PANTONE Studio for Negative User Reviews

App doesn't workUnfortunately this app does not work. I was hopefully even after reading the negative reviews, but as soon as you click on fandeck you are locked into that screen and cannot push done or cancel. Something must have happened after January 11 when the bad reviews started flowing in. Don't waste your money..Version: 2.1.0

Incompatible with iPadWhen I open it on my iPad, it shows up as the phone resolution.....so I have a huge black border and a phone layout in the middle lol?.Version: 3.0.20

CrashingI love this app! The only problem is it will crash and then you can't open it again..Version: 3.0.10

Doesn’t even loadStuck on the “hmmm, this is taking longer than expected” loading screen for an eon. Deleted and reinstalled, still get the same issue. Disappointed..Version: 3.0.32

Not worth your timeTerrible app now, used to be great now all the useful bits behind an overpriced subscription model....Version: 3.0.15

Can’t get past the loading screenAs soon as I open it just stays on the loading screen forever and I can never get past it. I’ve tried over and over again multiple times and it’s always the same..Version: 3.0.29

Waste Of TimeThis offers nothing about formulating a colour . I’ll stick to my fan book of PMS colours ..Version: 3.0.32

App Crashes on startupCant open the app, it crashes immediately. iPhone 8 software is up to date. Poor effort Pantone!! 💩.Version: 3.0.16

Colors don’t matchAny time I try to pull up an image to see the color selection, it just shows a range of brown colors, not any other color in the image. I had images of solid colors, but it’s still showing brown. There is something wrong with this. The app otherwise is very clunky and hard to use. I wish this would work, but it’s horrible. For $30 a year, it’s hardly worth it..Version: 3.0.23

It was better beforeColors were free before the new update, The basics are not even there unless payment is made? How about free basic colors, and one off payment for everything..Version: 2.6.2

Not able to buy a subscriptionNot able to buy a subscription, cannot see the option to allow me to purchase a subscription….Version: 3.0.32

Free version is uselessThis is probably great for professionals to use but if you are looking for a color app to play around with color combinations - don’t bother. Unless you pay for the full thing it is useless..Version: 3.0.32

Update DOESN'T restore purchasesSo it seems after all the pressure and complaints Pantone has decided to give back access to all colours if you paid for the old (and not handicapped) version of the app. However, the 'restore purchases' method does nothing. I still only have the minuscule selection of colours, therefore making the app completely useless. It's like buying a keyboard, and a software upgrade removes half the keys. I don't want to subscribe to the rest of the alphabet!.Version: 3.0.3

Not BadMiss the colour swatch book interface. Wish the app was calibrated for the screen, they all seem out by quite a bit..Version: 3.0.9

Total Rubbish.Depending on the camera angle you get a completely different colour. Doing it manually, it could even find the colour I wanted when I inputted the Pantone colour..Version: 3.0.25

This is the first app I have felt compelled to mark down its rating.Complete waste of your time. If you're a designer, just move right on passed this. It has a lot of potential, but what you get from the immediate download is an awful UI. The best way to illustrate this app is a color wheel that has been placed in a shredder, shaken up, and then displayed..Version: 3.0.14

It doesn’t work at all!It didnt work at all on my iPad Pro… Even though it installed. It opened I typed a colour name in the search and it said no search results! I tried again with a different colour NADA ZERO… completely useless. I have now deleted it..Version: 3.0.32

Can’t even log inIf you login or even creat another new account doesn’t even let in.Version: 3.0.24

Cool concept, hard to understand appThis app is really hard to understand how to use, the tutorial says nothing. I can't even figure out how to link it to my instagram, I thought I would be able to analyse the images on my Insta to see what colours I post most often and maybe get a theme going but can't figure it out. It's a really cool concept though and I love the feature of taking photos and you can see it analysing the colours in live mode, but this should be the first thing you show people not hidden behind multiple tabs!!! Frustrating and a better tutorial would be useful instead I can tell all you want is to trick me into buying your subscription..Version: 3.0.11

Used to be goodNot used in a while. Now.....just deleted it ......and going back to paper. Meddling when not needed.Version: 3.0.17

Very limited functionalityLike the way you can find colours through the camera, but searching for colours is useless as it usually comes back with empty results. Can find more Pantone colours online..Version: 3.0.19

Doesn’t workWorks completely fine until I pay and subscribe for all colours and stops working won’t load any images so entirely useless.Version: 3.0.24

Been Broken for 2 yearsSeems like this app has been broken for two years at least. I couldn’t even open it and just got a loading screen. Weird that Pantone or Apple even keeps it on the App Store!.Version: 3.0.32

Does not load any moreDoes not load on latest ios.Version: 3.0.24

Seriously?!So what you’re saying is that I need to but a subscription to VIEW all the colours? I just use the colours for backgrounds and photos, there is no need to “unlock” colours to do my hobby. Just go on Pinterest to get all the colours 😒.Version: 3.0.20

