Weather Strip for Positive User Reviews

Lovely and usefulThis is the easiest-to-use display of the weather forecast I’ve seen. My only gripe, and it’s minor, is that the underlying forecast is from the U.S. Weather Service, and there are other sources that can do better. It’d be great if I could select other sources, though that would probably require some tough licensing negotiations..Version: 1.0

Elegant, informative, funIt took me a bit to adjust to, but now I find the Weather Strip way of presenting information super convenient and quick to grok. It’s clear that a the developer put a lot of thought into how to present the information and the overall feel of the app. Also, I love the rainbows prediction! Very reasonably priced..Version: 1.6

Good AppToo many apps are getting filled to the brim to ads. I don’t want to see 50 ads to check the temp. While I do pay a few bucks for this app it’s worth it. It’s got more information than I’ll ever need, it’s great. Clear and good indo. I found a new great app..Version: 1.8

Really nice looking weather appThis weather app has a great UI, scrolling through the day give me a detailed view of today’s and this weeks weather. I do wish there was a simple Apple Watch complication to go with it. That way I’m getting data from one app, rather than this app on my phone and the stock weather app on my watch… Weather alerts might be another feature to add. So far I’m really liking it..Version: 1.0

This app is really cool!!It’s really well thought out and designed, it has basic functionality that isn’t difficult to understand, the animations are snappy, and in my opinion it’s the best way to understand what the weather will be like. Easily 10 out of 5 stars..Version: 1.0

Simple wonderful and deeply thoughtfulI think this might be weather data, perfectly visualized. The attention to detail is outstanding. I can’t think a single thing to complain about*. Well done developer! * I lied. There is one small thing. Very small! Tiny even. Ridiculous to even mention even. The “i” button on the right feels unbalanced visually by the update timer on the left. The “i” also doesn’t feel quite ios-like in style either..Version: 1.1

What More can you ask from a weather app?I’ve never seen a weather app that conveys so much information so clearly in a single screen. My one reservation about the original version was that it wasn’t easy or intuitive to find different places. That is now solved. Bravo to the developers!.Version: 1.5.4

Amazingly Well DoneI’ve been using another, shall we say, vegetable related weather app for years now, and while I do love it (even though it wants to kill me), I find myself using this app even more. It’s just beautifully designed, and so perfectly well laid out. I really wish it wasn’t subscription-based, but I will I know people need to make money so, the cost is not so onerous..Version: 1.0

Love it! How do I pay for it?I love this app! Being able to see the week’s weather forecast at a glance is amazing! The way it’s visualized just works for me. I’ve only had it for a few days, but I’m already sold… but I can’t figure out how to make that in-app purchase? Give me a button to click, and I’ll pay that annual subscription!.Version: 1.1

Excellent idea but…Great visualization of weather and excellent way to choose location for micro-weather reports. Subscription is a new understood way of generating income, and this app offers 30 days free. My only complaint/ suggestion is tell me what the subscription cost will be UPFRONT. That way, if it is not cost effective, I have not used the app for 30 days. Seems fair, no?.Version: 1.0

Very handy weather programI am a bicycle commuter. This app makes it very easy to see the current & up coming weather. Presentation is great on iPad but needs portrait mode on iPhone. But it is still excellent on the iPhone. I stopped using my other weather apps.Version: 1.1.2

Beautiful, extremely well-designed appNot only is this beautiful to look at; it's also extremely well-designed. And by that I mean that it's super quick and easy to get the full picture of the upcoming forecast at just a glance. It's densely packed with temps, UV index, cloud cover, sunrise/sunset, chance of rain and thunderstorms, heat advisories and the like. Words cannot describe how wonderfully and beautifully this app displays weather information..Version: 1.1.1

Favorite weather appI love this presentation of the forecast. Such a clear way to see when the highs and lows will be. I'd say there are only two things missing: 1) radar and 2) notifications (impending precipitation, watches, warnings, etc). But I still love this app without those. 5-star all the way. Keep up the great work!.Version: 1.2

Great promiseI liked this enough to subscribe for a year. It’s one of a kind but definitely still has room for improvement. Two features I would like to see are easier switching of saved locations and (some) history on the visualization. Right now if the map is zoomed in in the wrong spot it’s way too hard to switch. On the history front, it isn’t even very easy to go backwards and look at the current day. That’s a must! Preferably I’d love to have about a week of history included in the visualization..Version: 1.1.2

Photography essentialPhotographers especially landscape photographers need to know about the sunlight/cloud cover at locations. In other apps if cloud cover info is given at all its buried deep and given in vague % terms. This has already saved one wasted journey and made me stay an extra hour at another location and got some excellent shots.Version: 1.8

