✓ Reading my first storyThe plot line is typical, billionaire playboy falls in love with poor-ish girl, love at first sight thing. The grammar seems awkward. People do speak using contractions but it seems like the story I’m reading was autocorrect to remove contractions. This makes it sound like it’s trying too hard to be proper English. A natural conversation from the 19 year old female character would have her speak more casual, not forced. So far by chapter 6, I’ve found missing quotation marks. I went back to the last sentence and the last sentence has open and closed “ “ marks but the next sentence only has the closed “. Maybe it’s just a pet peeve of mine. 🤷🏻♀️ I know these stories haven’t gone through a publisher but seriously, basic 4th grade English. Maybe some spell & grammar check would help..Version: 2.14.0
✓ It was great until ……This was a great app and I’ve used it daily since I first downloaded it a quite a few months ago. However in the last four days since 5/11/23 , this app has completely wiped or reset my reading history to the very beginning, like I’m a new reader at square one again, I’ve spent a lot of money using this application as well and I’m sad to say that in a blink of an eye I have lost all of reading history. I have tried to restore to no avail, I would appreciate some support from the creator’s please and I will change my review back to five stars with many smiles 🙏😁.Version: 2.3.0
✓ Total bait and switchMy first book let me read 100 chapters for free, which honestly, while the story is interesting the writing needs work. After that I have to pay coins to read. I did the math and I could buy a few months worth of unlimited free reads on a different app just for one subpar book here. So I decided to try to save up bonus coins and started a different story. This one only gave me 5 free chapters and now requires coins. BAIT and SWITCH. Like I said, I can have unlimited reading for months on a different app for less than the cost of one book here. ✓ They smoking crack for these pricesI paid $30+ to read one book because I was hooked. The amount of coins they charge per chapter is absolutely insane and I should’ve deleted the app after that. ✓ Not a fan!The story I read was ok. What is irritating is the process! I read fast. I don’t mind paying for a book. But after spending $20 in coins to get through the chapters that were starting to get repetitive, I’m no where near the end of the book so I switched to waiting an hour for the chapter to unlock. Each “chapter” is 7-9 pages, and while I enjoyed the book, it’s not worth >$20. I’d buy plenty of books IF they were reasonably priced just because I enjoy them. ✓ Should be a no stars choice.Grammar, spelling, and just low quality aside, the ads for this ap lie. You never get a whole novel for free. It only lets you read so far before you have to pay. You can’t read more than one novel concurrently, or you get limits. It’s not really worth the effort, too much money for so little reward. The ads promise totally free, no ads, no money. And after a certain point there is no free option at all. You are FORCED to pay an exhorbatant amount, fir little value. You expect top dollar, after lying in your ads, fir a service that has 90 percent garbage, with no semblance of spelling or understandable content..Version: 2.13.1
✓ $$$If u want to smash out a book in 1 day this app is not for you unless u have plenty of money to spend on it. Even getting a subscription u still have to buy more coins because the coins do not come fast enough and the subscription does not give u unlimited reading nor does it give you any ware near enough to perhaps read a whole book to get you stared. It also does not give u enough coins when u do get bonuses to even buy a chapter. ✓ Not enough coins to actually readI’m into the book but it’s super annoying that I have to constantly wait to read more until the next day and then I only get one very short chapter. ✓ Difficult to navigateDownloaded the app and logged in through Google. Paid for and read a story and when I tried to go back and read chapters couldn’t get past the bonus chapters at the very end. Found another potential story on IG and when I clicked on learn more it opened the AlphaNovel app and now I can not get that book off the screen nor see my stories I paid for. ✓ Waste of time and moneyThis app used to be great because you could unlock a chapter per hour for free. Since the update removed that feature, I will be deleting the app. Coins are way too expensive. You end up paying way more for these stories than you would for a book that is professionally published. While a lot of the stories are intriguing, many lack proper editing and feature many grammatical and continuity errors. There are also several unfinished stories that have been abandoned by the author. Save yourself the money and find an app that offers a yearly subscription for unlimited stories..Version: 2.15.0