MyPantoneThis is an iPhone app... Why does it say it's compatible with the iPad When it's not. I mean what designer wants a pixely Blown up half size iPhone app on an iPad when browsing colours...? Am I missing something here....Version: 2.2.0

Lacking in featuresI use my PMS book to death as a designer, so I was excited to find a digital version. But, you can't save palettes larger than 5 swatches, or save and organise schemes into a useful library or to Pinterest which is where I already store all my color reference images. I don't really want to share colors to Facebook or Twitter! Extracting color from images is a poor feature too because it samples screen pixels with no option to deselect unwanted values. It needs a fuzzy slider or cluster selection option. For the price, this app is not great value for professional designers..Version: 2.3.1

Used to be a great appUsed to use this app a lot and loved it. For the past 2+ years, it hasn’t worked on any of my devices, despite reinstalling it multiple times. It just freezes and never moves beyond “Hmm this is taking a bit longer than usual” which is quite disappointing..Version: 3.0.32

Unbelievable CrooksPantone continues set the gold standard for ripping off its customers. I bought this premium app years ago for $10. I never would have bought it if I knew I was just renting the app and that Pantone would steal my money and then have the nerve to ask me for more. Replace your swatch books every year!! Buy these new colours that for some reason aren't included with our system!! We should all say enough and start using Open Colour Standard. Shame on you charlatans! I want my money back!.Version: 3.0.3

Share feature doesn’t workUsing on iPhone and iPad: share feature doesn’t work. UX is confusing. Lots of great additional features, but hidden within just a few options. Interface needs to be rethought..Version: 3.0.32

Buyer's remorseI only bought this because Pantone is phasing out their X-Ref app, which I liked a lot. I hoped for roughly 10x the cost it would be as useful, but I don't think it is. You can no longer (for instance) type in HEX values and get the nearest Pantone colour. A real drag. I don't think I'd have spent the money if I'd known that..Version: 2.3.1

It’s a nice additionI am a textile artist by hobby. I do love taking pictures of items that have attractive contrast colors. The app is helpful in assisting what type of medium I will use, oils, pencils or crayons! I see though that it isn’t my lack of knowledge in this app use that I receive wrong hues. I don’t have the type of light needed to drag around with me everywhere so I use what I like in the info the app provides..Version: 3.0.32

Please fix it. Can’t open the app and crashed every time,Keep loading for a long time then crash. Xs Max Nov.5 2018.Version: 3.0.17

Doesn't loadApp gets stuck on the loading screen & has never progressed further. Have tried it on two different phones. I noticed it hasn't been updated in over 10 months so I'd guess that might be why. Unable to use it because of this..Version: 3.0.32

Sad as I feel this app could be so helpfulI am unable to open the app at all. Shows the first page doesn’t load further and displays - hmmmm, this is taking a bit longer than expected. No matter how long I wait nothing changes. I have deleted and downloaded the app again numerous times and still can not progress into the app. Help needed!!.Version: 3.0.32

Please fixIt seems like it would be a good app but it just never opens, it just says “this is taking a bit longer than expected”. It doesn’t kick me out of the app, but it just never loads..Version: 3.0.24

Difficult to understand, lack featuresI was hoping to find a tool that would help with my workflow in terms of design, illustration and more. But the app is difficult to use, the subscription did not provide any unique features, and the it takes a lot of getting use to to really understand how to properly use the app. I would appreciate more customizability to fit my work flow, and more resources and references, the studio function is very useful for finding the right material but very limited..Version: 3.0.19

Lot of colors are missing or miscalculatedIf you scan in a photo it will often show you colors on it that are close the the original one but not really the exact one even though they exist in the pantone family. Search function also rarely works. Scanning colors also rarely works accurately. Could be way better..Version: 3.0.32

Bad navigation and can’t upload imagesNo option to upload images from camera roll. Extremely difficult to navigate So disappointed in this app as it has so much potential.Version: 3.0.32

GarbageGarbage pricing structure. $20 a month for what?? For a creative company they’re sure not creative with how they make money. Everyone is charging subscriptions these days. This will just give other colour companies a chance to gain ground in the market.Version: 3.0.32

App would not load on iPadTried reloading and renownloading multiple times but got stuck on loading screen Edit: after deleting, re-downloading, and enabling location services (which is totally unnecessary for a color picking app, thanks for selling our info) it finally worked after letting my iPad sit and load for 10 minutes. Added a star since it actually loaded..Version: 3.0.29

BadLoading takes forever, colour matching to even screenshots taken on the same device the app is running on are completely inaccurate, no way (that I saw) to delete photos you’ve uploaded or to otherwise rescind access to them (unselecting them and resetting the app do not work)..Version: 3.0.32

App doesn’t workI was going to use this to find a color for my bathroom but anytime I load it up it gives me a literal blue screen with a loading sign framed by the pantone box saying “hmm this is taking longer than expected” and that’s literal seconds from opening it. beyond that from other reviews it sounds like I wouldn’t haven been able to even look at colors to pick from. FIX IT..Version: 3.0.32

