountered any bugs. I have a couple of suggestions that I wish were available in the app, but this isn’t me saying it’s bad. Just some potential ideas for devs to make it even better. - Ability to select ‘warm up questions’ and the shorter ‘3 hazard perception clips’ more than once, rather than just ‘once’ per round of four in the training plan If you just want to do the warm up questions, or just the shorter 3 random hazard perception clips, you have to go through the entire four sections of training. Wish there was an option to just to select these individually somewhere. I like having the three random hazard perception clips, rather than just clicking through a category and selecting a clip myself. Same with the random shorter quizzes. - More variation in road sign testing Wish there was more variety in the sign testing area. In the sense of, if you want questions like ‘where would you find this sign’, you have to get it through the random quiz or mock test. Again, just suggestions! But great app 👍.Version: 1.4.2

Lives up to expectations!I booked my theory test about 3 weeks ago and needed a simple to use app to help me learn the ropes, I was browsing the App Store and came along this app, the reviews were amazing and given it was made by an icon of my childhood I thought I’d give it a shot. The app certainly met my expectations, it personalised a training program for me so I’d know everything in time and the resources were easy to use and understand, admittedly I did find myself questioning some of the hazard perception results I got but overall the experience was amazing. Thanks to the app, I passed my theory test first time and for that I can’t recommend it enough to anyone else looking to learn for their test!.Version: 1.4.45

Refreshingly modern design though lacking a few featuresI originally bought this app while it was discounted and used it for a few weeks. I also had more popular 4 in 1 theory test app so I can make a thorough comparison. WHERE THIS APP IS BETTER - much more modern design, very clean interface - the learning algorithms seem to be a bit more intelligent here - the developers respond to feedback (eg. Adding the scoring notes to the hazard perception videos) - achievements add some fun to the learning process - the James May videos are gimmicky but fun and helpful for some topics WHERE THIS APP ISN'T AS GOOD - doesn't work on iPad very well at all - downloading videos sometimes doesn't work - only the 30 or so CGI videos are included, unlike the 4-in-1 app which has another 100 real life videos - still includes a stopping distance section even though it is no longer assessed directly - no "pass guarantee", though that might just be more of a marketing tactic of the other app.Version: 1.4.16

The Best Driving Theory AppThe personable approach of this app coupled with the down to earth and straight forward no nonsense teaching style of James May is what puts this app above the rest, allowing me to pass first time. Where other apps feel faceless or lack personality that aids your learning, this app thrives while featuring more personal videos that actually explain topic areas clearly, enhanced by a dash humour that is, James May - our man in… the… van? The app is well developed and designed too. My only suggestion at the time of writing would be to add more hazard perception videos, as practice eventually turns into a memory game. However this is probably more a limitation of what of the official pool of videos they’re allowed to use and will is a natural problem depending on how often you practice. That said, there’s still a decent amount. Common sense is the theme on which this app stands and unlike others that actually comes across here (not just because James literally says it). It’s this understanding that allows you to stop overthinking about these questions and more likely to not only learn them but remember them while on the road, because after all, it is only common sense. So yeah if you couldn’t tell, I highly recommend this app..Version: 1.4.4

Passed first time solely thanks to this app!I had been using the ‘training’ sessions to revise casually when I had a while to go until my test. The week it came around I panicked and went through every section in the ‘James May Way’ and completed it 100%. The achievement badges were a nice touch and my confidence grew and I began to think I was in with a chance. Took the test this morning, and passed with great results! The only thing I’ll mention is that in the hazard perception section, I was so used to clicking on the actual hazard in the app that when it came to the real thing, the fact that you just had to click in general threw me off a bit - but it was easy to adjust. A simple but thorough, highly effective app. I owe my pass to it entirely! :).Version: 1.4.18

Use this app and you will passA Really clever and well made app . By actually having a suggested training plan I.e 2 sessions a day for a test in 6 weeks , the app gives you a realistic and achievable target . The algorithms go over things you haven’t yet grasped until you get them . It works ! A session will only last you 10 minutes or so . I used it twice a day on the train to and from work for 5 weeks , a much better use of time than scrolling on Instagram . Passed first time today as I expected to do so . Who better to get you ready for the road than May ? Follow the plan and pass your test . Highly recommended ..Version: 1.2.9

