Sky Guide for Positive User Reviews

Night sky entertainment and education. On a clear night, with your own eyes, see the night sky with a new sense of wonder..Version: 10.3.1

Better is worseI’m disappointed. I’ve had this app and used it often since it was released many years ago. Always impressed by its simplicity and absence of “in app purchases”. I didn’t mind the subscription option as it did not affect the plain app functions. No more. Very disappointed that there are now fees that prevent free functions. That’s sad. At least it was fully functional for as long as it was. I’m grateful for that. One question- Why does the sky view no longer function since the update? Now the app is entirely useless. I’ve tried redownloading and restarting. No effect. Bummer ***correction- i deleted and reloaded and view mode works again! All other criticism still stands (but 3 stars are better than one).Version: 10.0.3

Worth it.It’s amazing, buy it for sure. I love almost everything but here’s a few things for the developers to note. I know you’ve worked very hard on this and I don’t doubt that at all, but just consider the following please?😁: 1. When we click on a planet, then the info tab, then swipe up to get the rotational planet on our screens, it would be cool to tap on it and see a surface view for planets we have pictures of, and if the rotation was more realistic rather than 30ish second day/ night cycles. 2. When we view the planet from behind, I’d love to see its atmosphere as we can see when we photograph a planet when the sun is opposite the planet from our view. 3. I can’t seem to find any moons of other planets? Maybe I’m not looking hard enough but I spent a lot of time looking for 4 of the most prominent moons in our solar system, those being the moons of Jupiter. I couldn’t see any but I was most disappointed to see I couldn’t zoom in on IO and look at the immensely complicated surface features... 4. I would consider maybe just raising the base price of the app instead of having us pay initially and then being slapped in the face with other payments to see “exclusive features”... Anyway, I love the app. I love the work the developers have put into it. I look forward to improvements and new features. THANK YOU!.Version: 8.1.1

A Must Have AppSky Guide never ceases to amaze and deliver with every update. It’s truly the finest night sky app there is. The new Tonight section with light pollution map is the icing on the cake. It would be good to be able to expand the map to full screen and show rise/set times of the moon and other planets when you tap them, but it is still a welcome and much used addition. A perfect app from Fifth Star Labs. Money well spent..Version: 7.0.1

Was good until the latest update broke the filters.Latest update has broken the filters, a feature I am particularly fond of using. Please fix this!.Version: 6.0.1

Beautiful and easy to useOn an iPad Pro this app is an absolute delight! Breathtaking beauty. I felt an almost referent sense of awe the first time I used it. Again, the cornerstone of this app is raw, passionate beauty. A modest zoom function brings out details if I want to go deeper. Also, the moon, stars and planets are moving in real time so I can watch an occultation if I want from the comfort of my bed. A lot of satellites and space junk is tracked and labeled, which can be a lot of fun. It will even alert me if the International Space Station is about to go overhead. (If I’ve chosen to use the alert functions) I’ve had so much fun with the basic version the past two years that I have not bothered to upgrade yet to full featured mega version. Best money I ever spent on an app..Version: 10.4.1

Fantastic for amateur astronomersThis app is the best thing ever. It’s so powerful and customizable. I can choose exactly what I want to see. I can spend hours at a time reading the articles about the celestial objects. I normally don’t like spending money on things I don’t need, but this is something I have no doubts about subscribing to. The free app alone is incredible, and probably everything that a simple curious person looking at the stars would need. And, for hobbyists like myself, the plus and pro subscriptions are absolutely worth every penny. I can actually calculate exactly what my imaging quality will be based off of my specific telescope, eyepiece, camera, and location. There’s so many more features, but that’s just one that is rather thrilling to me. I have learned so much from here and I have only scratched the surface of what this app has to offer. I will definitely be using this app for a long time to come..Version: 10.4

Best sky space App out thereThis is the best sky App out there don't even waste your time on the other ones. Wish I could give it all the stars of the universe. It will be awesome if I get notifications when Starlink will pass by and more SpaceX news..Version: 8.1.4

Weather, Dark Sky Finder, New AR Features, WOWI opened the Sky Guide app today after the first time in awhile. Today is January 20th, 2019 and a lunar eclipse will be visible in my area in just a couple hours. I have loved Sky Guide since the day I downloaded the app years ago. I have continued to be impressed with attention to detail the developers have added to this app and continue to use every aspect of the iPhone’s functionality to provide the best UI/UX possible for astronomy lovers everywhere. I have never really posted a thorough review of an app before on the App Store, but this app deserves way more than five stars. I am genuinely impressed time and time again every time I open the app on my iPhone XS. Thank you to the Sky Guide team for creating such a tool!.Version: 7.1

Love this appI have loved this ever since I downloaded it some time back. It tells me where to look for events like the Jupiter -Venus conjunction and I love that you can run the time forward to see where to look for a particular event at a time in the future..Version: 10.3.1

AwesomeI love Skyguide. The science, the info, the whole App is great.! Sometimes, sadly, I cannot access the sound, but all in all this app is amazing on all levels. I actually run outside to see…where I can see the sky physically in the night. Thank you for making this..Version: 10.4

A different way to see the darknessThis app is incredible. I have very rarely ever had a crash and I use it all the time. I spend a lot of time at sea and this don’t have Internet. It’s great to be able to spend nights out on the ocean learning about the stars you can see so clearly overhead. This app is mind blowing..Version: 6.5.1

IssThis is a very good app I love it and go on it every night And watch the iss with my family and see the iss every night live thank you for making it.Version: 10.0.1

Out of this World!Just an awesome app. Great detail, interface that is so user friendly. Highly recommended.Version: 5.0.1

Amazing atmosphereOne of the best app purchases I ever made! Beautifully made and easy to operate. Very interesting and accessible information about the different planets, stars, galaxies etc. Also the graphic is really nice and the music very calming. I often use it in the evening in my dark room with headphones and check the sky out of the window. It’s kind of satisfying :).Version: 8.1.9

A SUPER MASSIVE App!I Love looking at the sky, stars, clouds, etc. Found Sky Guide. Not only do I get to follow the stars, constellations, moon, sun, planets, comets, satellites, but I can go forward in time, backward in time, there is information about everything that is listed in the sky in the App and I keep finding more ways to use this app. I just LOVE Sky Guide. My friends and neighbors (most of who don't have computers nor internet connections, as I live in a village with mostly poor farmers) come over to look with me. They love knowing what is that bright star in the sky, what is the planet, etc... It is highly Educational and worth the money. And it works with the wifi off. Best. Best. Best! I fully suggest this App for a great hands on course in basic Astronomy. 5 Stars!!! And now with SUPERMASSIVE as an option, it just continues to blow my mind. Seeing the Galaxies , Nebulas, Planets up close is breathtaking. This app was definitely made by people who Love their subject. And I Love this app. It continues to be Amazing! Amazing!.Version: 10.6

Amazing app!I love looking at the stars at night, and this app seriously takes star gazing to a entire new level! Absolutely amazing app! Have not experienced any glitches or technical issues, and thoroughly enjoy being able to use this app when the stars are out! Have discovered many new stars and facts about them! Definitely recommend this app to anyone who loves star gazing!.Version: 5.1

The favourite app on my phoneThis app makes me discover things in the real world, in a clever guided way. I love the monthly updates, thanks for considering the Southern Hemisphere in those. The quality of the monthly updates has picked up recently, loving the casual but informative writing style. My favourite new feature is the “tonight” list where you can choose objects of interest based on your kit - I walk the dog with binoculars, and the app means I’m always ready for a quick star gazing session without too much planning or reading. That’s especially great when combined with the night view mode. Every second hunting for info on the phone ruins your night vision a bit more, so efficient info presentation is key in an app like this..Version: 10.2

Amazing and easy to use!!Next level star gazing app. Absolutely love this! Kids and I love taking the iPad out and checking out the stars, so easy to use and full of extraordinary detail and so many extras. Couldn’t rate this app more highly..Version: 8.1.9

Killer Astro App with amazingly useful localisationI’ve tried stacks of Astro apps over the years. This absolutely nails it in terms of powerful features packaged in the most elegant and easy to use UI. But the real killer feature is localisation. More often than not this level of detail only works in certain countries or cities - but I was delighted to see it works perfectly for me in Adelaide, Australia. I’m talking really useful info like light pollution, cloud cover and visual magnitude - the type of weather data very specific to astronomy and stargazing. This is presented in a very useful format that’s already filtered to my geo location and doesn’t require interpretation of generic weather and maps. There’s also a range of Astro news that’s timely, well curated, and seamlessly integrated. Love this App!.Version: 7.0.4

