✓ Memory IssueLove this app. I have three 17B-II’s floating around but just use this. Latest update seems to sweep the memory after a few minutes of inactivity. This is a new issue I hope can be easily resolved. 5-Star product otherwise! Update: problem resolved by developer!.Version: 6.0.3

✓ Utterly brilliant!!I own a HP17Bll+ and can tell you that all the features of the real thing are right here - even the brilliant Solver function (which is now even easier to use because you have access to the full iPhone keyboard)!! There's heaps of preference options and it all just works brilliantly. By far the best calculator for the iPhone, bar none! The only glitch so far is that if you want to lock the screen into portrait mode, it's upside down! So I don't lock it. Also the sound when it finds a Solver answer is too loud (the normal key press sound volume is adjustable, but the Solver result isn't - shame, but no big deal). Maybe these minor things will be fixed in the next update. Nevertheless, still a brilliant HP17Bll calculator app!! Full marks! UPDATE (since above review) I just heard back from tech support re the upside down issue. It turns out you can set the orientation in any of four directions - I just had to tap a graphic two more times to switch it the right way up. Excellent! And they will fix the volume issue in the next update. I'm loving this calculator!.Version: 0
✓ Excellent alternative to the real thingI love my trusty HP 17BII Business that I have treasured for going on 30 years - it’s still a daily driver on my desk at work. This is the closest emulation I have seen on a smart phone. My only gripe is that the emulation is not ‘key perfect’ on the top row, with the app adding additional functionality and quick keys. But for those times when I’m away from my desk and want something that feels similar to my trusted friend this application hits the right spot!.Version: 5.3

✓ 17BII+For some time now, I was waiting for this application to come out in the App Store, Finally, we have it from RLM Software and it works fine. Now, I don't have to carry my HP-17BII calcuator with me like I used to with my HP-12C for more than fifteen years. ✓ Better than the real thingI have had a 17b for many years - a vintage model from the 80's. As you know already, they are amazing. The iPhone version has two further advantages: 1. It's in your iPhone, so you have always got it with you. 2. The personal solve formulas don't disappear when the batteries run out (very annoying, I expect hp sorted this on newer models). ✓ Excellent emulation. Excellent support.Purchased this app so I could avoid carrying my actual 17bii+ around. So far I am not disappointed. There was a small bug in Ver1 in the solver routines that gave incorrect answers. I wrote RLM support late at night and the next morning I had a response and by the same night, a fix was applied and it now works perfectly. I used Canadian mortgage calculations all the time and the solver is perfect for this. (Other apps do this as well; however, having the familiarity with the 17bii+ and now this emulation has made life easier and simpler (no need to carry my iPhone AND my HP). Thanks RLM for a great app! Highly recommended..Version: 0

✓ Good Business CalculatorThis is a very good version of the HP 17BII plus. In fact, it really offers a superset of functions since it contains more features than the physical calculator. It works well on my iPad 2 and is very easy to use. The only issue I encountered is the date and time function. It does not display the accurate time. The vendor is aware, but has not yet fixed it. ✓ Amazing! Runs perfectly on an iPhone 7+The app has not been updated in a few years so I was hesitant to drop $5 on it, but I did and I am glad I did. This app runs perfectly on an iPhone 7+. I will add that it is not adapted to the 4.7" and 5.5" screen sizes. That isn't a huge deal but for those who care, I give you that information. The app starts up quickly, so the review from 2014 about slow start times is not an issue on newer equipment..Version: 4.8

✓ UnbelievableI have been using HP financial calculators for more than 30 years. Given the numerous problems that the current HP 17BII+ financial calculator has exhibited such as stuck keys etc., I decided to go on the iPhone apps store to see if there was anything close to an HP financial calculator available for iPhone or iPad. I was astonished to find that a company called R.L.M. Software offers seven exact duplicates of various HP calculators for use on the iPhone and the iPad. There is an exact simulated model of the HP 17BII+financial calculator available for $4.99. It is exactly the same as the HP relative to all of its financial algorithms. In addition there are additional functions not available on the real HP. The RPN mode can be reset to algebraic, the look on the screen is exactly the same as the HP. If it's on an iPad you get the full screen mode. This is truly unbelievable..Version: 4.4

✓ Just like the original HP 17bIII had to have one of these for college, which was a good number of years ago, and still use it today. I was so glad to see this as an app. I've used a number of features and find that it works just like the original. However, the % button doesn't work. You type in a number and press % and it returns all zeros; thus, the four stars. In business this % key is often used, so I'm surprised this flaw wasn't caught before release..Version: 0

✓ Most configurable calc out thereThis app has a number of great standard functions (Time Value of Money, etc) but the Solver emulation is what sold me, and what I used extensively back when I had the HP hardware. Simply create your own equation with your variables, enter your variables and values and it will solve for the one value that is missing! And you can save as many of your own formulas as you like. I used it for figuring weights or lengths on roll goods but you can adapt it your own needs/profession. One of the most user-friendly calc apps imo..Version: 4.8.1

✓ Simply the Best Financial Calculator (and more)I just found this marvelous emulation if my beloved HP17BII+ and it's better -- much better-- than the real one! For those who are unfamiliar, the greatest feature of The HP17 Is the ability to write equations and have the calculator solve for any single missing variable. You can store tons of equations and they are much easier to type on the iPhone keyboard. I use it for many specialty functions in my manufacturing business including pricing of complicated custom made items. The HP17 is far superior to the HP12C (though it doesn't have the nifty key layout) and this version is far superior to the real thing. I use it several times an hour all day every day. It's even better than the actual calculator, since you can integrate log or trig functions directly into the 1-9 keys! ✓ Even better than the real calculator!I use the real HP 17bII+ in MBA finance classes. This app includes all of the calculator functions plus more. The forms for entering cash flows and statistical data are well designed and easy to use. The amortization table is a nice touch. The best addition is the solver, however. Entering equations is much easier than with the real calculator. The function library provides quick access to all of the built-in functions, including GET, LET, and SUM. There is also a way to upload equation files. My only complaint is the placement of the EXIT button in the landscape mode. I would have prefered it to be on the top row next to STO and RCL. At first I was a little put off by the relatively high price, but when you consider that it's just as capable and much easier to use than the actual calculator that costs eight times as much, I think it's a great deal..Version: 0

✓ Outstanding!We just swapped all our personal technology from PC to Apple and I initially searched for this app in the app store and was not successful but found it via a google search. I bought a 19BII in 1989, the year after they came out as I was entering grad school and still carry it everywhere I go today (sounds a little nutty but it always rides in a pouch in my briefcase). That calculator got me through so very much during grad school and on the job afterwards as well as personal financial endeavors over the years and then in business as I am a practicing CFP & financial advisor. When I was doing the CFP 10 years ago the 19BII wasn't allowed, but the 17BII WAS allowed so I bought one of those and had great success with using it for both the CFP and CIMA later. I just bought this app and test-ran it on the ipad2.....Love it!! I agree the ease of use is a bit better than on the actual calculator. Our last addition on the tech upgrade is to swap blackberries for iphones once the 5 comes out and this will be the first app I put on that thing...will lighten my daily briefcase load after 22 years of packing that 19BII as it will go in a drawer..Version: 3.2
