PANTONE Studio for Positive User Reviews

Invest in the futureI'm more than happy with this app. Sure it's not perfect, but thumbs up to Pantone for investing in the future and creating a fantastic tool. So easy to use and an on-the-run solution for capturing ideas and inspirations. I'm always happy to pay for, and trial, new technologies that are carefully considered, and obviously designed with the customer in mind. Looking forward to receiving the updates..Version: 0

Great App for ArtistsI am using the free version of the app for now and it is fantastic! I am mainly using the images feature to load my artwork and produce a color palette in order to create products based on my art! Great tool..Version: 3.0.24

PerfectThe app is perfect if you want to find a digital colour.Version: 3.0.24

Graphic artistCMYK needed for sure, as for the colour refrence it fails but could be used as a rough guide when the real swatch book is not available. It can only get better from here, thanks for the app..Version: 0

Pantone Rock!Best app ever - I use it heaps, I wish the books and swatches were cheaper to buy from the Pantone store, as I’m a designer, but can’t afford the swatches..Version: 3.0.16

Excellent!I’ve found a purpose for this app that is not what it was intended to be used for, at least it’s not what I used to use Pantone 4 color process for. That being said it’s definitely 5 stars. Creating pallets from my own photos and images and then using those pallets as backgrounds for a new series I’m working on. I suppose if I was paying for access i might have something to complain about, but until that happens I’m good with it as is..Version: 3.0.20

Language OptionHello there. I'm Brazilian and it'd be great to have the option to choose the app language from Portuguese to English back again, which I prefer. Just saying. :).Version: 3.0.11

Great! Can carry all the Pantone swatch books in my pocket. For this price I'm disappointed that this isn't a dual iPhone/iPad app, and indeed that this isn't even available in an iPad version. It's pricey for what you get....Version: 2.3.0

Images function bugPlease fix the images bug that allows you to find colors off of image references. It only shows brown tones and nothing more. Works on my iPhone but not on iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen. Thanks! Also would be great if we had cloud access to port our palettes over from multiple devices.Version: 3.0.24

Love it!I love this app. Will write a proper review when I've used it more, but just one tiny thing I've noticed. When I emailed the Palette to myself the R G B values were all the same value. Seems to set the G and B values to whater the R is. Couple of nice-to-haves: The sort order always reverts to classic when you restart the app. Some way of remembering the last setting used might be useful. It would also be great to see the RGB and HTML values on the colour details page, although you can see this when zooming in on a colour so no biggy. One last thing, some textual explanation of what the harmony choices are might be nice, although I'm sure it's obvious to the more experienced what they are. Great app though, really like it and not at all bothered about the price!.Version: 0

Pantone studio appVery user friendly and easy to use, just download the Pantone studio app and take a picture and it shows all possible colors with cross reference to tcx, fhi nylon, fhi polyester tsx, pastels and neons coated and uncoated, it also easily upload to cloud, photoshop or add to current or new palette. Highly Recommand for fashion designer or graphic designer to try it out..Version: 3.0.23

Indispensable !Je n’utilise plus de charte papier ! Et envoyé un échantillon par la fonction partage est géniale ….Version: 3.0.24

Best Color Reference AppEasily the best color reference app out there... It should be as Pantone has a reputation it should be living up to. But keep the app improving, I’d love to see more and more people loving the app..Version: 3.0.22

Essential for graphic designersI’m a graphic designer for a marketing agency and I would be lost without this app. I think working with this app and the physical copies is great for project workflow and client meetings. It’s made productivity so much better for me. It’s super easy to scroll through quickly and get the colors you’re looking for and even screenshot for quick reference later. I also do character design for a side hobby and this app works great when referencing colors for procreate when I work on my iPad. The yearly subscription is worth it if you are in any design field for a profession. I would go with the month to month subscription if you aren’t sure how often you will be using it or you can have a free week trial to get a better feel for the program itself. Having all the colors at my fingertips is such a great service Pantone put out..Version: 3.0.22

Great for editorsAn app all editors should have.Version: 3.0.19

ColorsSolid UI and it’s nice to have categorized colors to explore from.Version: 3.0.32