AmazingUsed this as I failed the first time, spent 5 hours on the app the day before and only got one question wrong on the test. Would recommend as you can set up a training plan and the sections are easy to work on. The “James May way” section of the app is the best part as you can just answer the questions you’re not sure about in each category. I would recommend it if you’re planning on cramming the day before or even if you’re a bit more organised than me and you want to learn over a longer period of time.Version: 1.4.0

Great! But…I failed the first time, but only by literally 2 points on the multiple choice and I hardly revised. So on the second attempt I made sure to do at least a sessions a day for 5 days and I passed. As far as questions it’s great only a thew (5-7) on the actual test that wasn’t on this app but I guess they can’t get them all 100%. Only downside is James May who says I’m crap if I get 40/50, if he’s so knowledgeable why didn’t he make the questions and app himself instead of saying “since you passed and are happy leave us a review” in the most sarcastic, infuriating way, while looking like he just had a stroke..Version: 1.4.14

It’s a good app but really glitchy today. The app is great, really like it and I’ve been using it for a while with no issues. Probably the best I’ve tried. Like how it works on repetition because I have the memory of a goldfish. However today it’s been glitching loads. I completed hazard perceptions and it’s doesn’t finish the last video and count your score at the end. Just sticks. Just sends you in a loop to complete the same set of 3 when you click out of it. So I can’t move forward with it onto a new training session. It’s also crashing in general a lot. Saying I’ve closed the app when I am still on it..Version: 1.2.6

Passed first time - again!I passed my car theory test pre covid, it had expired by the time I could afford lessons and I’m only just picking it back up. I used a different app back then, couldn’t tell you what it was. I remember thinking it was a bit clunky, but it did the job. Scrolling through tik tok I found James May’s driving theory account and this spurred me on to give the app a go, I’m very glad I did! The app is fantastic, works as it should and the training categories are fantastic and the mock tests and hazard perception were both brilliant. James’ attitude within the app is as you’d expect, slightly funny but of course - professional and honest. I passed first time using this for revision, I didn’t stick to the training plan and instead rinsed mock theory tests over and over again. Overall I am very pleased and I would highly recommend this app for new learners..Version: 1.4.47

10/10, PASSED MY THEORY WITH FLYING COLOURSOnly five minutes before I typed up this review, I literally walked out of the test centre with a very high pass. The way this app runs is almost identical to the way your actual theory exam works: I even had some of this apps hazard awareness videos show up in my exam so I knew exactly what was about to happen! The design is colourful and inviting, it runs smoothly with no glitches and the tutorial videos are presented by James May himself so there’s a lot of added humour to make it enjoyable where it would otherwise honestly be quite boring. TL;DR Get this app, it’s worth every penny!!!.Version: 1.4.6

I PASSED FIRST TIME WITH NO WRONG QUESTIONSI would like to thank James May and the developers for making an app that is so easy to navigate and learn from. I was extremely stressed to do my theory test a couple of months back but then I saw this app on the App Store. It changed everything, I went from getting around 30/50 to a couple of weeks on getting close to full marks. I went into the exam room confidently - this was thanks to the progress bar that tells you what you have ‘mastered’, and after this came out with full marks on the multiple choice questions. 50/50. The hazard perception part of the exam is just like what James explains, you have to click when you see a hazard develop, thanks to him I got around 55/75 for this part. Thank you James and the team! I couldn’t recommend this app more highly - it is absolutely amazing! Remember to keep calm and read the question carefully, you will all do amazing! 👌😀.Version: 1.2.5

Completed it mate.Passed the first time! Thanks to the help of this app which gives you an easy to follow training plan and notifications as a reminder that kept me coming back to practice. The number of questions you can be asked is huge and I’d attempted at using the DVLA app previously, its broken up into segments it’s not clear to follow and it’s off putting, like reading a text book. In fact I bought the app used it for a bit and left it for 2 years. The James May way sets it out clearly from the get go on a training plan based on the date of your test. I went from purchase to passing in 2 months - for me anyway you could probably do it quicker! Only feedback from me is Hazard Perception has room for improvement, the DVLA one reviews the clips in detail and where the flag should have been clicked to give you a better understanding, whereas in this app, you’re given a brief description from Mr May and sometimes left wondering when the correct time to click was, as it’s a small window, too early or too late - you’ve failed..Version: 1.2.8

