Tanach Bible for Positive User Reviews

TeacherGreat app. It would even better if you would Onkeles.Version: 1.2

Perfect + Add English Rashi TranslationI cannot ask for a better app but I hope you will integrate the English Rashi (even as an in-app purchase). Thank you!.Version: 1.6

Update fineFroze at first but now it works fine.Version: 1.5

I Love The TanakhI truly enjoy this. However I would that I could see the highlighting and quicker access to my notes. There also aught to be some sort of tutorial for using it and explain it; I still don't know, nor can I find out anywhere, what the (K) is for — and it's all through the Scriptures..Version: 1.5

Please update the appPlease update the app for the larger screen of the iPhone 5. Thank you so much!! Great app!!.Version: 1.3

Great app!An awesomw app for all your Hebrew Bible needs! I use it everyday in class, and it saves me the trouble of carrying around a bulky paper copy. But like the others said, please add an English version of the Rashi commentary!!!.Version: 1.2

Print button does crashWhen printing a chapter on 15.0 the application crash’s when you select the print button.Version: 1.6

The Ultimate Book to read on your iPhone!I can not think of a better book to have on my iPhone for those times that I am forced to wait without access to a magazine or newspaper. To read the Tanach on your iPhone in English and in Hebrew is the best book anyone could have. I can now read and study Torah, the Nevi'im, and the Ketubim at any time! And the app has the capability of bookmarking verses and searching for words in English or in Hebrew. I have already bookmarked all the footnotes I have written in the margins of my Tanach. Now, not only can I read and study independently, if I ever am in a discussion of Torah with someone, I have the entire Tanach and commentary in my pocket. I can now pull out my phone and use my bookmarks to bring up relevant passages and search for words in English or in Hebrew. No longer will my personal conversations on scripture be based on: "Trust me: I have read it in the original Hebrew". Now, I can pull out my phone and show anyone who questions scripture the English translation and translate the Hebrew for them. Any time I have a question away from home, I do not have to wait to go home and get my Tanach to find out. I can simply pull out my phone and find the chapter and verse in English and Hebrew for myself or others. I can not think of a more important book to have on my phone but the Torah, Nevi'im and Ketubim. The only problem is that I do not have a Hebrew dictionary if I find a verse I can not translate. But, perhaps there is an app for that too..Version: 1.3

Split cultured personI think I have asburgers or something but after translating - it makes sense.... Life makes sense. The world make sense. This app makes sense..Version: 1.5

Needs three more featuresExcellent app, but it needs three more things to rate it 5 stars: --ability to highlight text, not just bookmark it --annotations. Like many people, I write notes in the margins. Alternate word translations, ideas, interpretations have no place to go. --Rashi text translation. Option for Rashi font would be the best! Thanks for a great app though. One more version and it will be perfect!.Version: 1.3

Gorgeous Hebrew with TropFinally, a Tanach that displays Hebrew with the Nikud and Trop properly. Others I've seen on the iPhone would sometimes shift the Trop to a different letter to make room for the Nikud. It looks good in the 3 sizes of text they supply. I liked the navigation as a popup, keeping the full page for text. Very natural to read that way, in portrait. Strangely, it did not take full advantage of the screen width in landscape. Also, swiping left and right change from all Hebrew to Hebrew plus English translation, instead of next page and previous page. There are buttons for next Perek and previous Perek. The two-column text with Rashi setting for Chumash is amazing! It really provides an advantage over printed Chumashim, as you easily see all the Rashi associated with a verse instead of having to hunt down the Rashi on the bottom of the page. If you do Shnaim Mikrah with Rashi, this is great, but there is no Onkelos. Copy-paste into the Notes app displayed the text but no Nikud or Trop. Bookmarks are okay. Search across all Tanach is amazing and fast. It highlights the search phrase in each found verse..Version: 0

Very Impressive! The biggest compliment I can give this app is that it feels like it was written by Apple! It is well crafted, smooth, quick (including search), and pretty to boot. Thank you! Update: Great to have this updated - after 6 years of no updates. I’ve used it the last 6 years, wondering if it will eventually become obsolete and unusable by an iOS update. That would have been a pity because this app is so good. Happy that we’ll have this for another few years. Thanks for updating it!!!.Version: 1.7