Pantone. It take FOREVER! to load my images..Version: 3.0.20

Pantone is the Google of printed COLOR.As Industrial designer and graphic designer I have used Munsell, DuPont, learned with ColorAid and whatever that older Japanese system was called. No one does it better than Pantone. I can’t imagine how they could do it better ..but .. I’ll bet they are working on that!.Version: 3.0.20

Love it but....The app great makes it easier to view Pantone colors quickly. One issue I noticed that you might want to fix is when your in the section with all the color of the year colors every single one is labeled color of year 2019 and I know for fact the 2019 color is living color and I know for certain the ones from previous years. Just thought I’d point it out..Version: 3.0.19

Pantone, my new religion!Simply brilliant app! Of course it's not perfectly color accurate but it has some sweet features. Little bit pricey though..Version: 2.2.0

I use this almost every dayAside from using this app religiously for work I love using it for fun too. Colour is my thing as a website designer and collecting palettes this way is the dream..Version: 3.0.29

PerfectAs a photographer this helps me out a lot when editing but also showcasing my work when using Pantone color ways too.Version: 3.0.17

Pretty cool!I'm not positive how dead on the colors are in the images, but I find this EXTREMELY helpful. I know there are multiple factors...lighting, the camera & the app. Hard to pinpoint which is the variable that I can manipulate to make most accurate image of color. But OVERALL....GENIUS!.Version: 3.0.11

PantoneAs a printer and designer and love the trade of print from letterpress to digital in 27 years and the colour changes that pantone have produced. I have found this little app to be of use showing to customers, but you must have to have the knowledge of how colour changes with rgb, cmyk, and explain. I must say if you are a designer you must have the Colour Bridge euro book (used to be solid to process book) to actually show the difference in colour of the final finished product..Version: 0

Pantone’s professional colour picker. When you pay for the subscription you get the full pallet of Pantone colours. When you pick a colour and press the export button in the top right had corner you can save the colour as a wallpaper. I then went into my photos and there it was, in classic Pantone post card style. Worth every penny. This is an app for professionals and my digital art work uses colour. Pantone in the art and design world really is synonymous with high standards..Version: 3.0.24

The colors LOVERI would like to see back the Parallax effect for the colors, it was and is still important for me and lots of my colleagues who are asking me to tell you that. Please bring it back additionally to what we already have but as an option to choose in between. New colors, new technologies, new inspirations. What would you need more !.Version: 3.0.20

Almost thereThe issues I have are few. When I live stream the camera and get a color palette, taking the picture results in a different palette. Purple and green change to brown. Also, I get 5 colors and there is no way to increase that so 7 or more. I can't pick a color: that is, when the picture has red in it, the palette may not include red. I can't find a way to email a palette to someone else. I like the inspirations and the ability to enter a chip number to get the color..Version: 3.0.26

Great for the designer on the go...All the pantone books in your pocket! Nice app - all web & print designers should have this..Version: 0

Very GoodVery good app, the sheer number of features and level of detail makes it worth the price. I'm really hoping for ongoing development as I'm sure there's much more that can be added, for example I'd like to be able to swipe through zoomed-in colours in the same way as you can with zoomed in photos in the native iPhone photo library. Overall a great product, and definitely worth the price. Update: I'm reducing my rating of this app by 1 star, as with the most recent update (1.01) the developers failed to implement or address the one feature everyone is asking for: CMYK colour breakdowns. This is a premium price for an app, and that means that part of how I rate the app comes down to how much support and ongoing development is given..Version: 0

Thanks for restoring purchases & colour palettes! So the original app that I paid $12 for has been replaced by an app that is practically useless unless I pay again for a subscription in order to access the full colour range. Plus, now I've lost all the colour palettes I'd saved and referred to regularly. I'd like the old app or my $12 back! UPDATE: full access and saved palettes are back! Thanks for listening to your customers. I'm only withholding the 5th star because of the inconvenience caused by the previous "update"..Version: 3.0.5

Very PromisingGreat app and useful for carrying around colour palettes. Can't rename each palette though, not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if there is a fault in the app. Can't wait for updates!.Version: 0

Favorite appIt becomes the most powerful app in my phone. Use it for every design assignment m.Version: 3.0.11

FantasticUse it all the time. It's great if i see an image and think, wow, those colors work really well. And five is enough. Occasionally i use a color picker as well if need be..Version: 3.0.11