UselessMy photos won’t load, and no it’s not my internet connection..Version: 3.0.20

Broken SearchThe search function only works occasionally and it lacks some really obvious features. This is almost a really useful app. You can't expect any colour accuracy on an iphone so an app would never be a replacement for the books. But as a quick reference tool for checking Pantone numbers and getting cross references against other Pantone books, closest CMYK's, find shades of the same colour (this function isn't in there but it should be) it could be great. If only you could reliably search for a Pantone number instead of scrolling through the entire range of books..Version: 2.3.1

Won’t loadUsed to be ok but won’t even load any more..Version: 3.0.20

Won’t openHow can this be App of the day if the darn thing won’t open?.Version: 3.0.29

Terrible. So I pay for an app that's information dense, usefull, and usable and it gets replaced by something bloated with a confusing UI. But worse - now you want me to pay a subscription to regain the features I've already paid for? What's wrong with you people?.Version: 3.0.0

Doesn’t load.Have never been able to get past the main loading screen. All it says is “hmmm, this is taking a bit longer than expected”. This app seems like it would be very useful to me, I just wish it would load!.Version: 3.0.24

Crashes on openingAfter initial screen comes up, the app crashes. 😔.Version: 3.0.16

Needs a lot of workI can see the potential for this app and it would be incredibly useful if it actually worked. You can’t just search for general colour terms like “grey blue” - even if you put a Pantone number in it seems to come back with no results. The colour swatches from images is great. I’d love to be able to just flick through colour books to find the right shade I’m looking for. That’s what anybody wants from a Pantone reference!.Version: 3.0.24

It crashes after I paid for an upgrade.....I want my money back!I want my money back please.Version: 3.0.20

Not full accessPantone appear to be borrowing some marketing tricks from Adobe. Free app that only has no real capability. To get ‘full access’ they want you to fork out $7 a month..that’s $84 a year or $420 over 5 years. Really..just buy a colour book..Version: 3.0.15

Doesn’t pick colours accuratelyI don’t find this app user friendly at all. When uploading a photo from my camera roll, it doesn’t accurately pick colours. The shade palette is limited and I can’t hover over the exact shade I want it to read..Version: 3.0.23

Not helpful in the press shopAs a press operator this ap is useless to me. The colors don't match a real fanbook. Read the fine print I guess..Version: 0

I love this app, but please fix interfaceThe interface is not intuitive at all. Hard to find existing photos you’ve previously taken. That being said, I absolutely love the concept of this app, and it has been really inspirational finding/ explaining color palettes to clients..Version: 3.0.32

Pantone's says it's just for "fun"Pantone replied to my concern that the colours don't match up with the cardboard fan. Guess what, turns out that, according to Pantone, this app is just for "fun", and we shouldn't rely on it. So maybe they should advertise it in the "games" category. I feel ripped off and will delete it from my itouch because it's just useless..Version: 0

Colors are not accurateI downloaded the app yesterday & I’ve already cancelled my subscription. I’m so glad I compared it to a brand new formula guide because none of the colors I checked matched, I even tried adjusting the settings on my iPhone. I was really hoping this would work..Version: 3.0.11

EmbarrassingCan’t pick or browse a Pantone book, can’t search colours, and very hard to use. The developers have tried to make this app look “fun” with all it’s fancy screens and effects where in actuality we just need it to be useful. When I pick an image, the colours sometimes aren’t even close..Version: 3.0.31

Hmmm this is taking a bit longer than expectedIs the only screen I ever see on an app I paid a considerable amount for. SO unimpressed..Version: 3.0.24

Needs CMYK & swatches are not accurate! Not a bad start to the app I have been waiting for but needs CMYK options for printing and also an option like the old Pantone books that had the Pantone swatch on the left and it's nearest CMYK match on the right. Hopefully some updates will add these. Well done Pantone for finally pulling your finger out and releasing an app but could do better. I would have happily paid more if it was a complete designer app. I would also like the option to create a client list folder much like the contact list on the iPhone where I can save the pantones each client use. IMPORTANT NOTE: colours on here are not very accurate so this application is no substitute for the proper colour guides. Until the colours are matched more accuratly I doubt I will even use this app..Version: 0

Doesn’t workKeeps loading. can’t use it on iphone 12.Version: 3.0.32

Easier to use before subscription pricingPretty well useless now. Don't do it unless you want to spend money and not get reasonable colour codes..Version: 3.0.19

Not pulling accurate colors from photosI was ready to fall in love with this app... but it’s way off in marching colors from photos. No way I could use this professionally. Trying to move/drag the selection circle on the same patch of color in a photo (in hopes of it actually capturing the correct matching color)results in some muddied, far off range of neutrals when trying for a light blue, and a vibrant violet was sadly reduced to a muddied mauve..Version: 3.0.24