✓ Good books, no Free chapter an hourI’m definitely on one of the books that hooks the reader and about 40 chapters in it dawned on me, I’m supposed to be getting a free chapter every hour. Even though there is a reminder on the novels page about it and I am no where near done with it (and yes, I have the auto option turned on). I feel like I have already put more money into this then any other app. It’s not cheap. ✓ Mixed feelingsI love the stories available on this app. however it is extremely expensive which is ridiculous. a monthly subscription should cover free reading of the whole site. not just add to the free bonus. it is not worth it at all. Then if u would like to flat out purchase a “book” the price is beyond reason. if u were to do that it would cost somewhere between $30-$100 depending if is a single book or a series. and as much as I enjoy the trashy stories it os NOT worth that much. ✓ Rejecting my Lycan MateWhen I download this app and start reading the book, REJECTING MY LYCAN MATE, I receive free chapters, but when I download the app, it told me that I would receive a free chapter every hour, and at first yes I did receive. Then overtime, the time between chapters became longer and longer, now if I read a chapter today I have to wait until tomorrow to read another chapter. I feel that this is a scam to get you to put money to buy coins and yes I have bought coins before the chapters were so short, use up all my coins in no time at all. Not to mention, said, book ended before there was a conclusion to it. It stated that the new chapters will be added daily. I’ve received no new chapters. I have look for part two of this book. ✓ Ad issuesStories are entertaining and communicating with the authors to express interest has been fun. Firstly, books will say complete when they are not completed even though the author may have on their end that it’s completed. Last 20 chapters must be paid for with coins which is no issue to me as you can just watch ads. Waiting an hour each day can be annoying but allowed me to read more chapters whereas now they require you to watch 3 one minute ads with a cap on the amount of ads you can watch so now I am not able to read as many chapters as I used to. I understand that the switch to ads was in order to accommodate the authors, but this is now really frustrating for the readers. Maybe suggest doing a mix of waiting an hour for reading and ads instead or remove the cap of ads. But PLEASE fix the loading ads issue. ✓ Change in timerThis used to be one of my favourite novel apps until they updated it. The removal of the waiting period of one hour for a new chapter means that you’re expected to consistently just spend coins on each chapter or watch a ridiculous amount of ads. These books although thoroughly entertaining are not worth the exorbitant price this app is trying to charge so that we are able to read them. I do have to say a thank you is in order because now that I won’t be using the app I will have one less procrastination tool whilst studying my masters. ✓ Coins- Ads for chaptersWhen I downloaded the app the thing that had drawn me to it was the fact that all books were free and a chapter would unlock after an hour but now as for the past week it is no longer doing that it asking me to use coins or watch ads I enjoyed the fact that I could wait the hour if I didn’t have enough coins now I can’t open any chapters cause I don’t have enough until maybe the end of the week. Not sure why this was changed but I hope that it goes back to how it was. Also, you only get a limited number of ads to watch per day then it forces you to either wait until the next day or use coins if you have them. ✓ Not as advertisedI came across this app on Facebook. It was advertised as not having to pay for books, so I downloaded it. Sure enough, after four chapters of the “hook the customer” book, it’s wanting one to buy coins to unlock chapters, and they don’t come cheap. The chapters are short, as well, making it extremely expensive to read a book. The story for the first book has promise, but it could definitely use the help of a good editor. I’m not sure the stories are worth the price they’re asking. I much prefer the Galatea app where one can unlock a chapter at no cost by waiting six hours. I don’t mind waiting six hours, and I have 20+ books going at one time, so there’s always something to read for free. Have I ever purchased extra points to unlock a chapter earlier? Yes, but it’s my choice not to wait the six hours in that case. No one is holding a chapter hostage until I spend money to unlock a chapter. Their business model is one that this app should consider. I started reading 4 books on rotation to help pass the time of the hour wait limit. Then out of nowhere, I can no longer wait. I have to spend coins. It doesn’t matter how deep into the book I am, 30 chapters or 4, the hour time limit is no longer an option. ✓ Was okay at first…2 months later not!This app was okay at first but then I started noticing problems. 