Theory Test Triumph’sI've turned to this app twice because I couldn't pass my practical test within the two-year timeframe, mainly due to the long wait of six months between each practical test. However, this app proved invaluable, helping me pass both theory tests on my first attempt. It's updated, covering all the questions encountered on my test. The hazard perception test section offers valuable practice, including instructional videos guiding users on what to observe and when to click. I recommended this app to a friend who was also struggling to pass, and he succeeded with it too. Overall, it's the top app in its category, and I highly recommend it. Huge fan of Top Gear and James May too!.Version: 1.4.47

Thank you, James & app developers!!!Don’t hesitate: this app will help you pass! Rather than spending more money than it costs you to get this app on books or revision materials, it’s all right here. This app is the reason I passed first time without having to stress about whether I’ve done enough as that was already shown to me by the ‘% mastered’ levels it gives you for both the questions and hazard perceptions. Can’t recommend this app enough, such a simple, almost fun way of revising your theory test. Thank you, James and all of the app developers too! 😁👍.Version: 1.4.45

Feeling ready ( and I passed)Amazing, feeling very confident! ( this part was before I passed) Passed first time with 47/50 And on hazard perception 46/75 This app was a game changer as it gave me the chance to complete all 14/15 videos and have an overall score out of 75 without break and most other theory apps give a score per video whilst you had to exit and prepare the next. This way it prepared me for how it would be in my test which was extremely helpful as the pressure in the scenario could have been too much if it hadn’t already practiced in that scenario. I had took many mock tests and majority of the questions if not all had been ones I’ve seen whilst them on the app, just in a slightly different format ( on majority) even a few had the exact same. I completed my test in under 40 minutes due to how confident I felt on the multiple choice sector. Overall 5/5 and would recommend to a friend, going to buy the practical package too due to my success!.Version: 1.4.14

Passed first time, very easy to follow. I recommend !I Bought this app which was recommended to me from a mate and it’s quality, passed first time with about 3 weeks of revision, doing revision every day for about an hour. I recommend doing 2 training sessions a day and 10 question quizzes from the “James may way” section on a few of the subjects, also with the stop sign section. Don’t over do mock tests, do them when you want but on the week of your test start to do them a lot as they cover everything you would’ve been revising, and you can get a good idea on how well you will do on the test. The hazard perception videos are very useful as well. Good luck on your test!.Version: 1.4.5

Easy and fun to useI studied using the app as a way to destress and fall asleep before bed. I studied intensively for three weeks straight and passed with confidence.Version: 1.4.39

Amazing !!I used this app for about a month and it really helped. One good aspect about the app, was that you could mock test hazard perception, which really helped for the real test. As well as that, there are in app achievements, which you receive as you progress your knowledge for the test. You can also target key aspects of your knowledge that you struggle on in the James may way section, and select how many questions you want to do. This app is great for when you have small breaks throughout the day which helps you keep your knowledge up to date. Amazing!!.Version: 1.4.22

Good but not Great.I passed my driving theory test first time, however when doing practice questions they were far too much of one catergory (setting off) and not a mix of all questions. As a result i only bared scraped a pass in the real thing and wae expecting to do so much better as some questions i had just not seen before despite having done at least 70% in all the categories and having done all the hazard perception videos. I think it would be a great help if the developers relooked at their algorithm for practice questions and made it a much bigger mix of questions and also present a new question every quiz. Other than that it is a really good app and a lot nicer than the main dvsa one..Version: 1.4.39

