✓ Lost work... UnforgivableI have to say that this app seemed to be what I was looking for. After trouble kept arising with the Hanx typewriter app I was looking for something that could take the place and provide me with the sounds and feel of the past. As far as that is concerned it did great. What I did not see coming was that one of the features would erase an entire page of words. After further attempts to get my work back I realized that when getting a new page, if by some accident of a finger slip when moving the iPad you happen to double touch the previous page, it will duplicate that page on top of your existing second page. It will not move your next page over to create this duplicate. No. It will copy the page directly in place of your existing next page and all words will be lost. I read many reviews and have not seen this so I must be the only fool this has happened to. In any case, this is an unforgivable design flaw that I can't work my way around. I have never left a review on an app before good or bad, yet this is without a doubt the worst mistake a designer could make. For a writing app the user must feel their work is safeguarded against simple movements. Beware. I will not be using this app again until such a flaw is corrected..Version: 3.2.3

✓ Cool app, just a suggestion...I love the application but it would be great to be able to write more than one page, scroll through and read what I have written and open previously written files… It is great writing on a typewriter like this, just wish I could use it for more than a letter/email....Version: 2.1.0
✓ Fun - but hoping for even more authenticityI have little doubt that this is the most authentic typewriting experience I can get with an iPad. However, there are two things that I miss with a real typewriting - I wish there were no backspace and that I can look at a larger area of the page and what I have typed. I know most people want their backspace - so I wonder whether it is possible for there to be an option to turn it on or off. I need to quite editing too much - and a typewriting is supposed to help me with that. All things being said, I do love the aesthetics. I love looking at my words and that is, for now, a great incentive to type up boring things that I simply must write..Version: 3.2.1
✓ Pretty awesomeThis is a really cool app and a lot of fun to use. I've found myself using it a lot; the ONLY thing that stops me using it for almost everything is that you can only do one page at a time. What ever you have to say, say it in a page--if you were able to write page after page and have them connected like any other word processor it would be perfect. This is a bit of an issue though and needs to be addressed. I'd love to be able to write my next book on this app. But, I am unable to at this stage. Pease fix.Version: 3.2.1

✓ Good, but missing featuresThis app does what it does very well. But it is missing some of the most important features of an old fashioned typewriter. You cannot backspace without deleting characters. And, you cannot over strike characters. It should also include at least a couple more old typewriter fonts to chose from. It would also be nice to see some stationary choices..Version: 3.1

✓ Cute, but...It seems to be missing some "key" parts to a manual typewriter. There is no tab button for indentations, there are no margin numbers for page set up, you never quite know where centre is, and to centre a title or something you do have to backspace and count out your letters in order to centre it. When you hit return and wish to go to centre the page resets to the previous line, there is no double space triple space settings either. The maker of this needs to go get a manual typewriter then find someone (like me) who is old enough to teach you how to set up pages, margins, tabs, etc. without those functions it's just a cute app to play with nothing more. There was an art to using one of these typewriters in order to create documents or even pictures! Jeez I'm old lol.....Version: 3.0.1
✓ Good but Hanx is betterSorry to disagree with the other reviews but, for me, this app feels like it's a digital copy of a typewriter whereas the Hanx app feels like you're actually using a typewriter. I will admit that this app is beautiful but it's the sounds that let it down. It's just too tinny, as though someone is hitting a tin lid for each key press and also it sounds distant, like you're hearing someone typing in the next room..Version: 3.2.3

✓ Beautiful yet functionalFirst of all this app is a beautifully rendered old school typewriter and certainly bring back sweet memory. However there is still room for improvement, for eg after composing a short letter and save as image to send via email, there is a chance a large blank space would have left between the end of paragraph and the phase "Sent from iPad"; would be nice if that blank space can be shorten or better yet customizable (for example allowing user to add image as an option). ✓ Great Idea - more functionality pleaseThis is a very cool app and has heaps of potential. A couple of things to start with are; : how about a black and red ribbon like the old days? : the ability to save documents as either text or images or even better both. ✓ Needs to be updated for Retina DisplayThe app is pretty cool in and of itself. But, to be honest, I was shocked to see how pixelated the typewriter and typed letters were. It would be nice to have iCloud integration and also open in Pages - It just sends a .jpg attachment in an email. I loved to type with the sounds of the keys and the sound of the return. Might be worth the purchase, though I'd rather have this keyboard integrated into my basic iPad keyboard for everyday use..Version: 3.2.1

✓ OkWell this app is cool, with a few exceptions, I cannot open any of the downloaded emails I sent myself from this app, so to just be able to view it from in the email does not help, anyone know what kind of file reader you need for this? printing is important maybe as well, also would be nice to select anywhere on the page and type, if you realize you made a typo half way down the page you gotta backspace/ erase to correct the error. To center would be cool too, lots of nice possibilities....Version: 2.2.2
✓ ClutteredNot great. Sorry. Three quarters of the screen is taken up by the virtual keyboard, which was probably super fun to design but isn't very useful when you're using an external keyboard. That leaves a strip of paper about half an inch tall for you to view while typing your document. Would be much better if the keyboard disappeared when you're connected to a real one so you can see what you're doing. The sound effects and simulated fonts aren't very good either. ✓ It's ok, but...I quite like the way this imitates a real typewriter, but the quality of the image of the typewriter and the text on the paper is just not good enough not to be distracting. I was also attracted by the glass key tops but I would rather be using the plastic keys of the Hanx Writer for all that could be just slightly better with what is still a relatively new app. I have several real typewriters and this is almost good enough but just not quite. sorry!.Version: 3.2.3
✓ Gorgeous, but also notI was really disappointed to find out that this app, an app that is entirely about look and feel, does not have Retina-ready graphics. The typewriter looks jagged and ugly, and the text on the paper is nearly unreadable while you're working. On the plus side, the exported image of your paper is perfectly sharp, much better than what is shown while you're working. The sounds are good, and the experience of using the app is fun. With Retina graphics, this would easily be a five star app. As it is today, I'll probably uninstall it..Version: 3.2.1

✓ Like it. good for first draftsI retired my Olympia 55 typewriter decades ago. miTypewiter is a fair machine simulation with a red and black ribbon. It cannot do things that a real typewriter can do: no shift and key, half-spacing, monospaced font or overtyping. The graphic output is nice, but I would like to see Dropbox added for text so we can import and share documents: at the moment it's only output by email. Overall I like it! Good for first drafts when one just writes to get something down; of course you can't edit. Revision can done later in another program or app..Version: 2.2.0