The best game ever!I love this game so much because it helps me learn because I’m a kid and when I grow up I want to be a scientist. So that’s why I like this game and you should totally buy it. It helps me study the planets, stars, and because of this app, I’ve made about three or four documents. Not necessarily documents, but just little stories, because of this app!!!!! You should totally buy it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and it’s pretty cheap for everything that it has on there! Buy it buy it now! It even shows you, satellites, and rocket ships, and how they move around the Earth, to study the weather, other galaxies, and black holes, and even more things to study!!!!!!!.Version: 10.6

Best Application Ever !First of All Thanks to the Developer for giving us such a great Application Ever! But The Only Problem in lastest version is “Realtime Moving objects” like i was remember the version 6.01 in that version when we zoom the Moon so the moon will moving in realtime so reallly miss that feature in new versions i request the developer please bring that feature in upcoming version as soon as possible! Please Dear Developer Bring that feature again in option/Button type if someone want sidereal motion they can “TURN ON” and if someone don’t want they can “TURN OFF” sidereal motion. Dear Developer i am also your user i have rights to feedback , The sidereal motion was useful to us because when someone ask us how you can say that this app is a realtime app so that we can show them sidereal motion in zooming the moon like before we did in 6.0.1 version and say to them that look this is the realtime app so i request that please bring it in upcoming version as soon as possible..Version: 7.1.1

Excellent - 1 suggestionExcellent app. In an update, would it be possible for the app to remember the ‘Star Brightness’ setting after relaunching? Currently it goes back to the default 100% rather than remember my chosen brightness setting..Version: 10.2

Great app but suggestionsI love this app. It is very intuitive, full of content and educational. I do however have a suggestion to give: The Star Guide widget should indicate the change in the planet's rise and set times that occurs. E.g. the moon sets at 16:47 tonight, but tomorrow it will set XYZ minutes later. This can be indicated by an arrow pointing up or down depending on if the rise/set time progresses or regresses the next day. This would be very useful to people like me that plan their telescope viewing ahead of time. Hope the feedback helps, Chris.Version: 7.1.1

Worth every cent!It might sound cheesy but buy the full version, go outside late at night, put headphones on and make sure Sky Guides music is ‘ON’. You can spend ages exploring the sky with this app! The ambience that the music creates makes it that much better too! Thanks :).Version: 7.1.1

AmazingBeen playing with this app for 10 minutes and it’s amazing. Already planning an evening cycle next week to see Mercury. Everything about it, right down to the little stories and diary items is perfect. Would give it six stars if I could..Version: 8.1.9

AmazingCool, you don’t need pro or plus. Unless you love space loads! Also, they might be quite interesting 🤔. They are also very cheap if you buy annual. This app is way better since I discovered AR. Thank you sky guide. Can you add AR models of the planets and stars. It would be so cool. I mean stars might be hard to do but planets are more easy as we know more about them. Thank you again. 😄.Version: 10.3.1

AMAZING so worth itI watched the video and looked at the photos and I was all ready sold on it, I bought it and in my opinion it was better than the video and photos, the AR and everything works perfectly.Version: 6.6

So goodOmg when I was on holiday the sky was so clear are with with app we got to see a rocket space station Milky Way and so much more with is for sure 5/1.Version: 8.1.9

Made my phone slowThis update is soo cool, but it has made my phone really slow and unable to load other apps like facebook and that.Version: 3.2

#1Best app ever for space and stars enthusiasts.Version: 6.2.3

Sky guidePretty easy to use…although not always accurate 🤦🏻‍♀️ I really like notifications about what’s happening in my sky and tine 👍👍.Version: 10.2

Superb, but some suggestions.I wish that I could have rated your product a 4.8 instead of integer 5, as there are two things I’d love to see. First, once I have searched for an object, please don’t unlock the search when I touch the screen again. Or give me the option to remain locked once I find something. It is very annoying to turn off the compass, type in something, find it, and then “lose” it when I tap the compass again. Another example is if I want to advance the clock a couple of hours to see where an object might be later. Second, I’ve been using your product as an aid in astrophotography. When aiming a 400mm lens, it’s been a lifesaver. That said, placing my iPhone flat on the back of a DSLR to aim it is OK, but it can be very awkward when something is high above the horizon (such as Andromeda as I write this). A “90 degree” viewing option would be extremely helpful so I can put my phone flat on the hot shoe of the camera or edge on to the back of it. Even a “mirror image” view, where I can put the phone across the filter ring of my lens and effectively look over my shoulder would be very helpful. All in all, a great piece of software..Version: 8.1.9

Sky GuideThis may be my first time eating an application and that being so, I am happy to share my review of Sky Guide. I enjoy the outdoors enormously, in fact I am lucky to live two blocks from the beach from where I get to use SkyGuide each time I ride to the beach right after sunset. That is when I get to use the application and pinpoint it at the brightest to to the the hardly visible stars or contemplations observable with my naked eye. Thereafter it is all about reading and learning their names, their history and every other detailed shared by the app and my chosen star or constellation. I am glad that someone thought of combining ideas, knowledge and technology to the delight of all of us, star gazers..Version: 10.6

Thank for the update..💫.Version: 10.4.1

Night and DayGreat app, easy to use, with a lot of information on the night (and day) sky. Instead of guessing what that star is...or arguing with someone who says it’s a planet...remove all doubt and enjoy the night sky in peace and harmony..Version: 8.0.1

L’infini hors de mon crâne, c’est ma constellation.Ouf! Époustouflant!.Version: 10.6

Upgrade was poor decision.I’ve had this app on my iPhone & iPad for years and enjoyed it immensely. Recently I got an alert to upgrade and decided, for my photography business, it was worth it. Now, however, I cannot get the app to load on my iPhone nor my iPad. On both devices it promptly crashes. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times, powered both devices on & off multiple times, made certain my IOS was updated. Occasionally it loads & works then the next time I launch, it immediately crashes. I now consider this an unreliable app and will look for alternatives to recommend to my astrophotography students..Version: 10.2

Please download this app!I was a bit hesitant but once I downloaded the app, I absolutely adored it! You learn so much about what’s above you, to the side and under! It is a joyful experience every time for me and my family 💫.Version: 10.3.1

Amazing educational tool and Astro photographyThis has been great to teach my girls about the stars and see their fascination. I regularly use it while out filming at night to choice locations for filming to maximise the position of the stars..Version: 6.0.2

Just wowI had this app on my first generation ipad before it stopped being supported. Got it on my mac thinking, "it can't be that good on laptop since it is a mobile app." It has surpassed my expectations. Quality just like on the ipad. One feature i would like to see is if Mac independent support came into use than the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in. I have no more words i absolutely love this. Super helpful when i take my nat geo newtonian telescope out on clear nights and look for objects of interest.Version: 10.2

I am still learning how to navigate my way for PleiadesSearch to see in the morning NZ time I am from New Zealand and live south of Auckland and looking for Pilates preferably in the morning and I do enjoy looking at the Star Map to help me navigate my way around and thank you for this for your service.Version: 10.1.1

QualitéTrès bien fait et professionnel..Version: 10.4.1

Makes me forget to breathe! The sky is my first love, and a near-obsession.. so many thanks to the developers for creating this wonder; it is, in a word, perfection. The ambient music, the ease of use, the incredible amount of information, instructions all wonderful, even details of space below our horizon. I somehow relish the thought of sleeping beneath the Draco & Ursula Minor constellations, and I have to say, the visuals should be enjoyed on as large a mobile screen as possible, although it can be dizzying if you move it too quickly. It’s easy to romanticise the stars and to be in awe of space, of which we know so little...I love it, and the mysteries it holds, as it’s sometimes the only thing that makes me feel that the silly little irksome things, and nasty people don’t matter...just look up and wonder. This makes me miss Carl Sagan: “the sky calls to us, if we do not destroy ourselves we will one day venture to the stars” We miss you, Dr. Sagan, but feel a bit closer to you with simple and beautiful tools such as this one. Just remember to breathe..Version: 6.7.1

Great AppVery user friendly, easy to navigate and accurate navigation for where you are pointing your phone in the sky. Includes fun facts of the mythology behind the constellations, and in depth info on individual stars and planets..Version: 10.4.1

Really Neat!!This app is amazing if you love star viewing! It’s really fun to pull up the app at night and to see which stars you’re looking at. It’s amazing for viewing the slow rotation of the earth too, great for getting a better understanding of that. The graphics are beautiful, but what really makes this app is all the handy features on it. Bedsides showing you which stars are where, you can also select rockets, satellites, and the space station and it shows you LIVE where it is so you can potentially see it (if it’s currently visible in your hemisphere). You can also look up upcoming meteor showers and it will tell you which way to look! You can even see different electromagnetic waves through this lens filter type thing. There’s more than that, definitely worth the $2.99, and I neeeever get anything but free apps!.Version: 6.6

Awesome!I love the way you can see all of the constellations and their names and how it moves around depending on where you focus the camera. it is a very good app and who ever thought it up is very very smart. please can you tell me which button you have to press to make it move around when you focus it somewhere because I have forgotten,Please reply..Version: 10.3.1