No FunctionallyThis app doesn’t appear to do anything. Access the color library appears to require an account, but when you click on the option to start a free trial, the app takes you to a screen where there is nothing to click on. This app should be removed from the App Store..Version: 3.0.32

Not good for lithoCould be useful if contained the ink mixes for litho printing..Version: 3.0.17

Complete ripoff DO NOT UPGRADEI have already paid for this app and the full swatches. This latest update REMOVES THE FULL SWATCHES and now charges you a monthly or yearly premium of almost £45 a year for an app! Your marketing company is having an April fools joke surely? This is not a perfect colour representation as its flawed due to it being on an i device with varying screen brightness an temperatures, so why are you expecting a premium price for a non premium product. Technically you have with drawn what I originally paid for! I am angry, disappointed and disgusted. Do not upgrade, it only removes features an asked for them to be restored for x10 time the cost per year..Version: 2.4.1

It has changedIt indeed used to be better before updated it..Version: 3.0.17

Terrible appThis app used to be great, so I decided to download it again for the current design work I’m doing. What the hell have they done to it?!! I can’t even complain about much because the app crashes straight after loading anyway!! 😡.Version: 3.0.17

App no longer worksI’ve been using this app for quite some time and it no longer loads on my iPhone 🙁.Version: 3.0.32

Doesn't work as advertised, a total waste of moneyThis app is so poorly designed that its laughable if it wouldn't have cost me 10 bucks. The palettes when loaded are so small that you can't see their names, when you search a palette and find one, you are supposed to be able to add it to your favourites, but of course that function doesn't work, and no matter what you try, you can't save the palette for viewing later on. If you email the palette to yourself through the email function built into the App, it emails a black palette regardless of what you've picked. This is a total rip-off, and its amazing that a company like Pantone would jeopardize their reputation with such a shoddy piece of software..Version: 0

It won’t even open!It just says ... Hmm. This is taking longer than expected ....... ☹️.Version: 3.0.23

Great App But Not OpeningLove this app! However has not been loading opening on my phone all of yesterday and today so far ! I have tried everything I can think of and I need it for work . Quite disappointed with that because the app is so great!.Version: 3.0.17

Crashes when I try to shareI really like the photo color identifier. Really helpful to me as an artist who needs to identify colors in a photo that I need to paint, but this app crashes every time I try to share. I’m on the free trial version now, but it isn’t worth paying for if this sharing feature doesn’t get fixed. I have a two year old iPad that is only 50% full. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and that didn’t fix it either..Version: 3.0.24

Doesn’t work/open at all2017 iPad Pro user here. Whenever I open the app it’s just stuck on the load screen “hmm this is taking a bit longer than expected”..Version: 3.0.29

Why is Apple allowing this app in the store??!?Why is Apple allowing this app which does not function in the app store??!? I suppose this is the new norm, buy one of their phones, have to pay for the cables to charge and use it, have to pay for the cube to charge and use it, have to pay for the dongles to have normal functionality to use it and then you pay for apps that dont work on it and never get a developer response to address the non functioning app issues just keep depositing those user checks! Great job. [Previous review] Why will this app not open passed the blue screen that states its taking longer than expected to open? We paid for this and now its not working. We want a fn refund!.Version: 3.0.32

Finally!Excited to see this released, especially by Pantone themselves. Not a replcement for the swatches, but it allows me to lookup specifics and I get a general idea of the colour. I love the app, but believe it could use a few improvements... Definately needs CMYK details for the individual colours. I'd really like the ability to convert CMYK to Pantone, could make it an add-on for a couple of bucks (don't make it a seperate app). I'd like the ability to increase/decrease the swatches in the palette. Some of the artwork I have has eight seperate Pantone colours, others just two. Give the app the ability to output to TV. You could then show the colours in a slide show (with/without details) or side by side. Obviously, the colours will be most likely off, but it would still be useful. Any chance of reading attachments; *.ase etc?.Version: 0

Epic FailI thought the new chromatic books were bad. Now you go and take the app THAT I PAID FOR and give it an "upgrade". 1. I did not ask for this "upgrade" I'd like my old app back 2. You can stick your monthly subscription fee in your pipe and smoke it. Clearly you're smoking something... 3. This app has gone from a great, easy to use tool to a waste of memory. Let me know when you really upgrade something. That means MAKE AN IMPROVEMENT! Not rip off customers who have already paid..Version: 3.0.2

I can't quite tell how this is now helpfulI bought this app ages ago when it was still handy for building colour pallets on the go and cross referencing colours on business trips. Now Pantone seem to have updated that app into something that you have to subscribe to and will only allow you to use a limited amount of colours until you have signed in. Sadly this is an app that I will now be removing from my device. I feel let down by Pantone who seemed to have backtracked on the original app version and will now be changing over to physical (non Pantone) colour standards for all my production styles in the future just for ease of duplication..Version: 3.0.5