This helped me pass first timeThis app helped me pass my theory test first time. It’s simple to use, straight forward and doesn’t make any of the criteria more complicated. There are multiple ways to learn on this app whether that being the training plan that gives you a little bit of everything as a small reviser. There was “The James May way” which I found to be very useful as it was cut into sections those being simplified topics of what would come up in the real test. I found this method the most useful as I could happily focus on the section I struggled with the most. The mock test which puts you in a scenario like you would be in the real thing but it’s just a mock test and nothing counts. Yes this app may have been a huge help and that is why I passed first time but like anything out there that you want to achieve, you have to put the time and effort in to make it count. Doesn’t have to take a whole day, could just be 15 minutes or an hour a day. Over time that you’ll really benefit and you’ll thank yourself. Really good app, would recommend it to anyone. The videos are straight to the point and give off a very reassuring tone. And it’s developed by James may, a literal legend so why wouldn’t you? He knows his stuff..Version: 1.4.0

Great App better than the 4 in 1I like how immersive this app is. You can easily navigate through it and it makes sure you understand what you’re doing. The training plans are a great idea. However, I did not do the training plan and mastered each topic individually on the multiple choice and Hazard perception. Thanks to this I passed first try! The downside is that it said I was gonna fail because I didn’t complete the training tasks. It also doesn’t allow you to share whether you have passed or not without the training plan feature. There was also a bit of misinformation being the fact that I would fail because I hadn’t done 100% mastery. I had only done 50% on both sections and I felt that was enough for me to pass, which I assumed correctly. Im still going to hate the app for saying I would fail just because I went about the training plan differently. The app also crashes a lot when on the hazard perception section which was annoying because it would make me do it again, when all I wanted was to access the video explanation. Apart from that the app was really good and is easy for anyone of All ages to understand 👍🏾.Version: 1.4.39

Worth the £6.99I never pay for apps because I’m apprehensive about their quality. However, the 10,000s of positive reviews and feedback for this app is absolutely true. I downloaded it 6 weeks before my theory and used it daily to train for the test which I passed. The app is well laid out and it is quite nice to have the comical commentary of James May. I definitely recommend this to anyone who’s got their theory coming up, especially if you’re like me and failed it before. It’s helps make learning fun and memorable. To the app developers, I feel there are few tweaks needed - on the day of the test I wanted to use the app to revise quickly just before but it asked if I’d passed my test. I had to click “haven’t taken it yet” then reset the test date so I could check that off. Adding a time of test could be nice so it doesn’t preemptively ask if it’s passed as I’m sure many use it on the day of. Also more hazard perception videos if it’s possible because I had learned them all and felt like I was only passing on the app because I knew what and when the hazard was going to be..Version: 1.4.41

Passed 1st time 50/50 marks after only 4 days using this!I bought this app ages ago and never really used it. Finally after a year and a bit later I booked my theory and still hadn’t done ANY revision. I set my training plan on here for 4 days till my test and the practice sessions with the questions, hazards, signage and more questions were super useful. Some was common sense, other parts had to be learnt. The 50 question mock tests were great as-well. Being prepared for how the test would work and the hazard perception with the clicking and flag system was helpful too even though you do get shown on the test day. Managed to pass perfect (50 of 50) on questions and got a pass mark for my hazard. Looking forward to the driving lessons and using the other resources this app has to offer in regard to practical..Version: 1.4.26

Thank youI’d like others to know how much this app helped me retain the knowledge needed… only looking back now I can see how the structure of this app in it’s entirety is the reason for my first time pass success! 😁 Just saying but I’ve had a top rated “official” kind of app for over a year n half because I gave up trying to understand what I was actually trying to learn! Thank you Mr May and friends for this app seems you really understand the younger mind and I feel your app is going to really help ppl understand what, when and why they need the knowledge..Version: 1.4.26

Amazing App! Cannot recommend highly enoughIf you are hesitant with this app, don’t be. It is the best app for learning how to pass the theory test. I was skeptics at first but thought I’d have a shot at it because who doesn’t love James May?! Anyway, the app is amazing. It is perfect for younger people as well as there is lots of pictures and funny quips. There is lots of wee videos from the man himself and it goes through every single detail of the theory test and ultimately, HOW TO PASS!!! I passed first time using this app. So, I’m my opinion, drop the dull DVLA app and use this instead as this will help you a lot more. (Coming from a person who bought and used both) So what are you waiting for? GET IT AND PASS!!!!.Version: 1.4.1