Makes it a good learning tool for anyone Daniel.I will recommend this to friends..Version: 10.3.1

Great AppLove this app. Use it all the time. Notifys me every time the Space Station is going over..Version: 10.4

What can beat this ?This app gives you all the information you need to intrigue you. Opens you mind into how lucky you are to exist, Craig 🤗.Version: 8.1.9

Always thereI've had this app for a few years and it's always there with the info i need, when i need it. When i wanna know what I'm looking at in the sky i hold up my phone with the satellite on and it shows me what's around there. When i thought i legit saw a SPACECRAFT in the sky, i was able to look through the helpful updates and astronomy articles about space stuff to learn about what meteor shower i just witnessed. (Im not saying spacecrafts aren't real). This app helped me learn how to identify jupiter and saturn in the night sky on my own, and what a meteorite looks like shooting across the sky (got to see some aquariids 🥰). I cant remember if you have to pay for this app, that's how often i use it (but im also constantly talking about stars)..Version: 10.0.3

Literally Life ChangingI love this app on a night by the campfire. It sends my imagination to places it wouldn’t normally be able to go ans then I can share that with whoever is present! Wow what an amazing experience. The music is celestial and magical too! I highly recommend this app to hikers, adventurers, astronomers and curious people. This is a window to understanding the universe! It keeps a rightful place on my Home Screen.Version: 8.1.9

CommentaireSuper intéressant comme application, je l’utilise presque tous les jours. Seul regret: ne pas avoir une version en langue française des explications et documents. Merci.Version: 10.4.1

BrilliantThis app is fantastic & easy to use, I like it over all other, however if you want the most buy this app it’s well worth it..Version: 10.4.1

Love this app...One of the best apps around. Easy to use and informative. My daughter and I often use it when camping..Version: 6.6

Opening my eyes to the galaxyWhat a revelation this has been to me! I look forward to getting my five minute warnings to observe the ISS and other man made wonders along with learning about our own little solar system and the ever-expanding galaxy..Version: 6.7.1

Beautiful, Just BeautifulHands down the best stargazing app on the market. If the compass is confused, the app allows you to manually adjust the offset so that it shows the correct perspective. The app actually depicts the relative brightness of stars correctly, so stars like Sirius and Betelgeuse are significantly more prominent than others. What you see in the app actually matches reality. The ability to tap on stars and nebulae and get stories and facts about them is awesome. The actual graphics themselves are just beautiful too on their own. High level of customizability. Makes me want to buy the Pro version even though I don’t want it just to support the developers because this app exudes passion..Version: 10.2

Love this app!I’ve always loved the stars and tried to work out the constellations but nothing made sense until I found this app. I use it daily and can now spot some constellations without the app, as well as teaching my children the stars, their names and the planets. 100% recommend to anyone interested in our night sky..Version: 10.1.1

Unbelievable...Rarely am I impressethis app is something that I wished I had always wanted when I was a child and now my kids and I use it frequently when we aecamping outside. we LOVE IT!with an app. This app blew me away. It is a beautiful creation. Kudos to those who designed and created it. My two sons (5 & 9 years old) and I have had great fun peering into the night sky. The look on their faces when they discovered that the "star" they thought they were looking at was actually the planet Jupiter ...priceless. Thank you for that gift. I would recommend this app to any parent and anyone who has ever looked into the night sky with wonder..Version: 10.0.3

More than a star gazing toolThis has so much. Artwork, incredible tools like a camera overlay to pick out your specific target, news items, articles, curated observations, fact sheets, it’s such a complete package it’s hard to even quantify. Brilliant..Version: 10.4.1

Richard martinAwesome details many options Worth the download.Version: 10.4.1

Best app aroundI’ve used this app for approx 5 years and it’s still the best out there.Version: 8.1.1

My favourite app.I love it. I love the compass feature, I love the information, how easy it is to work, and the music! It relaxes me, and makes me happy just to sit on the app and look around, click on interesting new finds & read the info (there's so. much. info!) Favourite app for chilling out and easily learning about astronomy..Version: 10.4.1

A terrific appA terrific source of information for anyone interested in the stars, planets and what’s out there in space, no matter what level of knowledge you have in astronomy. Point your iPhone to the sky and identify an object in space. Love being advised when the space station comes overhead. A great app. - love it!.Version: 8.1.8

AwsomeGreat app and greT music.Version: 7.1.1

🪐LOVE IT!!!🪐✨Very cool app for free! No issues while using it ✨.Version: 8.1.9

Great for kids!My children and I noticed a couple really bright looking stars tonight. I was guessing that, with their size and color, they were planets, but wanted to know which ones and also what some of the other bright “stars” were in the sky. So I looked through the stars/planet apps and found this one. My kids got to bed about an hour late because we were so fascinated with everything we could see with this app!! I’m totally in love it and wish I’d downloaded it earlier!! I also usually never spend money to get upgrades for the apps, but I’m totally doing it with this one!! All I can say is get it!! You won’t be disappointed!.Version: 10.0.3

AmazingThis is an amazing app. Pretty, educational and fun. It’s easy to use as well. I would LOVE to see support integrated for telescope use such as an automatic azimuth mount controller. Keep the updates coming, I’d love to see even more detail of existing objects as they become available through current research. Thank you for years of enjoyment..Version: 8.1.6

StarsLove this!.Version: 6.7.1

Fantastic App!Since downloading this app I have had a lot of fun identifying stars in the night sky that I have always been curious about. One piece of improvement I would like to see which I think would make this app perfect is to have it show an outline of countries when removing the iPad below the horizon. That way we can see exactly where the sun, moon etc is in relation to other countries. Especially if we could see a name for each country....Version: 3.0

Am I using the same app? - EDITED*** please see my update below *** With all the great reviews, I must have downloaded a different app. I use several astronomy apps , but this is the only one that thinks east is west and north is south. I emailed the developer and was told to try the figure 8 trick, but I'd already attempted that several times. Upped my rating from 1 star to 3 since I did receive a response, but being off 180 degrees makes it unusable except for indoor couch sessions. *** Okay, I just reinstalled after 2 years of using other astronomy apps and it's sensing directions properly now. Whatever was causing the compass to be off has been corrected, so I'm giving it 5 stars since the other astronomy apps are wanting to milk me for money every opportunity they can and this app still continues to operate without further expenditure. ***.Version: 6.6

So refreshing and I learn something new every dayAs a child, you look up at the stars you always wonder what am I looking at? To have this today and have a young child with me to look up the heavens and see stars, with this iPad in my hands to use real time technology to see what we are actually looking at, sure beats a telescope. The information is mind-boggling; the actual scientific information plus the history lessons. It even enhances my curiosity to want to use it more and more. Thank goodness Flagstaff is a dark skies city. And then go to the Lowell Observatory and appreciate what others have done for us in the past. John van Wyke.Version: 10.3

Fantastic!I can’t see them lighting up, but I give this app five stars. I started following the stars with this app about a year ago. Before that, I would watch the stars with boyfriends and occasionally when just sitting in the yard. Since I got Sky Guide, I love following the stars and learning more about them, especially the I SS. I was out in the front yard when it was dark one night and was commenting on how beautiful Venus was. He tried to tell me that that was the ISS. I laughed a little, and said “No, the ISS is much faster than that, faster than I ever thought it would be “, and showed him a video that I had gotten just a few nights before. He was pretty astounded. I would recommend this to anyone..Version: 10.4

Awesome AstronomyHeard about this from Jen on the Awesome Astronomy podcast, the app is everything she said it was and more. The only criticism is some of the data is out of date. It talks about events that are going to happen in 2019 for example..Version: 10.0.6

Absolutely stellar!Love this app, so packed with info, and I love being able to identify heavenly bodies as I'm looking at them. Just amazing..Version: 6.2.3

This is the best to locate any starsThis is so helpful for tracking, all the planets and all the stars 100% recommend.Version: 10.4

A dream come aliveI’ve had this app for more than 2 years. And I’ve loved every single bit of it. When I was younger, I wanted to become an astrophysicist or an astronaut. I still do, but my path has now changed into a different direction. My dreams are now so far away, but this app made it closer than ever. The music, the feel. I cry because I love watching the stars and how the world always seems to stop whenever I stare up into the sky. It has become a place of peace for me, a sanctuary from this life. I forget everything, and just imagine myself staring up at a sky that isn’t blue but black. I wish I could ascend above the clouds and see that. And I might just do that. But for now, this app is perfect for a dreamer like me who looks up at the stars and wishes. 💜.Version: 8.0.1

The sky in my handsThe first thing in the morning: to see my place in the universe.Version: 10.4