App crashesApp crashes!.Version: 3.0.16

Convoluted and pointless for printCan’t trust phone screen calibration to the point that color books in this app become pointless. Who would trust this app instead of the printed colors books? And you want to charge me again for access to all the color swatches when I have already purchased the color books? Yeah, I’ll pass. And the style section was limited and unnecessarily complicated to use... But who really would use it that doesn’t already have photoshop?.Version: 3.0.23

Not up to dateThis app (purchased and updated) doesn’t include up to date information from Pantone website, color of the year shows for 2020 and not 2021, I expect a value for my purchase!.Version: 3.0.32

App no longer works? As many people are saying, this app simply doesn’t load anymore. Would it require an update? As it is, it’s non-functional. Tested on latest ios..Version: 3.0.32

UselessThe app takes 10 min to load and search results come empty..Version: 3.0.32

Needs automatic updatesI enjoy this app but it never updates…I still have the color of the year from two years ago…that’s not helpful..Version: 3.0.32

BluesI find no mater what I photograph the same shade of blue appears. Doesn't give me a variation of color shades or options of what I'm trying to duplicate. Confused on how to use this. If formulary for mixing no recipe given. I was looking for scale and name given to shade for ease if purchase. This application was difficult to achieve result desired..Version: 3.0.32

How does this work?I’ve never given a bad review to any app but I simply cannot figure out how to work this app. I want to enter a PMS# and build a colour palette from it. I couldn’t even locate the Pantone colour no matter how I entered it. Perhaps the paid version is significantly better but I’m not willing to pay and find out that it’s not. Disappointing..Version: 3.0.24

Difficult and clumsyHas anyone worked out this app? I would love to use it because it has the potential but I am finding it really difficult to use. The Home Screen only has the camera or search buttons and it breaks down very often. I once uploaded a picture and actually got some colours I wanted to work with, but don’t ask me how I got there because I can’t even tell. Please sort this out!.Version: 3.0.32

Baaad updateSince update. No more swatch book browsing !! Very disappointed !!!.Version: 3.0.9

Okay appLove the idea but everytime I try to link my Instagram account there’s always an error and it will fail to link it. Very frustrating..Version: 3.0.24

The app is not loadingI installed and removed the app few times but still it’s not opening..Version: 3.0.29

Designer bewareIt's a neat toy, I'll give it that. The app simply doesn't cut it on a press floor. The colours are way out to lunch when compared to a printed piece. I understand it's a backlit source, but if it doesn't match, what good is it? Pantone 295 C more closely resembles 285. That's too far out. The photo feature also falls short. A photo in bright natural light, taken of a solid block of Pantone 200 C on 99 bright white stock, picks up blues and purples only, not a single red even when choosing with the eyedropper. In short, don't show your clients anything but conceptual colour choices and don't trust the photo feature. It ain't gospel, kids! Impress me with an update, Pantone. I want to love this app!.Version: 0

Agree with that guyI believe originally we were asked to pay £7.99 for the app. Overpriced etc but it worked, scroll thru the swatches, nice and simple and speedy. Now it looks like a John Lewis shop, I can bring up a colour palette of millions of random colours with an app already on my Mac. I agree with the other guy, asking people to sign up and pay again is one sure way to alienate your users. I sadly don't have a back up of the old version but if the other guy could post it somewhere useful we can all continue to be creative, which is what we all want to do, apart from Pantone of course....Version: 3.0.2

Deleting features and putting them behind a paywall! So I happily bought this app 7 years ago as it was a wonderful way to get and show Pantone colors to customers while out in the field. Then they updated it to a new version which took away all of the colors so now the app I bought and paid for wants me to subscribe for a monthly reductions fee to show my customers "kinda sorta close" equivalents of the colors they are looking for. WTF? Seriously...let me redownload the previous version at least! Such a scam!!!.Version: 3.0.8

Wont start without location servicesWont start without location services?.Version: 3.0.32

Doesn't workIt starts up forever, or maybe never. I have never been able to see how it's supposed to work..Version: 3.0.32

How do you get the old version back?I want to go back to the old version the one I already paid for, why should I pay more? If I knew I had to pay more I would have never updated to this version..Version: 3.0.1

App doesn’t openDoesn’t open on my iPhone 13 pro..Version: 3.0.32

Useless, dont buy itThis is pretty much useless, more of a gimmic thing aimed at designers for comparing swatch colours! If your a Tradesperson steer clear and save your money. Im a Trade qualified printer of 25 years and got this thinking it would have all the current pantone ink mix's and use it as a pocket reference guide to PMS ink colour mix ingredients and percentages and it doesnt have any. It only has RGB and Lab percentages which is for PC moniter colour matching, all it is, is a fancy iluminated swatch book that you cant use for anything!!!!!!!!!! waste of ten bucks! DONT BUY IT!! Pantone- pick your game up! there isnt even a user guide in existence!.Version: 2.2.0

