These Positive Discipline Parenting Tools provide many alternatives to punishment that also teach children valuable social and life skills such as self-discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and problem-solving skills. These skills help children develop a sense of self-reliance and capability that will serve them throughout their lives.

✓ Novel and useful approachIf you can get past some of the language (imagine your typical American self-help book) it is excellent. I've found it particularly useful in the middle of some bloody challenging three year old behaviour just as a quiet reminder to me to step back and look at the events as a whole. ✓ If you're too tired to read...I've been teaching parenting and working with clients for over 30 years, and what I notice is that information, to be effective and utilized, needs to come in smaller and smaller bits. Folks are busy juggling work, family, friends, and the rest of their life, so the thought of sitting down and reading an entire parenting book is overwhelming. That's why these cards are so helpful. They are based on our work, but presented in a way that you can get help on the fly, and the cards are fun and user friendly.
