Rain Alarm Pro is a beautifully structured app that is always on any and every Apple device that I have. Rain Alarm Pro does not try to predict the weather, instead it lets you see the weather as it is happening, in real time. It is brilliant! It is easily the most reliable weather app that I have. I love that I can set it to notify me when rain or snow is near. When I have looked at my other apps for their daily forecasts and predictions, this is the app that I always turn to and rely on, to see how far away the rain or snow is. Why? Because it is the best! The settings allow you to change many things to get the perfect setup for yourself. You can set an adjustable perimeter radius for where you live and set the percentage of rain, so that it will trigger the alarm letting you know that rain is approaching and how far away it is. You can also set times to stop the alarm from disturbing you when you sleep. It is great to be able to set and to see the previous few hours of a storm and how it is moving in the weather radar. It makes it easier to help see if it is worth spending time in the garden, or if the rain is going to be around for the next few hours. I have used this app for years now. It has got better and better over the years and is regularly updated with improvements and any bug fixes for reported problems. I recommend this app to anyone with the slightest interest in the weather for whatever reason. ✓ Best rain alert appI've tried a few others, even bought a few (like Raindropping Pro). Rain Alarm is the only one I've used that is consistently accurate. ✓ Very usefulBeing interested in meteorology I have found this app very useful, the alarms are usually quite accurate and I would recommend this app, however there are a few features which I would love to see implemented . Being a voice over user, I would love to be able to have heading/direction as well as distance information given in alarms for the benefit of those who cannot see the radar images such as myself. Another feature which would be great would be the addition of tabular data such as distance, heading, strength and size information directly in the app main screen for all precipitation cells on the radar image.. ✓ Fantastic appI can't remember how I came across this app, but I am glad I did. With my current settings, I get about a 30 minute warning of any rain. After discovering the RainAlarm Win 7 desktop gadget and Firefox/Chrome browser extensions, I decided to get the Extended version for my iPhone in order to support this developer. RainAlarm Extended improves upon the free version by allowing for more precise customization. For me, the best feature has to be the ability to turn the app off for a specified period of time. At night, I dock my phone to an iPhone compatible clock radio and I only need my severe weather alert apps waking me up. If you live in a precipitation-heavy place I highly recommend this app. It is consistently accurate and has never crashed. I support what this developer is doing and can't wait to see how he continues to integrate the RainAlarm concept into more aspects of my life!.Version: 1.4.2

✓ Works as advertisedAfter installing the RainAlarm chrome plugin, I discovered the iOS versions. Installed the free app first to try it out. Found it worked as advertised but a bit over-senstive. I purchased this version so I could change just how much rain would trigger an alarm. Like that I can switch the notification noise from the system default too. Something to keep in mind is that the alarm is only as good as the radar data. If there are "false-positives" from the Environment Canada (like noise generated by the Niagara Escarpment near Collingwood) you'll be getting push notifications that rain is coming when it's sunny out..Version: 1.7.1

South West England area has quite variable regional conditions from low moorland areas to higher hilly regions which also attract more than average rain. This app certainly makes it easier to plan a day out! Holiday in Naples, Florida in Aug this app was great to avoid the daily fast moving thunder storms. Features work well, zoom feature was a problem for a short time after downloading an update, which also affected other apps. However, recent updates have fixed them all. It uses ur last know location or a fixed location and the server sends out notifications to your phone. What would I like to see? The ability to pause/fwd/reverse an animation in steps and per a previous review not to have to reload in order to play again. A ring overlaid onto the map showing the selected radius of coverage. Perhaps the ability to select different types of map - Google etc but do acknowledge they may detract from the display. After all this is not a navigation app. User selected map zoom (pinch) rather than the predefined steps. A refresh button on the main screen to allow anytime refresh in addition to current presets. ✓ Rain alarm is brilliantEvery now and then an app comes along that is amazing. This is one of those. It warns me when it is about to rain. I can then quickly get the washing in. Every housewife should have this app. Guys you should be advertising this app in every female aimed magazine on the planet. If I am planning a day out I can check to see if I need a rain coat. My daughter is on holiday abroad. I just checked to see what weather she is having. It is brilliant. Improvements - give me more alarm sounds. ✓ Good Tool particular in UKBefore Rain Alert I used Rain Today on the PC. The thing it missed was alerts. As such this app is great. Particular as a cyclist in the UK. It's not however without issues and needs some work to make it more robust. Both map loading while zooming and loading animations has stuck. Needing the app to be term'd and restarted. I'm sure things will improve and as such I give it a solid 4 stars. I also hope the dev gets an element of the UK price hike Apple has imposed in the AppStore. Their reason is pathetic given things are normally priced on local economics. As such it should never have gone up. Still, this isn't the devs fault, so rated appropriately..Version: 1.4.2

Within 20 minutes they responded to my questions and resolved them. Excellent CustomerService. They may out a manual describing all of the features. ✓ One of the most useful, must-have appsI've been using it since I've bad and iPhone and I started at 5. First the free version, then I got sick of the ads and for a couple of bucks I bought both the iPhone and iPad iOS versions. To say that it's useful it's an understatement. Like another reviewer, it's probably one of the apps I use most often, definitely first thing in the morning when I get up. I figure out, with my 80 km radius, how much time I have until weather is at my location. I've recommended this App to countless people also. I look at it throughout the day to plan my day, in conjunction with the Weather Network App, to know about activities and whether or not I should wash my car or wait. Knowing precipitation, especially with global warming is a definite must as it can be destructive. I would definitely recommend it and buy the paid version.