Hard to work App great concept thoNavigation around app is really confusing. Some features I originally played with I can't find any longer!! Definitely not very intuitive and tutorial is hopeless, just 5 photos that say nothing. On the positive side, I do love the concept of the App and ill definitely use it for my art...if I don't give up on it from sheer frustration. I know what I want is there, but where?? Pricey subscription will see after a year if I'll actually renew...Version: 3.0.11

Incomplete and overpricedThe app seems to include every single Pantone collection... except the one I need (Plastic Standard Chips). Super frustrating! And I don't understand why I can only search by color name or number. If I don't know the designation of the color I am looking for, I can't enter it into a search! And entering in a generic name gives hundreds of results (many completely unrelated!). It's nearly impossible to know if I'm getting the closest match. The RGB values are never the same collection to collection, even for the same number. I have to go to each individual collection, look for a close visual match, and then check the RGB values. Not very efficient or helpful. The search function should allow RGB input so the closest match can easily be found. Overall, the app is somewhat difficult to navigate. I seem to have to tap way too many times to get to the information I want. And, for me, geared too much towards design. I need something more technical. So, not worth the money..Version: 3.0.11

Contact form fails like the AppJust updated to the latest version of the App. Now, the App crashes as soon as you search a Pantone number. Tried to contact support via their own reporting form and on an iPhone that too fails. There is no check box viewable or checkable on the form. The “I authorise Pantone to contact me by phone or email” is there but no box that can be checked, very frustrating. If you design an App for a mobile platform surely all facets of that App including reporting forms should at least work on that platform..Version: 3.0.18

What a wraughtCompletely unbelievable!! I purchased this app a year ago & decided to update just now. I have lost all the previous capabilities I originally purchased it for. Now I have to pay a monthly subscription!!!? I only use the app once or twice every 3 months. Worst update ever!!!! Infuriating!.Version: 3.0.0

PoorI'm a freelance designer meaning I'm on the go alot. myPantone stood out as being a perfect application for capturing and identifying colours whilst on the move but I must admit that I'm bitterly disappointed, usability and navigation is easy and yes you can select all of the colour books that you ever dreamed of, it is RGB but that is a given and colour matching will not be exact, sounds great so far, but i would expect it to be at least close enough to allow you to get back and determine what is what but this is not the case. Each time I have used this application it really hasn't delivered and has been pretty useless. Yes it is under £6 and yes it is fun to flick through but in terms of actual colour identification you may as well carry the physical book around with you as this really won't be any use to you..Version: 0

Doesn’t workUnfortunately this app didn’t work at all! Kept on saying “hmm this is taking longer than expected”.....Version: 3.0.32

Don’t BotherDifficult to use. No guide on how to use. Wasted my time downloading and now have to waste my time deleting..Version: 3.0.20

UselessThis app used to work. Now it’s just a blue screen with “hmm, this is taking longer than expected.” Don’t waste your time until it’s fixed..Version: 3.0.32

Hard to navigate and will not linked to other appsThey promote this app’s ability to use images from your Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest accounts but it won’t even link to your accounts in order to be able to use. Seems like this app is in dire need of an update. Don’t waste your money on a subscription..Version: 3.0.24

Really poorly madeIncredibly expensive for the poor app that it is. Be sure when you delete it - and delete it you will - that you also delete your subscription. Else you will get slammed monthly for something you deleted hours after downloading. (Like me).Version: 3.0.11

How is this worth $5 a month? The app is extremely difficult to navigate, lots of hidden navigation and features. I paid for the subscription so that I could connect my adobe account, etc, and I couldn't get it to work. I want to like this but just can't..Version: 3.0.11

App won’t openAs a designer I’ve been desperately trying to find an app to create colour palettes from images. But this app won’t even open. Utterly useless..Version: 3.0.24

OkNot allowing me to index my photos after I downloaded them all. I try to press continue in the settings but it’s not taking me anywhere. I only got this app was to get a palette from photos I already took..Version: 3.0.15

Free version does not work, impossible to try for freeNo clue of the paid version but this does not work. Was hoping for the best even with all the bad reviews however... wasted five minutes trying to get it to work, wasting another 30 seconds here to warn you 😂.Version: 3.0.23

Pay twice?I bought this app a while ago. Then they forced me to upgrade and pay for the app again. What a joke..Version: 3.0.17

Not even loadingWhen it did load, it was not user-friendly and quite limited. Would love to live this app so hopefully the devs will improve it..Version: 3.0.17

Interface Poorly DesignedThis is incredibly frustrating. Designed by some ADD nitwit with understanding of intuitive interface design. Don't waste your time, buy a swatch book!.Version: 3.0.10

Share not workingShare function doesn’t work on my iPad Pro, once the image style is selected and you click share, it opens a window and then closes it instantly. Giving you no option where to save, and producing no image. Real shame because it looks very cool.Version: 3.0.23