Color Nerd FunLow brow review - basically I just like pointing my phone at something and knowing what the Pantone colors are. I made and ASE file of my cat’s coat. I use it for professional stuff too. Blah blah blah. I made ASE files of my cat’s coat colors, and some crazy casino carpet, and a sweet neighborhood low-rider, and another ofvmy cat. Color nerd fun 100%..Version: 3.0.22

Only works in portrait orientationVery nice app, does what it’s supposed to .. but it is locked to the portrait (vertical) orientation on the iPad, which makes it very awkward for me to use .. since I use the keyboard folio, which sits in the landscape (horizontal) orientation.Version: 3.0.24

A good start!Absolutely brilliant concept that hopefully will improve with each new release. Colours didn't match our Pantone book so not really useful other than as a rough guide. Understand that it is hard to compare a printed swatch with a backlit screen but.... Would love to see the plastic colour range added. Also the metallic pantones too..Version: 0

Love This App!I love using this app for editing my pictures because it allows me to take full advantage of the color chooser. It helps me in creativity in choosing projects as well. I wish though that there was an iPad version of this app because it would allow me to do so much more with what Pantone has to offer..Version: 3.0.15

Liiiiiiit 🔥🔥🔥If you're a designer or an artist of any kind this will make your life so much easier when it comes to creating color schemes. 7/7.Version: 3.0.11

Absolutely love it!I've been waiting for something like this to come along and now it has! As a designer, I quite often see colours when I'm out on my travels and wonder what Pantone reference they are because I think they'd look good on some work I'm doing... Now I can find out instantly! Not only that but I can spend the long and boring train journey home after work, building colour palettes and generally messing about with colours! Brilliant..Version: 0

An amazingly helpful app ...... that works brilliantly. My only issue is that the Email Palette function doesn't get through some email client spam filters..Version: 0

Life saverIf your an artist like me who has trouble deciding on colors this is a life saver. My favorite feature is that if you pick a color it shows you all the color harmonies you could use! Only downside is it’s a little expensive if you want all the colors. But overall worth it if you need help with color..Version: 3.0.24

Great appLove it! But it would be AMAZING if I could load my own designs into the studio..Version: 3.0.24

Graphic DesingerGreat app although it would be better if more than 5 swatches could be saved as a 'palette' and it dosn't include a CMYK alternative along with the others! Love that it gives me access to TCX and TPX though as Photoshop dosen't!.Version: 0

Good, but could be improved...On some levels this is a really good application. Pantone is the worldwide standard for colour and in this respect it's a useful tool that designers will use repeatedly. On the plus side, the application includes swatch books for the Pantone Matching System, (PMS) in solid coated, solid uncoated, solid matt as well as the new Goe system in both coated and uncoated and home range colours for cotton and paper. The camera facility is very useful for capturing colours and then getting the nearest Pantone equivalent, having said this the colour being captured does need to be lit well because otherwise the results can be very askew. On the negative side, you can't view a colour's values in all palettes at the same time so there's no ability to cross reference. In terms of the PMS to Goe system this would have been really really useful as at the moment there is no way of doing this either in any application or via a website. Come on Pantone, bring out an update..Version: 0

Perfect For quick Pantone ReferenceThis is a great app for a quick Pantone references quick swatch creations and to even pull theme colours from a photo. Obviously this doesn’t replace Pantone fabric swatches or paper cards but it’s a great app for on the run !.Version: 3.0.32

Good but obvious ommisionsGenerally I think this app is quite good. Forget the colour accuracy to your computer and printer, but to get colour combinations on the move it is good. As a textile design this is very useful to photograph trends and pick colour combinations. However two functions that are missing that I would like are 1. the abilty to reorder the colours in the palette and 2. the abilty to increase the nnumber of colours in a pallet from the set five to ten. ie a double row of swatches..Version: 0

App keeps crashing when trying to read articlesHello. Love the app but it crashes every time I try to read the articles. I have updated and restarted phone and it’s a bug in the app. Please fix! Thank you..Version: 3.0.11

What happened?I paid $10 for the full app when I started graphic design classes and now I have to pay for a sub? Ugh... the UI design is better though... *edit* I was told by the developer I could restore my purchase and it would be fine. 🎉 thank goodness because it’s so much easier than carrying the deck around with me!.Version: 3.0.11