Recommend to people who are struggling or don’t know how to reviseI was struggling to pass my theory test twice and I was going to give up until I found this app advised and after using this app I was able to pass my theory test with ease. The app gives you training plans and each plan is different and they help you in what you are struggling in the plans and if you don’t like to do the training plans you can go through the topics individually. Also, the app tracks your progress and it can help you keep track of when your theory is if you tell it to and remind you to revise if you want to be reminded. All in all a brilliant app, to use to revise and highly recommend..Version: 1.4.26

GET THIS APP!!!I couldn’t recommend this app enough. I’ve just taken my theory test and the questions in the app were literally identical to the questions on the real test. I got 49/50 on the theory and 65/75 on the hazard perception. Even the hazard perception videos on the app were practically identical to the ones I had on the test. It’s easy to use and I love the way it tracks your progress so you know exactly where you are with learning everything. It teaches you by making you answer questions which is good because most apps you don’t really have a clue what you’ve learnt, it just tells you information and doesn’t really teach you anything. Basically you literally cannot fail if you work through this app and do the practice test. The only in-app purchase is for the practical test tips which is optional and doesn’t stop you learning any of the theory. THANK YOU JAMES MAY!!!.Version: 1.4.24

Great appPassed first time with the use of this app, all the questions are what you can expect to see in the real test, worded the same way etc. Only criticism on my end would be the hazard perception section of the app feels slightly off, the scores given don’t seem to be in the correct places of the video and when compared to the official DVSA websites hazard perception tests it is seen to be the case. However in all this app is absolutely amazing, the addition of James talking through the questions and how he does things really helps give a better perspective on the theory test and driving as a whole. Great job on the app folks and thanks very much!.Version: 1.3.0

Passed with itI’ve used this app for 2 months every so often before my theory test. Passed today first time. It’s certainly more entertaining than other theory apps and gets the job done well for all the categories except hazard perception. The feedback on the videos aren’t very clear and I often found myself getting a 0 on them presumably because I clicked too early. There’s also a fair few bugs, including the app resetting my progress a month in and displaying I’ve watched 15/12 specific hazard perception videos of one category. If the feedback and explanation were clearer on the hazard perception videos it would get a 5..Version: 1.4.1

Passed first timeMy boyfriend is a big fan of James May, and after using this app I am too. I was so worried about taking my theory test, but this app made it fun to revise and cool to see my progress throughout the (admittedly few) weeks I revised. You can test yourself on sections you’ve scored less highly on so you can focus on the bits you need to practice and this really helps when you feel like you’ve revised it all. I passed this morning, and it’s completely down to this app and it’s fun easy learning style. 10/10 would recommend to anyone wanting to pass.Version: 1.3.9

Very well madeMy other theory test app I that I had bought wasn’t doing anything for me, it was constantly giving repeat questions and never gave much information on any answers, so I went on the hunt for a better app and found this one that my brother used and passed his test with. I have my test in two weeks and have so much more confidence for it after downloading this app, it explains everything and gives an easy understanding on the topics, would highly recommend for anyone who isn’t feeling confident in their knowledge for the theory test..Version: 1.4.18

Amazing App!I had to retake my theory because it ran out after covid and they wouldn’t extend it [Since a lot of lessons were halted due to the pandemic] so I decided to study for it using this app. It is amazing! It goes through each question that you’ve gotten wrong and explanations of answers. I wasn’t able to continuously study using this app because of work and uni but for the little journey time that I had, I spent around maybe three or four hours on it before I had to take my test. The day before, I took multiple mock tests on this app and when I went in to do my theory - a lot of those questions I practiced from the mock were on the actual test! And so, confidentially and under half an hour of the test, I passed. If you’re looking for something quick and easily explained, this app is great to use for the theory test. Far more better than the DVSA Theory App that I used for my last test..Version: 1.4.16

Great for Questions, not so great for Hazard PerceptionI found the section based on the multiple choice Test really good, it only tests you on the things you’re not so good at but you have the option to practice the things you know to make sure you don’t forget them. The hazard perception, on the other hand, I found to be not as good. In other hazard perception apps, it shows you when you needed to click to get the marks, which I find very useful. I think that having James explain why you need to click and what has gone wrong is very useful and will make me a better driver, but I think it would be useful to also include some visual indication of when I should have clicked in order to get the marks..Version: 1.2.8