Great app but Premium ThoI love using this app, but the navigation is a bit weird when I want to quickly go in and search through my saved stuff or when I have to re select a color from an image. It also pushes its premium subscription a lot..Version: 3.0.23

Morally wrongHi, I previously purchased this app, which was one of the most expensive at the time, it worked really well as a good reference tool, but then they completely changed the app, it no longer offers any of the features I had, all the stored settings have gone, I have to pay a subscription to access the colours I have already paid for so this is an entirely different App. So why simply change the app, why not introduce a new one... Well they have a captured audience, people who have already paid for the App.. How totally and utterly morally wrong, it is disgusting beyond belief that they have done this, and it got through Apple controls! I want back what I have paid for, and the licence I agreed to, not this rubbish. Introduce a new app if you are going to require a huge subscription, and Apple you need to review this as potentially it is a legal minefield.. - I want back what I paid for, please update so I can have it back.Version: 3.0.3

ImporterBought the app years ago for one simple function- Pantone colors with numbers. It is handy to show customers what color we offer. The app removed this basic function after updating. I understand the app need to be improved; however, removing the function which customers paid for is not improving! it is deceitful!.Version: 3.0.8

Bloated & Buggy, Not Subscription WorthyPaid for this app years ago when it was a single purchase. Now a monthly sub? No thanks. UX features unreadable type in dark mode. Locks up frequently. Bloated with social integrations no user wanted. This app will be replaced by something more focused on task and without a subscription..Version: 3.0.24

BrokenNo longer works after latest update!.Version: 3.0.24

Not worth the moneyI work with hair, so I use Pantone to help clients figure out the exact shade they want in their hair. That being said, this app is slightly difficult to use, and confusing. I’m also not sure why there’s even a price to begin with, this app doesn’t do anything special so why a cost??? The only thing truly worth it is the aesthetic for the fact that it’s Pantone. Download pocket palette instead, save yourself the time, effort and coin..Version: 3.0.16

Really slowHard to use.Version: 3.0.24

Crash BangI was very keen to try this app, but it wouldn’t load. And when it did, it crashed. I tried! Have now sadly deleted it, as it’s unusable. Fix it and I’ll be in like a pin!.Version: 3.0.24

MehDoesn't match a fanbook at all. And hello...CMYK?! Update this with brightness calibration as well..Version: 0

Difficult and time wasting appWhilst I love the theory of this app I have spent hours trying to work it out and have successfully completed 1 colour palette now I have gone back to start a second and the steps aren’t working like in palette 1. I think for something I paid for I expect a lot more. I think the developers should be refunding peoples ,only as this is a rip off.Version: 3.0.32

It won’t even open!Useless....Version: 3.0.24

FrustratingIt always crashes. Impossible to use :(.Version: 3.0.22

Does not loadI want to badly to use this app but it’s completely unaccessible..Version: 3.0.26

Below Average performanceThe search functionality is below par on the iPhone. Not useful subscription. TP has been replaced with a not useful colour range if you work in textiles or garment industries. Would not recommend this app.Version: 3.0.22

Does loadsWaste of time.Version: 3.0.32

DisappointedThe app doesn’t even open….Version: 3.0.32

Bug-ridden, expensive, avoid. This half-assed effort does Pantone a profound disservice. It was clearly rushed out far too soon and lacks any polish, to the extent that three times out of four opening it shows a spinner with the helpless message “somethings taking too long”. Once in, it’s hard to navigate, and many of the features hang, or end up stuck in sub-views that you have to terminate the app to get out of. The photos section just shows a permanent spinner. Trying to link it to an Apple ID or Google ID fails because the app itself lacks the authorisation to ask for either. It’s a Total quality disaster from start to finish, and asking fifty bucks for an annual subscription is, in the circumstances, a bad joke..Version: 3.0.22

Super fun but can’t load new photosLove this idea. But every time I load a new photo into my camera on my phone from another source it doesn’t locate it until later I’ve tried closing it, shutting down my phone and it still doesn’t have it in there. Otherwise super cool idea..Version: 3.0.17

DisappointingThis app is really poorly designed and not user friendly or intuitive. Only 5 colours allowed per colour palette which is not helpful when identifying colours from an image. I desperately wanted this app to be amazing but it's given me nothing but frustration at it's poor design..Version: 3.0.11

App doesn’t launch waste of timeYeah fix it will you I was super excited for this poor production.Version: 3.0.24

Poorly designedThe app is not user friendly, I’m sure there’s hidden features to it to make it a great app, but it doesn’t have intuitive design and doesn’t do anything different than the Instagram colour palette filters do..Version: 3.0.29

Absolutely disgustedThis update has left buyers completely stranded having to pay a ridiculous subscription fee to get the same information we received when we first purchased the app prior to this "update". What an absolutely horrific idea to pull the rug from under loyal customers like this, I'm gutted that Pantone has demanded this price hike to get back the usability we once had with the original app. Get it together guys, this is absolutely no way to treat your paying customers..Version: 3.0.0