1. It often times will charge you for chapters you’ve already paid for 2. Free books are not really free 3. It doesn’t keep track of your coins for example I just clicked on a chapter to see how much it was, my coin balance was 56 I didn’t buy the chapter. I went to another book clicked on the next chapter my coin balance was suddenly 8 coins 4. If you click on a chapter multiple times the price goes up. Wanted chapter 11 in Aphas flower it was 20 coins waited until I got my “daily” went to purchase chapter it was suddenly 32 coins….the whole thing feels kinda scammy which is sad I truly enjoyed many of the books on this app..Version: 1.37.0
✓ Is it worth it?There is a lot of pros and cons to this app. Do you have to spend money to read? No Do do you have to wait for chapters to unlock? Yes Can you spend money to unlock those chapters? Yes Is the pricing consistent? No (I would get different pricing for different chapters in the same novel) If you get the subscription could you avoid the timer? No, the cool down will just cut down to 30min instead of 60min. I enjoyed the story’s on the app and liked that there was a 60 min timer to unlock each chapter instead of out right paying for them. I also don’t mind paying to unlock each chapter. That’s if the pricing was consistent or even worth it. Why do I have to pay 25-30 coins for some and then 40 for others, especially if they are in the same novel. Oh and if you plan on buying the alpha novel plus make sure to keep in mind that the only thing it does is make things a little easier. You still have to do all the other daily stuff to get coins, you get a certain percentage off for coins. It doesn’t even get rid of the timer, it just lowers it to 30min instead of 60min. Personally I don’t think the alpha novel plus is worth it. If your broke and are willing to wait an hour for each chapter this is the app to go to..Version: 1.49.0
✓ Terrible AI voice.Who picked the AI voice for the audio versions? They should be fired. There is so much unnecessary yelling. It was very distracting. I would rather listen to a monotone voice than one with the wrong inflections. Update: So it states that the last 20 chapters will not be part of the free chapters that will be unlocked ever hour. You know what I did? I unlocked the last 20 chapters with coins. Do you know what happened? Of course you do, but let me enlighten everyone else you’re trying to scam. The 20 chapters before the last 20 chapters I unlocked became the new 20 chapters that can’t be unlocked ever hour. Now I have to earn more coins for those chapters. ✓ Awful changeThis app use to be my favorite for reading stories. You would have to wait one hour for a new free chapter for the majority of the book, then for the last dozen+ chapters, pay/use coins for them. I could read several books and not spend a fortune. Now, you have to watch several ads to get a free chapter. I don’t know if there is a cap on how many of those you can get a day, but it was really nice to not be bombarded with useless ads. This was an app I was happy to buy coins for because I at least knew I was getting a good deal. Now, it’s just as bad and a ripoff as all of the others. ✓ Review for alpha novelI love the App a lot but I have 1 thing that make me give it 3 stars. Yknow how you can share with a friend? Well I did because I wanted the coins and when my friend signed in with the referral link it gave her the 50 coins but I never got the coins. I contacted support but they said that my referral link was not used. When I literally had screenshots of it working for her and not me. I can’t tell if it was a scam act to get me to add someone else but I’m quite annoyed as I added her expecting the coins to read more. Other wise no complaints for now-..Version: 2.7.0