Convenient for SolarI was looking for an app that would make forecasting cloud cover convenient and this one fits the bill. Beyond that it’s very interesting, intuitive and elegant. Honestly I don’t think I would change a thing about this app. Keep it simple and beautiful..Version: 1.1.2

Quick and Reliable Weather AppReview: WeatherStrip - Quick and Reliable Weather App Rating: ★★★★★ WeatherStrip is a reliable weather app that offers quick and accurate weather information from NOAA or Foreca (with premium subscription purchase). With its user-friendly interface, you can easily access essential weather details for current/future dates such as temperature, precipitation rate/time, wind speed, dew point/humidity, cloud cover, and even weather alerts, etc. It's a convenient tool for staying informed about the current and future 7 day weather conditions on the go! I use it several times a day and couldn’t do without it..Version: 1.8.4

Slide into your forecastsMy trial ended today. Easy decision to go yearly with this excellent visual representation of weekly forecasts. Weather dot gov offers a decent two-day view I had used for quite a while, until recommended this app. Simple display, unit preferences, and clearly informative all at once..Version: 1.1.1

Great for visual peopleI love the way this app is laid out, the interface is simple and straightforward. My only critique would be able to have a military time option. Otherwise fantastic and I appreciate the ad free experience without random tracking stuff. Edit: Developer will be implementing 24 hour time on the next update. Thank you for reading the feedback and taking the time to action this request!.Version: 1.1

My Only App SubscriptionPerfectly glanceable with tons of information; simple but perfectly customizable interface; great weather alert visualization. Weather Strip made me understand which parts of weather actually impact my life. (I LOVE tracking dew point, cloud cover, and sunrise/sunset with it!) I loath paying subscriptions, so it means a lot to say that Weather Strip is the only app listed in my subscriptions. My highest recommendation..Version: 1.7.3

Extra Cost for Widgets?Excited to see the new version finally supports widgets. Very disappointed that such a basic feature is only available as part of a premium subscription..Version: 1.5.4

Lovely presentationI am always on the lookout for new weather apps that have interesting and useful layouts. This one is great! I love the quick timeline view of the week with easy-to-read metrics. Update Feb 22: Moving from 4 to 5 stars now that the app has actual location search. That makes it much more useful when traveling. This is my go to weather app..Version: 1.2

Excellent visualization but unreliable uptimeThis app is one of the best visualization and easy to slide through single-handed. This developer is talented and I supported by subscribing. But the app keeps having server issues that says - NOAA server issues. I would gladly pay more if the app can be reliable. I hope the developer considers other data sources like Dark Sky. Additionally, I wish there was a watch app and an iOS widget. Without them, I still have to have some other weather app..Version: 1.1.2

Best overviewThis is exactly what I’ve been looking for: plenty of info at a glance but not too much. Beautiful, self-explanatory UI. It took me a couple minutes to figure out how to change locations but once I did, it’s totally logical how it works. Once Dark Sky goes away in January 2023, this thing will skyrocket. Thanks for a totally well-thought-out and usable weather app!.Version: 1.7.2

Best visuals of weatherIf you can add radar it would get extra star :).Version: 1.7.5

Beautiful, clever UX design!First, pay for this app. It’s great, and great things deserve money. The app packs so much data visually into one simple chart that any fan of Edward Tufte will just drool over how thoughtful and clever the experience is. It has a simple, timeless feel—honestly, the weather graph could be printed in the newspaper and it would still be just as useful. Kudos to Robin Stewart and Math Easel for creating a masterpiece of visual information design!.Version: 1.1.2

Nice implementationI like the way this app looks, almost hand drawn in places. Some improvements for someone who doesn’t always wear reading glasses is larger text sizes for the data above the scroll. Also the wind direction indicator could be larger and clearer. The text bubbles in the scroll occasionally overlap making them unreadable. Still it’s nice and to the point..Version: 1.1

Great app, could be even betterLove that this app gives hour-by-hour data for your current location straight from NOAA in an easy-to-read graph for temp, cloud cover, chance of rain, amount of rain, and UV index. I’ve found it to be immensely helpful—this quickly became one of my most-used weather apps. My only complaint is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to search for other locations beyond finding them on the map and there doesn’t seem to be a way to store a list of locations you look at frequently for easy access. You can drop a pin on the map and save it for future use, but you still have to scroll across the map to find your pin. Hopefully those features will be added in the future!.Version: 1.0

Most useful and powerful weather appOnce you start using this app you won’t be able to use anything else. It is amazingly data rich, with a single glance you see a week of temperature, cloud cover, chance of rain, wind, and sun rise/set times. The new Lock Screen widgets are great add ons, I can see 3 days of information in the space that other weather apps can provide only the current conditions. This is my favorite weather app hands down..Version: 1.7.1

