OffMaps 2 allows you to access searchable maps, your position and bookmarks wherever you are, even offline and abroad. OffMaps stores maps directly on your device and lets you search the map offline.

Save data roaming charges abroad with your iPhone or turn your iPod into a fully featured travel guide.

2 maps are included for free, additional maps can be purchased at 0.99$ for 3 downloads (0.33$ per map) or get the lifetime flatrate and load as many maps as you like. Map updates are free.

Offline maps with search

Maps are rendered on device allowing fast downloads and crisp display. OffMaps uses up-to-date crowd-sourced OpenStreetMap (the Wikipedia of maps) that offer a lot of useful information beyond simple roadmaps from ATMs and bus stops to restaurants and bars. Two maps are included for free, more maps can be purchased from within the app.

Better yet, at the end of the trip, I can delete them -- confident that the next time (if there is such an occasion) I can download them again, and probably get an updated map. ✓ Great for the price, great support, growing map selectionIt's not yet as polished as it could be -- in particular, street and landmark names can be hard to see and should resize/reposition themselves when zooming/scrolling around. And I wish redraw could be faster. But for the price it can't be beat and it meets my needs for offline map access anywhere. Why buy another app with limited map selections? The developers of this app are growing the map selection constantly -- you can request a custom map of your area by zooming in and positioning a rectangle on a lower-detail world map. ✗ Cannot Restore PurchasesI paid for unlimited maps, yet it will not enable it in the app. I've tapped "restore flatrate", it prompts for my iTunes password, then nothing happens. No error. Edit: I had to tap the button to buy unlimited again. It says it will charge me a second time, but it instead restores the previous purchase.