Top apps everThis is one of the very, very few apps I have consistently and continue to routinely use since getting my first iPhone back in 2010, iPhone 4. It’s that good. I love the beautiful simplicity of it while being the most accurate of any other “star guide” app on the market. I love the explanations of each star, satellites, monthly news on what to look for in the coming weeks/months! I also REALLY appreciate the developers for not over-complicating the app with stupid subscription plans, ads and all the other grubby behavior so many once great apps have sadly adopted (and therefore ruined). Please keep it up and thank you for making such a fab app! My only wish is to see when certain lower atmosphere radio/satellites are spinning around over oceanic coastlines where lots of fishing occurs but I understand that is not exactly this apps “astronomical” intention. :D.Version: 8.1.9

It doesn’t seem to be accurate sometimesThe app has been saying that the moon is over a complete different side to where I can see it. It didn’t say that the moon was named the moon when I put my camera towards it on the app..Version: 10.1.1

Incredible updateI have used this app for ages as a reference for star naming and spotting but with the latest update this app is just incredible. Well done to the team behind this app, the new features like the calendar and particularly the dark sky map make this invaluable to the night photographer. If I could give this review 10 stars I would!.Version: 7.0.1

ExtraordinaryBeautiful graphics, effortless UI and packed with useful tools that aid and inform stargazing for everyone; the customizable time and location, allowing you to explore the skies of almost the entire planet for a given time, is one of my favourite features. Unquestionably the best stargazing app I've used..Version: 7.1.1

Great but latest update has broken compass! For some reason since the last update, whenever I click on compass it locks on to a particular place and doesn’t move at all. Otherwise a fantastic app which I use all the time!.Version: 10.0.3

Excellent Informative AppThis is very entertaining and the alerts that it gives to see satellites and the things like the International Space Station give time to see the objects that might otherwise be missed. Great help when viewing unfamiliar skies in another hemisphere..Version: 6.5.2

SuggestionsBasically free. A lot of useful functions are provided even before paying for pro. Suggestion: a platform to upload photos and share the sky you see - especially the phenomenons in the notifications. Will be nice to form a nice stargazers community..Version: 10.4.1

J’adoreJ’utilise en photographie et pour d’autres découvertes!.Version: 10.6

Totally awesomeThis app is totally worth buying! It’s so pretty to look at plus it has everything you’ve ever wondered about when it comes to star💫 gazing or finding out where our space stations are, without this app i probably wouldn’t have known Mars was so close to earth 🌏 the 1st time in 15yrs!! Being able to share the beauty of the universe and all that is out there amazing thank you ☺️ 🌟.Version: 6.7.1

Into-stellar!!Great way to explore the heavens. Constellations appear with a superimposed artwork that captures your imagination (these can also be turned off in settings). Easily to reach information blurbs can be found along side each point of interest. These give you an insight into the background and current knowledge of the object; name, mythology and science information such as star type, size are provided in most cases. I have used this app for years and it will continue to encourage me out side and to look up! 5 celestial beauties out of 5!.Version: 8.0.3

Stargazing Made Easy and Fun with Sky Guide"Sky Guide is an awesome app for anyone who loves stargazing. It's full of cool space facts and makes checking out the stars super easy and fun. The app is really user-friendly, so finding your way around the night sky is a breeze. Great for casual sky watchers or anyone curious about astronomy. Definitely worth checking out if you're into stars and planets!".Version: 10.6

This is good. Real good.Sat out in the back garden one evening last Summer, fire dwindling, stargazing, I noticed something in the sky moving really serenely, making no noise, no flashing. I thought it may have been some sort of satellite so I pulled out my phone and pointed Sky Guide up at the thing. Low and behold there it was. Moving on my phone to match its path in the sky - labelled International Space Station. Technology is incredible and this app is worth every penny..Version: 8.1.2

Fantastic! This app has way more features than I thought! It’ll show you the names of stars planets, and other space structures and even provides articles on them. It tells you when they rise, set, and the best time to view them. This app even has a compass feature, allowing you to point your phone at a star and see which one it is! Sky Guide also has a Calendar feature that lets you know about upcoming events like what days planets will be most visible or when planets will be in close proximity to the moon in the night sky. I definitely recommend this app to space lovers like myself. I can’t get off this app!.Version: 7.1.1

Best Star App everI have been using this wonderful App since 2016 when cruising the Canal de Midi in France. It was invaluable for understanding the stars of the northern hemisphere which were foreign to me. I still use it regularly now we live in country Queensland, Australia. I just love that I can look up and find out what the planets or stars are that we can see. Thank you to whoever put this together. You have brought great joy to looking at the magnificent creation in the night’s sky..Version: 10.4

Brilliant night sky AppI am so pleased with this App, I’ve had it a couple of years now but I’m using it more frequently. It always gives accurate detail, the graphics are beautiful, and you can set it to the level of information you want. Just had my first clear identification of the ISS-Thrilling..Version: 10.6

Great app but…..This app is fantastic! It’s easy to use, intuitive, pretty accurate and the design and UX is amazing! The only thing I wish it has was the ability to use it using a virtual reality headset like Google Cardboard or Oculus! Please make it happen!!!!.Version: 10.1.1

Fantastic appI've only had it for a day but I'm addicted. This is a brilliant app that orients itself to your location in real time and space. Who knew there were so many satellites passing overhead almost constantly?! If you have any interest in what is going on over your head you will not be disappointed in this app..Version: 3.0

Fantastic appI just went by what others had to say about this app too and I have to admit it is one of the best apps out there period. Highly recommend.Version: 3.0

Absolutely the bestI’ve had this app for a couple of years and loved it from the start but since the recent updates all I can say is wow! It is quite simply superb!.Version: 10.0.2

AR = MIND. BLOWN.I’ll state right away that I own pretty much every astronomy app that’s worth owning. I’m not an expert by any means, just an avid fan who’s always interested in learning more about space. I’ve never left a review for any of the apps in this category before but, after spending just 5 minutes exploring my evening sky in augmented reality, I felt compelled to congratulate the developer for nailing it right out of the gate. The controls are intuitive and the tips show on screen at the perfect time. That’s how I found the sky blending feature and that’s when the real magic happens! Before AR it always seemed like the star or planet in the sky that I was trying to identify with the app was close to what I was seeing on my device but it often felt like I was just guessing that I had my phone or iPad pointed at the right spot of light in the sky. However, with AR and the sky blending feature I “know” that I’m identifying the exact point of light in the sky that interests me. If you’re on the fence about purchasing this app stop wasting your time. Tap buy and get outside!!!✨💫✨.Version: 6.5

Best app everI really think you should download this app it teaches you a lot about space and if your stargazer like me this app is definitely for you. you can look at the stars and the best thing is with your phone or iPad you can like move your phone and it will point at the stars in your direction I can’t explain this app but if you go and download it it will teach you a lot about space so please download this app and share support from Ruby.Version: 10.2

Unforgettable times with my sonGoing to bed with my then seven year old was always a challenge. He was and still is spinning in high freqency and it’s always hard to get to bed. Just one more game, one more story, one more, one more. I had the fscination of the stars and the universe from a very young age. Read and learnt whatever was available at the time. Following that passion I downloaded this app. One night instead of trying to order and beg my son into the bed I turned this app on and started looking out the window. He then asked me what it was. I explained him about Orion’s belt that was up that night. The giant star Betelgeuse. We kept track of Syrius the frosty star. That became our favorit star. Hope the others wont take offence. We moved from London where we were at that time but we still search for our stars. If we see them then all is good. Thanks for the opportunity that I could share the love of stars and that we can learn so much about them..Version: 6.5.2

Change of mindWhen the app started working finally I got to see what was a subscription and what wasn’t. It’s not too bad for the first upgrade, but it’s easy to say that depending how many things someone is subscribed to. These days everything takes a subscription it seems, and they add up fast. Overall I feel like it’s worth it if you use the app frequently and actually enjoy and use all of the extra features. For what I use it for the version I originally paid for is just fine, and no sub needed. The app is very very beautiful, and the music adds so much to it. It’s very relaxing and it really puts you in the star gazing mood. Here I was thinking it was ridiculous to charge for a sub and figured I wouldn’t get to even use the app barely unless I paid, but for me that’s not the case. Luckily if you want you can sub for a month and easily drop it when it’s not affordable or maybe not using the app as much. All in all it’s a great app with a lot of detail and effort. Glad I have it working now and can actually go back to enjoying the part that makes it enjoyable to me!.Version: 10.0.3

Great funReally enjoying learning more about the constellations, not just what can be seen but also the history of many celestial objects (names, associated myths, etc). The music is annoying, but you can switch that off. The fact that the constellations are shown with the creatures they are named after, makes identifying them easier, mapping each one onto an image. I am already using this on most clear evenings…thanks Sky Guide!.Version: 10.3

The definitive sky appFor a long time now I've had this app and it's getting better and better with every update. Don't look for similar apps, this is the one you want..Version: 5.0

