✓ Downgrade - Now includes unwanted adsI wish I had known that this "upgrade" was actually a downgrade including ads that you have to pay to remove. A veritable downgrade if you ask me. If I had known I would not have touched it with a barge pole. The calculator will now go into the bin!.Version: 3.0
✓ Nice but incomplete; consider UI design...OK, this is very nice, it offers essentially 2 functional modes that aren't in the built-in calc: the Bit/Integer mode & the Statistics mode. This is significant - but odds are most people won't actually need these functions. The main drawback to TouchCalc is that it is pretty ugly. Sorry... the colors don't actually help usability. And it's getting an extra star for being free.... It is cool if you need these extra functions - otherwise, not sure why the average user would need this..Version: 0

✓ I will be looking for a new calculatorThe previous version of the calculator was all that I needed as an engineer/programmer. It had all of the functionality that was needed and Iwas content with it not being updated any more. That said the new version adds iAds and changes the color scheme. I understand the desire to get paid for your work as you should be. Unfortunately the implemetation of it in this program is poor. Evening moving the ads to the bottom of the screen would help. I liked the amount of space afforded to the display (the non-keypad part of the calculator) in previous versions. It seems that this is where all of the space was taken from for the ad. A splash screen with an ad would be better than and iAd banner. Now the other problem is the color scheme. It looks like an engineer or programmer came up with it. It may be functional but it is not appealing. The old color scheme was much better.I know I can change the colors for my buttons, but it would be better if the original scheme was default. As a side note how in demand was this feature? I know it is a free app and I can go elsewhere. That is exactly what I will be doing..Version: 3.0

✓ For you ignorant people out there...For you ignorant people out there, this is essentially the same thing as the original iPhone + iPod touch calculator in landscape mode. It may look lame once you enter it, but turn it 90 degrees and it will look like the same thing as this TouchCalc. Sure the original leaves out buttons like cotangent, hex, etc., but those are insignificant. This is a waste of 0.1MB..Version: 0

✓ Liquorice allsortsThis review is a mixed bag. It's a decent calculator - but it looks like a jar of sugar candy sweets found long ago in the tuck shop near my first school! These days - and based upon appearance alone - it's not tasty enough, and has been expelled from the over-subscribed maths class of my iPad. However, I should pay tribute to the developer for dedicating time and effort in producing what is actually a very capable calculator, for free. …Oh, did I forget to mention the intrusive advertising? ✓ Ok but fatal flaw in bit/integer modeI was fairly happy with this calc until i realized whenever you change from scientific mode to bit/integer mode you lose the value you are working with. Even putting the value in the memory doesn't work. I could not figure out a way to do calculations in scientific mode and then convert the result to hex. Cut / paste is not an option because I like wifi too much to upgrade to OS 3.0..Version: 0
✓ Ads without warningThis isnt the first app I've had that tried to blackmail users into paying money to get rid of advertisements and it will suffer the same ignomious fate of being deleted. I understand the developer is trying to make money and I have no issue with that. But the honest way would've been to release it as a new app rather than an "update". To retain the forced advertising of the new pay app an "update" that consisted of a new app advertising alert on first launch would've been sufficient. Time to look for another app. I'm willing to pay, but it won't be to this unethical developer..Version: 3.0

It starts out working beautifully, but then becomes less and less accurate, until it doesn't do anything. You can type the numbers and see them on the screen, but then it doesn't solve the equation.
