Birds of Britain Pro for Positive User Reviews

Great app worth the money!I did initially think this was a bit pricey, but after using the light version for some time, decided to give it a go. The app is a brilliant tool to help identifying birds and always seems to come up with the answer. The ability to log sightings is a big bonus over the light version, and I particularly like the map of records. I can even record sightings outside of Britain which is very handy. Great app, well worth the money!.Version: 2.1.7

Bird Talk ExcellentI love being able to listen to the bird call and/or song. Fabulous photos male/female/young. Good information I heard a Tawny Owl call once. I turned on this app located Tawny Owl selected call and played it at full volume out of window - local owl kept replying. It was magic. Didn't want to upset the owl as not sure if a mating or territory call so stopped after 4 calls. Excellent content and pictures well worth the cash. Easy to use. Great App for Identifying unseen birds by their call or song. Worth every modest penny spent on it. Also when I had problem backing up record of sightings via email The App Developer was very helpful advise me how to overcome problem.Version: 2.1.7

The 'go to' app for birders.Great app, very easy to use. Would like the ability to edit place names for sightings..Version: 2.1.7

An expert in your pocketThe whole family love using the app from the bird table to holidays. Great for sorting out gender and songs. The record keeping part is a really useful asset. Initially I thought the app was expensive but now think it's good value and wouldn't be without it..Version: 2.1.7

Worth itVery good app. We are regular bird watchers and have tried a number apps. This is easily the best we’ve used and it’s hard to see how it could be improved..Version: 2.5.6

Love this appI love this app. No need to carry my hefty books I just take my iPad and the app also records sightings.Version: 2.5.6

ReviewHave looked and tried lots of birdwatching apps but this is now the only one I use regularly. It works very well..Version: 2.1.7

BrilliantThis app is brilliant and works faultlessly. Find it so handy to compile a record of each new specie I see - and with auto fill it makes it so quick and easy..Version: 2.1.7

Fantastic app I’ve been using it for years and I just love it.Does everything you need and all from your phone no need to carry guide books. The bird calls are great which can really help identify some birds. Iv been using this app for over a year now and can't recommend it enough..Version: 2.5.4

Great app - a couple of requestsI’ve found this app really useful having got back into birding on my lockdown walks. Being able access such a complete reference, pictures, maps, recordings etc, all at the touch of a button on my phone has been invaluable. The record centre also works well, but it would be handy if it were possible to allocate a sighting to a user specified list name, e.g. garden, local patch, etc, (i.e. lists that apply to more than one date or set of consecutive dates). It would just require an additional field in each record. Also, would it be possible for the iPad app to have the option of including or excluding the time of the sighting, as in the iPhone version?.Version: 2.5.6

Good app with responsive developerIn the short time I have been using this app, it has helped me, very much not a bird expert, to identify and learn more about many of the visitors to my garden. The developer has also shown a desire to resolve the minor issue that I had with the app..Version: 2.5.4

Very good basic + songs and calls greatA very good not-too-detailed guide but I love the calls and songs.Version: 2.5.6

Excellent AppI have had this app for a while and it is my go to reference for birds. I love the useful bird song attachments for each bird. I've used the app fairly successfully with regard to identification of species. What I love most is the recording aspect - can record species, date, location, notes, upload your own photos of the bird, song recordings and then view a list of what you've seen or view on a map - it's fantastic and coupled with my revived enthusiasm for birding and photography I think this app will get a lot more use..Version: 2.1.7

Fantastic app for twitchersThe app is fantastic for twitchers whether you be new to it or experienced. Helps you identify birds easily as well as a log where you have seen them using gps.Version: 2.2.4

ShaunLove it Quick and easy to use wouldn’t want to be without it this has to be the best bird app you can get by far..Version: 2.2.4

Fantastic app, better than a bookGreat app, perfect for a novice birder like me. Saves carrying a book with me, detail is comparable to a pocket guide book but with the added bonus of including bird calls and ability to record sightings. Friend bought it for me and it's one of the best presents I've been given!.Version: 2.1.7

Great bird appI’ve been happily using this app for a few years now and recently upgraded to a iPhone X. I would like to ask the developers when will they be providing an update that would make good use of the extra screen space this phone permits?.Version: 2.2.2

Great AppI have just started using this app and find it very useful. I dare say I do not know the app very well yet but find the reference section with the photographs and birdsong etc very useful. And, the ability to record sightings is brilliant. Love it..Version: 2.2.4

BrilliantBirds of Britain Pro is my goto guide when I'm out and about. So much easier than lugging a printed guide around. I've had it on my phone and tablet for years. There are no doubt other good guides out there, but I've never been tempted to change… Recommended!.Version: 2.1.7

Love using this appLove using this app as it’s up to date for what I need it for, I can save my sightings and write a little review of what I’ve seen and pin point the Location as a reminder And even the bird calls have helped not just recognise the bird but I play the calls on a nature reserve as I could hear the bird I was trying to photo and when it kept flying back and forth and almost at me to see where this intruder was coming from, I got some of my best shots of this beautiful iconic little bird. 🌟⭐️🌟⭐️🌟.Version: 2.5.6

Good response from the developerI thought that location services was broken but it was not and I got a speedy response from the developers. The app is very good and much better than iBirdPro.Version: 2.2.2

Superb (can't think of a better description)This app is so good. It is easy to use, and identification is made so easy with the photos, descriptions and songs available at a touch. Beats carrying a book around with you. Highly recommended!!!.Version: 2.1.7