Sky GuideThis is an excellent app. So far I use the free version but am contemplating upgrading which is only just over £17:00 but less than £18:00 a year. The free version is great and is good for identifying constellations, planets, stars and so on. You get notifications of events such as the International Space Station flyovers. It’s really good. I like it..Version: 10.2

An astronomy mustGetting this app was the best thing I did for my interest in astronomy..Version: 10.4

Deep calls to DeepI’ve loved this app from the beginning, bringing astronomy and physics into the room, the space I inhabit. I constantly return to it, use it, orient with it. For me the soundtrack is an added bonus and just fits, whilst the super massive is amazing and fun. A great great buy..Version: 10.3.1

Curiosity didn't kill the cat!I was curious about this app and wondered why all the ratings were all five stars...it looked a little convincing but once I decided to buy it, I've never looked back! It is one of the best apps I have ever purchased, well worth the money and very educational too with detailed explanations about all the stars, planets, satellites etc. It's also very accurate, we went outside and everything was as it said on the app! I would give it 10/5 stars if I could! Everyone should buy this app! Makes me wonder about if we will ever get to visit Space one day and visit the beautiful night skies with the naked eye! :).Version: 3.0

A Star is BornExcellent response, visuals and customised instant info, in the light of day and night. Sheds light on even the darkest parts of the universe. Gob smacking accuracy in the timing of natural and human made space objects. Using the app to track the ISS rising from the equator, passing overhead on a clear night, then disappearing below the opposite horizon, is probably makes me feel ten years old again! A slight irritation, which is probably my own fault, is that, even though It knows my location in the UK, I seem to get notifications as if in the USA. Open to suggestions about that..Version: 6.5.2

Amazing appI've always been fascinating by space, constellations and what is beyond our reach. But recognising constellations takes a bit of work and a lot of imagination! Thankfully this app helps in shaping artful pics on constellations. It also gives lots of info on stars (mythology behind/ composition, etc...). Love it..Version: 6.6

Sky GuideFor a free program it’s brilliant as it’s loaded with great features that many others I have tried you have to pay for. I love the detailed explanations and Data regarding the planets, stars and Messier objects. Clearly the best one of the free astronomy apps. Can’t wait for a 2.0.Version: 8.1.9

Who needs free astronomy gamesThis is the totality solar eclipse of astronomy games.Version: 8.1.9

Incredible. Worth paying forI wanted a map of the night sky, especially when I can’t go outside due to COVID. I looked at quite a few options in the app store, most of which had a monthly subscription fee of $5, which was too much for me! I saw the preview for sky guide and how rich the information seemed to be, and saw it was only $3 to buy it. So I did and it’s absolutely incredible!! I can see anywhere in the night sky, even places that would normally be obscured by the horizon. There’s information about the magnitude of stars, and lots of greek mythology. The only thing I would say is I would love to be able to zoom out more and have a greater view of the sky from my phone, but I figured that if I was actually lying under the stars, the view on my phone would be proportional to what I would see in the sky (if that makes sense!).Version: 8.1.9

Fascinating AND a fun way to learn! What a brilliant app! I love star gazing anyway and I'm one of those people who feel the almost physical 'pull' on me whenever I look at them. Mesmerising 'seeing' the beautiful sky that is all around us..Version: 8.1.2

Learning about space like a bossI was hoping for an app like this. I can learn how to identify the stars in night in style!.Version: 5.1

A superb appWhat a great app this is. I have found great pleasure in roving the night sky with this. I used to use paper maps to see celestial objects when I was a kid. This is such a pleasure compared. Also tonight I watched the International Space Station sore overhead brighter than Jupiter exactly when and where the app predicted. I can recommend to anyone who has a sense of wonder for the big big picture of what is up there in the sky..Version: 6.6

Best sky app availableIf you’re willing to pay a few dollars a month, this is, by far the best app available. It has everything. I’ve been using the Sky Guide app to help plan my astrophotography for a few years now. When they added the field of view I was pretty excited. The field of view lets you visualize what a view through your telescope would look like as well as a photo through your telescope. Just input what camera or scope you have and voila! But now, they’ve added mosaic planner! Input your scope, camera, and how many tiles, and you’re good to go. With lots of options to export the coords. I’ll use the ASIair option! Such an amazing app that is continually updated and has been improved on with every update for several years. Great job team!!.Version: 10.3

BrilliantThis is the best App ever, it is excellent. One of my favourite features is the notifications which I have activated. The International Space Station alert blows us away. Once you get the alert, just hit the go to function (outside of course), point your phone where the App directs you to, and as long as the sky is clear, there it is as clear as can be, fantastic. If you want to identify stars, planets, and constellations, just scan the sky with your phone. The clearer the night, the more you'll see. "Buy It".Version: 5.1

Left me speechless🌌I have never rated any app before, This is just amazing, Augmented reality 💙.Version: 8.1.2

Outstanding appThis app has been such a good tool for learning more about the cosmos and constellations. Our family loves it!.Version: 10.6

Best Stargazing App By Far!This is very worth the money! I use this app everyday, and I love it. My favorite part is that just by pressing the compass at the top, you can move your phone around like you are actually looking at the night sky! You can identify any star in the sky with this app. Not just that, you can see any galaxy, nebula, satellite, planet, star, etc. with this app. It is perfect for skywatching out on a clear and dark night. There is nothing to dislike about this app! I’m not just saying this just because I want to, I’m actually serious. It is super informational and notifies you of passing satellites and so much more! Please buy this app if you’re looking for an amazing stargazing app. It has EVERYTHING..Version: 6.6

All you needA beautiful experience. Super smooth and visually stunning with all the information you need. Look no further..Version: 4.0.1

IndispensableI’ve tried dozens of pieces of software purporting to do similar things over the years, but never have I found another that does anything remotely close. Not only is it impressively functional in just the right ways and feature-rich for those who want to dive deeper, it’s also visually stunning. It’s become an indispensable piece of my observation toolkit, to the point that everything else has been effectively obsoleted when it comes to planning and wayfinding in the field. I never hesitate to recommend it, and everybody I show immediately understands why..Version: 10.0.6

Gg very goodI’ve had app for a few years. It’s pretty lit for locating anything. even your marbles. Have fun kiddos.Version: 6.7.1

Wonderful!I’m an amateur astronomer who always used Stellarium before, but now I use Sky Guide. I love the fact that it uses real sky images and has AR implemented. Packed with nice features! The only thing it lacks is an equatorial and azimuth gridlines overlay option (hopefully in a future version)..Version: 10.3.1

Must Buy!If you love the night sky then this is the number one app you must purchase for your device. I own on both my iPhone & iPad for just the one cost. Satellite locations including ISS passes are just the added fun bits of this amazing app. The bulk is masses amounts of encyclopaedic information on the Cosmos. Tap on a star, a planet, a moon & read all the detailed information about it. Peruse the night sky at your leisure. Sun, planet, moon, rising & setting times are great too!.Version: 6.2.3

Diane Delisle, amateurFantastique, jamais application n'aura été plus pratique pour les curieux. Même, mon petit-fils de 4 ans s'émerveille!!.Version: 6.2.3

Soo much better than SkyViewWhen I bought this app, I was expecting it to look a little bit better than the star-gazing app that I was using at the time: SkyView. When compared to Skyview, Sky Guide is clearly the more advanced application, as it has better quality. Its planet animations look stunning, along with a subtle, beautiful design to the overall app itself. It can be seen that the app was designed with the consumer in mind due to the many features included: pinch to zoom (which displays a richer, starlit sky closer up), a filter mode (allowing the user to see the universe through different light filters such as gamma, thermal, etc.), and finally the inclusion of AR capabilities that can map celestial bodies precisely with their counterparts within the app, gaining an immense amount of accuracy when star-tracking. All in all, I love this app and I definitely recommend it to all of those who are interested in the night sky..Version: 6.6

Amazing! Minor improvements could be madeThis app does just about everything, however there’s a few items I feel it misses or could improve. Firstly, adding more asteroids/comets/satellites. There are only some major objects that you can search and find, adding more of these would be great. Secondly it would be fantastic to add in a oxygen 3 and sulphur 2 views (to add to the hydrogen alps view). Finally it would be great if you could set multiple locations as favourites and toggle between them, instead of having to find them each time on the map view. Love everything else about this app!.Version: 8.1.9