✓ Love the app, But…..irritated!I downloaded this app close to a year ago and up until yesterday I have read many many books on this app. Never had a complaint until yesterday when I tried to open the app and it did nothing but buffer. ✓ NOT WORTH ITIt used to be worth it. Used to spend hours on it. Now I spend twenty seconds on it. Long enough to log on and get the days reward. All to save up and get enough coins for the next chapter. I have twelve books on here I am trying to read. The challenges want you to earn coins by buying coins. Why do the challenges then ? Half ask you to unlock chapters. Can’t do that with no coins. Watch ads the developers said, you can only watch ads and unlock the max of FIVE chapters a day, not even per book. ✓ Free???Your advertising specifically targets that you only get a few chapters free with other apps, get the whole book free with you. Your the same as everyone else. ✓ One hour timer taken away?As the title says, I’m really frustrated that they took away the one hour timer to unlock a chapter. I thought it was such an innovative way to read different stories back to back and engross you into the app and it’s books. However, now all i see is you pay for it or have to watch 3 ads to unlock it?? Why? Why can’t i just set up the timer again? I wouldn’t have minded if you made the timer longer either, i just think going with this style of unlocking makes it really irritating to read multiple books. ✓ Books & CostWhile the books are wonderful and I will continue to read them, raising the chapter cost every chapter is a little over the top and causes for periods where I stop reading because I can’t afford to. ✓ Add Amount of Chapters to Books!I’ve read part of a couple books so far and they are really good, despite some errors with the writing which is usually easy to understand what the author is trying to say, but I don’t know when the books are going to end and it drives me nuts! If we are to pay for a certain amount of chapters, I would like to know how many there are so I know what I would have to pay for if I can’t get enough free coins. Also, the amount we have to pay for shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. I’m only on Chapter 13 of a book and it says I need like 3,000 coins or whatever to finish and that’s like $30 worth of coins. That’s the price of ONE hardcover book! We shouldn’t have to pay so much just to read some books. ✓ False AdvertisementI downloaded this with the impression that I could read for free with time limits on chapter opening. It’s no longer the case. I am frustrated because I do buy coins for my fav books but now even the others aren’t having time limits and I refuse to purchase coins for every single book I read. Second, these authors need editors. I am a book editor and I can tell you not a single author here double checks their work or uses spellcheck. Third, you have some authors that are using the AI chat yo write their books and it’s blatantly obvious and brings the value of this platform way down. Despite all this I’ve tried to hold out in hopes it would get better, but I’m about at my wits end. ✓ Don’t like the recent changesI’ve been reading on this app for a few months and have found quite a few great stories. And I was quite happy to wait the hour to read the next chapter or watch the occasional ad to gain coins. But in the last few days I’ve found that none of the stories I’m reading have the hour wait as an option. And I have to watch ads or buy coins instead to read the next chapters. I’m not a wealthy person. I’m actually barely scraping by financially and reading is one of the few joys I have. ✓ The changes are NOT for the betterI initially liked the app when I first downloaded it, didn’t mind occasionally buying coins to open a chapter or two (when down to the last 20 chapters of a book and was low on bonus coins), didn’t even mind waiting an hour for the next chapter to unlock. I though it was brill when an update allowed you to half the waiting time as it was just one advert…..however the latest update is slowly draining my enjoyment, you now have to watch 3! adverts (so some tedious it’s enough to make you want to scream) to unlock a chapter, even then you can only unlock so many chapters in a day (5) before you HAVE no CHOICE but to spend coins! You don’t even have the option of waiting an hour to unlock anymore. Some chapters are relatively cheap - the first few after the free ones. But then the prices skyrocket (30+ coins for 6-8 pages, really?) I’m an avid reading (as long as the storyline is strong I’m willing to give the book a go) but im struggling to find a reason to keep this app at present! ✓ In-app currencyThe app and its features and books are very nice however the in-app currency prices are a bit… high. Sounds dumb i know but hear me out. I understand that apps such as these need ways to make money and support their writers however there are free ways to get the in-app currency includes, reading for preset periods of time or leveling, which is not the problem. While you can read multiple books simply to get the coins for completing the read times they are often not enough to read on and unlock chapters