Brilliant!Weather data is fairly standard across most apps - what sets this app apart is the way the data is displayed. All data points are immediately visible and easily understood with no additional ‘clicking’..Version: 1.7.2

A fantastic visual of weather data that flows….So many weather apps are digital boxes of data numbers or too cute emotive symbols. WeatherStrip is unique, displaying layers of dense weather data in a visually fluid format that lends itself to a rapid summary of weather conditions now, and in the future. Hats off to the developers for their unique and informative application I reference every day!.Version: 1.8.4

Intuitive, Beautiful, EfficientWhat a beautifully designed, effective, visual approach to showing the current and forecasted weather in a way that is intuitive and lets you quickly "grep" (get a true sense of) what the day(s) ahead will be like. And there are loads of details available too, at a glance, without the need for a whole lot of poking around and clicking as in some other apps. Nice job, a tour de force actually. (I guess the one good thing about Apple planning to kill off the much loved Dark Sky app for their mush less usable Weather app is that it led me to discover this effective and enjoyable alternative.).Version: 1.7.2

My new favorite for weather, radar and widgets please!I’ve tried just about every weather app it seems like and the way the information in Weather Strip is presented beats them all. I do keep two other weather apps still on my phone but only for radar. If you added radar I would finally be able to delete the others. My two suggestions for Weather Strip are: 1. a radar screen of some sort, I I find it very useful to be able to see the radar in conjunction with the other information 2. If you could make widgets for iPhone presenting this information as beautifully as it is in the app I would be sold forever. Great job on the app I am a subscriber now thanks!.Version: 1.1.2

Data driven visual forecastsI found this app on a guide online for widgets on the Home Screen for iOS. I am glad I did, as this app displays really insightful data in a way that is really cool and interactive. As someone who works in forensics and presenting to clients on a regular basis, this makes my chart-mind super satisfied..Version: 1.7.2

Love this for solar energy prediction, and the widget is especially useful. As a solar panel user I need to know if it’s going to be cloudy tomorrow, so I can charge my batteries overnight and save money. This app very clearly shows the cloud cover for tomorrow so it makes it easy to assess how much to charge my batteries. It’s also very useful that this app has a widget which can show at a glance what’s coming. Very impressed..Version: 1.6

If Weather Line were good or affordableThis is the app I’ve been looking for. If you just need NOAA data in the US presented in an easy to read in minimalist format, at an affordable price, this is the one you should be downloading. I would be willing to pay more for a version with a widget..Version: 1.1.2

Best glanceable weather visualizationThanks for the best visualization for near and mid term weather. With lots of detail showing hourly info over multiple days. Two requests to make it even better: - a widget for the Home Screen would be perfect and constantly used - enhanced support for quickly switching between multiple locations of interest..Version: 1.1.2

Intuitive and easy! Needs widget and watch functionality!First off, kudos for the privacy focus and 30 days free! I like this a lot! It’s easy to use and read and loaded with great info! Suggestions: in an unused portion of the screen, perhaps offer space for 2-3 saved locations to easily update the weather. For instance: home, work, and current. Allow custom labels for these. Also, having a widget and watch complication would be great and would take the place of what I’m currently using for both!.Version: 1.0

ExcellentHaving tried all the well regarded weather apps, it took about a minute for this to become my favorite. Everything you want to know is presented in a clear, easily navigable one-screen view. A widget and radar would make it perfect. One other disadvantage to this app that I didn’t realize at first is that it really is ONLY a forecast. There’s no real time weather info, so if you live in an area as I do where it’s not uncommon for unpredictable storms to drop the temp 10 or 15 degrees, it does get quite off in those situations. Still a great app, I just have a local stations app as backup for radar and real-time info on such days..Version: 1.1.1

Great app, but one major flawI love the design of the app and it gives me more relevant information in a friendlier way than any other weather app I’ve tried. I subscribed as a result. The one glaring flaw is that the only way to choose a different location is by scrolling around a map. This is hugely inefficient and really hinders my ability to use this app for planning local travel or prepare for upcoming trips. I hope the developer adds the ability to search for locations or I won’t be a long-term subscriber..Version: 1.1.2

My go to weather app.I have had this app for about 7 months now. It is my daily weather check. It’s more accurate hourly for my area than many other apps I have had. The graph view is very user friendly. Being able to see when snow or rain is going to happen, how much and how long on a time graph is visually pleasing and accurate. The yearly price of the app is very reasonable considering I use it daily. It’s updates are consistent. I recommend..Version: 1.2