Best App you can find period. The only way i could rate this 5 stars without any doubt was if I designed and created it myself…only then would I rate it less due to my own criticism! Even if you have zero interest in looking at stars and planets, there is so much more to see and do! Don't second guess yourself, just pay the $2.99 and brag to all about how smart you were to get such a great app at such a great price! I did try upgrading to pro, and it wasn't what i needed, so i unsubscribed before the free trial ended, and had no problems with my account going back to the original subscription, and no charges the following month…which was Sept. and why i waited to post review. Attention App creators! This app offered an upgrade to pro, they didnt however, hassle me to, or post ninja ads in my screen to annoy me, and they were transparent about the details and then followed thru with their promises, without excuses or mistakes! You can learn from this app and its protocols. This app combined with the 13pro max night mode camera feature has allowed me to capture stars that are not visible to my eyes, and some satellites that include ISS when it was justa mere +1.3!!! (Normally it has to be -2.0 or lower to get a clear shot) including starlinks and the Pleiades..Version: 10.3.1

Stunning appIt’s a pretty amazing app, breathtaking and beautiful, literally takes your mind to another world..Version: 10.3.1

Sky guide.Fantastic app. Accurate , interesting and informative. Wish l had this when I was a kid. Also very educational for anyone who is slightly interested in looking at the sky or for anyone who wants to make this a real hobby.. If l could l would give this app 10 stars.. excuse the pun. Great app to get children interested in star gazing. 👏👏👏.Version: 8.1.7

Compass calibrationHi team, really enjoy your app. Have used for years and recommend. I’m Apple and wondering if there is a way calibrate the compass. Currently out and having to manually adjust each use..Version: 8.1.9

Stars appThis is the best stars app out there. I've downloaded many only to be disappointed, and then have deleted them. I won't be looking any further. Cheers..Version: 3.0

To gaze deeply into the beyondWhen we go camping, when the kids are asleep and the fire burns. I get comfy under the stars with this app. The ethereal music soothes me as my mind excites itself at the discovery of what is up there. From constellations to space junk, I find this app a companion and a guide. Undeletable.Version: 6.6

Fantastic appJust so easy to use and do many features, one of my most used apps.Version: 10.0

Explore, teach, connect, and enjoy! If you know the night sky, this app immediately puts details at your fingertips. If you are somewhat familiar, it will dial you in instantly. You’ll be sharing it with those around you and hear sentences starting with “I never knew...” whispered in astonishment. Set up the alerts and learn the magnificence of the ISS as it wheels across the sky. Track the planets through the summer skies. Touch the info circle next to an object and learn about Messier objects or the original Greek myths they saw reflected in their heavens. Become a citizen of the universe. This simple app has become an important part of my life that has helped bind my family together..Version: 7.0.4

Snow MoonMy world kind of flipped on its head this past new year. Generally like to look out at the city at night but I started staring at the stars a little more leading up to the snow moon. It was cloudy on the 8th but I still took a midnight hike in a few hills behind my city. The moon made a few winks but the clouds kind of disappointed my hope & blacked out the stars. Half-gave up until I laid down flat on my back and tested this app real quick. I’ve tinkered with a few AR star gazing apps a few years ago but those apps never really reached beyond the screen. Tech didn’t quite do the stars justice in the past. Tech could probably still do more for educationally brilliant apps like these but, at the very least, it does well with the stars. I appreciate the beauty. I haven’t the taken the time to appreciate it and its near infinite astrophysical wonders as much as I should — experience that night made my new appreciation starkly apparent. For what it’s worth, thanks. Reminders in moments like those bring genuine feelings of awesome peace. *** Physics, yo. Carry’s love. ***.Version: 8.1.2

Absolutely brilliantThis app is fantastic and I’d recommend it to anyone. It’s so helpful for a layman trying to figure their way around the night sky and I’ve learned so much from it. The background music is also beautiful. It makes the whole stargazing experience feel even more magical. Absolutely fabulous app, I’ll never use another! 🌌🔭.Version: 6.6

Absolutely brilliantAs a Year 10 student who is never really involved or interested with space or the universe, I have to admit that after buying and downloading this app I have become so much more interested in what’s out there. This app is absolutely brilliant, whether you are in your room or outside, it is interesting nevertheless. Firstly, it was absolutely breathtaking at the visuals, all the constellations are visible. I find the compass feature amazing, you are able to face any direction and it will show which stars are there at this exact moment. This app also tells you when approximately the sun rises or reaches its peak, as well as other stars and planets too. Once you click on the star, it provides really interesting information to read and you’ll find yourself reading for hours and being intrigued. News is also provided from the space station, and you are able to see upcoming comets and eclipses and when the moon will be full. Every penny was worth spending on this app, and you can joy even without the secondary subscription. Definitely recommend if you are bored and looking for something to amaze you, or you’re just simply intrigued by our universe..Version: 7.0.1

Best App for planning Astrophotography!I love Sky Guide. I use it every clear night when I’m planning my data acquisition on the fly!.Version: 10.2

This is the one you are looking for.If only you got this one the first time, you would have saved yourself so much mucking around with clunky UIs and staring out into cloudy skies wondering, is that it? This app works really well and is the easiest to use and understand..Version: 8.1.9

Best app everI am a nerd with astrology but sometimes it's nice to know what's in the sky and events happening! I do have one suggestion.. Maybe something that shows where constellations and stars will be at different times.Version: 10.6

Absolutely amazingSimply excellent!!!.Version: 8.0.5

Far and away the best app of its kindI’ve had this app pretty much since it was released. It is far and away the best stargazing/sky reference app available. It’s full of features and detailed information on everything- be it planets, stars, satellites, rockets, space debris, galaxies, constellations, etc. I recommend it to people all the time. Most importantly, when people start pulling their phones out to check out the sky at night, they always end up saying “wow which app is that?” and delete the one they had and download this one instead. That’s really all you need to know. Also something I like is that it doesn’t have the cartoonish feel of many similar apps. Really just can’t stress enough how much this app is better than the rest..Version: 6.7.1

Best value app everIf you only buy one app for star gazing buy this one, the new AR feature is superb. I have both an iPad Pro and iPhone 7+ and it works perfectly on both, I did have a small problem setting up iPhone, but totally sorted by using the troubleshooter after advice from the support team..Version: 6.5.1

Very valuable toolGreat app for basic astronomy needs. Easy to use and it has a lot features for a smartphone app..Version: 10.2

Best app ever, and thank you for adding AR modeThis app is the best on the market AND it’s affordable as well. The SUPERMASSIVE add on is great as well (worth subscribing to) because it shows all the deep sky objects in detail. But most of all thank you for adding Augmented Reality because now we can see what part of the sky the objects are in. (YAY!)😄😄😄.Version: 6.5.2

Sky guideExcellent. Gives great interface and lots of information. Best astronomy program I’ve used..Version: 10.3

A Great Astronomy App!I recently downloaded this app after hearing of it from a friend, and while I didn’t subscribe to the PLUS feature, the app alone has a LOT of great features for free. Including the history of different constellations, when certain stars and constellations are visible, moon phases, and when planets in the solar system are most visible. I’m amazed at how much the app has to offer without paying for the PLUS feature, unlike most apps these days where you would need to pay some form of subscription for a better app experience. I would recommend this to a friend or just anyone who is into astronomy! 💫🌕.Version: 10.2

Connecting us to the heavensI love this app, together with its cosmic background music. It’s easy to find the plants and stars you are looking for and information about them both scientifically and mythologically speaking. The graphics are great and I feel really ‘in it’ when I use it..Version: 8.1.2

Dr. I.G.Reignited a fascination - this App is a spectacular experience - well done..Version: 8.1.4

Wish it was possible to have stuff for freeIf you could access to every thing for free all year long.Version: 10.6

So enjoyableLove this app. It keeps getting better. Had it for so many years and the updates and enhancements are worth it. If you just want to check the sky once a month - it’s still worth it hands down..Version: 10.2

Star gazingHave come to look for particular stars by being shown their location. Now I see how in times past, people were able to navigate by the stars. Appreciate the notifications of stellar events..Version: 7.0.4

Great guide to the starsEasy to use and so much information and tools for accessing the heavens.Version: 6.2.3

Star Gazer’s friendAwesome app. Love the notifications, this evening I saw the ISS fly by and also the bright Jupiter ( I would have wondered what that was) Thinking to dive into getting the pro version. Hopefully it will have real-time visual field in the background..Version: 10.2

Very good💯🎉I love this app for its simplicity and how it works the only negative is that stuff I see on the app doesn’t line up it showed Arcturus tonight but when I looked at it through my telescope it was no where to be seen still great and made me be able to find a lot of stuff.Version: 10.6

Problem with update?Since the last update, when I select the search bar, it judders left and right and only stops when I close the search bar. I’ve reinstalled but still the same. Any ideas. It was fine pre update.Version: 10.0.2

No comparison BEST star appI’ve tried other apps that were difficult and confusing to navigate and locate certain objects and the horizon . As well as a kylines or planets , even galaxies ! Not with Star Guide not only does this app use your precise location but it gives u the BEST detailed information on your desired object and objects even in deep outer space and the images are stunning ! I haven’t upgraded to the 2 options either so I can only imagine what other breath taking images and extra information is provided with a upgraded subscription…..??? So weather u are a amateur gazer or a seasoned gazer this app is for you ! Thank you for reading . Peace to all Travis W..Version: 10.6