Overall solid appGood, clear and easy to use. However, it would be great if they enhanced the search to find a phrase or multiple words.Version: 1.2

ExcelentIt is an amazing app! I started teaching my younger brother Tanach before I found this app. I found this app, installed it, and now I am learning very well.Version: 1.3

NiceThis is nice, but İ wish they would say which Hebrew text this is, and what English translation they're using. Haggai 1.6 says "there is no warm." I hope there aren't other errors..Version: 1.2

Good app, a few requests...Very good app. Font is nice and legible. A few requests/suggestions: - When looking up texts by parashiot, the chapter number is not indicated, only the verses. So if you're reading, say, parashat 'emor' you don't really know where you are reading in Leviticus. Please add chapter numbers! - Browsing for passages is a little awkward and not space efficient. If you want to look up Psalm 150, you need to scroll down several screens until you reach the end of the list. It would be better to have smaller boxes for selecting chapter numbers rather than a whole line for each. - Font size when switching to landscape mode is too large. It would also be good to have more than only 3 font size options, and separate settings for Hebrew and English font sizes - To add my voice to a previous request, Rashi in English would be great!.Version: 1.2

Great App - Very usefulWorks very well. I like it best for saying my daily chitas. If there was one thing I would add it would be the option to automatically go to the days portion.Version: 1.3

Almost perfect appEasy to navigate and search .... would love to have Rashi in english, ability to search in english, and way to increase font size.Version: 0

Awesome App!This is simply the best Tanach (Bible) app on the market! The text is super clear (even with the vowelization [nekudot], which in other Hebrew language apps does not alway display nicely), the navigation is intuitive, and it has a number of unique features - all of which work as advertised (bookmarks, a really great search function, etc.) But what makes this really stand out is the inclusion of Rashi's commentary which is presnted here in line with the text of the tanach iteslf. All said, this app is simply outstanding! Money well spent!.Version: 0

THANK YOU!This app is totally worth it! The best! This just might be the perfect Tanakh app, if only it had the option to display English only. To the previous review who wanted rashi font: from the iPod settings menu you can access that option..Version: 1.2

Great Copy of the TanachHoping to one day make the move to Judaism and this is a great application to ready the Tanach on the go.Version: 1.6

TanachThis is an excellent accessible Tanach. You can find the chapters easily. I like the fact that the hebrew and the english are side by side so you can read a passage in Hebrew and instantly see the English translation. Thanks for this app..Version: 1.2

Awesome. Just what I wanted.I really love this App and use it every day now. While there are lots of Apps that display the text of the Tanakh, I was looking around for something different. I wanted an App which would display the Tanakh in the traditional way, left and right justified text, parashiot, Hebrew chapter and verse markings, and make the text look attractive and beautiful as it does in a printed Tanakh. This simple App really does that, and the Hebrew text display looks amazing in both the iPhone and iPad! Well done Davka! It could be improved if the text could also display large and small letters, inverted letters, raised letters, etc but maybe that could be done in a future update....Version: 1.4

Wonderful update but please add VGA suport now!!!I bought this app a few months ago and have loved it. The search engine works wonderfully and is interchangeable with Hebrew and English searches, the vowel points actually line up in their proper place (which most other Hebrew Bible apps fail at), I can turn the vowels off if I want, and lots more stuff like legitimate copy and paste. What I like most is that these guys actually look at what their customers are writting about them in the review section and they do something about it! When I first bought the app I did it as an impule buy and at first I regreted my decision because I hated the font used for Rashi's commentary and the searching parameters and these guys addressed those concerns with great updates. I am really happy with the product they've put together and that they are so willing to help their customers out with what we want. I highly recommend this app to anyone. Only thing I'd love to see now would be VGA support to a projector or monitor so I can use the app while I'm teaching and presenting which I'd think would be a great to show off the app to potential customers (not so subtle hint)! If you really want to make this something special then you could add a dictionary and parsing capability so that by touching the word you see the definition (hopefully from the BDB?) and see the word parsed..Version: 1.2