Great app!Great pics, and those of youngsters really useful this time of year. Songs and calls have helped work out what that invisible bird in the thicket is! Not used it to its full extent yet, but well worth the money, thoroughly recommend.Version: 2.1.7

My first choice when trying to ID a birdI’ve used this app for a few years now. I have a few apps and I use the others if I need more info like juveniles, pictures in flight etc, however this is my preferred first choice. The information is well laid out and I like that I can record my sightings and can also hear the bird song. I don’t record everything but just my more unusual sightings..Version: 2.5.6

OutstandingBy far the best money I have spent on any App ever. Been using for 7 years and it would be the first thing i bought if I changed mobile platforms. Works offline, no ads, no padding just great stuff. The audio clips have narrowEd down a sighting no end of times and revealed a few surprises too. Get it and be happy, i am 🙂 🦅.Version: 2.2.4

British Bird IDHas to be the BEST app around. The info, map, and pictures, are spot on. The bird calls are a fantastic feature..Version: 2.1.7

Easy to useEarly days for me using this app, but it seems to be very good.Version: 2.5.6

Birds of Britain ProI have had this app for a long time now and I can honestly state that it is my favourite app and the features are truly wonderful in all aspects. Improvements are always welcome but how you improve on perfection well good look with that . Additional species is all I can wish for ..Version: 2.5.6

ExcellentI’ve used this for years. Brilliant. I once found a bird “missing”, contacted the author and received a very quick reply politely guiding me to the bird in question. Highly recommended..Version: 2.5.6

Best field guide for meI am growing in my knowledge of birds, and I have found this app the best of any kind of bird guide available. I used to use a book out & about, a bigger book at home, a set of CDs to get my brain round the songs & calls, and the Internet for photos. Now? All these features are rolled together in this app. I no longer need anything else. The photos are amazing, and the fact that it tells me which birds are found near my location is the icing on the cake. Really good value. I'd say it was worth £40 or £50, but here we have a bargain!.Version: 2.1.7

GreatFast and efficient at identifying and cataloging UK birds. The edit option is great for adding your own notes and even pics!.Version: 2.2.1

Spiny apps are greatI have 5 Spiny apps and they all use the same interface which is very easy to use. Species can be identified and sightings logged with your own pictures. I especially like the ability to compare pictures of different species to help identify what you are looking at. It would be even better though, if it were possible to flick through all the pictures available and not just the ones selected. E.g. you may wish to compare the top of a butterfly or mushroom, the underneath and then the distribution..Version: 2.2.1

Bird guideGreat app to have in your pocket. - I find the call feature particularly useful in the field and friends have been equally impressed..Version: 2.1.7

Great app and great supportI love this app. Easy to use, time, date and location all upload automatically. The information is accurate and comprehensive. 5 stars too for support. I had a problem with bird nos transferring to other sightings. Someone responded within a couple of days and a bug fix went live within the week!.Version: 2.2.1

Handy appEasy access handy ap when out birding. Use to record sightings and audio identification. Recommended..Version: 2.2.2

Brilliant app - recommendedI'm only a casual birdwatcher, but I've learnt so much from this app. I love the way you can put in what you know about a bird to narrow down the search using great images, and being able to hear calls. Well worth the money, and better than a book because I always have my iPad mini with me when I'm out walking or cycling. Get it..Version: 2.1.7

Great appI would recommend this app to anyone interested in bird watching. Has everything you need to identify and record sighting. 10 /10..Version: 2.1.7

SuperbWe’ve been using this app for many years now as our main app for recording our sightings. It’s extremely useful for IDing, especially the ‘key’ feature. Its bird calls are perfect too. Frankly I can’t fault it. 😍.Version: 2.5.6

Loving this AppI’ve found this App to be so helpful, my only complaint, if you could call it that is with the menu for identifying birds, size, colour etc. This would be helpful if more identifying categories could be added, especially size..Version: 2.5.6

British birdsAn excellent app. Even actual birds sre fooled by the recordings. An invaluable companion when visiting Britain..Version: 2.1.2

Awesomeness of this AppI find this app very useful, quick and easy to use. Has a good range of examples, which is on the increase. You can accurately record sighting within a few seconds. You can download and/or backup you records. The app is clear and clear allowing the text and images to be viewed on smaller screens. Improvements to the app? Silhouettes of birds in flight would be handy and the ability to compare birds would be great. All in all I love this app. It's helped me no end with bird recognition through the images and the soundtracks..Version: 2.1.7

Fantastic Birding App.I absolutely love this app. I can record what I’ve seen and where. I can see how many I get on each trip and my total. Would be lost without it and a friend has a different one and recording a sighting is so much quicker in the app..Version: 2.5.6

Fantastic app for birders or just interested! This has good pictures of British birds in, and you can identify and spot them anywhere - so if you find yourself spotting migrant waders in the Arabian peninsular log them and be amazed(I was!) the guides to individual birds are pretty good, and you can usually work out what it was you just saw and log it if you wast! Amazingly I seem to have seen more than 50% of British species since I've had the app (4years) and would never have thought that without that app.!.Version: 2.1.7

SupercalafragilisticexpealidociousI'm not a bird spotter but I do a lot of wildlife photography, this app is worth every penny to me to avoid embarrassing labelling of piccies. As a superb added bonus you can use the bird sounds to attract birds..Version: 2.1.7