AmazingCould not get any better, just click on any star in the universe and you can learn all about it..Version: 10.6

5 ⭐️s, missing points of interestI'm absolutely loving this app. Can't say enough about it. That said, many of the things I'd be most interested in knowing where to find (e.g., Apep, TON 618, the Great GRB Wall, etc.) aren't cataloged (even with a Supermassive subscription). By no means is this any kind of deal breaker but I think allowing us to use coordinates (i.e. right ascession, declination) to find and favorite certain points in the sky would be a smart move. It'd give the app that much more appeal, as the user wouldn't just be getting a passive, exploratory experience but would actually get to chart the map out themselves, in a sense. Just my thoughts. I have no idea how feasible it would be but it'd be a great addition..Version: 8.0.3

Incredibly perfect. No buy, perfection. Buy it and OMG !!!.Version: 10.6

Absolutely Stunning, Most Helpful User friendly AppHonestly just take the time to download and explore it for yourself. Wether you’re using to for astrophotography, a helping hand while exploring with your telescope or just wanted to understand and know more about the night sky, this app will keep you updated on events and even customise the articles so all time is relevant to you! Very help and cannot recommend more. A+ and well worthy of being a “Choice” app..Version: 10.0.3

SkyGuide.Version: 10.4.1

Cherished SkyGuide!I have had this app for several years now and it has become my go-to when I am curious about the sky. My friends and I have had incredible evenings laying in the sand on beaches, staring at the sky and pointing at stars to see what we know about them. I’ve woken up many times in the middle of the night, wandered onto my patio and waved my phone around, saying hello to Jupiter and Saturn, Mars, Venus, and Mercury, all confirmed using the sky guide. I haven’t explored all the app is capable of, but the compass sky guide feature alone has very much expanded my world and taught me great things, and I love it for that!.Version: 10.6

AwesomeFor the very modest price of the app, you receive an amazing tool to help enjoy the wonders of the sky..Version: 10.6

Still the bestAlways been a fan of this app, and it just gets better and better every time. Being a Supermassive subscriber, I now have access to 1.7 billion stars too... I’ll NEVER be able to even find those, fantastic work!.Version: 6.7

Love it.I find this app perfect. All those times when I used to look up and wonder what those things were are now gone. My old Dad would have loved this. I would like more action and info about junk and satellites..Version: 7.1.1

The wonderWorks well. Great interface. Easy to use. Doesn't get in the way of the wonder.Version: 10.0.6

AwesomeI wish I had known about this a while ago I’ve been reading all sorts of books the old fella at work gave me and I was still none the wiser. The only one I could get right was the big orange thing that we sometimes see in England.😁.Version: 6.6

A great tool for viewing astronomical events but lacks sufficient supprtI have used this app for nearly as long as it has been out. It is a complex system with many options. While there is a help section, I could find no explicit answer to the question : How to take a photo". I emailed tech support but got no response. One should be able to just tap the screen. But if you press the right sided button you get Seri freezing up the phone. Pressing the right button and the upper left button works if you have a light touch, otherwise you end up nearly rebooting your phone. I notice it has been 5 months since they updated the app. There seem to be newer ones more consistently updated that I will be looking into using..Version: 8.1.9

ExcellentThis app is excellent. Robust and reliable. It may not be so detailed as some of the more professional apps but is an excellent introduction to the night sky and remarkably accurate. The fact that it doesn't need a cell connection or internet connection makes it extremely practical. It’s so good it can be used as a navigation aid for astrophotography. It certainly gets you into the close vicinity of objects for photography. if you mount your phone on top of your camera via the hot shoe adaptor the app will guide you to your chosen object using directional arrows on the screen. It works really well with none of the set up hassle of a goto motorised scope. Just tap the little compass icon once and it goes to work. Brilliant!.Version: 8.1.7

Amazing! Unbelievable! Thank you!I recommend this app wholeheartedly without reservation. This app is not only beautiful to look at as well as fun and easy to use, but also full of up to date information. It has always been an app of the highest quality and well worth the price. I can’t overstate how much I appreciate the fact that although I bought this app a few years ago, it still works as it did when I bought it. I appreciate that, unlike other apps I have bought, this app has not effectively stolen my money by insisting I buy a subscription in order to continue using it, not only that but it includes up to date information! To the developers of this app: Thank you so much for your integrity in honoring my original purchase and more!.Version: 8.1.9

Sound frequency vibrationIf I was you guys I would not pretend to know the sounds and frequencies of each it is False advertising and more to the point you’re only lying to yourself which is only holding you back from knowing what they truly feel like The sounds that you provide for the stars eg Are so far from the resonating truth it’s not funny why would you degrade a very good app otherwise with fake synthetic man-made frequencies you’ll never learn this way.Version: 8.1.9

Geopony1The kids and I love this app, not only does it give constellation and star names but it allows you to track the ISS so you can be sure to see it go overhead. Great app thanks.Version: 8.1.8

Literally the most relaxing app everI adore this app and i don’t even like astro(logy/nomy) that much. The music that sets the atmosphere, the little sound effects when you click on the stars, the pictures with the constellations and the added information; everything about it is so perfect and with the compass feature i can spend ages lost in my own world just staring at the sky. Highly recommend but also hope it stays a hidden gem.Version: 10.4.1

Worth every penny!Wouldn’t be without this app, spent hours looking to the night sky, its so useful to just quickly check whats shining at you from a far or to track something thats moving. Fascinating stuff. Buy this app, you will mot regret it, a wealth of information and detail awaits you!.Version: 8.1.9

AmazingThis app is amazing, with a huge attention to detail and billions of individual stars and objects to look at. You can look into the future and the past to see what has happened and what is gonna happen. The subscriptions are optional and as I have the top tier one it has an insane list of objects and even cinematic tours. This app is amazing even without the subscription. There is every space object imaginable. Well worth it..Version: 10.2

What an awesome app!!This app has been a huge game changer for us in the information about so many questions we have and the upcoming news/events of the coming night’s astronomy. It is really easy to navigate and I personally love the red screen for outdoor usage. Great job guys!.Version: 10.3

Perfect night owl appThis app has been dam amazing and only getting better with time. It has helped me plan my Astrophotography shots and timelapse’s with ease and has always worked flawlessly. Amazing work from the devs. Now with all the info and upcoming events. Well done 👍.Version: 7.1.1

Guide for Astrophotographers and stargazersNice app, good content and navigates friendly. I only suggest one feature. As I favorites most objects through out the year and get familiar with them every season. I wish there is a way to turn on or show your “favorites” list on the map, preference. Instead of going through the list and knowing where they are for the night. I could just point to the sky and see all my favorites where they are now and how long I can stargaze or image and object. To see this list in AR mode and check time and date, would really plan out the night or future nights for imaging. Especially if your have obstacles in the way, trees and two story neighbors. Pro subscriber here..Version: 10.0.6

Beautiful, educational and mesmerizing… with one flawI absolutely love this app. But understand it’s not just an app. It’s a tool to guide you literally through the known parts of our universe in the palm of your hand. This tool has thousands of explanations, navigational guides, historical studies, celestial events and not to mention a very satisfying and calming musical aura. The only problem is that it doesn’t always track your movements through the sky when you’re gazing into the expanse with the camera. Many times you will have to find reference points in the sky and scroll the screen yourself to see what you’re looking at. It used to track fairly well, but now it doesn’t. I don’t know why. Regardless, it doesn’t stop me from loving this tool. I still use it very often..Version: 10.3

MagnificentThe only non-5-star reviews of this app are from people with a broken compass on their iPhone, or who didn’t give the app permission use their location. Literally everyone else loves it, because it’s not just functionally great, the perfect educational plaything, it’s also aesthetically beautifully. It has one small bug, that it hangs up when you try to manually set the location to near the North Pole (say if you wanted to see how the dome of the night sky moves there...).Version: 8.1.9

This is amazingReally enjoying the app. Especially on a clear night and all the information regarding the stars the patterns everything it’s really amazing learning things I didn’t know before. I highly recommend.Version: 10.0.3

Astounding! This app blows my mind every time I use it. Just this evening I was working away when it reminded me the international space station was passing over. Walk out side and there it is! I’ve used the app all over the world and can’t rate it enough.Version: 6.7.1

Absolutely brilliantIf like me you’re a very amateur astronomer who enjoys staggering outside and staring at the stars and gaining a bit of knowledge, this is for you. Night vision mode is very useful, allowing you to keep your night eyes while still looking at the screen. One of the best apps I’ve ever paid for..Version: 10.2

AwesomeI cant believe that there’s a game that actually shows you what’s in the space, nebula, stars, galaxy, planet, and so much more can be seen in here, love it <3 overall : 12/10.Version: 10.3.1