Just bought it.I just bought the app & was disappointed in the lack of "options" features such as: controlling the font size, bookmarks, history, notes, etc. if anything at all, I would like to have the option to control the font size & an option for having a full screen of only the English translation to go along with the other formats..Version: 1.3

Excellent app.A very nice simple and clean app. for the reading of the Scriptures in Hebrew and Aramaic. Glad to see that you are continuing to update it!.Version: 1.7

Very goodExcellent. Unfortunately does not include Haftorah portions related to weekly Parsha even though the relevant books are included. Odd considering the Parshas and Aliya portions are delineated. That why I deduct a star..Version: 1.6

Amazing!I just started a program of learning a perek of Nach every day and this app is perfect for that. The side-by-side display of the English translation and Rashi is very good and well done. The price is more than reasonable for the value we are getting. I literally cannot think of one thing I would change in this app. Please, Davka, make more apps for classic Jewish texts..Version: 1.2

DovidThis is a great product the text and the nikud are lined up perfectly and having the english translation at your finger tips is great..Version: 0

FantasticThis is a fantastic Tanach programme and AMAZING value at GBP0.69.Version: 1.3

Great resourceDoes exactly what it says and does it well. My only wish is for a dictionary / lexicon tied into it to assist with reading..Version: 1.5

Superb app!!This app was made solely with the user in mind. It works very well. Has translation on all of tanach for fraction of what they could charge. My favorite part: you can type any word and a massive search will come up containing any time the word is used in tanach. You can also narrow the search to a specific Sefer. I highly recommend this app especially to use for reference or finding a specific passuk..Version: 1.4

Good AppI just bought the app this week. This is a good app. What would make this a great app are: 1. Add an English Rashi. Perhaps give us the option of which two columns to display; English, Hebrew or Rashi English. 2. Add a size slider so that we can make the text bigger. If that is not possbile add another size option - LARGEST. On the iPad the English looks bigger on the right than the Hebrew. See if you can make the Hebrew bigger. Thanks for a good app..Version: 0

Fantastic AppA must have for any biblical scholar..Version: 1.6

Another home run ....I need to start by saying that I was a Fan of Davka's software before this came out - so I had high expectations. I must say I was not disappointed. My favorite part is the amazingly fast search. I needed a Dvar Torah based on a a name and was able to do it while on the train with no other access to a computer or Tanach etc. you are also able to do some copy and paste to send people Psukim in an email/sms etc (this may be only because I am on an Israeli network) If there is anything that I would like to improve it is that I would like to be able to "multi-touch" and zoom in on some parts. Nice job....Version: 0

Great AppA truly superb app. What about adding other commentaries/translations. Happy to pay for the add-ons. Well done!!.Version: 1.2

Fantastic!I have been looking for an app like this for a long time. Having the whole tanach in both Hebrew and English is amazing and the ability to search the texts, find the sentences (pasukium) with ease has been fantastic. Looking for the perfect Jewish killer app, look no further..Version: 0

FantasticThe only items I would ask for in future updates are haftorah links and an English translation of the Rashi..Version: 1.2

Great Tanakh appGreat Tanakh app. Has the weekly Torah readings and a search feature. Excellent!.Version: 1.6

Love thisI think it's unbelievable to get so much life and infiniteness laid out for you so clearly - FOR $2!!!.Version: 1.2

Must have. This app has served me very well now for the past 2+ yrs and I could live with out it. Very user friendly & no nonsense!.Version: 1.4

Great search featureGreat app. Very useful. Great search feature..Version: 1.2

Wonderful study tool! This is a great app for studying TaNAKh! The search is very good and the bookmarks are helpful. It would really be nice to add the capability of making notes. I've tried doing it with bookmarks--and while it accepts my full note, as far as I can see, there is no way to read more than the first few words. I still love the app and use it in class..Version: 1.2

Truly wonderful app!!!Love it. Very well designed, easy to use and very useful..Version: 1.6

A treasure!Great Shavuot gift from you guys. Request option for Rashi font on the Rashi commentary next version. Many thanks!.Version: 1.2
