✓ Poor taste with bettings odds on main screenI’ve noticed an update that automatically displays betting odds of games on the home page screen. This is particularly poor taste as there are many young people using this app that are unnecessarily exposed to this. I understand that this advertisement may bring revenue for the developers, however I would strongly encourage the option/filter for users to ‘opt’ in or out of viewing these. ✓ New advertsSeems to be a common theme. Everyone hates the adverts that pop up for 20-30 seconds and you can’t skip them. I see the developers just come back with the same old comment - it’s a free app and send us the specific details to our email blah blah blah. Suggest the developers try use the app themselves and then they will see how annoying this is. ✓ Fix your playback issues…The app has potential to be good. They have good content and reviews of the games - albeit later than the AFL app. But seriously guys, the thing you have going for you is seperate opinion pieces than the major platforms, but non of it has any difference if the media playback won’t work. Constant crashes, loss of sound, and wrong videos playing in the wrong link. ✓ Quality has reducedI have to agree with the recent reviews. This used to be a brilliant app. It now seems to be a resource hog. It’s constantly locking up and the amount of ads have increased significantly, worst of all are the intrusive video ads that pop up. ✓ Player Profiles Not WorkingThe player profiles do not always load. I use this app to check fantasy scores and stats. When you click on a players name during the match it usually brings up their profile. You can see an up to date fantasy scores break down. At the moment when you press on a player, it brings up a picture of the player but no profile. Is this being fixed? ✓ Data tracking OTTCan literally see my battery drain in real time when using this app. This used to be my preferred game day app but these past few seasons I have to quickly get in and out before my phone burns my hands. This is made all the more difficult by how slow it is to load game/player stats these days as it’s clearly prioritising tracking my data across other apps over feeding me the data I actually want. I’m not sure what they’re collecting that’s so valuable but it’s intense, no other app burns my phone like this one, not even close! Time to switch, it’s been an issue for too long. ✓ Didn’t RefreshI have used this app previously & reasonably happy with it & I noticed the 2018 season updates which looked OK but I didn’t use however when I went from Rd 3 to Rd 4 it was ‘stuck’ in pre-game mode even though I used it for the first time in Rd 4 was Saturday morning, what to do? Delete & install again. May I suggest this wasn’t the first time this has happened to me either over the past 2 or 3 seasons. ✓ Takes too long to loadI don’t know what it is doing in the background, but it takes 5-10 seconds to update the scores when you try to check them. Just the scores, not even the event tracker. ✓ No ability to disable gambling adsI’ve contacted the developers about this. They have no plans to change it. It’s an abysmal decision; even the official app supports this. Gambling advertising is destroying Australian sport and debilitating Australian families. The inability to even disable it with IAP makes this app unsuitable for anyone under 18, which is a flatly ridiculous position to take. Until this is resolved, you should consider this app unusably broken. SportsMate and everyone who works there should be terribly ashamed of themselves. ✓ Love the app. Hate the battery drainI’ve been using this app for about 6yrs I think and I love it. I’ve never had any problems other that the occasional usual freezing issue. Until this year... I have no idea why but the app has become an ultra battery drain. It’s become so bad now that I can’t even glance at footy stories while at work, as I lose about 30% battery life in 3-4mins of app use. ✓ Good try....This app is quite good. However, there are still some errors. 1. The 3rd quarter scores for the home team is always wrong. Every game has this problem. 2. The live text is nowhere to be found. Shouldn't it be in live scores? 3. Are you able to have a screen where the results of the round are shown all at once? ✓ I liked the old version betterI used to love this app and used it often. The "new improved" version has ordinary graphics and is hard to read. I suppose this was written for people with perfect 20/20 vision - it is full of tiny words, bad colour combinations and has lost valuable space that was previously used for footy and now a billboard for advertising - which is distracting. ✓ Footy Live reviewI love this app and have noted its gradual improvement over the years, becoming more comprehensive. It's very well designed and easy to navigate but a couple of things could be improved. The first is that the "worm" in the Action section should never have its calibrations in anything other than multiples of 6 points. Other multiples are a mistake. The second is allowing the adverts to hide one team's score (until you scroll up) spoils the "instant" experience that the app otherwise does so well. -StoneRock50 Another improvement that would work is having a column in “Next Five” showing the current no of points for each team (Yes, there is room, especially in the last 5 rounds when the screen space grows and when things are getting critical. At present you have to flip backwards and forwards between “Next Five” and the Brief Ladder (or the expanded one) to evaluate a team’s likely position in the near future. The telecast no longer puts up player names as they used to, the commentators are often opinionising rather than commentating, so you can’t find out quickly who a player is, whether it’s my team or the opposition’s.