Sky Guide ReviewSky guide is a Nice but is slightly boring. You should add more fun elements to the game. I do not use the app very often, but I enjoy when I do..Version: 7.0.4

Amazing and peacefulOkay so i’ve had this app on my phone for 2 days and haven’t opened it, i was gonna delete it but wanted to check it out first. i went on it tonight and it’s the most amazing space app ever. first of all it’s just peaceful out of nowhere, ?, but also tells you everything you need to know. every new space event coming up and also tells you if you’d be able to see it from your location, it can show/teach you so much. i recommend this app 100%.Version: 10.3.1

ABSOLUTELY MIND BLOWINGFor the serious astronomer, or for people who I just find the night sky, incredibly mysterious and interesting, this app is an absolute must. It blows your mind, and in my mind, it really shows just how far apps like this have come. I wish I had this when I was a young boy with a telescope. 10/10 Gold star and top of the class.Version: 10.3.1

Good but a bit disappointed.Sky Guide is a great app. I love looking at the stars and planets and different things in the universe. However, to do a lot of things like the things in the section “Cosmic Curiosities” you need to pay or do a free TRIAL which is annoying because I want to explore further but without paying, I can’t..Version: 10.2

Amazing! This app blows me mind ! This is probably the best thing since pb&j . Best time to use is at night.😏.Version: 10.4.1

This is amazingI am amazed at the time and effort put into this app. It was pretty cool once I saw this app and bought it straight away. I love all the information and the detail. I also really really like how the smallest stars that you see you have to zoom in and all of them are named..Version: 6.5.2

Spectacular On So Many Levels!Thank you for creating such a beautiful app! Not only is it informative but, aesthetically speaking, IT IS stunning. I find myself marveling at the illustrations and the etherealness of our galaxy. I truly believe it’s the BEST APP that’s ever been developed. With your talents and expertise, you have created an app that continuously and joyfully takes my breath away! I humbly say…thank you..Version: 10.4.1

Love this app!! ✨🌙I use it everyday, easy to use, incredibly informative and there is so much information in there. First class app it’s 5 stars from me!.Version: 10.4.1

The best astronomy app on iOS by farIf Apple made an astronomy app, it would not be better than Sky Guide. Beautiful graphics, easy to use and functional UI. Well worth the price of entry. Great job developers and keep it up!.Version: 7.0.1

Breathtakingly alluring. The amount of information in second to none and the ease of using the app is sublime. Looking at stars is so peaceful with the beautiful sounds as you interact with the stars. Even if you're not massively into astronomy, it is still an app you will spend a great amount of time exploring..Version: 6.2.3

PerfectWe just had a hybrid solar eclipse yesterday and I wanted to be able to see it without looking directly at the sun, so i used this app. And it nails everything. It’s accuracy is crazy good..Version: 10.3.1

Had it for years!I can honestly say that I've had this app fir a number of years now and it is the only app that I would never imagine ever getting rid of! It is so amazing and I love going outside at night and turning it on and identifying things in the sky. If anyone is looking to learn more about the planets, stars, and everything else in the sky, this is the app that you can't live without! You'll be glad you did, I promise! The zoom features and identification features are the best! Upgrade the app to the max and you'll be glad you did and you'll never look back! You can share with family and everyone can enjoy!.Version: 10.3.1

This app means everything to me!This app is one of my favorite apps of all time. I got interested in astronomy and always wanted an app like this, so I found the right app. It’s honestly better than "Night Sky" because it can tell you what’s going to happen to the sky in the future. This app is the best! Another reason why you should get this app instead is because you don’t have to pay for anything. You can just look at whatever you find. "Night Sky," however, you have to get this thing called "Night Sky Premium" in order to do everything on it. I use this more than any other app. I’m just so addicted to this app! Thank you, Fifth Star Labs LLC for making this app. Like I said, it’s the best. You should really get this app!.Version: 10.0.3

Brilliant.I've used other planets, the Moon and stars and this is the best one which one can share with family on their phones. At $3.99 a month it's worth the cost. Let the notification come up as it will open a note to tell you what's coming, Meteor showers when planets are in view, the Milky Way and more. I've had it for a year now and the Grand kids love it..Version: 10.6

Amazing!!!This is a great app, I randomly downloaded it while stargazing with friends and it made it so much more enjoyable. The compass feature is great and I particularly like the stories behind each constellation, based on Greek myth. Overall a very enjoyable app!.Version: 10.3.1

AwesomeIt just works and is user friendly.Version: 10.3.1

Love this app!Way more than what I expected! My family loves to use this app especially when camping! Very educational!.Version: 10.3

Love itMy favourite app. Love the night skies and each time I see a brighter than normal star sky guide is my go to. Did I say I love it?.Version: 6.7

Best stargazing app I’ve ever seenIt’s incredible. Highly recommend the plus and pro versions as well. Finding exoplanets and quasars and so much more is worth the $60 a year.Version: 10.4.1

It freezes frequentlyGenerally good app let down by freezing randomly.Version: 5.1

Great for novices as well as enthusiastsIt’s fascinating to see what is around you when you go on holidays to a new destination let alone to see what is in your own backyard. I used it to see the alignment of the planets in June 2022..Version: 10.2

Sky GuideSky Guide is no doubt one of the most amazing applications in the App Store. The design is simple but the content is complex as can be. Ranging from the stars to the constellations to whatever phenomenon presents itself upon the skies the app does a remarkable job of bringing us closer to the heavens. The app not only does that but provides news articles on astronomy related subjects as well as forecasts for your local area. Why not as the weather is tied to what we see above. Preferences can be set for notifications of upcoming events so those invested will never miss a thing. The app is easy to use for people of all ages and works to inspire young people to take note of what lies beyond our own horizons..Version: 8.0.3

Top stargazing appI absolutely love this app. Worth the money as I can not only look at the Northern Hemisphere constellations, but what the constellations are ‘down under’ with lovely relaxing music! My best moment was being able to identify the space station whizzing past one evening as we were outside, chilling with some wine. I love it ❤️✨✨✨⭐️💫.Version: 10.0.6

RSky guideLove it.Version: 10.3.1

Sky guide is magicalBut I miss the calming music that went with it..Version: 10.4

A Clean PlanetariumA clean and rather complete planetarium it is. beautiful and shiny and It doesn’t have bugs ( maybe just a little )..Version: 10.4

I Use It More Than Any Other AppI use this app more than any other app I have. Not just more than other’s like it. It’s beautiful, it’s easy to learn, it’s AR is accurate, the sky blending is near seamless on clear days, the sounds and music are breathtaking, the menus are sleek and simple, the tutorial is thoughtfully guided, and I cannot sing enough praise for the affordable pricing. Other apps don’t even come close to giving you as much pleasure for price. Bravo. I have no complaints. I have a few offhanded suggestions as far as being able to backtrack navigating the sky, though. I think having a brief history (maybe 10 astronomical objects worth?) to show others what you had looked at would make it easier to frequently enjoy the app with your friends and family. 10/10 I recommend this for anyone and everyone. It’s the price of a coffee and what you experience is absolutely priceless. The happiness that this app gives me is staggeringly invaluable to my day to day, and I never expected to love an app as much as I have come to love StarGuide. Thank you. Salut.Version: 8.1.9

ExquisiteNice to relax to in bed 🤗.Version: 10.6

Best Stargazing App I’ve Ever SeenI really like how you can turn your screen and the sky will line up. Within the first few minutes of using it I already found Jupiter and Mars. I really recommend getting it if you want to look for night sky objects..Version: 10.2

Want to see a shooting star?My 3 year old son and I hear an alert on my phone: 6 minutes to an Iridium Flare. He calls them shooting stars. We drop everything and run outside, rushing to the darkest spot in the neighborhood we can find. It’s not that dark, but it doesn’t have to be. We point my phone to the sky and see the path the Iridium satellite will take and watch. A bright shining light grows suddenly in the night sky right where the app points us and his smile and sense of wonder grows with it. It’s over in a few seconds but we talk about it for the rest of the night. Thank you all for this little feature in an already amazing app. Thank you for these moments, and for introducing my son to the world beyond our world. If I could give you 6 stars for this review I would..Version: 7.0.1

GreatGreat app. Few things that could be improved. I can find it hard to find catalog numbers on objects especially from the map usually end up going to google. Wish I could search an area of the sky and then use the visibility sorting would be awesome..Version: 8.1.2

Nonifications are only one thingI like the app and all, but when I try to enable the satellite nonification it only shows the ISS one so like plz help me ding other satellites other than ISS other than that SPECTACULAR APP!.Version: 10.3.1

Best app for viewing spaceThis is probably the best app for viewing space, it has something for anyone who’s interested in observing and learning about space. Great app 10/10 would recommend..Version: 10.3.1