Simple, usefulI’m really enjoying this app so far. I was looking for an app that presents NWS data in a thoughtful design, and this fits the bill. The only feature it seems to be lacking so far is weather alert notifications. Any chance you’ll add that?.Version: 1.7.3

Delightful Weather App!Lots of information in an easy to use app. One thing I’d like to see added is the ability to have two customizable data fields rather than just the one Humidity/Dew Point/Feels like. You can easily fit two data points in that space. Also, for $3.99 per year I’d really like the option to choose a different data source than NOAA ala Carrot Weather..Version: 1.1.1

Clever, information-dense UIThis is such a clever way to display weather data -- everything you need, all in one place, without tapping around. Some people are probably naturally more inclined to respond to this sort of visualization than others, but for me it's genius..Version: 1.7.5

The best weather appIt took mere moments for me to realize this was the weather app for me. Everything I need is on one screen with no fuss. I hope that some other color or style themes are added in the future for some variety and personalization. The one major gripe I have is that the subscription is not able to be shared with my family. It’s one thing to sell me on a subscription (and it did that almost instantly) but quite another to expect me to get an additional subscription for every member of the family..Version: 1.1.4

Intuitive, Beautiful, EfficientWhat a beautifully designed, effective, visual approach to showing the current and forecasted weather in a way that is intuitive and lets you quickly get a true sense of what the day(s) ahead will be like. There are loads of details available too, at a glance, without the need for a whole lot of poking around and clicking as in some other apps. But the magic is in the well thought out interactive visualization that blends display of raw data with a representation of what the data actually means. Really nice job, a tour de force actually. (I guess the one good thing about Apple planning to kill off the much loved Dark Sky app for their mush less usable Weather app is that it led me to discover this effective and enjoyable alternative.).Version: 1.7.2

Beautiful and…PeacefulI saw the write-up about this app on a Mac publication and decided to give it a shot. I am very happy that I did. The app is beautifully designed, simple to use and informative. Best of all, there is no noise (read, ads and obnoxious pop-up screens) to bother you. I will happily subscribe and contribute to the future development of Weather Strip..Version: 1.0

Clean, simple, but has everything you needCompared to other weather apps, this one shows you so little. It's pared down to just about the absolute minimum a weather app could be. And yet it shows you everything you need to see. The temperature, cloudiness, precipitation, and wind for the next several hours (scrollable) and for the week. There is no need to interpret or drill down into the app’s UI; data is shown so clearly that from the moment you open the app, there's almost no need to scroll, tap, zoom, or do anything else to get at the weather data you want. The minimalist design lets the data shine through to the maximum extent possible, and it's beautiful..Version: 1.8.4

Great, but inaccurateThe concept behind the app is great, however the information it displays is inaccurate for my location. For years I have used Dark Sky which takes a hyper-local approach to forecasts. This is necessary for anything approaching accuracy in San Francisco which is known for its micro climates that can vary wildly from one side of the city to the other. It looks like Weather Strip is giving me a forecast for the eastern side of the city, which is completely useless if you live on the west side where the sun rarely shines in the summer months. As I write this, I am surrounded by fog and dense clouds, however the app tells me that there is 50 percent cloud cover..Version: 1.1.1

FantasticI’ve tried many weather apps and this one works best for me - love the timeline view and all the info it gives in one place.Version: 1.8.2

Almost perfectThis app is brilliant. Firstly, it’s relatively accurate, which not all weather apps are. Secondly, the data presentation is ingenious. You can take in multiple aspects of the current and future climate simultaneously and at a glance. It’s great if you have solar panels because cloud cover is really easy to gauge from it, so you can plan your usage and what to do with charging batteries and cars and stuff. Absolutely worth the money. It could be improved further if it also had and Apple Watch app. Just sayin’ ;).Version: 1.8.2

Best Overall Weather App for IOS!OK, let me say up front that I was a die hard Dark Sky user right up until the end. I remain a fan and daily user of the Dark Sky enhanced Apple Weather app too. I’m even amused by Carrot Weather. Weather Strip, however, has become my go to daily driver for weather related life planning. The ability to take in the upcoming 7 day forecast at a glance and see the actual profiles of temperature, precipitation, cloud cover, and more evolve over time is elegant, intuitive, and viscerally informative. Well worth the modest subscription cost and a great asset in your weather awareness arsenal. Highly recommended..Version: 1.7.5

Only app with cloud cover infoI love this app. I’m a visual person so seeing everything laid out visually is perfect for me. Living in the Pacific Northwest I also really appreciate knowing exactly how much cloud cover or sun there will be on a given day at various times throughout the day. I can actually plan my day around when there will be sunshine!.Version: 1.7.5