Mostly PointlessYou can research a lot about colour and organize a palate, but then you can't do anything with it. If you email it, you get a bunch of files that can be downloaded to Evernote or Dropbox, but then those apps can't read them and you just get a bunch of code. If you copy the email and open it in a draw app, it only pastes the words, not the colours, which doesn't do much good. So it's nice to be able to browse the colours and find the pantone codes, but there's no real point to the app if you can't apply the information to anything..Version: 2.3.1

Pantone useThis an incredibly difficult app to use. There is no instructions on how to use it. I just wanted a Pantone colour analyser of the images on my camera roll. It does not offer this. It is not worth the high subscription cost. STOP PRIORITISING THE MONEY AND START THINKING ABOUT YOUR CLIENTS NEED!.Version: 3.0.15

Fun, when it worksThe colors are not spot on, not matching what I see in pics, but it’s fun. App has not been working lately, doesn’t actually start up, getting a message that it’s taking longer than normal🤷🏻‍♂️ Great concept, though..Version: 3.0.20

Terrible, frustrating, unintuitiveIt’s very difficult to navigate. I can see how they were trying to simplify the process but even the tutorials are unhelpful. I simply wanted to pull a palette from my photos and I could only take photos and not upload. Very frustrating and disappointing..Version: 3.0.24

Need CMYKWould be great if it included CMYK on the solid coated and uncoated palletts. RGB is great for web designers, but what about print designers? I guess if you are happy with your pallet you can sort that out in PhotoShop but would be great to have it all at hand with the ability to email the CMYK breakdown. Harmonising feature is great - i've just emailed a suite of colours to myself and business partner - that is soo cool. I'm gunna give this a low score as I do believe Pantone could add the CMYK ref to solid and uncoated palletts. Come on Pantone - don't hide the colours! Otherwise, this is a great app and I do use it..Version: 0

RTFMVery annoyed that the fandeck app I loved using was replaced without adequate explanation to Pantone Studio, which does not appear to have an equivalent. I feel the interface is confusing and could do with a re-design. The "Images" colour matching component seems to do point sampling, which is therefore incapable of providing the general colour "feel" of a region of an image. I feel one needs to read any and all documentation to work out how to do what one wants and why the app does what it does the way it does..Version: 3.0.3

Loading…And that’s it… it is just loading. Rubbish.Version: 3.0.32

Can’t unsubscribeThis was cool to try, but I’m not using it and finding it quite to find somewhere to unsubscribe!.Version: 3.0.20

Problem seems to have been solved for previous purchasers of myPantoneNow that Pantone have fixed the issue and given previous purchasers of myPantone free access to all the colours again (that we had already paid for), I'm happy to erase my previous review and tentatively recommend the app. I still can't see it being worth the subscription Pantone are after for new users but for me it's a handy app to have and was worth the money I originally paid. I'd still like CMYK equivalent values for all the Pantones though..Version: 3.0.3

Does not work at all. This app doesn’t work at all. Stuck on the first screen saying “ this seems to be taking longer than normal”. There are multiple reviews stating the same issue but I guess they choose to ignore customer feedback? Waste of data and App Store space..Version: 3.0.32

Works on one device but not the other.I’m a huge fan of Pantone and everything you guys do. Unfortunately the app simply refuses to work on my 2020 iPad Pro, anytime I try to save/share it crashes instantly. I’ve tried re-downloading but still nothing. Works flawlessly on my iPhone, but I work from my iPad mainly. Hope you guys can figure it out!.Version: 3.0.24

Will no longer loadUsed to use this app quite often as a designer and artist. Will no longer open. Re-downloaded but still no joy getting it to open. Ah well, will delete it and move on. What a shame. ☹️.Version: 3.0.22

BrokenDon’t bother downloading. It’s been broken for, according to reviews, 4 whole months and it’s not been fixed. I’ve seen that you can maybe get it to work with location services, but that’s a hostile user experience so honestly f this app..Version: 3.0.32

Fails to loadReally disappointed, app stuck on ‘this is taking a bit longer than expected’ and never loads. ‘App support’ option takes you to FAQs on Pantone site which are completely irrelevant- really a shame that they’ve not taken better care with this..Version: 3.0.32

Never finishes launchingI have not tried previous versions of the app. I installed the current version and quickly determined that, after the first launch, subsequent launches would hang on the loading window. If you rely on this app, I recommend you hold off on upgrading..Version: 3.0.24

Won’t loadThe app says “hmm, this is taking a bit longer than expected” and just sits on this screen forever. I have only seen this screen since I downloaded it, so I have nothing to review other than it doesn't work..Version: 3.0.24

Recettes cmyk svpMême si on ne peut se fier aux couleurs pour de limprimer, il aurait été très pratique d' avoir les recette de ses pms en cmyk pour comprendre la composition Dun pantone, a quand une mise a jour?.Version: 0