and leveling requires you to spend coins on things that aren't reading in order to level up and get the promised coins. This makes it even harder to unlock chapters without spending real money on coins, which isn’t always an option for readers. ✓ ExpensiveThe app is expensive, you get a few free chapters on each book then have to pay per chapter. Most of the chapters are short so need editing. You also get tasks to do like unlocking a certain amount of chapters and get coins as an award, but the amount you spend to get the award is more than the award you are given. For example is it costs 1800 coins to unlock chapters and yet the reward is only 350 coins, yeah that’s not worth it. In short there needed to be more rewards given to make it fair The stories themselves are good and gripping but have so many errors in them I’d be surprised if any editing or proofreading was done before they get uploaded. They are also drawn out to make them longer than they need to be, so customers spend more money. I think you’d end up paying well over £100 to get a story. Also the way the wallet for the app works is weird. You can’t see how many coins you have, I said you have bonus but it doesn’t partner up with the balance it saids when you buy chapters. ✓ Overpriced - Stick to real booksSaw your advert and thought I would give it a try as love reading. I read all genres and read everywhere. Very shocked that a book works out to be over £25 as the books are broken down every couple of paragraphs not by chapters. Grammar and spelling mistakes in just the 5 chapters I read. You have a brilliant platform to help launch upcoming authors and help shape the stories of tomorrow, why be greedy. ✓ AlphaNovelI can’t believe I’m updating this review for a second time in two days. I used to love this app, even with a lot and I mean a lot need properly editing or just editing in the 1st place. As they can have poor grammar and even worse spelling mistakes. One of the problems is the price of the books it can be anything from 7- 50+ coins a chapter this means the books are extremely expensive. £20-30 minimum. That’s per book if your lucky. The world renowned writers don’t charge that amount for world class books. I like the open chapters every hour but it’s still more that the top selling books out there. Well I did enjoy the free one hour unlock but that NOW been stopped. It’s 3 ads per chapter no free unlock any more. Also there’s a limit to how many ad chapters you can have. It’s such a shame as I loved the books especially the incomplete ones as the anticipation for the next chapter is awesome. But sadly I’m Gonna have to reconsider my subscription. ✓ Lots of faultsSome great reads but require good memory for the gaps between each short chapter. The free chapter every hour is good but there are lots of times when you’ll wait the hour (even get the notification) but when you go on it the chapter hasn’t become available and just shows the hour timer restarting or it gives you the chapter before. You also get a lot of notifications saying Open to get free points/coins but when you click on it nothing happens. The app would be greatly improved if you’d fixed this. This would have been given 5 stars except in the beginning of each book you can opt to wait an hour to unlock a chapter. Then it changes to coins only when you’ve reach a chapter in the 70’s once you’re hooked. Of course you have to purchase coins to finish the book since the chapters are small and you end up reading 5 pages for one chapter and can’t possibly read long enough to get coins through the daily reading challenges. ✓ Lies!Reading alpha Rick and in the book description area it say FREE chapter every 1 hour. The last 20 chapters need coins to unlock. Well I’m about 25-30 chapters away from the last 20 and nothing has unlocked in 9 hours. I’m down to pay for the last 20 chapters but paying for every chapter in an 80 chapter book? No way. The amount of pages in every chapter changes as well as the amount of coins. The stories are good but the editing is crap. You’ll end up spending $40ish dollars or possibly more on what amounts to a $7 paperback. I’m gonna try and free coin my way threw this one book. ✓ What do you mean by unlocks?Even though it says that after an hour the chapter will unlock, you still need to buy it. Why is that? Though there’s that issue the novels aren’t too bad, but the cost is like most other apps. A novel can cost you well over $30 with the amount of money needed for coins to pay for each chapter (which is equivalent to a book’s page worth of reading). If you’re patient just ride with the bonus coins you get from completing tasks, then you can at least read 1-2 chapters every other day..Version: 2.10.0
